  • Highlighting text beween custom tags

    In a xhtml, i want to highlight the text between two self closing tags s1 and s2 whose attribute value is the same. Eg. <s1 ind="1"/> and <s2 ind="1" /> Eg. <html> <body> <a> <b>Some <s1 ind="1"/> text</b> <c>data <s2 ind="1"/>here</c> </a> </body> </html> I want "text data" to get highlighted. Is is possible to achieve using javascript/jquery? I could have many such self closing tag pairs s1 and s2 with a unique value for "ind" for the pair indicating that the text within them needs to be highlighted.

  • Rendering problem with UITableview

    I have a very strange problem with a UITableview within a navigation controller on the iPhone simulator. Of the cells displayed, only some are correctly rendered. They are all supposed to look the same but the majority are missing the accessory I've set, scrolling the view changes which cell has the accessory so I suspect it's some sort of cell caching happening, although the contents are correct for each cell. I also set an image as the background and that was also only displaying sporadically but I fixed that by changing cell.backgroundView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"yellow-bar_short.png"]]; (which also only rendered a random cell with the background) to cell.backgroundColor = [[UIColor alloc] initWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"yellow-bar_short.png"]]; I now need to fix the problem with the accessory only showing on a random cell. I tried moving the code from cellForRowAtIndex to willDisplayCell but it made no difference. I put in a log command to confirm that it is running through each frame. Basically it's a table view (UITableViewCellStyleSubtitle) that gets its info from a server & is then updated by a delegate method calling reload. I'd give the app away, make it open-source, but I would like to sell various maps to individual users. Is there a way to protect the data in such a way that makes it very difficult for someone to simply take the map they bought and distribute it to others? Is this feasible for an open source app?

  • Hibernate Unit tests - Reset schema

    Hi, I'm testing the CRUD operations of my DAOs in JUnit tests. When i execute the single test, Hibernate always resets the schema and populates the DB in a known state. But when i execute multiple tests in a row, Hibernate resets the schema once, and then the data is accumulated during the execution of the tests. This is an unexpected behavior, so I'd like to add in the @Before method of the tests a function that explicitly resets the schema to avoid the pesistence of side data created by previous tests during the execution chain. Any tips? Thanks

    Apologies if my terminology is off, I'm new to C#. I'm trying to use an ApplicationContext file to store mysql conn values, like dbname, username, password. The class with mysql conn string is "using" the namespace for the ApplicationContext, but when I print out the connection string, the values are making it. A friend said, "I'm not initializing it" but couldn't stay to expand on what "it" was. and the "Console.WriteLine("1");" in ApplicationContext.cs never shows up. Do I need to create an ApplicationContext object and the call Initialize() on that object? Thanks for any help.   • Which .NET exception to throw for invalid database state?

    I am writing some data access code and I want to check for potentially "invalid" data states in the database. For instance, I am returning a widget out of the database and I only expect one. If I get two, I want to throw an exception. Even though referential integrity should prevent this from occurring, I do not want to depend on the DBAs never changing the schema. I would like to use the System.IO.InvalidDataException, except that I am not dealing with a file stream so it would be misleading. I ended up going with a generic applicationexception. Anyone have a better idea?

  • Qt/C++ event loop exception handling

    I am having an application heavily based on QT and on a lot of third party libs. THese happen to throw some exceptions in several cases. In a native Qt App this causes the application to abort or terminate. Often the main data model is still intact as I am keeping it in pure Qt with no external data. So I am thinking that I could also just recover by telling the user that there has occured an error in this an that process and he should save now or even decide to continue working on the main model. Currently the program jsut silently exits without even telling a story. Please help.

    I have a vector declared as a global variable that I need to be able to reuse. If I do "objVector.clear()", it removes all 100 objects and I would have a vector with a size of 0. I need it to be a size of 100 at the start of every loop.

    I'm dealing with a problem which needs to work with a lot of data. Currently its values are represented as an unsigned int. I know that real values do not exceed a limit of 1000. Questions I can use unsigned short to store it. An upside to this is that it'll use less storage space to store the value. Will performance suffer? If I decided to store data as short but all the calling functions use int, it's recognized that I need to convert between these datatypes when storing or extracting values. Will performance suffer? Will the loss in performance be dramatic? If I decided to not use short but just 10 bits packed into an array of unsigned int. What will happen in this case comparing with previous ones?

Now i would like to change this using the Ajax. As Ajax too using the normal HTTP so i guess nothing in different from the existing workflow barring postback right ?     I am using the twang package to create propensity scores, which are used as weigtings in a binomial glm using survey::svyglm.     In most cases, it is possible to catch exceptions in Java, even unchecked ones. But, it is not necessarily possible to do something about it (for example out of memory). For other cases, the issue I am trying to solve is a design principle one. I am trying to set-up a design principle or a set of rules indicating when one should give up on an exceptional situation, even if it is detected in time. The objective is trying to not crash the application as much as possible. Has someone already brainstormed and communicated about this? I am looking for specific generic cases and possible solutions, or thumb-rules. UPDATE Suggestions so far: Stop running if data coherency can be compromised Stop running if data can be deleted Stop running if you can't do anything about it (Out of memory...) Stop running if key service is not available or becomes unavailable and cannot be restarted If application must be stopped, degrade as gracefully as possible Use rollbacks in db transactions Log as much relevant information as you can Notify the developers

    Hi al, we have 5 tables over which we should query with user search input throughout a stored procedure. We do a union all of the similar data inside a view. Because of this the view can not be materialized. We are not able to change these 5 tables drastically (like creating a 6th table that contains the similar data of the 5 tables and reference that new one from the 5 tables). The query is rather expensive / slow what are our other options? It's allowed to think outside the box.   • Where should I define Enums?

    Hi: I'm setting up a new app, with a Repository layer/assembly, a Services layer/assembly, and a UI assembly. So I end up with namespaces such as: App.UI App.Biz.Services App.Data.Repositories And then I have enums for the args that are used by all 3 layers. Only place that makes sense is to put them in the Cross cutting assembly. (define them in Data layer too low, as UI should have no direct ref to them, defined in Services, too high for Repository layer, which shouldn't be referencing upwards). But...which namespace in Common? Namespaces should mostly be used to define concerns, rather than Type... I've always used something like: namespace App.Common.Enums {...} but it's always felt a bit of a hack that works for me, but not well in a large org where everybody is generating Enums, and if we put them all in Enums folder it's going to make the code folder harder to understand later. Any suggestions?
