    Hello there Im have just changed the target framework for an asp.net mvc project from target framework 4 t 3.5, I keep getting this error when I try to debug, or go to any controller action 'HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. ' Any ideas why I keep getting this error? as soon as I revert back to .net 4.0, everything is fine ps could be an issue with routing as the global.asax Application_Start() is not not hit hence route entries are not registered Thanks

  • IE7 and IE8 change event not being thrown for text input

    I have a form that I auto focus at startup of the page with jquery. I also have change event handlers in place for whenever an input changes. If I change the value of the first field that was autofocused, and then move to the next field, the change event handler doesn't fire. If I remove the autofocusing, and just focus manually, then change it then move to the next field, the change event does fire. This only happens on IE. It works fine on firefox and chrome. Anyone experience this before?

  • Validating Login / Changing User settings / Php Mysql

    Hi everyone, my questions are about login, and changing already saved data. (Q1) 'Till now I've only saved input in the tables of the database (registration steps), now I need to check if the input (login steps), are the same of my table in database, in fact I have 3 types of users, then I'll have to check 3 kind of tables. Then if the input data matches with one of those 3 tables I will redirect the user to his specific area. I'm thinking about saved the submitted data $login=$_REQUEST['login']; and $password=$_REQUEST['password']; and compare with the login column in the database. Then if the login matches, I'll compare the password submitted with the one in the row, not in the column. But I don't know how to do this search and comparison,neither what to use. Then if both matches I'll redirect the user. Else I'll send an login error message. (this I know how to do) (Q2) What if need to change an already saved user ? For example to change an email address. My changing user's data web page is exactly the same like the registration user web page. Can I load the already saved options and values of registration (table user for example). Then the user will change whatever he thinks it's necessary, and then when he submits the new information, they would not create a new row in my table, but just be overwritten the old information? How can I do this? Sorry for any mistake in English, and Thanks for the attention.

  • No option to select ASP.Net Version in IIS 6?

    I'm running Windows Server 2003 64bit edition. I've just installed the .Net 4 Framework in order to get a new WCF service up and running. However, I have no options anywhere in IIS 6 for selecting the ASP.Net framework version. I.e. Right click Properties on the website should have as ASP.Net tab from where I should be able to select v2 or v4. Does anyone know why they're not there and how I can make them appear? For the time being I've had to go into Website Properties Home Directory Configuration and change the .svc extension to use v4.0.30319 instead. So, everything's now working for my WCF service, however every other extension is set to v2. How can I get the tab? It's not visible on any of my 23 websites.

  • Regression testing for firewall changes

    We have a number of firewalls in place around our organisation and in some cases packets can pass through four levels of firewall limiting the flow TCP traffic. A concept that I'm used to from software testing is regression testing, allowing you to run a test suite against a changed application to verify that the new changes haven't affected any old features. Does anyone have any experience or an offer any solutions to being able to perform the same type of thing with firewall changes and network testing? The problem becomes a lot more complicated because you'd ideally want to be originating (and testing receipt) of packets across many machines.

    I'm on OS X and I want my bookmarklets to have favicons. I already found two articles but they didn't help much: http://www.tapper-ware.net/blog/?p=97#comment-2076 It's a great article but as I understand it this doesn't seem to work for Chrome :( http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/3032/google_chrome_how_to_change_icons_on_the_bookmarks_bar/ The problem with this tipp is - if I'm wrong, then please correct me - that after I cleaned the history, the cache, etc. the whole thing will be gone again. If there is a chance to modify the bookmarklets by hosting them myself I'd instantly do it, but I found no solution so far.

  • Password History Storage and Variability Comparison

    I believe this situation would be similar to many others out there, so maybe some of you can shed some light... Supposedly, when making password changes through MS exchange every 90 days, you cannot use any simple variation of one of your old passwords, up to whatever limit the admin's set for a system. My question: If your previous passwords are only stored as hashes, how can they check for the "just changed one letter" case. Wouldn't they have to have access to the old plain-text passwords in order to make those comparisons? The only other thing I can think of is if upon original creation of a password, they also stored all other one character permutations of it, so that they can be banned later?

  • WIndows 7: would like recursively check a directory for changes to files and folders since my last visit

    I have found varieties of this question. Most of them fall under monitoring and others are said to be buggy. A continuously monitoring program won't help me and neither will a list of the most recently modified files. I would like to check if the directory, its sub folders and files have changed since my last visit. It seems to me that I'd likely need a program that maintains and index of that directory and compares it with its condition when I tell it to. Then that program could output to a log for my use. This is on Windows 7 over a shared network, the folder(s) I'd like to check have 4-50GB of data. I did find this, however I am still learning how to program.   • ASP.NET. MVC2. Entity Framework. Cannot pass primary key value back from view to [HttpPost]

    I pass a ViewModel (which contains a "Person" object) from the "EditPerson" controller action into the view. When posted back from the view, the ActionResult receives all of the Person properties except the ID (which it says is zero instead of say its real integer) Can anyone tell me why?   • SQL SERVER – DQS Error – Cannot connect to server – A .NET Framework error occurred during execution of user-defined routine or aggregate “SetDataQualitySessions” – SetDataQualitySessionPhaseTwo

    Earlier I wrote a blog post about how to install DQS in SQL Server 2012. Today I decided to write a second part of this series where I explain how to use DQS, however, as soon as I started the DQS client, I encountered an error that will not let me pass through and connect with DQS client. It was a bit strange to me as everything was functioning very well when I left it last time.  The error was very big but here are the first few words of it. Cannot connect to server. A .NET Framework error occurred during execution of user-defined routine or aggregate “SetDataQualitySessions”: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0×80131904): A .NET Framework error occurred during execution of user-defined routine or aggregate “SetDataQualitySessionPhaseTwo”: The error continues – here is the quick screenshot of the error. As my initial attempts could not fix the error I decided to search online and I finally received a wonderful solution from Microsoft Site. The error has happened due to latest update I had installed on .NET Framework 4. There was a  mismatch between the Module Version IDs (MVIDs) of the SQL Common Language Runtime (SQLCLR) assemblies in the SQL Server 2012 database and the Global Assembly Cache (GAC). This mismatch was to be resolved for the DQS to work properly. The workaround is specified here in detail. Scroll to subtopic 4.23 Some .NET Framework 4 Updates Might Cause DQS to Fail. The script was very much straight forward. Here are the few things to not to miss while applying workaround. Make sure DQS client is properly closed The NETAssemblies is based on your OS. NETAssemblies for 64 bit machine – which is my machine is “c:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319″. If you have Winodws installed on any other drive other than c:\windows do not forget to change that in the above path. Additionally if you have 32 bit version installed on c:\windows you should use path as ”c:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319″ Make sure that you execute the script specified in 4.23 sections in this article in the database DQS_MAIN. Do not run this in the master database as this will not fix your error. Do not forget to restart your SQL Services once above script has been executed. Once you open the client it will work this time. Here is the script which I have bit modified from original script. I strongly suggest that you use original script mentioned 4.23 sections.     I am developing Rails v2.3 app with MySQL database and mysql2 gem. I faced a weird situation which is about changing the environment in rake task. (all my setting and configurations for environment and database are correct, no problem for that.) Here is my simple story : I have a rake task like following: namespace :db do task :do_something => :environment do #1. run under 'development' environment my_helper.run_under_development_env #2. change to 'custom' environment RAILS_ENV='custom' Rake::Task['db:create'] Rake::Task['db:migrate'] #3. change back to 'development' environment RAILS_ENV='development' #4. But it still run in 'customer' environment, why? my_helper.run_under_development_env end end The rake task is quite simple, what it does is: 1. Firstly, run a method from my_helper under "development" environment 2. Then, change to "custom" environment and run db:create and db:migrate until now, everything is fine, the environment did change to "custom" 3. Then, change it back again to "development" environment 4. run helper method again under "development" environment But, though I have changed the environment back to "development" in step 3, the last method still run in "custom" environment, why? and how to get rid of it? --- P.S. --- I have also checked a post with the similar situation here, and tried to use the solution there like (in step 2): ActiveRecord::Base.establish_connection('custom') Rake::Task['db:create'] Rake::Task['db:migrate'] to change the database connection instead of changing environment but, the db:create and db:migrate will still run under "development" database, though the linked post said it should run for "custom" database... weird

  • Benefits of migrating my work to a new web development framework?

    When I first started programming with PHP, I was ignorant of other php frameworks (like code igniter, cake php, etc...). So I fell into the trap of re-inventing wheels, which had the benefit of being "fun" and "educational". Overtime, I discovered other open source products that I found useful, like smarty templating engine, jquery library, tcpdf library, fdf etc...so I started bundling these technologies along with things I've built over the years into a LAMP development framework to make life easier for myself. This pass year, I've been having fun developing on the code igniter framework. It does many of the things I do in my framework. Coding in CI feels natural because the MVC and ORM feels similar to the MVC and ORM of my framework. So now I'm contemplating migrating a lot of the plugins in my framework over to CI. The pros and cons I can think of for such a project are: Pros: benefit from the vast community of CI developers lots of other developers will be familiar with it better documentation Cons: I've built a lot of useful plugins against my own framework, and it will take a lot of time to move even just the essential ones at the moment, I still, work faster against my own framework than CI, just because I'm more familiar with it even if I did migrate to CI, there will always be newer and better frameworks in the near future, and i'll be contemplating this scenario again So my question is the following: perhaps I should leave my old framework as is, and for each new project I receive, I make a decision on whether the requirements are best served by developing with CI or my own framework. Is this the right approach?

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 Print Server - Change Printer Names on All Client Systems

    I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 print server set up hosting out multiple printers to my end users. I would like to change the naming convention for all of the printers hosted on the print server and want this change reflected on the client end. For example: I have a HP4000 printer named "Cottage" on the print server. I want to rename the printer "HR-1stFloor-220a" on the print server and I want this printer to appear on every client system with the new name. Simply renaming the printer on the server automatically creates a link from the old printer name to the new one, so all the clients work but the actual name, from their perspective, has not changed. Renaming the share name also does not visibly effect the end user (though it does update the port information). I would like to have the names of the printers be meaningful information regarding department and location, but this means that when they change hands or move I would need to update this information, and currently I am not seeing a way short of writing custom start-up scripts and remove/replacing them through AD. Is there a simple way of accomplishing this task? Thank you for your help.

  • Change DPI setting in Windows 8.1 for the Logon Screen

    How can the DPI setting be changed for the Logon Screen in Windows 8.1? Microsoft has added per-user DPI settings. But this means that there is no adjustable DPI setting for the Lock/Logon screen. You can change the DPI setting to be the same across all displays and this does affect the icons and font on the lock/logon screen. However, it does not affect any app/program that can run on the lock/logon screen. Ex. I use a 44" flat screen TV for my monitor on my desktop. Big enough for me to sit in my recliner and use my computer. I use the on-screen keyboard most of the time. (I don't want to keep a keyboard next to me.) The problem is that with the new DPI setup the on-screen keyboard takes up nearly half the screen, which is too big. I tried looking through the registry to see if I could find a setting for it. In the key HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop there is a string value named LogicalDPIOverride with a value of -1. I have a feeling this is where I can fix the issue. I tried changing the value to 0 and to 1 with no change in the result. Instead I noticed that after logging out and back in the -1 value was back in the registry. How can I change this default DPI? Can I use the LogPixels string that worked for DPI in Windows 7? Here are two Screen shots, one of the Lock Screen and one of the Logon Screen:

  • Change XRDP keyboard layout to en-gb Ubuntu 12.04

    Does anybody know how to change the keyboard layout to en-gb in an XRDP session on Ubuntu 12.04? I am using mstsc.exe to connect to an XRDP server hosting an XVNC session, however I cannot work out how to apply the UK keyboard layout. A bit of googling has yeilded these instructions which allow me to change the keymap, however using the keymap file I downloaded from here I loose the ability to use the arrow keys, home/end etc. Comparing the file with the standard one there are substantially more differences than I would expect considering the similarity between the layouts. I only have RDP access to the box so i don't seem to be able to actually generate a new layout per the instructions above, maybe it's a local console thing? Also I can't change either the RDP client used or the RDP server as they are my only access to the system, I don't have local console access. I do have root priveleges on the OS however. Any thoughts? Edit: I have found http:// xrdp.sourceforge.net/documents/keymap/newkeymap.html (apologies for not typing the link properly but the antispam filter won't let me post more than 2 links) this documentation on the XRDP sourceforge page which describes keymap file format. It indicates the values in the keymap files are unicode 0x64 etc, however the files I have already on my system seem to use a different format 0:0 or 65307:27 etc, does anybody know what the difference is?

  • Linksys router cannot change default password

    My wireless internet suddenly stopped working today. I have Windows 7 and Lindsys WRT54G router. I tried to log into the Linksys setup router page by typing in www.192.168.1.1 into firefox and it prompted me for a username and password as usual. The problem is when i tried to enter my regular username and password it did not work. I finally solved my problem when I came across this post here and the very last post solved my problem. It suggested I try username: root / password: admin. For some reason the username and password has been changed. When i tried username: root / password: admin , it worked and allowed me to get into the Linksys setup page. The problem is I can't change the username or password anymore. Every time I want to log into my Linksys setup page I have to enter username: root / password: admin. I can't change the "WPA shared key" (password). For the security settings I selected WPA2Personal + AES. Also the post said "If the firmware was upgraded to non-linksys firmware - the default will be different" . The problem is I didn't update anything and I'm worried that someone installed a virus or something or somehow changed the firmware on my router. How did I get non-Linksys firmware on my router? EDIT: I figured out how to change the password when I log into the Lynksys setup page. Administration -- Management -- password. I still don't understand if my router firmware was changed or who changed it or if it happened by mistake.

  • newbie: Allow domain users to change power-savings settings

    I've just recently installed SMS 2011 on a server and added several computers to it's domain. Now I've noticed that I cannot change power settings (even when logged in as user who is in Domain Administrator role, let's call it Admin for future reference). After some googling I ended up adding Admin to the local administrators group using Group Policy Management Editor (as I have no experience in server administration I'm not sure I did it right: I went to Policy Management, selected Forest: xxxxx - Domains - xxxxx - Group Policy Objects - Windows SBS Client - Windows 7 and Windows Vista Policy - go to Settings tab on the right and right-click on anything and select Edit to go to Group Policy Mangement Editor - User Configuration - Preferences - Control Panel Settings - Local Users and Groups - right-click on it and select New - Local Group, then set Action to "Update", Group Name to "Administrators (built-in)", and added Admin to Members). After that I was able to change the power-savings settings on client computers(when logged in as Admin). Now the question: what should I do to allow any domain user to change this settings? Notice, I do not want to force some predefined power plan to all computers, I want to set it up so that any domain user on any client computer would be able to select a different power plan and to make any adjustments to the selected one. Thank you for any suggestions, just keep in mind that I'm newbie (but not completely dumb), so please answer accordingly :)

  • How to find relation between change in latitudes at centre of map and top/bottom

    Hi, Im having little trouble finding a relation between the movement at centre and edge of a circle, Im doing for panning world map,my map extent is 180,89:-180,-89, my map pans by adding change(dx,dY) to its extents and not its centre. Now a situation has arrrised where I have to move the map to a specific centre, to calculate the change in longitudes is very easy and simple, but its the change in lattitudes that has caused problem. It seems the change in centreY of map is more than the change at edge of the mapY, or simply if I have to move the map centre from 0long,0lat to 73long,33lat, for dX I simply get 73, but for dY apparently it looks 33 but if i add 33 to top of map that is 89 , it will be 122 which is incorrect since Latitudes are between 90 and -90 . It seems a case a projection of a circle on 2D plane where the edge of circle since is moving backward due to angle expereinces less change and the centre expereinces more change, now is there a relation between these two factors? I tried converting the difference between OriginY and destinationY into radians and then add to Top and Bottom of Map, but it did'nt really work for me.
