  • jQuery: issues with mouseover event if the element has children

    hi, I have the following element: <div id="#block-block-1"> <p>KAREN LANCEL:<br> lancel(at)xs4all.nl<br> phone 0031 (0)624873424</p> <p>HERMEN MAAT:<br> maat(at)xs4all.nl<br> phone 0031 (0)628536885</p> </div> which is supposed to disappear when the mouse is moved out of it (I will ignore now to talk about the fading in event). This is the code to make it fading out: $('#block-block-1').mouseout(function() { $(this).css("display","none"); }); The issue here is that the 'mouseout' event is triggered when the mouse is over the children elements inside my div. And the parent disappears even if the mouse is still inside it.

    What event is fired when you right-click on selected text in an <input> or <textarea> tag and the click "Delete" in Internet Explorer (I'm targeting version 9, but if it's good for lower versions too, all the better). On other browsers , the "input" event appears to work for all text changes through right-click so doing $("textarea").on("input", function() {...}); works. IE works for cut and paste, but not delete (JSFiddle here) although MDN claims that IE is supported.

I am going to use it on my website and thinking it to share as iframe like facebook but I cannot think its securty because someone can develop a script that can click on it automatically. I thought a solution using sessions but I couldn't make an algorithm completely. How can I disallow autoclicks and which solution is the best? It can be any language I just want algorithm.   • Soundboard app: Play sound as long as the user is pressing the button

    I am making a soundboard app and i am using sounds with over 30sec duration. I am playing the sound by connecting in IB my action with a "touch down" event, however the sound keeps playing once started. I connected in the some button a "touch cancel" & "touch up outside" event that is supposed to stop the sound but for some reason it doesn't.     I am trying to use JQuery UI autocomplete (1.8) for an app. It is set up like this: $('#txtigtags').autocomplete({ serviceUrl: '/tags/searchtags' + $('#txtigtags').val(), minChars: 2, delimiter: ' ', select: function () { alert(''); }, deferRequestBy: 500 }); According to the documentation the select event should fire whenever an entry is selected in the drop-menu and I should get the alert. But the select event is not firing at all. Neither is focus. What am I doing wrong?

As an aside, why do you even have to specify 'click', when the API states that handler always pertains to a click? Is this additional information not unnecessary?

My problem is, I want to expand the list view on click of the button below instead of the group element. Also, The group element onClick needs to call another activity. I can disable the expanding of the expandablelistview by `mainExpListView.setOnGroupClickListener(new OnGroupClickListener() { @Override public boolean onGroupClick(ExpandableListView parent, View v, int groupPosition, long id) { return false; }` So my questions: Is there any way to disable the group element and get it to perform other functions (Like navigate to another activity?)     Hey, How often do we see stuff like "Send this page to a friend" on a webpages? Well, I see them quite often. My question is, how do you guys see it's effectiveness? If I hit a webpage that's interesting, and I think my friend would enjoy it, I can just copy the URL from my browser bar, paste it into the email and press "Send" button. In my opinion, it's usually faster and less mistake-aware then the button/link like this on the webpage. In addition, I'm not really sure what this website does with the emails I enter there - don't they store it and then sell for $1/100 addresses to spammers? My question is - when you design a website, do you put such links on the pages (it's often seen on sites with some news/articles)? Does it even make sense?

I know if I set the options parameter to null, can make the dialog listen to "enter" button, but if I do that, the dialog don't focus to the textbox when show up. Can someone help me on this ?
