How can I open a new browser tab in ASP.NET and write to it? I don't want to redirect to a page but I want to write/output the content directly from source.
Hey there,
I have a situation where my page loads some information from a database, which is then modified through AJAX.
I click a link to another page, then use the 'back' button to return to the original page.
The changes to the page through AJAX I made before don't appear, because the browser has the unchanged page stored in the cache.
Is there a way of fixing this without setting the page not to cache at all?
Thanks :)
My website utilizes ASP. I have a link to a PowerPoint file within my website's file structure. The file is replaced every day with an updated version, but when users click on the link, the browser displays the cached version if they have visited before. How can I ensure that the updated version is loaded without asking the user to clear his or her cache?
I'm loading a webpage inside a HTML component in AIR. By default, when something is clicked the next page is loaded inside the HTML component itself. I want the links from that page to open in an external web browser.

You can read your browser dimensions with jQuerys $document.height or with simple JS via height: window.innerHeight || document.body.clientHeight.
But how do I apply the value to a CSS class?
I am trying to stop the default mouse wheel event that is called on the window and on a div and call my own function instead on the div. I need this to be cross-browser (without the use of a library. I know I need to use an eventListener and I think have to use both onmousewheel and DOMMouseScroll (for FF) but I think am getting caught up in the implementation somewhere.
I appreciate any and all help.

Is it good for user experience to duplicate browser/keyboard functionality?
For example: to provide these links on a web-page.
"Back to top" link
"Print this page" link
"Add to Favorite" link
"Back" button/link
"Text zoom" button

We've got our ETags and expiry headers setup properly and when browsing around the site without posting it is really very snappy. However, after any POST (which is almost invariably followed with a 302) you can see the browser re-request all the images. Is there something that could be causing this? Is there a setting that handles this?

The company I work for produces allot of video and we want to target as many devices as possible, but the question came up of what does the Android do?
I personally own an Android based phone running 2.1, but I can't seem to get the HTML 5 tag to work. Even when I can trigger the browser to playback the video it just throws a notification error that it can't.
Are there guidelines to producing Android/HTML 5 compatible videos? Is it truly supported?

I am researching using silverlight 4 to develop a desktop application that can be installed from a browser window, now the tricky part is that I want a lightweight database embedded into the application. The database should install with the rest of the application and it should ideally work on both windows and mac systems. Originally I was thinking sqlite would be suitable for this but I have learned that it is not compatible with silverlight. Does anyone know of a solution for this?

SO i totally understand why we should namespace in javascript, but is it mainly for organizational purposes and to keep the global namespace uncluttered?. Does namepacing actually help in performance of the browser/JS engine.
Just wondering what your thoughts were.
