• Excel export displaying '#####...'

  I'm trying to export an Excel database into .txt (Tab Delimited), but some of my cells are quite large. When I export into a txt some of the cells are exported as '#######....' which is surprisingly useless. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you know an easy fix?   Does anyone know if it's possible to change the minute interval of a UIDatePicker after it's been added to a UIView? Is it possible to show and hide 2 different datePickers? • UITableView not displaying parsed data

  I have a UITableView which is setup in Interface Builder and connected properly to its class in Xcode. I also have a "Importer" Class which downloads and parses an RSS feed and stores the information in an NSMutableArray. However I have verified the parsing is working properly (using breakpoints and NSlog) but no data is showing in the UITable View. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? I'm almost out of them. It's based on the XML performance Apple example.   I have installed fonts for East Asian languages and everything outside of select boxes displays correctly, but I get just get squares inside of select boxes. I've seen from google that other people have experienced this, but there doesn't seem to be a solution that I've found. Anyone out there have one?

• displaying images in a list box so the image resizes based on parent container

  I have an expander with a list box in it that displays image thumbnails. I want the images to be sized according to the size of the listbox and the list box to be sized based on the width of the expander. When I expand the expander I want the list box and the images to resize also.   Hi. My goal is to manipulate the text-styles of my application via DependencyProperties. I got a diagram in which the texts are to be manipulated in size, fontfamily, color, etc. So I'd like to use an interface similar to a rich text editor like Word. Neither the system fonts nor the current fonts of the labels are displayed. The combobox is just empty. • AJAX Partial page update problem when displaying a control

  Hello! I have an interesting problem when using partial page update in asp.net with scriptmanager and a update panel. My scenario looks like this: I'm using the tab control from the ajax toolkit. I also implemented this control using lazy loading, so that when the page is loaded only the current tab gets loaded all the other tabs don't get rendered, because Im using an UpdatePanel (on a .ascx control) on each of these tabs and when a tab gets selected the updatepanel makes a async postback to load the content for a selected tab. On one of my tabs Im using a combobox control from obout.com, and it doesn't work. Now I know why it doesn't work. It doesn't work because the control is shown via a partial page refresh, but to correctly display the control it has to do some "magic" that is - register some .css and .js includes on the page (in the head I guess)....but because I load this control via async page refresh...it can't do these stuff. What kind of workarround do you suggest? Thanks!

  I'm having problem with CSS where, when I run on Mozilla Firefox the CSS is doing fine. But when I run inside Internet Explorer, the CSS is not working. When I try to change the code in the CSS file, it works otherwise. Mozilla is OK, but Internet Explorer is not. I have an idea calling 2 different CSS. For example, style_IE.css and style_moz.css. Both CSS files will be called from header.html. How can I fix this problem? Is there some code that can distinguish between browsers? Whenever the user is running in Internet Explorer, then style_IE is called if not it otherwise.

  I need to display a couple of view controllers (eg, login screen, registration screen etc). What's the best way to bring each screen up?   Hi all, I tried sample example given at this link - Collection View Programming Guide It is simple and it worked. Considering it as a reference I tried a simple application which will show a collection view of web views with some web page displayed over each web view. The model class has two properties: NSString *pageName, and NSURL *pageURL. I then followed each and every step written in tutorial above with required modifications but I was caught in the step - How to bind web view to collection view item? In binding tab it shows three possibilities : Editable, Hidden, Tool tip but none of these is working. Can anyone suggest me way to accomplish my requirement? Thanks, Miraaj

  I have been using the Django Messaging Framework to display messages to a user in the template. I am outputting them to the template like this: <ul> {% for message in messages %} <li{% if message.tags %} class="{{ message.tags }}"{% endif %}>{{ message }}</li> {% endfor %} </ul> This outputs all the messages, errors, warning, success etc. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas how to display only the error messages something like: <ul> {% for message in messages.errors %} <li>{{ message }}</li> {% endfor %} </ul> Any ideas? I did a var dump and noticed that in the for loop with the reverseiterator teh indexes $ii returned are 1 - 2 - 2 !! Whats going on here how can the indexes be repeated? How can I tell one part from the others?

  Computer bombed while posting this, couldnt find a duplicate question but if there is one, forgive me. So, I've run into a wall. And rather than use a ladder to avoid it, I'd like go through it. I'm setting up what I can best describe as a many-to-many relationship in a database. To examplify, imagine I have three primary tables: Items, Categories, Sections(nevermind the potential redundancy) Then I have another table, Properties. Items, Categories, and Sections can be associated with many properties. A single property can be associated with one, all, or none of the other tables. The best way I can figure to do this is to have join tables make the relationship. i.e. tblItems----(Foreign Key)----tblItems_To_Properties----(Foreign Key)----tblProperties In this example, tblItems simply has an "ItemID" Primary Key. tblItems_To_Properties has its own Primary Key(tblItems_To_PropertiesID), a Foreign Key to the Item(ItemID) and a Foreign key to the Property(PropertyID). The Properties table simply has its primary key(PropertyID) I hope this example isnt too confusing...if I have to I can find a way to put a diagram up or something. My problem is, I want to display this in a DataGrid using the Master-Detail method(DevExpress GridControl). I use the tblItems as a test, and I can see the Items in the parent view, but in the child view I see(understandably) the join table and that is it. My goal is to make it so the Grid ignores the join table and shows the Properties table as the only child. Any help on this method or insight into another solution would be muuuuuuuch appreciat

• pushViewController Not Displaying UIView/Nib with tabbar and nav bar

  I'm relatively new to objective c but not programming and am stuck with my iphone app. I created a nav based app with both a navbar and a tab bar controller. I set the tab bar as the root controller. I'm able to switch between each tab without any issues to various UIViews and UITableViews. My issue is that in one of my UITableViews that I call from the TabBarController, didSelectRowAtIndexPath function is suppose to display a new UIView. The below code does not give any errors and runs fine but does not show the new Nib. if(newViewController == nil) { NSLog(@"yes nil"); BookViewController *aNewViewController = [[BookViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"BookOptionView" bundle:nil]; self.newViewController = aNewViewController; [aNewViewController release]; } BookAppDelegate *delegate = (BookAppDelegate *)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; [delegate.appNavBar pushViewController:newViewController animated:YES]; Now when I do the below, it works fine but it gets rid of the nav and tab which I'm assuming because its a modal call instead of pushing the view controller. • iPad: Displaying UIActionSheet with UIPickerView as subview

  I'm in the process of migrating an iPhone app to a universal app. On one of my views, I present a UIActionSheet with a UIPickerView as a subview. On the iPhone this always worked just fine. Of course, on the iPad I had to change a little to present the ActionSheet in a popover control. Here's some psuedo-code to outline where I'm at... actionSheet = [[UIActionSheet alloc] initWithTitle:nil delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:nil destructiveButtonTitle:nil otherButtonTitles:nil]; pickerView = [[UIPickerView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,44,0,0)]; pickerView.delegate = self; pickerView.dataSource = self; pickerView.showsSelectionIndicator = YES; [actionSheet addSubview:pickerView]; if (UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() != UIUserInterfaceIdiomPad){ [actionSheet showInView:self.view]; [actionSheet setBounds:actRect]; }else{ [actionSheet showFromRect:buttonRect inView:[UIApplication sharedApplication].keyWindow animated:YES]; } The resulting popover on the iPad is very small and only the very top of the UIPickerView is visible. • Displaying ppt, doc, and xls in UIWebView doesn't work but pdf does

  It looks like a few people on stackoverflow get this to work but their code isn't posted. I'm using [web loadData:data MIMEType:MIMEType textEncodingName:@"UTF-8" baseURL:nil]; where MIMEType is: @"application/vnd.ms-powerpoint" @"application/vnd.ms-word" @"application/vnd.ms-excel" (BTW, I've seen DOC files use mimetype @"application/msword" but the "vnd" version seems more appropriate. I tried both just in case.) I verified that my 'data' is correct. PDF and TXT files work. When the UIWebView displays PPT, DOC, or XLS files, it's blank. I put NSLOG statements in my UIWebViewDelegate calls. shouldStartLoadWithRequest:<NSMutableURLRequest about:blank> navType:5 webViewDidStartLoad: didFailLoadWithError:Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=100 UserInfo=0x122503a0 "Operation could not be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error 100.)" didFailLoadWithError:Error Domain=WebKitErrorDomain Code=102 UserInfo=0x12253840 "Frame load interrupted" so obviously the load is failing, but why? If I change my mimetype to @"text/plain" for a PPT file, the UIWebView loads fine and displays unprintable characters, as expected. That's telling me the 'data' passed to loadData: is ok. Meaning my mimetypes are bad? And just to make sure my PPT, DOC, and XLS files are indeed ok to display, I created a simple html file with anchor tags to the files. When the html file is displayed in Safari on the iPhone, clicking on the files displays correctly in Safari. • Alpha transparent PNGs not displaying correctly in Mobile Safari

  I'm using some semi-transparent PNGs as background-images on various websites. These are usually something like a 1x1 image with a 30-percent opaque white layer. I've noticed that Mobile Safari does not display them correctly, giving them a darker/grayish tint. I've created a couple test pages to illustrate. View them both in your normal browser, and then on Mobile Safari, and you should see what I mean. This shows 11 red images of varying opacities on white: http://thecompleteworks.org/alpha-tests/index-red.html This shows 11 white images of varying opacities on blue: http://thecompleteworks.org/alpha-tests/index.html Is this a MobileSafari bug (I couldn't imagine so), or do I need to do something different, either to my pages or PNGs? (Here's how I create the PNGs: In Photoshop, create a 1x1 transparent canvas. Draw a white rectangle in Layer 1. Set opacity to, say 30 percent, Save for Web as 24-bit PNG with transparency.)

• Taking video from video camera and displaying it with MPMoviePlayerController IPhone SDK

  Has anyone tried taking a video from the camera and then using the video player provided to play it? When you take the video in portrait mode, sometimes the movie will play (when the player puts it in landscape mode) and when it puts it in portrait mode you cannot view the movie all you hear is sound,sometimes in landscape mode is flickers and does not play right, has anyone encountered this and found a way to fix it?
