  • Dijit Combobox filter autocomplete

    - by Apps
    I'm using dijit combobox for populating a JSON List. Also I'm using ItemFileReadStore for getting the JSON data from the server. Once the data is downloaded, when I click on the combobox it shows all the data. But I don't want the user to see all the data. The user should see the list only when he types something. I tried using queryExpr parameter-${0}*. But at that time the list is not populated.Can someone please help me to fix it? Any help will be greatly appreciated Thanks, Apps

  • jQuery AJAX & Multiple sp Result Sets

    - by Kevin
    Is it possible to use a stored procedure that returns multiple result sets in json format and process them as part of one request using ajax calls in jquery? In other words, I have a stored procedure that returns several result sets that are to be used with a series of select boxes that are all being filtered by the same criteria. If any of the select boxes is chosen that value is then passed to the stored procedure and all the subsequent select box updates reflect only results that match the filtered criteria. I don't want to have to call the same sp multiple times to process the results and was trying not to create multiple queries, so I'm wondering if it's possible to store more than one json result in a single request and then store and process them on the client side.

  • any way to use ajax with jstl customtags without duplicating tags in javascript?

    - by CodeMonkeyB
    I am working on a page where part of the content is loaded normally and the pages are rendered using jsps. The product images and links generated on that page are by custom jstl tags. When the user scrolls more products are requested from the server in a JSON response and then using UnderscoreJS templates they are rendered and added to the bottom of the page. Is there any way I can use the JSTL tags in Javascript without recreating them using a javascript function (it won't be possible to re-create all of them in javascript). What is the best way to handle this scenario? I guess I could return a rendered html response for the ajax call, but that would mean I have some ajax requests which use json and some that use rendered html...

  • What is the best way to pass server side variables to JavaScript on the client side?

    - by steve_c
    Our application uses a lot of configuration options. Those options need to be reflected on the client side in the form of User preferences, site wide preferences, etc. Currently, we pass server side settings down to the client side in the form of JSON that is stored in custom attributes in the markup for a specific element (and no, our application currently doesn't worry about W3C validation). We then retrieve the data from the custom attribute, and parse it into a JSON object for use in script using jQuery. One drawback to this is referencing attributes on elements from within event handlers. I know this is frowned upon, as it can create circular references, and subsequently memory leaks. I would much prefer to use jQuery's data function, but you can't invoke this from the server side at page render time. What does everyone else do in this type of scenario?

  • Convert UTC date to actual date and time

    - by evann
    I have a chart of bitcoin prices. I have the correct prices on the Y-axis, but I cannot get the correct time on the X-axis. The time shows up in a UTC format in my console. I am adding price and date to the series each iteration. I need to get the date of that particular result and find the YEAR, MONTH and DAY of that so I can put it in the right format. Any help is appreciated thanks. $.ajax({ url: "/chart/ajax_get_chart", // the URL of the controller action method dataType: "json", type: "GET", success: function (result) { var result = JSON.parse(result); series = []; for (var i = 0; i < result.length; i++) { tempArray = [parseFloat(result[i]['price'])]; tempDate = Date.parse(result[i]['date']); series.push(tempDate); series.push(tempArray); }

  • Is it possible to optimize maven dependencies automatically?

    - by AlexR
    I am working on a big project that consists of about 40 sub-projects with very not optimized dependencies. There are declared dependencies that are not in use as well as used but undeclared dependencies. The second case is possible when dependency is added via other dependency. I want to remove redundant and add required dependencies. I ran mvn dependency:analyze and got a long list of warnings I have to fix now. I wonder whether there is maven plugin or any other utility that can update my pom.xml files automatically. I tried to do it manually but it takes a lot of time. It seems it will take a couple of days of copy/paste to complete the task. In worse case I can write such script myself but probably ready stuff exists? Here is how mvn dependency:analyze reports dependency warnings: [WARNING] Used undeclared dependencies found: [WARNING] org.apache.httpcomponents:httpcore:jar:4.1:compile [WARNING] Unused declared dependencies found: [WARNING] commons-lang:commons-lang:jar:2.4:compile [WARNING] org.json:json:jar:20090211:compile

  • Remove Validation in ASP.NET MVC 3

    - by johndoe
    I am trying to get remote validation working in ASP.NET MVC 3 but for some reason the validation never gets fired. I am returning json from the controller and in FireFox it ask me to download the files. Not sure what is going on here. Here is my code: @using(Html.BeginForm(new {Action = "ValidateUserName"})) { <text> Enter UserName: </text> @Html.TextBoxFor(x => x.UserName) <input type="submit" value="Login" /> } Here is the RegistrationViewModel: public class RegistrationViewModel { [Required(ErrorMessage = "UserName is required!")] [Remote("ValidateUserName","Home",ErrorMessage ="UserName already taken!")] public string UserName { get; set; } } And here is the HomeController: public ActionResult ValidateUserName(RegistrationViewModel registrationViewModel) { return Json(!registrationViewModel.UserName.Equals("test"),JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet); }

  • Want to add a new property to a class, can I use anonymous functions for this?

    - by Blankman
    I have 2 Lists: List<User> List<UserStats> So I want to add a property Count to User (it doesn't have one now, and I can't change the implementation at this point). For a web service call, that returns json, I want to modify the User object. Basically I add the Users to a collection. So I want to add a modified user class (via anonymous functions?) to the collection before I serialize it to json. So something like: loop users { user.Count = userstats[user.ID].Count; list.Add(user); } is this possible? how?

  • JQuery Ajax Always Fires Error Function

    - by CccTrash
    AddFileToDB.ashx: public void ProcessRequest (HttpContext context) { context.Response.ContentType = "application/json"; context.Response.Write("{ \"filename\": \"test.jpg\" }"); } JQuery: $.ajax({ url: 'AddFileToDB.ashx', dataType: 'json', success: function(data) { alert(data.filename); }, error: function(data) { alert('error'); }, }); This always results in the error function being called. I don't know why? Thoughts? AddFileToDB.ashx gets fired, but success never gets run.

  • Can you make a python script behave differently when imported than when run directly?

    - by futuraprime
    I often have to write data parsing scripts, and I'd like to be able to run them in two different ways: as a module and as a standalone script. So, for example: def parseData(filename): # data parsing code here return data def HypotheticalCommandLineOnlyHappyMagicFunction(): print json.dumps(parseData(sys.argv[1]), indent=4) the idea here being that in another python script I can call import dataparser and have access to dataParser.parseData in my script, or on the command line I can just run python dataparser.py and it would run my HypotheticalCommandLineOnlyHappyMagicFunction and shunt the data as json to stdout. Is there a way to do this in python?

  • JQuery Ajax Updating MySQL Database, But Not Running Success Function

    - by myrmidon16
    I am currently using the JQuery ajax function to call an exterior PHP file, in which I select and add data in a database. Once this is done, I run a success function in JavaScript. What's weird is that the database is updating successfully when ajax is called, however the success function is not running. Here is my code: <!DOCTYPE html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.6.4.js"></script> </head> <body> <div onclick="addtask();" style="width:400px; height:200px; background:#000000;"></div> <script> function addtask() { var tid = (Math.floor(Math.random() * 3)) + 1; var tsk = (Math.floor(Math.random() * 10)) + 1; if(tsk !== 1) { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "taskcheck.php", dataType: "json", data: {taskid:tid}, success: function(task) {alert(task.name);} }); } } </script> </body> </html> And the PHP file: session_start(); $connect = mysql_connect('x', 'x', 'x') or die('Not Connecting'); mysql_select_db('x') or die ('No Database Selected'); $task = $_REQUEST['taskid']; $uid = $_SESSION['user_id']; $q = "SELECT task_id, taskname FROM tasks WHERE task_id=" .$task. " LIMIT 1"; $gettask = mysql_fetch_assoc(mysql_query($q)); $q = "INSERT INTO user_tasks (ut_id, user_id, task_id, taskstatus, taskactive) VALUES (null, " .$uid. ", '{$gettask['task_id']}', 0, 1)"; $puttask = mysql_fetch_assoc(mysql_query($q)); $json = array( "name" => $gettask['taskname'] ); $output = json_encode($json); echo $output; Let me know if you have any questions or comments, thanks.

  • Reload AJAX data every X minutes/seconds, jQuery

    - by NightMICU
    Hi everyone, I programmed a CMS that has a log of who has recently logged into the system. Presently, this data is fed into a jQuery UI tab via Ajax. I would like to put this information into a sidebar on the main page and load it via AJAX every 30 seconds (or some set period of time). How would I go about doing this? Does the PHP response need to be JSON coded? I am fairly new to AJAX and JSON data. Here is the PHP I am currently using to pull details from the users table- <?php $loginLog = $db->query("SELECT name_f, name_l, DATE_FORMAT(lastLogin, '%a, %b %D, %Y %h:%i %p') AS lastLogin FROM user_control ORDER BY lastLogin ASC LIMIT 10"); while ($recentLogin = $loginLog->fetch()) { echo $recentLogin['name_f'] . " " . $recentLogin['name_l'] . " - " . $recentLogin['lastLogin']; } ?> Thanks!

  • Django: Data corrupted after loading? (possible programmer error)

    - by Rosarch
    I may be loading data the wrong way. excerpt of data.json: { "pk": "1", "model": "myapp.Course", "fields": { "name": "Introduction to Web Design", "requiredFor": [9], "offeringSchool": 1, "pre_reqs": [], "offeredIn": [1, 5, 9] } }, I run python manage.py loaddata -v2 data: Installed 36 object(s) from 1 fixture(s) Then, I go to check the above object using the Django shell: >>> info = Course.objects.filter(id=1) >>> info.get().pre_reqs.all() [<Course: Intermediate Web Programming>] # WRONG! There should be no pre-reqs >>> from django.core import serializers >>> serializers.serialize("json", info) '[{"pk": 1, "model": "Apollo.course", "fields": {"pre_reqs": [11], "offeredIn": [1, 5, 9], "offeringSchool": 1, "name": "Introduction to Web Design", "requiredFor": [9]}}]' The serialized output of the model is not the same as the input that was given to loaddata. The output has a non-empty pre_req list, whereas the input's pre_reqs field is empty. What am I doing wrong?

  • Calling ASP.NET web service function via GET method with jQuery

    - by the_V
    Hi, I'm trying to call web service function via GET method using jQuery, but having a problem. This is a web service code: [WebService(Namespace = "http://something.com/samples")] [ScriptService] [WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1)] public class TestWebService : System.Web.Services.WebService { [WebMethod] public string Test2() { string result = null; try { result = "{'result':'success', 'datetime':'" + DateTime.Now.ToString() + "'"; } catch (Exception ex) { result = "Something wrong happened"; } return result; } } That's the way I call the function: $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "http://localhost/testwebsite/TestWebService.asmx/Test2", data: "{}", contentType: "application/json", dataType: "json", error: function (xhr, status, error) { alert(xhr.responseText); }, success: function (msg) { alert('Call was successful!'); } }); Method is called successfully, but result string gets covered by XML tags, like this: <string> {'result':'success', 'datetime':'4/26/2010 12:11:18 PM' </string> And I get an error because of this (error handler is called). Does anybody know what can be done about this?

  • Need simple Twitter API v1.1 example to show timeline using jQuery or C# ASP.NET

    - by Ken Palmer
    With Twitter turning off the API 1.0 faucet on 6/11/2013, we have several sites that now fail to display timelines. I've been looking for an "If you did that, now do this" example. Here was Twitter's announcement. https://dev.twitter.com/blog/api-v1-is-retired Here is what we were originally doing to show the Twitter timeline via API 1.0. <div id="twitter"> <ul id="twitter_update_list"></ul> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://twitter.com/javascripts/blogger.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline/companytwitterhandle.json?callback=twitterCallback2&amp;count=1"></script> <div style="float:left;"><a href="https://twitter.com/companytwitterhandle" target="_blank">@companytwitterhandle</a> | </div> <div class="twitterimg">&nbsp;</div> </div> Initially I tried changing the version in the JavaScript reference URL like so, which did not work. <script type="text/javascript" src="http://api.twitter.com/1.1/statuses/user_timeline/companytwitterhandle.json?callback=twitterCallback2&amp;count=1"></script> Then I looked at the Twitter API documentation (https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/overview) which lacks a clear transition example. I don't have 4 or 5 hours to delve into that, or into this disheveled FAQ (https://dev.twitter.com/docs/faq#17750). Then I found this API documentation regarding the user timeline. So I changed the URL again as shown below. https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/get/statuses/user_timeline <script type="text/javascript" src="https://api.twitter.com/1.1/statuses/user_timeline.json?screen_name=companytwitterhandle&amp;count=1"></script> That did not work. Using jQuery or C# ASP.NET MVC, how can I transition that interface from Twitter API 1.0 to Twitter API 1.1? My first preference would be for a browser client side implementation if that is possible. Please include a code example. Thanks.

  • Unexpected token from webservice

    - by Kenneth B
    I got this little snippet where I call a Battlefield 3 stat server. If you visit this URL, which I'm calling, we'll be getting no errors: http://api.bf3stats.com/pc/server/?output=json&id=534f7035-cef8-48aa-b233-8d44a0956e68 But when I try to get the stats via Ajax call, I get: Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token : ... In my console I can see that the response is coming in, as when I visit the url, but I can't get the data with the ajax call... Is there something wrong with my code??? $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "http://api.bf3stats.com/pc/server/?output=json&id=534f7035-cef8-48aa-b233-8d44a0956e68", dataType: "jsonp", success: function(response) { console.log(response); } }); Thank you in advance...
