  • Unable to display google maps in a dojo layout

    - by Jens
    Dear All, I am a real newbie in programming and now I have to combine Google Maps and Dojo. Both alone are fine but when I try to implement a Google Map into a Dojo content pane which is embedded in a border-container it simply does not work. I think there is a problem with the naming of the divs but perhaps there is something else to take care of? Could someone post the simplest possible solution? many thanks

  • ASP.NET Master Page + pageLoad() = kills jquery?

    - by Clay Angelly
    In my MasterPage, I have a ScriptManager that has a ScriptReference to my jquery.js file. This has always worked with no problems, all content pages that utilize jquery work fine. Recently, I added the following javascript script block at the end of my MasterPage: function pageLoad(sender, args) { } By simply adding the above pageLoad method, no jquery code is executed from any of my content pages. Why would just having a pageLoad in the Master Page have this effect? Thanks in advance for any insight.

  • Looking for jquery/javascript image rotator controlled by XML file

    - by Carl
    I'm trying to find something like this: http://coffeescripter.com/code/ad-gallery/ that is controlled by an xml file that can simply contain the image location, thumbnail location and the text for title/description. Has to be pure jquery or javascript though - no flash based stuff. I've found loads of great components but can't find one that is controlled by XML. Anyone happen to have seen one around anywhere please?

  • Jquery validation on click event instead of on submit

    - by Mazzi
    I looked all around SOF but no luck to find me answer. It is either too easy or the answer is not just there. What I simply need to do is to validate the form when my <img id='submit'/> is clicked and submit it afterwards. $(document).ready(function(){ $('#submit').click(function() { }); // Validation $('#suzuki_scb').validate({ // My Rules and Messages! }); });

  • How can I dynamically load and execute all of the Javascript files in a directory?

    - by Andrew
    I'm making a very simple content-management system in Javascript. It uses plugins which are individual .js files which live in a "modules" folder. Currently I'm loading them with JQuery's getScript() function, but I have to manually define the list of available modules. Is there any way to dynamically load the list of Javascript files so that the user can install additional modules by simply dropping them into the "modules" folder?

  • Difference between DirectCast() and CType() in VB.Net

    - by Chapso
    I am an experienced C/C++/C# programmer who has just gotten into VB.NET. I generally use CType (and CInt, CBool, CStr) for casts because it is less characters and was the first way of casting which I was exposed to, but I am aware of DirectCast and TryCast as well. Simply, are there any differences (effect of cast, performance, etc.) between DirectCast and CType? I understand the idea of TryCast.

  • Count the number of times a string appears within a string...

    - by onekidney
    I simply have a string that looks something like this: "7,true,NA,false:67,false,NA,false:5,false,NA,false:5,false,NA,false" All I want to do is to count how many times the string "true" appears in that string. I'm feeling like the answer is something like String.CountAllTheTimesThisStringAppearsInThatString() but for some reason I just can't figure it out. Help?

  • Two collections and a for loop. (Urgent help needed) Checking an object variable against an inputted

    - by Elliott
    Hi there, I'm relatively new to java, I'm certain the error is trivial. But can't for the life of me spot it. I have an end of term exam on monday and currently trying to get to grips with past papers! Anyway heregoes, in another method (ALGO_1) I search over elements of and check the value H_NAME equals a value entered in the main. When I attempt to run the code I get a null pointer exception, also upon trying to print (with System.out.println etc) the H_NAME value after each for loop in the snippet I also get a null statement returned to me. I am fairly certain that the collection is simply not storing the data gathered up by the Scanner. But then again when I check the collection size with size() it is about the right size. Either way I'm pretty lost and would appreciate the help. Main questions I guess to ask are: from the readBackground method is the data.add in the wrong place? is the snippet simply structured wrongly? oh and another point when I use System.out.println to check the Background object values name, starttime, increment etc they print out fine. Thanks in advance.(PS im guessing the formatting is terrible, apologies.) snippet of code: for(Hydro hd: hydros){ System.out.println(hd.H_NAME); for(Background back : backgs){ System.out.println(back.H_NAME); if(back.H_NAME.equals(hydroName)){ //get error here public static Collection<Background> readBackground(String url) throws IOException { URL u = new URL(url); InputStream is = u.openStream(); InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(is); BufferedReader b = new BufferedReader(isr); String line =""; Vector<Background> data = new Vector<Background>(); while((line = b.readLine())!= null){ Scanner s = new Scanner(line); String name = s.next(); double starttime = Double.parseDouble(s.next()); double increment = Double.parseDouble(s.next()); double sum = 0; double p = 0; double nterms = 0; while((s.hasNextDouble())){ p = Double.parseDouble(s.next()); nterms++; sum += p; } double pbmean = sum/nterms; Background SAMP = new Background(name, starttime, increment, pbmean); data.add(SAMP); } return data; } Edit/Delete Message

  • Unity view Registered Types during debug

    - by Jon Archway
    Possibly a stupid question, but during debug I simply want to see the types that have been registered with my Unity container. I have tried going through the container in the watch window, but can't seem to find what I am looking for? I am expecting there to be a list of registered types somewhere? Thanks in advance

  • Why isn't the boost::shared_ptr -> operator inlined?

    - by Alan
    Since boost::shared_ptr could be called very frequently and simply returns a pointer, isn't the -> operator a good candidate for being inlined? T * operator-> () const // never throws { BOOST_ASSERT(px != 0); return px; } Would a good compiler automatically inline this anyway? Should I lose any sleep over this? :-)

  • ASP.NET Hosting and routing

    - by V-Man
    Is it possible to host 2 asp.net projects off one ip address? I don't have a domain name just an ip number. I'm running IIS7. The first project runs and displays fine over the web by simply typing in the ip address into the browser but I'm having trouble accessing the second. Currently both projects have virtual directories in IIS7. Help is greatly appreciated. Thx

  • RotateFlipType wrong values when used in settings

    - by Vnuk
    I'm trying to use System.Drawing.RotateFlipType in my settings file. This screenshot summarizes my problem: Each of RotateFlipType values is doubled, and some are missing. If I try to use some of missing values (like Rotate180FlipX, through app.config) - it is simply ignored. Using VS2008 with SP1, vb.net with framework 3.5 on windows 7.
