  • wpf progress bar slows 10x times serial port communications... how could be possible that?

    - by D_Guidi
    I know that this could look a dumb question, but here's my problem. I have a worker dialog that "hides" a backgroundworker, so in a worker thread I do my job, I report the progress in a standard way and then I show the results in my WPF program. The dialog contains a simply animated gif and a standard wpf progress bar, and when a progress is notified I set Value property. All lokks as usual and works well for any kind of job, like web service calls, db queries, background elaboration and so on. For my job we use also many "couplers", card readers that reads data from smart card, that are managed with native C code that access to serial port (so, I don't use .NET SerialPort object). I have some nunit tests and I read a sample card in 10 seconds, but using my actual program, under the backgroundworker and showing my worker dialog, I need 1.30 minutes to do the SAME job. I struggled into problem for days until I decide to remove the worker dialog, and without dialog I obtain the same performances of the tests! So I investigated, and It's not the dialog, not the animated gif, but the wpf progress bar! Simply the fact that a progress bar is shown (so, no animation, no Value set called, nothing of nothing) slows serialport communicatitons. Looks incredible? I've tested this behavior and it's exactly what happens.

  • c# warn if text box is empty or contains a non-whole number

    - by Jamaul Smith
    In my specific case, I need the value in propertyPriceTextBox to be numeric only, and a whole number. A value also has to be entered, and I can just Messagebox.Show() a warning and that's all I'd need to do. This is what I have so far. private void computeButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { decimal propertyPrice; if ((decimal.TryParse(propertyPriceTextBox.Text, out propertyPrice))) decimal.Parse(propertyPriceTextBox.Text); { if (residentialRadioButton.Checked == true) commisionLabel.Text = (residentialCom * propertyPrice).ToString("c"); if (commercialRadioButton.Checked == true) commisionLabel.Text = (commercialCom * propertyPrice).ToString("c"); if (hillsRadioButton.Checked == true) countySalesTaxTextBox.Text = ( hilssTax * propertyPrice).ToString("c"); if (pascoRadioButton.Checked == true) countySalesTaxTextBox.Text = (pascoTax * propertyPrice).ToString("c"); if (polkRadioButton.Checked == true) countySalesTaxTextBox.Text = (polkTax * propertyPrice).ToString("c"); decimal result; result = (countySalesTaxTextBox.Text + stateSalesTaxTextBox.Text + propertyPriceTextBox.Text + comissionTextBox.Text).ToString("c"); } else (.) MessageBox.Show("Property Price must be a whole number."); }

  • how to get data from another file?

    - by Ronnie Chester Lynwood
    hey guys i got this jquery codes: jQuery(function ($) { var OSX = { container: null, init: function () { $("input.osx, a.osx").click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); $("#osx-modal-content").modal({ overlayId: 'osx-overlay', containerId: 'osx-container', closeHTML: null, minHeight: 80, opacity: 65, position: ['0',], overlayClose: true, onOpen: OSX.open, onClose: OSX.close }); }); }, open: function (d) { var self = this; self.container = d.container[0]; d.overlay.fadeIn('slow', function () { $("#osx-modal-content", self.container).show(); var title = $("#osx-modal-title", self.container); title.show(); d.container.slideDown('slow', function () { setTimeout(function () { var h = $("#osx-modal-data", self.container).height() + title.height() + 20; // padding d.container.animate( {height: h}, 200, function () { $("div.close", self.container).show(); $("#osx-modal-data", self.container).show(); } ); }, 300); }); }) }, close: function (d) { var self = this; // this = SimpleModal object d.container.animate( {top:"-" + (d.container.height() + 20)}, 500, function () { self.close(); // or $.modal.close(); } ); } }; OSX.init(); }); this js is gets #osx-modal-content,#osx-modal-title,#osx-modal-data from index.php. how can i get divs from another page? thanks

  • Trouble swapping values as keys in generic java BST class

    - by user1729869
    I was given a generic binary search tree class with the following declaration: public class BST<K extends Comparable<K>, V> I was asked to write a method that reverses the BST such that the values become the keys and keys become values. When I call the following method (defined in the class given) reverseDict.put(originalDict.get(key), key); I get the following two error messages from Netbeans: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.RuntimeException: Uncompilable source code - Erroneous sym type: BST.put And also: no suitable method found for put(V,K) method BST.put(BST<K,V>.Node,K,V) is not applicable (actual and formal argument lists differ in length) method BST.put(K,V) is not applicable (actual argument V cannot be converted to K by method invocation conversion) where V,K are type-variables: V extends Object declared in method <K,V>reverseBST(BST<K,V>) K extends Comparable<K> declared in method <K,V>reverseBST(BST<K,V>) From what the error messages are telling me, since my values do not extend Comparable I am unable to use them as keys. If I am right, how can I get around that without changing the class given (maybe a cast)?

  • Named pipe stalls threads?

    - by entens
    I am attempting to push updates into a process via a named pipe, but in doing so my process loop now seams to stall on while ((line = sr.ReadLine()) != null). I'm a little mystified as to what might be wrong as this is my first foray into named pipes. void RefreshThread() { using (NamedPipeServerStream pipeStream = new NamedPipeServerStream("processPipe", PipeDirection.In)) { pipeStream.WaitForConnection(); using (StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(pipeStream)) { for (; ; ) { if (StopThread == true) { StopThread = false; return; // exit loop and terminate the thread } // push update for heartbeat int HeartbeatHandle = ItemDictionary["Info.Heartbeat"]; int HeartbeatValue = (int)Config.Items[HeartbeatHandle].Value; Config.Items[HeartbeatHandle].Value = ++HeartbeatValue; SetItemValue(HeartbeatHandle, HeartbeatValue, (short)0xC0, DateTime.Now); string line = null; while ((line = sr.ReadLine()) != null) { // line is in the format: item, value, timestamp string[] parts = line.Split(','); // push update and store value in item cache int handle = ItemDictionary[parts[0]]; object value = parts[1]; Config.Items[handle].Value = int.Parse(value); DateTime timestamp = DateTime.FromBinary(long.Parse(parts[2])); SetItemValue(handle, value, (short)0xC0, timestamp); } Thread.Sleep(500); } } } }

  • eclipse error with android: id cannot be resolved or is not a field

    - by Jaynathan Leung
    Hi, I just started playing around with android development, and already with just an attempt at making a button, I have encountered a problem. The error I'm given in the following code is right on "R.id.button1". It says id cannot be resolved or is not a field. Do I need to manually reference every single object I make in the layout xml file? I found that this did work, but it does seem to be a bit much for every button I want to make... package com.example.helloandroid; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.view.View.OnClickListener; import android.widget.Button; public class HelloAndroid extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ private Button button1; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); button1 = (Button)findViewById(R.id.button1); button1.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { finish(); } }); } }

  • InPlaceBitmapMetadataWriter.TrySave() returns true but does nothing

    - by mephisto123
    On some .JPG files (EPS previews, generated by Adobe Illustrator) in Windows 7 InPlaceBitmapMetadataWriter.TrySave() returns true after some SetQuery() calls, but does nothing. Code sample: BitmapDecoder decoder; BitmapFrame frame; BitmapMetadata metadata; InPlaceBitmapMetadataWriter writer; decoder = BitmapDecoder.Create(s, BitmapCreateOptions.PreservePixelFormat | BitmapCreateOptions.IgnoreColorProfile, BitmapCacheOption.Default); frame = decoder.Frames[0]; metadata = frame.Metadata as BitmapMetadata; writer = frame.CreateInPlaceBitmapMetadataWriter(); try { writer.SetQuery("System.Title", title); writer.SetQuery(@"/app1/ifd/{ushort=" + exiftagids[0] + "} ", (title + '\0').ToCharArray()); writer.SetQuery(@"/app13/irb/8bimiptc/iptc/object name", title); return writer.TrySave(); } catch { return false; } Image sample You can reproduce problem (if you have Windows 7) by downloading image sample and using this code sample to set title on this image. Image has enough room for metadata - and this code sample works fine on my WinXP. Same code works fine on Win7 with other .JPG files. Any ideas are welcome :)

  • which is better: a lying copy constructor or a non-standard one?

    - by PaulH
    I have a C++ class that contains a non-copyable handle. The class, however, must have a copy constructor. So, I've implemented one that transfers ownership of the handle to the new object (as below) class Foo { public: Foo() : h_( INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE ) { }; // transfer the handle to the new instance Foo( const Foo& other ) : h_( other.Detach() ) { }; ~Foo() { if( INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE != h_ ) CloseHandle( h_ ); }; // other interesting functions... private: /// disallow assignment const Foo& operator=( const Foo& ); HANDLE Detach() const { HANDLE h = h_; h_ = INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE; return h; }; /// a non-copyable handle mutable HANDLE h_; }; // class Foo My problem is that the standard copy constructor takes a const-reference and I'm modifying that reference. So, I'd like to know which is better (and why): a non-standard copy constructor: Foo( Foo& other ); a copy-constructor that 'lies': Foo( const Foo& other ); Thanks, PaulH

  • Complex orderby question (entity framework)

    - by PFranchise
    Ok, so I will start by saying that I am new to all this stuff, and doing my best to work on this project. I have an employee object, that contains a supervisor field. When someone enters a search on my page, a datagrid displays employees whose name match the search. But, I need it to display all employees that report to them and a third tier of employees that report to the original employee's underlings. I only need three tiers. To make this easier, employees only come in 3 ranks, so if rank==3, that employee is not in charge of others. I imagine the best method of retrieving all these employees from my employee table would be something like from employee in context.employees where employee.name == search || employee.boss.name == search || employee.boss.boss.name == search But I am not sure how to make the orderby appear the way I want to. I need it to display in tiers. So, it will look like: Big Boss Boss underling underling Boss underling Boss Boss Big Boss Like I said, there might be an easier way to approach this whole issue, and if there is, I am all ears. Any advice you can give would be HIGHLY appreciated.

  • Programmatically parse and edit C++ Source Files

    - by Kryten
    Hi, I want to able programmatically parse and edit C++ source files. I need to be able to change/add code in certain sections of code (i.e. in functions, class blocks, etc). I would also (preferably) be able to get comments as well. Part of what I want to do can be explained by the following piece of code: CPlusPlusSourceParser cp = new CPlusPlusSourceParser(“x.cpp”); // Create C++ Source Parser Object CPlusPlusSourceFunction[] funcs = cp.getFunctions(); // Get all the functions for (int i = 0; i &lt funcs.length; i++) { // Loop through all functions funcs[i].append(/* … code I want to append …*/); // Append some code to function } cp.save(); // Save new source cp.close(); // Close file How can I do that? I’d like to be able to do this preferably in Java, C++, Perl, Python or C#. However, I am open to other language API’s.

  • What is the best practice for including jQuery ext functions?

    - by Metropolis
    Hey everyone, Currently I have a file that I named JQuery.ext.js which I am including in all of my pages. Inside this file I have numerous functions that do things like the following, (function($) { /** * Checks to see is the value inside ele is blank * @param message string The message that needs to be displayed if the element is blank * @return bool */ $.fn.isEmpty = function(message) { var b_IsEmpty = false; //Loop through all elements this.each(function() { //Check to see if an empty value is found if($(this).val().length <= 0) { //If message is not blank if(message) { alert(message); $(this).focus().select(); } b_IsEmpty = true; return false; } return true; }); //Return false if the evaluation failed, otherwise return the jquery object so we can reuse it return (b_IsEmpty) ? true : false; }; /** * Checks to see if the value inside ele is numbers only * @param message string The message that needs to be displayed if the element is not numeric * @return bool */ $.fn.isNumeric = function(message) { var expression = /^[0-9]+$/; var b_IsNumeric = true; //Loop through elements checking each one this.each( function() { //Check to see if this value is not numeric if(!$(this).val().match(expression) && $(this).val().length > 0) { //If message is not blank if(message) { alert(message); $(this).focus().select(); } b_IsNumeric = false; } return b_IsNumeric; }); return b_IsNumeric; }; })(jQuery); Is there another way to do this? or is this the way most people do it? Thanks for any help, Metropolis

  • Bind to a markup externsion property

    - by user314580
    Hi, I have written a markup extension which stores amongst others a help text. This help text is shown on the right side of the main window. This works fine. Now, I want to add a tooltip for every control. The content of the tooltip should be same as for the helptext extension. The XAML code: <ListView ctrl:ListViewLayoutManager.Enabled="true" x:Name="ListViewSources" ItemsSource="{Binding SourceItems}" ItemContainerStyle="{DynamicResource ListViewItemStyleAlternate}" Height="150" MinWidth="350" Helper:HelpExtension.IsControl="true" Helper:HelpExtension.HelpText="{x:Static strings:GUIResource.HelpProfilesSourcesDescriptionText}" > <ListView.ToolTip> <ToolTip Style="{DynamicResource Own_TooltipStyle}"></ToolTip> </ListView.ToolTip> And now the code of the style: If I run the program I get the binding error: System.Windows.Data Error: 39 : BindingExpression path error: 'Helper:HelpExtension' property not found on 'object' ''ListView' (Name='ListViewSources')'. BindingExpression:Path=Helper:HelpExtension.HelpText; DataItem='ListView' (Name='ListViewSources'); target element is 'TextBlock' (Name=''); target property is 'Text' (type 'String') Does anybody know how I can bind the TextBlock to the content of Helper:HelpExternsion.HelpText? Thanks Dieter

  • Entity Framework one-to-one relationship mapping flattened in code

    - by Josh Close
    I have a table structure like so. Address: AddressId int not null primary key identity ...more columns AddressContinental: AddressId int not null primary key identity foreign key to pk of Address County State AddressInternational: AddressId int not null primary key identity foreign key to pk of Address ProvinceRegion I don't have control over schema, this is just the way it is. Now, what I want to do is have a single Address object. public class Address { public int AddressId { get; set; } public County County { get; set; } public State State { get; set } public ProvinceRegion { get; set; } } I want to have EF pull it out of the database as a single entity. When saving, I want to save the single entity and have EF know to split it into the three tables. How would I map this in EF 4.1 Code First? I've been searching around and haven't found anything that meets my case yet. UPDATE An address record will have a record in Address and one in either AddressContinental or AddressInternational, but not both.

  • Copy SQL From Access To Delphi Script

I use three object T_Customer, QUnionSAPiutang, and QSumSAPiutang. Where the red text is a part of QSumSAPiutang. coz QSumSAPiutang not directly Join with the others, it is call with DSum. Please help me, Thank you for your time. I hope reply from you soon....

  • optimize output value using a class and public member

    - by wiso
    Suppose you have a function, and you call it a lot of times, every time the function return a big object. I've optimized the problem using a functor that return void, and store the returning value in a public member: #include <vector> const int N = 100; std::vector<double> fun(const std::vector<double> & v, const int n) { std::vector<double> output = v; output[n] *= output[n]; return output; } class F { public: F() : output(N) {}; std::vector<double> output; void operator()(const std::vector<double> & v, const int n) { output = v; output[n] *= n; } }; int main() { std::vector<double> start(N,10.); std::vector<double> end(N); double a; // first solution for (unsigned long int i = 0; i != 10000000; ++i) a = fun(start, 2)[3]; // second solution F f; for (unsigned long int i = 0; i != 10000000; ++i) { f(start, 2); a = f.output[3]; } } Yes, I can use inline or optimize in an other way this problem, but here I want to stress on this problem: with the functor I declare and construct the output variable output only one time, using the function I do that every time it is called. The second solution is two time faster than the first with g++ -O1 or g++ -O2. What do you think about it, is it an ugly optimization?

  • can this problem be solved with a single SQL query?

    - by PierrOz
    I have the two following tables (with some sample datas) LOGS: ID | SETID | DATE ======================== 1 | 1 | 2010-02-25 2 | 2 | 2010-02-25 3 | 1 | 2010-02-26 4 | 2 | 2010-02-26 5 | 1 | 2010-02-27 6 | 2 | 2010-02-27 7 | 1 | 2010-02-28 8 | 2 | 2010-02-28 9 | 1 | 2010-03-01 STATS: ID | OBJECTID | FREQUENCY | STARTID | ENDID ============================================= 1 | 1 | 0.5 | 1 | 5 2 | 2 | 0.6 | 1 | 5 3 | 3 | 0.02 | 1 | 5 4 | 4 | 0.6 | 2 | 6 5 | 5 | 0.6 | 2 | 6 6 | 6 | 0.4 | 2 | 6 7 | 1 | 0.35 | 3 | 7 8 | 2 | 0.6 | 3 | 7 9 | 3 | 0.03 | 3 | 7 10 | 4 | 0.6 | 4 | 8 11 | 5 | 0.6 | 4 | 8 7 | 1 | 0.45 | 5 | 9 8 | 2 | 0.6 | 5 | 9 9 | 3 | 0.02 | 5 | 9 Every day new logs are analyzed on different sets of objects and stored in table LOGS. Among other processes, some statistics are computed on the objects contained into these sets and the result are stored in table STATS. These statistic are computed through several logs (identified by the STARTID and ENDID columns). So, what could be the SQL query that would give me the latest computed stats for all the objects with the corresponding log dates. In the given example, the result rows would be: OBJECTID | SETID | FREQUENCY | STARTDATE | ENDDATE ====================================================== 1 | 1 | 0.45 | 2010-02-27 | 2010-03-01 2 | 1 | 0.6 | 2010-02-27 | 2010-03-01 3 | 1 | 0.02 | 2010-02-27 | 2010-03-01 4 | 2 | 0.6 | 2010-02-26 | 2010-02-28 5 | 2 | 0.6 | 2010-02-26 | 2010-02-28 So, the most recent stats for set 1 are computed with logs from feb 27 to march 1 whereas stats for set 2 are computed from feb 26 to feb 28. object 6 is not in the results rows as there is no stat on it within the last period of time. Last thing, I use MySQL. Any Idea ?

  • CherryPy always returning HTTP 200 [closed]

    - by DarkArctic
    I'm having a bit of a problem when browsing to a non-existent resource. I get a response code of 200 instead of 404. I'm using the MethodDispatcher and I have a class that overloads the __getattr__ method to instantiate a resource if a child exists or to return AttributeError if one doesn't. My class is always returning the AttributeError correctly, but the data I actually get is always from the last good resource. Here's a simplified (except for __getattr__) version of my class: class BaseResource(object): exposed = True def __init__(self, name): self.children = [] # Pretend this has child resources def __getattr__(self, name): if name in self._children: uuid, application, obj_type, server = self._children[name] try: resource = getattr(app[application], obj_type) except AttributeError as e: raise cherrypy.HTTPError(500, e) return resource(uuid) else: raise AttributeError('Child with name \'{}\' could not be found.'.format(name)) def GET(self): cherrypy.log.error('*** {} not found, raising AttributeError'.format(name)) return 'GET request for {}'.format(self._name) So fetching I get the following when I browse to the following resources: http://localhost:8000/users - This resource exists, so it returns it correctly. http://localhost:8000/users/fake - This returns the "users" resource giving an HTTP 200. http://localhost:8000/users/fake/reallyfake - This returns the "users" resource again. So my question is, where can I start looking to find out why my code isn't returning a 404 for a non-existent resource. I'm sure I've done something wrong, but I'm not sure what. Whatever I did wrong I've undone and I'm now getting a 404 returned correctly. I'm sorry I can't give any detail on what the issue was, but I'm honestly not sure what I did.

  • Syncing Data to Remote Services, Best Practices for Caching?

    - by viatropos
    I want to be able to publish events to Eventbrite, Eventful, and Google Calendar for my Google Apps. Each service has slightly different properties for events... I will be syncing many other things too, such as users with Google Contacts and MailChimp, Documents with Google Docs and some other services, etc... So I'm wondering, what is the recommended way of retrieving the data for the end user so that it's reasonably maintainable and optimized? Here are the things I'm thinking that I'm having trouble with: My App keeps a central database of all the models (Event, Document, User, Form, etc.), and whenever Admin creates an object (e.g. create through Eventbrite or through our Admin panel), we sync them and store a copy in our local database. When User goes to the site /events, App retrieves the events from the database. Read Events from a target feed, such as the Eventbrite or Eventful feed, and scrap the local database. Basically, I'm wondering, if we're storing all of the data on a remote service, do we really need to have a local database copy of the data? When would we need to have a local database, when wouldn't we?

  • How to Prevent PostBack Event Handler from Firing

    - by user331744
    I have a custom class (ServerSideValidator.vb) that validates user input on server side (it doesn't use any of the .NET built in validators, therefore Page.Validate() is not an option for me). I am calling the Validate() method on page.IsPostback event and the class performs without any problem My issue is, when validation fails (returns false), I want to stop the postback event handler from firing, but load the page along with all the controls and user-input values in them. If I do, Response.End(), the page comes up blank. I can programmatically instruct the page to go to the previous page (original form before postback), but it loses all user-inputs. I thought of creating a global boolean variable in the page code behind file and check the value before performing any postback method, but this approach takes away from my plan to provide all functionalities inside the class itself. The page object is being referenced to ServerSideValidator. Seems like all the postback related properties/variables I come across inside Page class are 'Readonly' and I can't assign value(s) to control/prevent postback event from firing. Any idiea on how I can accomplish this? Please let me know if you need further details

  • Should I use early returns in C#?

    - by Bobby
    I've learned Visual Basic and was always taught to keep the flow of the program without interruptions, like Goto, Exit and Return. Using nested ifs instead of one return statement seems very natural to me. Now that I'm partly migrating towards C#, I wonder what the best practice is for C-like languages. I've been working on a C# project for some time, and of course discover more code of ExampleB and it's hurting my mind somehow. But what is the best practice for this, what is more often used and are there any reasons against one of the styles? public void ExampleA() { if (a != b) { if (a != c) { bool foundIt; for (int i = 0; i < d.Count && !foundIt; i++) { if (element == f) foundIt = true; } } } } public void ExampleB() { if (a == b) return; if (a == c) return; foreach (object element in d) { if (element == f) break; } }

Everything is ok to add but I have table which is related with two tables with FOREIGN KEY.But Not working because of foreign key public class DomainRepository<TModel> : IDomainRepository<TModel> where TModel : class { #region IDomainRepository<T> Members private ObjectContext _context; private IObjectSet<TModel> _objectSet; public DomainRepository() { } public DomainRepository(ObjectContext context) { _context = context; _objectSet = _context.CreateObjectSet<TModel>(); } //do something..... public TModel Add<TModel>(TModel entity) where TModel : IEntityWithKey { EntityKey key; object originalItem; key = _context.CreateEntityKey(entity.GetType().Name, entity); _context.AddObject(key.EntitySetName, entity); _context.SaveChanges(); return entity; } //do something..... } Calling REPOSITORY: //insert-update-delete public partial class AddtoTables { public table3 Add(int TaskId, int RefAircraftsId) { using (DomainRepository<table3> repTask = new DomainRepository<table3>(new TaskEntities())) { return repTask.Add<table3>(new table3() { TaskId = TaskId, TaskRefAircraftsID = RefAircraftsId }); } } } How to add a new value if this table includes foreign key relation

  • Question about using an access database as a resource file in Visual Studio.

    - by user354303
    Hi I am trying to embed a Microsoft Access database file into my Class assembly DLL. I want my code to reference the resource file and use it with a ADODB.Connection object. Any body know a simpler way, or an easier way? Or what is wrong with my code, when i added the resource file it added me dataset definitions, but i have no idea what to do with those. The connection string I am trying below is from an automatically generated app.config. I did add the item as a resource... using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Data; using ConsoleApplication1.Resources;//SPPrinterLicenses using System.Data.OleDb; using ADODB; using System.Configuration; namespace ConsoleApplication1 { class SharePointPrinterManager { public static bool IsValidLicense(string HardwareID) { OleDbDataAdapter da = new OleDbDataAdapter(); DataSet ds = new DataSet(); ADODB.Connection adoCn = new Connection(); ADODB.Recordset adoRs = new Recordset(); //**open command below fails** adoCn.Open( @"Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=|DataDirectory|\Resources\SPPrinterLicenses.accdb;Persist Security Info=True", "", "", 1); adoRs.Open("Select * from AllWorkstationLicenses", adoCn, ADODB.CursorTypeEnum.adOpenForwardOnly, ADODB.LockTypeEnum.adLockReadOnly, 1); da.Fill(ds, adoRs, "AllworkstationLicenses"); adoCn.Close(); DataTable dt = new DataTable(); //ds.Tables. return true; } } }

    I am trying to use the ftpWebRequest in c# my code is // Get the object used to communicate with the server. FtpWebRequest request = (FtpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create("ftp://192.168.20.10/file.txt"); request.Method = WebRequestMethods.Ftp.UploadFile; // This example assumes the FTP site uses anonymous logon. request.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("dev\ftp", "devftp"); // Copy the contents of the file to the request stream. StreamReader sourceStream = new StreamReader(@"\file.txt"); byte[] fileContents = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(sourceStream.ReadToEnd()); sourceStream.Close(); request.ContentLength = fileContents.Length; request.UsePassive = true; Stream requestStream = request.GetRequestStream(); requestStream.Write(fileContents, 0, fileContents.Length); requestStream.Close(); FtpWebResponse response = (FtpWebResponse)request.GetResponse(); Console.WriteLine("Upload File Complete, status {0}", response.StatusDescription); response.Close(); and I get an Error in request.GetRequestStream(); the error is: the remote server returned error 530 not loged in if I try to go in to a browser page and in the url I write ftp://192.168.20.10/ the brows page is asking me for a name and password, I put the same name and password and I see all the files and folders in the ftp folder. can any one help me with this problem?

  • JPA returning null for deleted items from a set

    - by Jon
    This may be related to my question from a few days ago, but I'm not even sure how to explain this part. (It's an entirely different parent-child relationship.) In my interface, I have a set of attributes (Attribute) and valid values (ValidValue) for each one in a one-to-many relationship. In the Spring MVC frontend, I have a page for an administrator to edit these values. Once it's submitted, if any of these fields (as <input> tags) are blank, I remove the ValidValue object like so: Set<ValidValue> existingValues = new HashSet<ValidValue>(attribute.getValidValues()); Set<ValidValue> finalValues = new HashSet<ValidValue>(); for(ValidValue validValue : attribute.getValidValues()) { if(!validValue.getValue().isEmpty()) { finalValues.add(validValue); } } existingValues.removeAll(finalValues); for(ValidValue removedValue : existingValues) { getApplicationDataService().removeValidValue(removedValue); } attribute.setValidValues(finalValues); getApplicationDataService().modifyAttribute(attribute); The problem is that while the database is updated appropriately, the next time I query for the Attribute objects, they're returned with an extra entry in their ValidValue set -- a null, and thus, the next time I iterate through the values to display, it shows an extra blank value in the middle. I've confirmed that this happens at the point of a merge or find, at the point of "Execute query ReadObjectQuery(entity.Attribute). Here's the code I'm using to modify the database (in the ApplicationDataService): public void modifyAttribute(Attribute attribute) { getJpaTemplate().merge(attribute); } public void removeValidValue(ValidValue removedValue) { ValidValue merged = getJpaTemplate().merge(removedValue); getJpaTemplate().remove(merged); } Here are the relevant parts of the entity classes: Entity @Table(name = "attribute") public class Attribute { @OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL, fetch = FetchType.LAZY, mappedBy = "attribute") private Set<ValidValue> validValues = new HashSet<ValidValue>(0); } @Entity @Table(name = "valid_value") public class ValidValue { @ManyToOne(fetch = FetchType.LAZY) @JoinColumn(name = "attr_id", nullable = false) private Attribute attribute; }
