  • User Defined Class as a Template Parameter

    Hi, I' m implementing a custom STL map. I need to make sure that any data type (basic or user defined) key will work with it. I declared the Map class as a template which has two parameters for the key and the value. My question is if I need to use a string as the key type, how can I overload the < and operators for string type keys only?? In template specialization we have to specialize the whole class with the type we need as I understand it. Is there any way I can do this in a better way?? What if I add a separate Key class and use it as the template type for Key? Thank You!!

    I'm in need for a data structure that can handle small sets (10-20 strings, at most 50, of varying length) very fast. False positives is ok, but false negatives are not. The last requirement makes bloom filters seem like a good fit, but I'm not sure about their speed, any other recommendations?

  • Placing advice on any parameter of a given type in AspectJ

    Hi, Im doing a POC using Aspectj. class BaseInfo{..} class UserInfo extends BaseInfo{..} class UserService { public void getUser(UserInfo userInfo){..} public void deleteUser(String userId){..} } I've defined an advice, that gets invoked when I pass an UserInfo instance.But when i try to pass the BaseInfo, the advice is not getting invoked. Below block executes the afterMethod as expected for getUser. &ltaop:pointcut id="aopafterMethod" expression="execution(* UserService.*(..,UserInfo,..))" / &gtaop:after pointcut-ref="aopafterMethod" method="afterMethod" / But when i try to give BaseInfo instead of UserInfo, the aspect is not getting triggered. Am i missing something? Kindly help me on this issue.

  • Is the UX affected negatively by fully cacheable pages?

    I want to have fully cacheable pages in my websites, but one cannot do that if they contain user-specific data, like the userbar or things in the UI that can change depending on the permissions the user has. So I was thinking whether it was possible to pull everything that is user-specific via ajax, and update the UI accordingly. But I'm worried that this might be annoying for the user, and also it might be difficult to develop. What do you think? Is there a pattern or something I can follow to deal with this?

    I execute a core data fetch which specifies a predicate as follows: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"identifier IN %@", favoritesIDs]; When there are duplicate items in the favoriteIDs array, the fetch request only returns 1 managed object. How can I ensure that more than one instance is fetched? Thank you.

  • Is there an difference between transient properties defined in the data model, or in the custom subc

    I was reading that setting the value of a transient property always results in marking the managed object as "dirty". However, what I don't get is this: If I make a subclass of NSManagedObject and use some extra properties which I don't need to be persistet, how does Core Data know about them and how can it mark the object as dirty when I access these? Again, they're not defined in the data model, so Core Data has no really good hint that they are there. Or does Core Data use some kind of introspection to analyze my custom class and figure out what properties I have in there?

    Hello Community, I need to send data from an Air application, using a certificate. This certificate is to be provided by the user through a USB Key. I've got a lot of questions regarding this. Is it possible to do what I'm looking for? If yes, is it possible to do that only with the Flex/Air sdk or should I use Java or some other language to load the certificate?     Lets say I have 2 forms. In Form1 I have a timer, which counts (count++) and in Form2 I have a text box (textBox1) which shows how much the timer has counted. Now I want to know how would I show the integer 'count' in 'textBox1' without any user interference (clicking buttons) or in other words, how would I make the data in the text box auto refresh (without using Form2 form = new Form2(); form.Show();). I want 2 separate windows, in one a running timer and in the other a textbox displaying how much the timer has counted and constantly updating (with the help of the timer, I presume).

    I have a project in mind that will require the majority of queries to be keyed off of lat/long as well as date + time. Initially, I was thinking of a standard RDBMS where lat, long, and the datetime field are properly indexed. Then, I began thinking of a document based system where the document was essentially a timestamp and each document has lat/long with in it. Each document could have n objects associated with it. I'm looking for advice on what would be the best type of storage engine for this sort of thing is - which of the above idea would be better or if there is something else completely that is the ideal solution.     Having trouble with AR 2.3.5, e.g.: users = User.all( :select => "u.id, c.user_id", :from => "users u, connections c", :conditions => ... ) Returns, e.g.: => [#<User id: 1000>] >> users.first.attributes => {"id"=>1000, "user_id"=>"1000"} Note that AR returns the id of the model searched as numeric but the selected user_id of the joined model as a String, although both are int(11) in the database schema. How could I better form this type of query to select columns of tables backing multiple models and retrieving their natural type rather than String ? Seems like AR is punting on this somewhere. How could I coerce the returned types at AR load time and not have to tack .to_i (etc.) onto every post-hoc access?

    Hi all, I want to declare a dictionary that stores typed IEnumerable's of a specific type, with that exact type as key, like so: private IDictionary<T, IEnumerable<T>> _dataOfType where T: BaseClass; //does not compile! The concrete classes I want to store, all derive from BaseClass, therefore the idea to use it as constraint. The compiler complains that it expects a semicolon after the member name. If it would work, I would expect this would make the later retrieval from the dictionary simple like: IEnumerable<ConcreteData> concreteData; _sitesOfType.TryGetValue(typeof(ConcreteType), out concreteData); How to define such a dictionary?
