• How to enable camera feature in a sencha touch application using phonegap?

  I have developed one application in sencha touch2. I want to design a page in such a way that The page has a default image and one button below that. By clicking that button device camera should open(device mainly iPad and iPhone) and after capturing the image lets see it stored in a folder named as "capture" in your device. Then that captured image should replace that default image. I want to use Phonegap compulsorily. I have seen phone gap APIs for camera but I don't get it how to use it exactly. I am using MAC and Xcode for development.

• Play Shoutcast MP3 radio stream with Python?

  I have managed to create an online radio station using Shoutcast and Sam Broadcaster. Now, I am wanting to build my own player for that radio station. I am not sure where to begin, I have googled, but no luck. I am using Python 2.6 on Microsoft Windows. I have managed to capture the stream and save it as an MP# on the hard disk, just not sure what to do with it next. I tried playback of the file, but it always pulls up errors.   In visual studio 2008, I have created a static dll called test_static.dll. I am trying to call this from one application. I have included this dll in source files folder and the header file related to it in headers folder. When i am running the application I am getting following liking error. • Custom dropdown for CComboBox

  I'm trying to create a custom dropdown for a derivative of CComboBox. The dropdown will be a calendar control plus some 'hotspots', e.g. So I figure the best way to achieve this is to have a simple CWnd-derived class which acts as the parent to the calendar control, and have it paint the hotspots itself. The window needs to be a popup window - I think - rather than a child window so that it isn't clipped. But doing this causes the dialog (on which the combobox control is placed) to stop being the topmost (foreground?) window, leading to its frame being drawn differently: This spoils the illusion that the dropdown is part of the combobox since its acting more like a modal dialog at this point. Any suggestions on how I make the custom dropdown behave like the regular dropdown? Are there any other pitfalls I need to watch out for, e.g. focus and mouse capture issues?

  I'm trying to determine whether a users does a touchupinside in mobile safari for an iPhone web app. So far I've been unsuccessful. touchend event fires regardless of where the touchup event happens on the screen, and I can't seem to discern that the target has changed by anything in the event argument. • Linking to a C library compiled as C++

  I'm in linker paradise now. I have a C library which only compiles in Visual C++ (it probably works in gcc) if: I compile it as C++ code Define __cplusplus which results in all the declarations being enclosed in extern "C" { } So, by doing this I have a static library called, say, bsbs.lib Now, I have a C++ project called Tester which would like to call function barbar in declared in bsbs.h. All goes fine, until I try to link to bsbs.lib where I get the all-too-familiar: Tester.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _foofoo And it always seems to be foofoo which cannot be resolved regardless of which function I call in Tester (barbar or anything else).

• Keyboard event issue

  Hello guys! I have to capture the following keyboard event in a TextBox - SHIFT + 8(on the numpad). This also means the NumLock will be on. When I try the following, nothing is printed: private void textBox1_KeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.Shift && e.KeyCode == Keys.NumPad8) Console.WriteLine("SHIFT + UP"); } But CTRL + 8(on the numpad) is working. private void textBox1_KeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.Control && e.KeyCode == Keys.NumPad8) Console.WriteLine("CTRL + UP"); } Could someone explain me, why SHIFT + 8 isn't fired, but CTRL + 8 is working? P.S. I wrote + UP, because the user wants to navigate with the numpad arrows and the SHIFT key, but his NumLock will also be on. That's why I catch Keys.NumPad8. All the best, Petar

• Chrome Extension contenteditable get and set caret position

  I am creating an extension where I need to insert a link into the gmail window. I am able to create a simple extension button in the top of the window and execute code that does replaces all the links. Now, I want to do add links in the contenteditable section as I type. It seems like there should be a simple way to replace text with a link in the document object model. If this is not true I need to do three things. Insert text from the current caret position Capture the caret position. Set the caret position by its offset. I have tried using window.getSelection within the gmail context(that is a body element that is set to contenteditable and embedded inside an iframe in the gmail tab) to get the current range and position. The selection is always empty and contains no ranges regardless of whether text is selected or not.

• (Visual) C++ project dependency analysis

  I have a few large projects I am working on in my new place of work, which have a complicated set of statically linked library dependencies between them. The libs number around 40-50 and it's really hard to determine what the structure was initially meant to be, there isn't clear documentation on the full dependency map. What tools would anyone recommend to extract such data? Presumably, in the simplest manner, if did the following: define the set of paths which correspond to library units set all .cpp/.h files within those to belong to those compilation units capture the 1st order #include dependency tree One would have enough information to compose a map - refactor - and recompose the map, until one has created some order. I note that http://www.ndepend.com have something nice but that's exclusively .NET unfortunately. I read something about Doxygen being able accomplish some static dependency analysis with configuration; has anyone ever pressed it into service to accomplish such a task?

  I'm trying to build my first cocoa application. done some iPhone developing before. I have a hard time understanding how to layout my project. i making a Pong game and my current design is to allocate an NSWindowController from my appDelegate. I then use custom view to act as paddles and ball. My problem is that i can't get the window controller to capture key events. Am i thinking wrong here? My idea is to have a controller class with all the logic, should i subclass another class for that?

• Android - How to tell is someone has pressed a SPINNER but not changed the visible item in it.

  I have a spinner, which mostly works. If a user selects one of the items in it, the 'onItemSelected' routine catches it just fine. But if a user clicks the same spinner, but does not change from the already visible item that it's currently displaying, the 'onItemSelected' routine just ignores it, and the logs show:- WARN/InputManagerService(577): Window already focused, ignoring focus gain of: com.android.internal.view.IInputMethodClient$Stub$Proxy@437948b0 I there anyway to capture someone doing this? The idea is that my spinner contains a list of names, and when a user selects one from the spinner, it gets added to a listview. I could just add another button to get the name from the spinner, but, screen-space is already lacking and I'd rather not add anymore content.

But I'm not talking about splitting tables for the same entity (like user for example) Suppose I have a huge options table that stores list options like Gender, Marital Status, and many more domain specific groups with same structure. I plan to capture in a OPTIONS table. Another simple option is to have the field set as ENUM, but there are disadvantages of that as well. http://www.brandonsavage.net/why-you-should-replace-enum-with-something-else/ OPTIONS Table: option_id <will be referred instead of the name> name value group Query: select .. from options where group = '15' - Since this table is expected to be multi-tenant, the no of rows could grow drastically. - I believe splitting the tables instead of finding by the group would be easier to write & faster to execute. - or perhaps partitioning by the group or tenant?   I'm working on a legacy VB6 app here at work, and it has been a long time since I've looked at VB6 or ADO. One thing the app does is to executes SQL Tasks and then to output the success/failure into an XML file. If there is an error it inserts the text the task node. What I have been asked to do is try and do the same with the other mundane messages that result from succesfully executed tasks, like (323 row(s) affected). There is no command object being used, it's just an ADODB.Connection object. • iOS app won't compile on device but works fine in simulator

  I'm assuming this has something to do with linking, but I've removed RestKit and re-added it. I made sure all my connections and linking was in place. If I set XCode to use the simulator it runs fine, but as soon as I set it to run on any device it won't even build. The only other thing of note is this didn't start happening till I upgraded to XCode 4.5. • CDATA xml parsing extra greater than problem

  Hi, I am creating an xml using php and parsing that xml in iphone application code. In description field there is some html tags and text. I am using following line to convert this html tags in to xml tag using CDATA. $response .= '<desc><![CDATA['.trim($feed['fulltext']).']]></desc>'; Now, here my $feed['fulltext'] value is like this <span class="ABC">...text...</span> In xml I am getting following response, <desc><![CDATA[><span class"ABC">...text...</span>]]></desc> You can see here, I am getting an extra greater-than symbol just before the value of $feed['fulltext'] starts. (like this: ...text...) Any solution or suggestion for this? Thanks in advance. Cheers.

• How do I test how my client program will react to a web server error?

  I have a client program based on LibCurl. I have run into a situation where on some occasions a program on the server runs longer than the configured IIS timeout. IIS then terminates the program and returns a 502 error status to the client. I have added code to the client to capture this issue. Now, I need to find a way to prove that the change will work. I haven't been able to reliably reproduce the issue, so don't have a good test case. Any suggestions?

• ASP.Net: Finding the cause of OutOfMemoryExpcetions

  I trying to track down the cause of an OutOfMemory for a website. This site has ~12,000 .aspx pages and the last time it crashed I captured a memory dump using adplus. After some investigation I found a lot of heap fragmentation, there are around 100MB of Free blocks which can't be assigned. Digging deeper one of the Large Object Heaps is fragmented and the causes seems to be String interning as described [here][1] Could this be caused by the number of pages in the site? As they are all compiled they sit in memory and by looking at the dump they are interned and PINNED which I think means they stick around for a while. I would find this odd as there are many sites with more pages, but dynamic compilation could account for the growth in memory. What other methods are there for finding the cause of the memory leak? • Is there a list of language only character regions for UTF-8 somewhere?

  I'm trying to analyze some UTF-8 encoded documents in a way that recognizes different language characters. For my approach to work I need to ignore non-language characters, such as control characters, mathematical symbols etc. Just trying to dissect the basic Latin section of the UTF standard has resulted in multiple regions, with characters like the division symbol being right in the middle of a range of valid Latin characters. Is there a list somewhere that identifies these regions? Or better yet, a Regex that defines the regions or something in C# that can identify the different characters?

• Php is stripping one letter "g" from my rtrim function but not other chars

  I'm trying to trim some youtube URLs that I am reading in from a playlist. The first 3 work fine and all their URLs either end in caps or numbers but this one that ends in a lower case g is getting trimmed one character shorter than the rest. for ($z=0; $z <= 3; $z++) { $ythref2 = rtrim($tubeArray["feed"]["entry"][$z]["link"][0]["href"], '&feature=youtube_gdata'); The URL is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuE88oVCVjg&feature=youtube_gdata .. and it should get trimmed down to .. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuE88oVCVjg but instead it is coming out as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuE88oVCVj. I think it may be the ampersand symbol but I am not sure.

• Help porting a bit of Prototype JavaScript to jQuery

  I have already implemented some AJAX pagination in my Rails app by using the example code for the will_paginate plugin--which is apparently using Prototype. But if I wanted to switch to using jQuery for future additions, I really don't want to have the Prototype stuff sitting around too (yes, I know it's possible). • Pull image of rendered HTML from a specific browser

  I am working on an app that will be able to pull an image of rendered HTML from a specific browser. I would like the user to be able to select a specific browser to render an HTML file in, and capture the rendered output in an image file. I am starting with IE8, and I'm not sure where to begin to get the actual rendered output. I can easily open the file in that browser with Process.Start(), but I don't know how to return the rendered output. I have looked a little bit at sinking events, but I don't understand how that works or if that's the right way to go. I would just like some direction, and perhaps some resources to send me on the right path.

• RegEx to replace html entities

  Hi, all. I'm looking for a way to replace the bullet character in Greasemonkey. I assume a Regular Expression will do the trick, but I'm not as well-versed in it as many of you. For example, "SampleSite.com • Page Title" becoming "SampleSite.com Page Title". The issue is that the character has already been parsed by the time Greasemonkey has gotten to it, and I don't know how to make it recognize the symbol. I've tried these so far, but they haven't worked: newTitle = document.title.replace(/•/g, ""); newTitle = document.title.replace("•", ""); //just for grins, but didn't work anyway
