• ASP.NET MVC Create dynamic navigation sub-menu on the master page

- by Michael Narinsky
I'm trying to create an ASP.NET MVC master page so the site navigation on it will look like this: Main Menu:Home | About | News Sub Menu: Home_Page1 | Home_Page2 The Sub Menu section should always show sub-menu for the currently selected Main Menu page (on the example above 'Home' page is selected) unless a user hovers the mouse on another Main Menu item (then it shows that item's sub-menu instead). What is the best way to get such functionality in ASP.NET MVC?

• Is it possible to expose data from Oracle using OData?

- by Michael Rosario
From my personal research, it appears that OData implementations depend extensively on MS Entity framework. It would seem possible to implement the OData producer protocol using an open ORM like NHibernate in C# or Hibernate in Java. In the best of all worlds, it would be cool to expose data using OData protocol from Oracle. I am open to other open solutions like Java, JRuby, etc. Thanks in advance for your time.

• EMERGENCY - Major Problems After Perl Module Installed via WHM

- by Russell C.
I attempted to install the perl module Net::Twitter::Role::API::Lists using WHM and after doing so my whole site came down. It seems that something that was updated with the install isn't functioning correctly and since our website it written in Perl none of our site scripts will run. In almost 8 years of working with Perl I've never had any issues arise after installing a perl module so I have no idea how to even start troubleshooting. The error I see when trying to compile any of our Perl scripts is below. I'd appreciate any advice on what might be wrong and steps on how I can go about resolve it. Thanks in advance for your help! • Is there a codeigniter api reference?

- by ajsie
whenever using a framework it's so good with a api reference so you could lookup the classes' methods and properties, which class they extend from and so on. is there a api reference for codeigniter similar to yii's excellent api referenc? http://www.yiiframework.com/doc/api/ how else could you know more about the details about the classes if there isn't a good api reference. java's api reference is also great: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/ why can't i find codeigniter's. thanks.

I get the following exception when deploying a JSR 286 portlet into Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (to deploy it later in Oracle WebCenter 11g): <19-ene-2010 13H32' CET> <Error> <oracle.portlet.server.containerimpl.PortletApplicationImpl> <BEA-000000> <Error al procesar el archivo "/WEB-INF/portlet.xml" en la lÝnea 6 columna 68. org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'portlet-app' The error message is in spanish. It means: "Error processing the file "/WEB-INF/portlet.xml at line 6 column 68" The portlet.xml of my portlet seems to be correct and I've deployed it in other portal servers. I wrote the following script to install the svn version of MonoDevelop #!/usr/bin/env bash PREFIX=/opt/local check_errs() { if [[ $? -ne 0 ]]; then echo "${1}" exit 1 fi } download() { if [ ! -d ${1} ] then svn co http://anonsvn.mono-project.com/source/trunk/${1} else (cd ${1}; svn update) fi } download mono download mcs download libgdiplus ( cd mono ./autogen.sh --prefix=$PREFIX make make install check_errs ) ( cd libgdiplus ./autogen.sh --prefix=$PREFIX make make install check_errs ) download monodevelop export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=${PREFIX}/lib/pkgconfig ( cd monodevelop ./configure --prefix=$PREFIX --select check_errs make check_errs ) Everything works fine until the last make step for the monodevelop pacakge, where the script exits with the error: ./MonoDevelop.WebReferences/MoonlightChannelBaseExtension.cs(320,82): error CS1061: Type `System.ServiceModel.Description.OperationContractGenerationContext' does not contain a definition for `SyncMethod' and no extension method `SyncMethod' of type `System.ServiceModel.Description.OperationContractGenerationContext' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) ./MonoDevelop.WebReferences/MoonlightChannelBaseExtension.cs(325,49): error CS1061: Type `System.ServiceModel.Description.OperationContractGenerationContext' does not contain a definition for `SyncMethod' and no extension method `SyncMethod' of type `System.ServiceModel.Description.OperationContractGenerationContext' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) ./MonoDevelop.WebReferences/MoonlightChannelBaseExtension.cs(345,115): error CS1061: Type `System.ServiceModel.Description.OperationContractGenerationContext' does not contain a definition for `SyncMethod' and no extension method `SyncMethod' of type `System.ServiceModel.Description.OperationContractGenerationContext' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) ./MonoDevelop.WebReferences/MoonlightChannelBaseExtension.cs(365,82): error CS1061: Type `System.ServiceModel.Description.OperationContractGenerationContext' does not contain a definition for `BeginMethod' and no extension method `BeginMethod' of type `System.ServiceModel.Description.OperationContractGenerationContext' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) • subprocess.Popen doesn't work when args is sequence

- by pero
I'm having a problem with subprocess.Popen when args parameter is given as sequence. For example: import subprocess maildir = "/home/support/Maildir" This works (it prints the correct size of /home/support/Maildir dir): size = subprocess.Popen(["du -s -b " + maildir], shell=True, stdout=subprocess.PIPE).communicate()[0].split()[0] print size But, this doesn't work (try it): size = subprocess.Popen(["du", "-s -b", maildir], shell=True, stdout=subprocess.PIPE).communicate()[0].split()[0] print size What's wrong?

• Cannot use standard android color attribute in custom color selector

- by Manish Gupta
So, android defines the following in themes.xml: and: I want to use this colorPressedHighlight as the background color for my custom Button when it is pressed. So I defined the following in res/color/app_button_background.xml: <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" >

</selector> Finally, I define my custom ImageButton style: I crash on app launch with the following call stack: 06-27 20:24:41.954: E/AndroidRuntime(532): Caused by: org.xmlpull.v1.XmlPullParserException: Binary XML file line #6:
tag requires a 'drawable' attribute or child tag defining a drawable 06-27 20:24:41.954: E/AndroidRuntime(532): at android.graphics.drawable.StateListDrawable.inflate(StateListDrawable.java:178) 06-27 20:24:41.954: E/AndroidRuntime(532): at android.graphics.drawable.Drawable.createFromXmlInner(Drawable.java:867) 06-27 20:24:41.954: E/AndroidRuntime(532): at android.graphics.drawable.Drawable.createFromXml(Drawable.java:804) 06-27 20:24:41.954: E/AndroidRuntime(532): at android.content.res.Resources.loadDrawable(Resources.java:1920) I know that directly accessing @color/legacy_pressed_highlight or @color/holo_blue_light instead of accessing them through the colorPressedHighlight fixes the crash but it does not solve the problem. Themes can vary, hence I need to access it through the colorPressedHighlight attribute. PS: I had a similar problem to which I haven't found an answer yet. Can someone please help!

• Dynamically select field names in a query with Spring JDBCTemplate

- by Francesco
Hi, I have a problem with parameters replacing by Spring JdbcTemplate. I have this query : <bean id="fixQuery" class="java.lang.String"> <constructor-arg type="java.lang.String" value="select fa.id, fi.? from fix_ambulation fa left join fix_i18n fi on fa.translation_id = fi.id order by name" /> And this method : public List<FixAmbulation> readFixAmbulation(String locale) throws Exception { List<FixAmbulation> ambulations = this.getJdbcTemplate().query( fixQuery, new Object[] {locale.toLowerCase()}, ParameterizedBeanPropertyRowMapper .newInstance(FixAmbulation.class)); return ambulations; } And I'd like to have the ? filled with the string representing the locale the user is using. So if the user is brasilian I'd send him the column pt_br from the table fix_i18n, otherwise if he's american I'd send him the column en_us. What I get from this method is a PostgreSQL exception org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: syntax error at or near "$1" If I replace fi.? with just ? (the column name of the locale is unique, so if I run this query in the database it works just fine) what I get is that every object returned from method has the string locale into the field name. I.e. in name field I have "en_us". The only way to have it working I found was to change the method into : public List<FixAmbulation> readFixAmbulation(String locale) throws Exception { String query = "select fa.id, fi." + locale.toLowerCase() + " as name " + fixQuery; this.log.info("QUERY : " + query); List<FixAmbulation> ambulations = this.getJdbcTemplate().query( query, ParameterizedBeanPropertyRowMapper .newInstance(FixAmbulation.class)); return ambulations; } and setting fixQuery to : <bean id="fixQuery" class="java.lang.String"> <constructor-arg type="java.lang.String" value=" from telemedicina.fix_ambulation fa left join telemedicina.fix_i18n fi on fa.translation_id = fi.id order by name" /> </bean> My DAO extends Spring JdbcDaoSupport and works just fine for all other queries. What am I doing wrong?
