    As a follow-up of this question: sqlite-over-a-network-share If I put the SQlite DB on a network share, but will not access it concurrently from different machines. I only have the SQLite db stored on a share so a cluster of failover computers can take over where one machine left off. Are there any inherent problems with that approach?

What is the benefit of setting the -Xms parameter, and having the initial memory larger for example, then the default calculated one (64 MB in my case, according to Java GC tunning: http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/hotspot/gc/gc_tuning_6.html#par_gc.ergonomics.default_size)? Also, is there any good to setting both the initial and maximum memories to same size? Thanks.

I can't find in the API how to get the "TO" recipients as String for each Message. Can anyone guide me on how to do this? At least a link where someone has already done it. Thanks in advance

    The java library I need (jpcap) only works on java 6, it won't work with java 7 (and I have tried :( ), is it still possible to install java 6 on ubuntu? Only according to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Java#Choosing_the_default_Java_to_use, 'Oracle (Sun) Java 6 is no longer available to be distributed by Ubuntu, because of license issues' I've tried to use the instructions on the same site but they don't seem to work... "./jre-6u34-linux-i586.bin" doesn't seem to do anything! Thanks!

    NSDecimalNumber is a subclass of NSNumber, and from what I can tell, it implements all of the NSNumber methods as expected for an NSNumber instance. Given that, is it ok to give NSDecimalNumbers to any code that is expecting an NSNumber? The only possible issue might be code that checks that an argument is an instance of NSNumber, but since NSNumber is a class-cluster, code like this would have to check that the instance is a subclass of NSNumber, and NSDecimalNumber instances should pass the same tests.

  • C++ EZWindows Linker Errors when trying to run demos

    I'm attempting to download and use the EZWindows ( http://www.cs.virginia.edu/c++programdesign/software/ ) SPARC installation (the http://www.cs.virginia.edu/c++programdesign/software/EzWindows2a-SPARC.tar.gz file). When trying to build some of the examples that come with it, I'm getting some linker errors that I just can't figure out. Here's the result of the uname -a command on the machine I'm running on (on which I am NOT an administrator): SunOS AAA.BBB.edu 5.10 Generic_138888-07 sun4v sparc SUNW,T5240 And here is the result of the g++ -v command: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release) If you untar/unzip the package, I'm trying to compile the example in samples/chap03/lawn by simply doing "gmake" in that directory, here's what I get.   • Jboss logging issue

    I'm Working as deployer and server administrator. We use Jboss 4.0x AS to deploy our applications. The issue I'm facing is, Whenever we redeploy/restart the server, server.log is getting created but after sometime the logging goes off. Yes it is not at all updating the server.log file. Due to this, we could not trace the other critical issues we have. Actually we have two separate nodes and we do deploy/restarting the server separately on two nodes. We are facing the issue in both of our test and production environment. I could not trace out where exactly the issue is. Could you please help me in resolving the issue? If we have any other issues, we can check the log files. If log itself is not getting updated/logged, how can we move further in analyzing the issues without the recent/updated logs?   • How to install JMX Service?

    Hi, I am working on a device that installs an embedded linux system. I want to remote monitor the application running on that device using JConsole. However, when I set the property for JMX Agent like -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=8010, the system produced an error "the file management.properties does not exist". It seems that the Java installed on this embedded linux system does not include the JMX service yet. Anyone has some ideas that how can I install JMX service on such system, please? Thanks
