  There's a field with type of varchar. It actually stores a float point string. Like 2.0 , 12.0 , 34.5 , 67.50 ... What I need is a update statement that remove the ending zeros of fields like 2.0 , 12.0 , change them to their integer representation , that is 2 , 12 ...,and leave 3.45 , 67.50 unchanged . How should I do this ? I am using oracle 10.

However what I would like to do is instead of showing all those labels next to the input boxes (which breaks the layout) is just keep it simple and only change the colours of the input fields. • Help with c# event listening and usercontrols

  OK so I have a page which has a listview on it. Inside the item template of the listview is a usercontrol. This usercontrol is trying to trigger an event so that the hosting page can listen to it. My problem is that the event is not being triggered as the handler is null. (ie. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have tried setting EnableViewState to true for my listview but that hasn't made a difference. Is there somewhere else I'm supposed to be wiring up the control handler? Note - apologies if I've got my terminology wrong and I'm referring to delegates as handlers and such :)

• Help with IE bugs when writing JSON via an ASPX response

  I have an ASPX page that I am using to write JSON. It works great in Firefox and Chrome, but when I try and use it in IE 8 it gives me an "The XML page cannot be displayed" error instead of allowing jQuery to load the JSON being written by the response. Any ideas?   There are CouchDB documents that are list elements: { "type" : "el", "id" : "1", "content" : "first" } { "type" : "el", "id" : "2", "content" : "second" } { "type" : "el", "id" : "3", "content" : "third" } There is one document that defines the list: { "type" : "list", "elements" : ["2","1"] , "id" : "abc123" } As you can see the third element was deleted, it is no longer part of the list. So it must not be part of the result. Now I want a view that returns the content elements including the right order. The result could be: { "content" : ["second", "first"] } In this case the order of the elements is already as it should be. • Help me plan larger Qt project

  I'm trying to create an automated task management system for our company, because they pay me to waste my time. New users will create a "profile", which will store all the working data (I guess serialize everything into xml rite?). A "profile" will contain many different tasks. Tasks are basically just standard computer janitor crap such as moving around files, reading/writing to databases, pinging servers, etc.). So as you can see, a task has many different jobs they do, and also that tasks should run indefinitely as long as the user somehow generates "jobs" for them. There should also be a way to enable/disable (start/pause) tasks. They say create the UI first so... I figure the best way to represent this is with a list-view widget, that lists all the tasks in the profile. Enabled tasks will be bold, disabled will be then when you double-click a task, a tab in the main view opens with all the settings, output, errors,. You can right click a task in the list-view to enable/disable/etc. So each task will be a closable tab, but when you close it just hides. My question is: should I extend from QAction and QTabWidget so I can easily drop tasks in and out of my list-view and tab bar? I'm thinking some way to make this plugin-based, since a lot of the plugins may share similar settings (like some of the same options, but different infos are input). Also, what's the best way to set up threading for this application?

  Hi all, I'm trying to use JNA to talk over a USB device plugged into the computer. Using Java and a .dll that was provided to me. The close requires the NativeLong handle, so i am assuming that the CANMsg msg is the issue here. I have also confirmed that the device works when tested with C only code. • Trying to programmatically add a SQL Alias to the registry (just need help with parameters)

  Normally when we spin up a new instance we need to add an alias on one of our boxes so we can easily connect to it through SSMS using SQL Server Configuration Manager. I have written a batch file which adds the appropriate entry into the registry (it is actually two batch files, one for 32 bit and one for 64 bit). I am not sure how to get this to run with parameters though. I know %1 and %2 would be for the first two parameters, but when I run this, in the registry it actually puts %1 and %2 as the value pair. if you hardcode hostname and IP Address in place of %1 and %2 the batch file works as expected: REGEDIT4 ; @ECHO OFF ; CLS ; REGEDIT.EXE /S "%~f0" ; EXIT [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\Client\ConnectTo] "%1"="DBMSSOCN,%2,1433"

  Hi, I am trying to write an SQL query to update some of the attributes that are regularly pulled from source. the output will be a text file with the following fields: author, title, date, popularity I have two tables to update one is the author information and the other is popularity table. And the Author Active Record object has one popularity. Currently I'm doing it like this.\ arr.each { |x| x = x.split(" ") results = Author.find_by_sql("SELECT authors.id FROM authors, priorities WHERE authors.id=popularity.authors_id AND authors.author = x[0]") results[0].popularity.update_attribute("popularity", x[3]) I need two tables because the popularity keeps changing, and I need only the top 1000 popular ones, but I still need to keep the previously popular ones also. Is there any nicer way to do this, instead of one query for every new object. Thanks.

  Hi, i have two tables category and hotels where category.id should be equal to hotels.catid. Now how do i select 3 rows from each different category from the hotels table. I have this query: select h.* from hotels h inner join category c on h.catid = c.id order by h.catid, h.hid this selects all records, but i want to select three rows per different category so in all it should return 9 rows with 3 rows for each category. If this can not be done in mysql, you could also suggest php code please. Thanks

  I need to match two cases js/example_directory/example_name.js and js/example_directory/example_name.js?12345 (where 12345 is a digit string of unknown length and the directory can be limitless in depth or not exist at all) I need to capture in both cases everything between js/ and .js and if ? exists capture the digit string after ? This is what I have so far ^js/(.*).js\??(\d+)? This works except it also captures js/example_directory/example_name.js12345 I want the regex to ignore that. Any suggestions? Thank you all! • Help with regex pulling XML data from response body in PHP

  I am working on a project that pulls data from JMS queue using PHP and Zend Framework. The HTTP client response is below. All I need is the XML string. I came up with /(.*)<\/RequestDetails/gs which tests ok on http://gskinner.com/RegExr/ but the preg_match call is returning an empty matches array. I'm going to continue to hunt around for a pattern, but thought I would post here as well. Thanks to all who read, etc... Steve UPDATE: I can't get the code to paste correctly.
