  I know that if I want to have requests for MyPage.aspx go to the class called MyHandler in the assembly called MyAssembly, I can add this to my web.config file: <configuration> <system.web> <httpHandlers> <add verb="*" path="MyPage.aspx" type="MyHandler, MyAssembly"/> </system.web> </configuration> This works for any MyPage.aspx at the (made up) URL: www.mycoolsite.com/MyProject/[SomePathHere]/MyPage.aspx What if I want to do it for every MyPage.aspx except www.mycoolsite.com/MyProject/NoHandler/MyPage.aspx Is there a way to exclude that path from the handler?

• How do I retrieve readonly values when using a DetailsView control to update a record?

  I'm using a detailsview control to update a record, however in this particular case there's only one field that can be changed out of a many. The update method for my object takes all fields as parameters. When the detailsview's updating method fires, the values for the readonly fields (those rendered as a Label) are not available in the e.NewValues collection. I'm currently grabbing a reference to the object when the detailsview is databound (in the objectdatasource selected event handler), storing it in session and manually adding entries to the e.NewValues collection when updating fires. It works but seems kind of heavy handed. So, is there a better way to get the read only values back into my update method? Or is there a better way of doing this altogether?

  Hi, I have a DataGridView that is bound to a list of object. It has some columns that the user can edit. There are certain inputs that are not allowed for a row as a whole. How can I roll back if the user enters invalid inputs in some cell. I tried using the RowValidating event handler but it was not called after cell value has been changed. Even when I implemet CellValueChanged, I still cannot roll back the changes. Any idea how to accomplish this

  Hi, I currently have a FileUpload.mxml component that uploads a .m4a to an oracle database, retrieves metadata from the file and saves the metadata info in the database. to acheive this I use FileReference() and set up, amoung others, the dispatcher.addEventListener(DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA, completeHandler); So the file is posted to a php file which saves it as a blob. Once the blob is saved, the script sends a message back to flex to dispatch the upload_complete_data event. In the complete handler, the metadata is then retreived by reading the value back from the database into a custom made meta data reader. The metadata info is then saved via flex. This seems a little long winded. Has anyone else successfully achieved this using a different way?

• Chaining jQuery animations using recursion crashes browser

  Here's the basic idea of what I'm trying to do: Set the innerHTML of a DIV to some value X Animate the DIV When the animation finishes, change the value of X and repeat N times If I do this in a loop, what ends up happening is, because the animations occur asynchronously, the loop finishes and the DIV is set to its final value before the animations have had a chance to run for each value of X. As this question notes, the best way to solve this problem is to make a recursive call to the function in the callback handler for the animation. This way the value of the DIV doesn't change until the animation of the previous value is complete. This works perfectly...to a point. If I animate a bunch of these DIVs at the same time, my browser gets overwhelmed and crashes. Too much recursion. Can anyone think of a way to do this without using recursion?

  I have a CascadingDropDown on an ASP.NET page. Now, the prompt text is "Select State". (list of states). However, on a different version of this page (ie querystring), i might want to set the selected index to "California" for example. How can i do this? The web service used by the ajax control (ie GetStates) gets invoked at the same time the jquery document.ready function is triggered (ie asynchronously). So when i try and set the selected index in jquery, the items are not yet bound. Is there a way to attach a handler to the ajax dropdown so that i can set the selected index once the webservice call has completed, and the items are bound?

On my server, inside of the handler for the initiating method I have the following (I have tried every interface that I listed in place of IOutputChannel. I can have the program to poll the database periodically, but that would not be performant and scalable. If app can hood to a "event handler" of database, then app can get notification every time given database table data is updated. This sounds more promising, but I didn't find any concrete example for it. This is listener pattern. Does common relational database support such feature?

But we need to be able to launch the youtube player by a means other than user tapping the video itself, for various reasons. So I am trying to figure out what event to trigger in javascript to make it happen with no luck. But i stuck in this process when i have a .gif (with multiple frames) and i m trying to bliting this gif image on DC that time it shows only a single frame of that gif image (its became a ordinary still image not an animated image). how i can store this whole gif image in memory dc and display full gif image on dc(with animation). I cant use wx.AnimateCrl() because i need that image in memoryDC. Any help really appreciable.

• Flex 3.0 Drag and Drop

  Hi all! I have encountered a problem in a Flex application. I have implemented drag and drop support from a List to a Canvas, and I DragManagers doDrag() - with.a proxy-image. In my custom DragDrop event handler, i place a new item on the Canvas. I use the event.localX/localY to position the new item. It is working ok, but the problem is that I want the "new" image to appear exactly where the proxy-image is when i release the mouse button (x/y -wise). Can I somehow get the proxys X,Y location. I thought that DragManager would have a reference to it but I can´t find it. Thanks /C

• Manipulating individual rows of a datagrid

  Hey, recently I started working on a webpage that has a datagrid. I understand how to add datasources and that sort of thing, or at least I am starting to get it. But my question is about manipulating individual rows or cells. Is that only possible during the databind event handler, that is the only place I have been able to do it so far. I am sure there is a more abstract way of doing the things I want to do, but there are times where I just want to say Datagrid.add(row). I mean, if the datagrid is made up of a certain object type, can I make a new object of that type and just chuck it on the end? I am still new to this stuff, so perhaps what I want to do would defeat the purpose of this added abstraction, but figured I would ask around. Thanks for any advice, tips, or tricks people feel like sharing. Edit: for clarification I am using c#, entity framework, asp.net, and an SQL database.

  Is it possible to setup HSQLDB in a way, so that the files with the db information are written into memory instead of using actual files? I want to use hsqldb to export some data structures together with hibernate mappings. Is is, however, not possible to write temporary files, so that I need to generate the files in-memory and return a stream with their contents as a response. Setting hsqldb to use nio seems not to be a solution, because there is no way to get hold of those files before they get written onto the filesystem. What I'm thinking of is a protocol handler for hsqldb, but I didn't find a suitable solution yet. Just to describe in other words: A hack solution would be to pass hsqldb a stream or several streams. It would then during its operation write data into those streams. After all data is written, the user of the db could then use those streams to send it back over the network.

• ASP.NET JavaScript File Embeded In DLL With GZIP

  We have several fairly large JavaScript files embedded into a single script resources DLL. This is then consumed by multiple projects by way of a reference and page includes via the ASP.NET script manager. This keeps things nice and neat within our ASP.NET pages and requires very little work to integrate into new projects. The problem is that some of these script files are quite larger (approx 100KB) and take time to download. By running minify on them before embedding this is reduced down a lot (around 70KB) but not enough. What we would like to do is GZIP the files before they are embedded. However, just gzipping the files causes syntax errors as the content is not unzipped. There is a content type "text/javascript" applied in AssemblyInfo when the resource is embedded but we can't find a way to specify content-encoding. Is there any way to make this work without having to write a httpmodule/handler (which would mean changing the config for all consuming projects)?

  I have a jpg image in my app that shows correctly. In my listview i'd like to make the image more transparent so it is easier to see the text. I changed the image to a png format and altered it's opacity in GIMP. Now that the new image is in the app drawable folder. • How can I emulate forward on 404 in jersey?

  I have a picture on a given URL. The picture might need a referesh. I want to do the freshness-check at the time of the request. Therefore, I coded a jersey resource handling the request on the picture URL. It refreshes the picture on the filesystem if necessary. I do not want to re-code a caching mechansim, but rely on tomcat's implementation. Therefore, I would like to "forward" the request in the internal handler chain. I tried return new Viewable(sb.toString());, but a viewable is not a picture. What return type can I use? I could let the concrete picture reside on another URL and send a 307 (Temporary Redirect). • Node.js and wss://

  I'm looking to start using javascript on the server, most likely with node.js, as well as use websockets to communicate with clients. However, there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about encrypted websocket communication using TLS and the wss:// handler. In fact the only server that I've seen explicitly support wss:// is Kaazing. This TODO is the only reference I've been able to find in the various node implementations. Am I missing something or are the websocket js servers not ready for encrypted communication yet? Another option could be using something like lighttpd or apache to proxy to a node listener, has anyone had success there?

• connecting clients to server with emulator on different computers

  I am writing an application that communicates using sockets. I have a server running on one android emulator on a computer, then i have 2 other clients running on android emulators on 2 other computers. I am trying to get the 2 clients to connect to the server. This works when i run the server and clients on the same computer, but when i attempt to do this on the same wifi network and on separate computers it gives me the following error. The client and server code is posted below. A lot is stripped out just to show the important stuff. Also, after the server starts i telnet into the server and run these commands redir add tcp:5000:6000 (i have also tried without doing the redir but it still says the same thing). • KeyDown event is not firing second time.

  In my masterpage, i'm having one textbox for searching purpose. if we press enterkey it is redirecting to some otherpage. But it is happening only one time. next time when i enter some text and press enter key, it is not going to the Keydown event handler.
