  • rails assets give TypeError (can't dup NilClass)

    I have a rails 3 app that works fine when run under rails s. However, when trying to deploy it to apache2 with fcgi, the asset pipeline breaks. For example, when trying to request /assets/logo.png the log will show: Started GET "/assets/logo.png" for 10.50.10.249 at Tue Apr 10 19:20:39 -0400 2012 TypeError (can't dup NilClass): This happens on either the production or development environments. How can I debug this?

  • Rails 3 and Bootstrap 2.1.0 - can't fix my footer

    I have Rails application with bootstrap 2.1.0 (i use twitter-bootstrap-rails gem for that). But i can't get working footer. It is not visible unless i scroll down the page. I can't get how to fix that.     I have a RetrieveBlob.aspx that gets some query string variables and returns an asset. Eeach url corresponds to a unique asset. In the RetrieveBlob.aspx a Cache Profile is set. In Web.Config the profile looks like (under system.web tag: <caching> <outputCache enableOutputCache="true" /> <outputCacheSettings> <outputCacheProfiles> <add duration="14800" enabled="true" varyByParam="*" name="AssetCacheProfile" /> </outputCacheProfiles> </outputCacheSettings> </caching> Ok, this works fine. When I put a breakpoint in the code behind of RetrieveBlob.aspx, it gets triggered the first time, and all the other times not.     If I have a relative path to a static asset (flash/blah.swf), what is the best way to convert this to an absolute URL (http://localhost/app/flash/blah.swf)? Or what is the best way to get the base URL of the Wicket application? I've tried using RequestUtils.toAbsolutePath but it doesn't seem to work reliably and is frequently throwing exceptions.

    Hi im a little confused by this diagram http://www.b-eye-network.com/images/content/i030ht0104.gif (Last diagram in the article) 1 - In the "ACCOUNTING ENTRY" table it shows "DebitEntry" and "CreditEntry" i) is this two column or ii) is this two rows of data? or iii) is it two separate tables on its own, Acounting_entry_credit and Accounting_entry_debit? I have investigated using gdb and it seems the address of new_Message->Time is equalling to the address of Check->Time. They both are structures of different types I am trying to resolve this issue, because, when parser changes the value of new_Message->Time it manipulates the contents of Check-Time Please do suggest how to solve this problem. I have lost(spent) around 10 hours and counting to resolve this issue, and tons of hair. Soham

The object in question has a property that is an array of other Objects, and each of these have properties of different types, mostly primitives, but a couple further Objects and Arrays.
