  • Secure C# Assemblies from unauthorized Callers

    - by Creepy Gnome
Is there any way to secure your assembly down to the class/property & class/method level to prevent the using/calling of them from another assembly that isn't signed by our company? I would like to do this without any requirements on strong naming (like using StrongNameIdentityPermission) and stick with how an assembly is signed. I really do not want to resort to using the InternalsVisibleTo attribute as that is not maintainable in a ever changing software ecosystem. For example: Scenario One Foo.dll is signed by my company and Bar.dll is not signed at all. Foo has Class A Bar has Class B Class A has public method GetSomething() Class B tries to call Foo.A.GetSomething() and is rejected Rejected can be an exception or being ignored in someway Scenario Two Foo.dll is signed by my company and Moo.dll is also signed by my company. Foo has Class A Moo has Class C Class A has public method GetSomething() Class C tries to call Foo.A.GetSomething() and is not rejected

  • Clojure: using *command-line-args* in the script rather than REPL

    - by Teflon Mac
I've clojure running within Eclipse. I want to pass arguments to clojure when running it. In the below the arguments are available in the REPL but not in the script itself. What do I need to do such that in the below typing arg1 in the REPL will return the first argument? Script: (NS Test) (def arg1 (nth *command-line-args* 0)) After clicking on the Eclipse "Run"... Clojure 1.1.0 1:1 user=> #<Namespace test> 1:2 test=> arg1 nil 1:3 test=> *command-line-args* ("bird" "dog" "cat" "pig") 1:4 test=> (def arg2 (nth *command-line-args* 1)) #'test/arg2 1:5 test=> arg2 "dog" 1:6 test=>

  • SQL Server 2008 - Conditional Query

    - by Villager
Hello, SQL is not one of my strong suits. I have a SQL Server 2008 database. This database has a stored procedure that takes in eight int parameters. For the sake of keeping this question focused, I will use one of these parameters for reference: @isActive int Each of these int parameters will be -1, 0, or 1. -1 means "Unknown" or "Don't Care". Basically, I need to query a table such that if the int parameter is NOT -1, I need to consider it in my WHERE clause. Because there are eight int parameters, an IF-ELSE statement does not seem like a good idea. At the same time, I do not know how else to do this? Is there an elegant way in SQL to add a WHERE conditional if a parameter does NOT equal a value? Thank you!

  • PHP and C# communication with Encrypt/Decrypt

    - by SilentWarrior
Hello, I have been searching and cant find a consistent solution to my problem : I want to encrypt something in C# and decrypt it in PHP but also be able to encrypt in PHP and decrypt in C#, using the same key on both ends. All the solutions I found dont seem to work both ways, most of them only work on one language and then fail on the other, either by decrypting wrong or by blowing up the offsets. I would like to use TripleDES but it isnt a requirement, just want something relatively strong for plain text communication (will either use JSON or just plain key-value pairs for complex stuff). Thanks in advance PS: http://pastie.org/643106 this is what I have been testing with.

  • How to programmatically switch to a specific window in compiz?

    - by FossilBit
Is there a command to tell compiz that we want to bring in front and set focus to a specific window? How should we identify the window in that command? The reason behind this question is the following use-case: Suppose we have a wiki to keep notes of anything interesting we find out. It would be very convenient to have a keyboard shortcut to bring the browser window with our Wiki page in front and start typing immediately then with another key combination switch to the application we were working before I know that "ALT+TAB" switches between the last two used windows but cannot support more complex combinations of applications. E.g Browser+Eclipse+ Wiki If there is a command like the one described, it is easy to add a shortcut to it from KDE or GNOME interface Thanx ...

  • In Visual Studio 2010, intellisense isn't showing for long method signatures

    - by sohtimsso1970
The problem is exactly as asked in the question title. When I'm typing in the text editor and referencing a public method that has a long signature (lots of parameters, usually 10 or more) the intellisense just stops working. It will sometimes flicker; other times it will not show at all. Only seen this happen with C#, but I don't use anything else. It might happen in VB too. Don't know. Anyone else seeing this? I've Googled for an hour but can't seem to iron it out. I've restarted VS, rebooted the machine, enabled/disabled intellisense in Tools - Options. NOTHING works.

  • Javascript: setTimeout() - help needed

    - by ilkin
Hi guys, I'm currently doing a highlighting function on a webpage and im using the jquery plugin for that. My code looks like this: var input = function() { var matchword = $('#searchbox').val(); if(matchword != "") { $('body').removeHighlight(); $('body').highlight($('#searchbox').val()); } } $(document).ready(function() { $('#searchbox').keyup(function() { setTimeout("input()", 2000); }); }); It works fine if there is not so large amount of data on the page. But in case of large amount of data on the page the whole process is slowing down which causes that inputbox is freezing untill the letter is hightlighted. So the typing is not smooth. I tryed to use a setTimeout but it seems doesnt help. Any ideas?

  • Class Method not working in objective c

    - by byteSlayer
In my code I have a class called 'ProfileShareViewController', In which I have imported another class I have created called 'OwnProfileData', And I have also created an Instance of that class (class = OwnProfileData) as a property Of 'ProfileShareViewController' and synthesized it (instance called 'OwnProfile'). In another class I have called 'EditProfileViewController', I have imported the 'ProfileShareViewController', and now I am trying to change a property of the OwnProfile object from the ProfileShareViewController within the EditProfileViewController class. For some reason that doesn't work. I have Tried typing: [[ProfileShareViewController ownProfile] setName:@"Ido"]; (The property I am trying to set is Name, and as it is synthesized in OwnProfileData, I am using 'setName'). This doesn't work and I get the warning: "No known class method for selector 'ownMethod'. Any Idea as for why that might happen and how I can fix this? Thanks for your comments! Any support is highly appreciated!

  • Best way to use Cradle with Express.js (CouchDB, Node.js)

    - by Costa
I'm building my website ( http://tedxgramercy.jit.su ) with express.js and so far I've been using the http.request method in node to access couch, and that's been cool. I've learned lots about how http, couch, and node work, which is awesome. Anyways, I'm thinking of moving over to cradle now (Let me know if you have a strong opinion about this) and I'd like to know the "right" way to set this up. Should I... require() cradle and make a new connection to my db in each separate route? create my database connection once, and then just pass that connection by require()ing the connection in each route? (if so, how do I do that?) Thanks!!!

  • Is there any way to get Visual Studio 2008 to update .net style comments automatically?

    - by Jon Cage
I've been writing a lot of VC++ 2008 / CLI software recently and am using the C#/CLI style documentation: /// <summary> /// Function the does stuff /// </summary> /// <param name="someParam">Specifies some option</param> /// <returns>true if it worked</returns> bool DoStuff( bool someParam ); I find myself re-typing those blocks quite frequently and frankly, it's getting repetitive. Is there any way to get Visual Studio to create / update those blocks automatically as you create new function definitions or update existing definitions?

  • SQL Server. Stored procedure to get the biweekly periods

    - by Yada
I'm currently trying to write a stored procedure that can compute the biweekly periods when a date is passed in as a parameter. The business logic: the first Monday of the year is first day of the biweekly period. For example in 2010: period period_start period_end 1 2010-01-04 2010-01-17 2 2010-01-18 2010-01-31 3 2010-02-01 2010-02-14 .... 26 2010-12-20 2011-01-02 Passing today's date of 2010-12-31 will return 26, 2010-12-20 and 2011-01-02. I'm not too strong in T-SQL. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

  • Can .NET AppDomains do this?

    - by Eloff
I've spent hours reading up about AppDomains, but I'm not sure they work quite like I'm hoping. If I have two classes, Foo in AppDomain #1, Bar in AppDomain #2: App Domain #1 is the application. App Domain #2 is something like a plugin, and can be loaded and unloaded dynamically. AppDomain #2 wants to create Foo and use it. Foo uses lots of classes in AppDomain #1 internally. I don't want AppDomain #2 using object foo with reflection, I want it to use Foo foo, with all the static typing and compiled speed that goes with it. Can this be done considering that AppDomain #1, containing Foo, is never unloaded? If so, does any remoting take place here when using Foo? When I unload AppDomain #2, the type Foo is destroyed?

  • Randomly generating sequence of ints in a specific range

    - by vvv
Hi, I am unsure how to put this and my math skills aren't that strong. But here's what I need. I want to generate a list of all the 16bit integers (0-65535). But everytime I do so I want to seed the algorithm randomly that each time the list starts with a different integer and all the subsequent integers will be generated once but also in random order. small example (1-5): ... 1, 5, 3, 2, 4 4, 3, 1, 5, 2 2, 1, 4, 5, 3 ... Any help?

  • CSS bug in text input field - MSIE7

    - by Uri Bruck
I have an input text in a form that has a problem in MSIE7. When the text field is filled and I continue typing, the background starts scrolling left along with the text. This is the form when the text field is filled http://img155.imageshack.us/i/screen2rl.jpg/ The background image, a white rectangle with rounded corners, scrolls left with the text, leaving the black background. This is the CSS for this text field: border: none; background: url('/wp-content/themes/pokerbuddy/images/field.png') top left no-repeat; width: 100px; height: 20px; padding: 0px; font-size: 80%; color: #399; display:inline; Is there any way to solve this in MSIE7?

  • Drupal - db_fetch_array returns NULL for every row

    - by darudude
    I'm using Drupal's db_fetch_array to fetch rows from my db_query. However, every row returned is equal to NULL. Typing the query into PHP myadmin works, so I have no idea whats going on. db_num_rows returns the number of rows as well. Here is the code: if(count($rebuild_ids)) { $ids=implode(",",$rebuild_ids); $type_stmt = "SELECT * from {" . ItemType::$type_table_name . "} where id IN ($ids)"; $new_items=db_query($type_stmt); if(!$new_items || db_num_rows($new_items) == 0) { return; } while($row = db_fetch_array($new_items)); { if ($row!=NULL) { echo "I work!" $game_items[] = $row['id']; ItemInstance::$nid_to_item_type_code[$row['nid']] = $row['id']; } } } However, it never gets into the third if statement (i.e. never echos "I work!") Any ideas?

  • Question marks in Java generics.

    - by gnucom
I tried to make sure this wasn't a duplicate post, sorry if I was blind. This is a small snippet of code taken from some of the examples that accompany the Stanford Parser. I've been developing in Java for about 4 years, but have never had a very strong understanding of what this style of code is supposed to indicate. List<? extends HasWord> wordList = toke.tokenize(); I'm not worried about the details of the code. What I'm confusing about is what exactly the generic expression is supposed to convey, in English. Can someone explain this to me? Thanks!

  • what's the right way to do polymorphism with protocol buffers?

    - by user364003
I'm trying to long-term serialize a bunch of objects related by a strong class hierarchy in java, and I'd like to use protocol buffers to do it due to their simplicity, performance, and ease of upgrade. However, they don't provide much support for polymorphism. Right now, the way I'm handling it is by having a "one message to rule them all" solution that has a required string uri field that allows me to instantiate the correct type via reflection, then a bunch of optional fields for all the other possible classes I could serialize, only one of which will be used (based on the value of the uri field). Is there a better way to handle polymorphism, or is this as good as I'm going to get?

  • set the width of a UIText view based on the content size property

    - by Mrwolfy
TextView.contentSize.width does not work to set the UITextView's .frame.size.width. [TextView setFrame:CGRectMake(TextView.frame.origin.x, TextView.frame.origin.y, TextView.contentSize.width, TextView.contentSize.height)]; Setting the UITextView's frame height to the contentSize.height property works to make the view's frame scale to the proper size for the current vertical size of the content. For some reason, the width of the view's frame does not respond in the same way. It just remains the same size regardless of the amount of text input. When I log the contentsize of the UITextView dynamically, as I am typing in text to the view, the height property chnges, while the width does not. Makes me wonder what the width property is doing, what's it for.

  • Aside from performance concerns, is Java still chosen over Groovy/JRuby etc.?

    - by yar
[This is an empirical question about the state-of-the-art: I am NOT asking if Java is cooler or less cool than the dynamic languages that work in the JVM.] Aside from cases where performance is a main decision factor, do companies/developers still willingly chose Java over Groovy, JRuby or JPython? Personal Note: The reason I am asking is that, while I do some subset of my professional work in Ruby (not JRuby, for now), in my personal projects I use Java. While I have written non-trivial apps in Groovy, I prefer Java, but I wonder if I should just get over it and do everything in Groovy. I like Java because I feel that static typing saves me time and aids refactoring. (No, I am not familiar with Scala.) However, I feel that this very empirical, on-topic programming question may inform my decision.

  • jQuery Fade a div off the screen

    - by Scott B

I'm using jQuery 1.4.2 and would like to know the command that will fade this div off the screen after 3 seconds... <script src="../wp-content/themes/mytheme/jquery-1.4.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> if ($_REQUEST['saved']) echo '<div id="message" class="updated fade"><p>'.$themename.' settings saved.</strong></p></div>';

  • Is there a Javadoc-like plugin for Xcode that automatically generates the doc template?

    - by Mark
I'm aware of Doxygen to generate the documentation. What I'm looking for is quick way to insert documentation in Xcode similar to what Eclipse does when editing Java files. Let's say I have an objective-c method with a couple of arguments like this: -(NSInteger*) sumOf: (NSInteger*) one and:(NSInteger*) two {... In Eclipse, if you place the cursor above the method and type: /**<Enter> you get a Javadoc template pre-populated with @param and @return tags. Is it possible to achieve something similar in Xcode? After typing /**<Enter>, I'd like to get this automatically: /** * * @param one * @param two * * @return */ -(NSInteger*) sumOf: (NSInteger*) one and:(NSInteger*) two {...

  • VS 2008, is there a way to search properties like the old vb6/EVB? CTRL+SHIFT?

    - by Davery
I really miss the CTRL+SHIFT+CHAR searching of a property in VS 2008 that older IDE's had... typing CTRL+SHIFT+T got you to "tabindex" then Tag when pressed again. They dropped it in VS 2002 I believe, and the closest I could find to restoring any functionality like it was acorn's property window filter, which isn't exactly functional. Does anyone know of a way to get this functionality back? I hate having to browse through 30-40 properties in design mode, when a CTRL+SHIFT+T would get me right to text. Thanks!

  • I need to add a range for a date input field in jquery

    - by user338413
I've got an input field in a form that needs a date value. I'm using jQuery UI's datepicker for the calendar and I've set a range for it. However, the user can override that by typing a different date in the input field. How can I specify a date range for the field with jQuery validation? All I see with jQuery is that you can only specify that the field be a date type. Can I create min and max values that work with dates?

  • Proper use of of typedef in C++

    - by dicroce
I have coworkers who occasionally use typedef to avoid typing. For example: typedef std::list<Foobar> FoobarList; ... FoobarList GetFoobars(); Personally, I always hate coming across code like this, largely because it forces me to go lookup the typedef so I can tell how to use it. I also feel like this sort of thing is a potential slippery slope... If you do this, why aren't you doing it more? (pretty soon, your code is totally obfuscated). I found this SO question regarding this issue: when should I use typedef in C I have two questions: 1) am I truly alone in disliking this? 2) If the vast majority of people think this sort of typedef use is OK, what criteria do you use to determine whether to typedef a type?

  • Haskell - generating all paths between nodes

    - by user1460863
    I need to build a function, which return all paths between certain nodes. connect :: Int -> Int-> [[(Int,Int)]] Data.Graph library gives me usefull function 'buildG' which builds graph for me. If I call let g = buildG (1,5) [(1,2),(2,3),(3,4),(4,5),(2,5)], I will get an array where every node is mapped to his neighbours. An example: g!1 = [2] g!2 = [3,5] .. g!5 = [] I was trying to do it using list comprehensions, but I am not very good in haskell and I am getting typing error which I can't repair. connect x y g | x == y = [] | otherwise = [(x,z) | z <- (g!x), connect z y g] I don't need to worry at this moment about cycles. Here is what I want to get: connect 1 5 g = [[(1,2),(2,3),(3,4),(4,5)],[(1,2),(2,5)]]
