  • Databinding between UserControls?

    - by Dave
    I've got a situation where one of my UserControls would like to display a list of strings in a droplist, and the ItemsSource is set to another UserControl's ObservableCollection. The consumer of this data has its droplist defined in XAML like this: <ComboBox Grid.Column="1" SelectedItem="{Binding MyItem, Mode=TwoWay}" ItemsSource="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type UserControl}}, Path=DataContext.MyItems}" Margin="3"></ComboBox> MyItems is defined as an ObservableCollection<string> in the producer UserControl. Now everything works fine when the controls are loaded. As long as MyItems is populated first, and then the consumer UserControl is displayed, all of the items are there. I obviously don't get any errors in the Output Window or anything like that. The issue I have is that when the ObservableCollection is modified, those changes are not reflected in the consumer UserControl! I've never had this problem before, but all of my previous uses of ObservableCollection with updating the collection are within a single control, and databinding is not inter-UserControl. Is there something I did wrong? Is there a good way to actually debug this? Reed Copsey indicates here that inter-UserControl databinding is possible. Unfortunately, my favorite Bea Stollnitz article on WPF databinding debugging doesn't suggest anything that I could use for this particular problem.

  • What does suds mean by "<faultcode/> not mapped to message part" ?

    - by Pratik Patel
    I'm using suds for the first time and trying to communicate with a server hosted by an external company. When I call a method on the server I get this XML back. soap:Server Can't use string ("") as an ARRAY ref while "strict refs" in use at /vindicia/site_perl/Vindicia/Soap/DocLitUtils.pm line 130. The exception thrown is this: File "C:\Python26\lib\site-packages\suds-0.4-py2.6.egg\suds\client.py", line 538, in __call__ return client.invoke(args, kwargs) File "C:\Python26\lib\site-packages\suds-0.4-py2.6.egg\suds\client.py", line 602, in invoke result = self.send(msg) File "C:\Python26\lib\site-packages\suds-0.4-py2.6.egg\suds\client.py", line 634, in send result = self.succeeded(binding, reply.message) File "C:\Python26\lib\site-packages\suds-0.4-py2.6.egg\suds\client.py", line 669, in succeeded r, p = binding.get_reply(self.method, reply) File "C:\Python26\lib\site-packages\suds-0.4-py2.6.egg\suds\bindings\binding.py", line 157, in get_reply result = self.replycomposite(rtypes, nodes) File "C:\Python26\lib\site-packages\suds-0.4-py2.6.egg\suds\bindings\binding.py", line 227, in replycomposite raise Exception(' not mapped to message part' % tag) Exception: not mapped to message part Any idea why suds is throwing the exception? Any thoughts on how it could be fixed?

  • Asynchronous HTTP Client for Java

    - by helifreak
    As a relative newbie in the Java world, I am finding many things frustratingly obtuse to accomplish that are relatively trivial in many other frameworks. A primary example is a simple solution for asynchronous http requests. Seeing as one doesn't seem to already exist, what is the best approach? Creating my own threads using a blocking type lib like httpclient or the built-in java http stuff, or should I use the newer non-blocking io java stuff - it seems particularly complex for something which should be simple. What I am looking for is something easy to use from a developer point of view - something similar to URLLoader in AS3 - where you simply create a URLRequest - attach a bunch of event handlers to handle the completion, errors, progress, etc, and call a method to fire it off. If you are not familiar with URLLoader in AS3, its so super easy and looks something like this: private void getURL(String url) { URLLoader loader = new URLLoader(); loader.addEventListener(Event.Complete, completeHandler); loader.addEventListener(HTTPStatusEvent.HTTP_STATUS, httpStatusHandler); loader.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, ioErrorHandler); URLRequest request = new URLRequest(url); // fire it off - this is asynchronous so we handle // completion with event handlers loader.load(request); } private void completeHandler(Event event) { URLLoader loader = (URLLoader)event.target; Object results = loader.data; // process results } private void httpStatusHandler(Event event) { // check status code } private void ioErrorHandler(Event event) { // handle errors }

  • how to add item to Spinner's ArrayAdapter?

    - by allen-c
    i had a EditText , a button and a spinner . When click the button , the spinner will add a new item with name you entered in the EditText. But here is the question, my adapter.add() method seems doesn't work...here is my code: public class Spr extends Activity { Button bt1; EditText et; ArrayAdapter<CharSequence> adapter; Spinner spinner; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); bt1 = (Button)this.findViewById(R.id.bt1); et = (EditText)this.findViewById(R.id.et); spinner = (Spinner)this.findViewById(R.id.spr); adapter = ArrayAdapter.createFromResource( this, R.array.planets_array, android.R.layout.simple_spinner_item); adapter.setDropDownViewResource(android.R.layout.simple_spinner_dropdown_item); spinner.setAdapter(adapter); bt1.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { String temp = et.getText().toString(); adapter.add(temp); adapter.notifyDataSetChanged(); spinner.setAdapter(adapter); } }); spinner.setOnItemSelectedListener(new Spinner.OnItemSelectedListener(){ @Override public void onItemSelected(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int pos, long id) { Toast.makeText(parent.getContext(), "The planet is " + parent.getItemAtPosition(pos).toString(), Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); } @Override public void onNothingSelected(AdapterView<?> arg0) { }}); } }

  • PHP template class with variables?

    - by Josh
    I want to make developing on my new projects easier, and I wanted a bare bones very simple template engine solution. I looked around on the net and everything is either too bloated, or makes me cringe. My HTML files will be like so: <html> <head> <title>{PAGE_TITLE}</title> </head> <body> <h1>{PAGE_HEADER}</h1> <p>Some random content that is likely not to be parsed with PHP.</p> </body> </html> Obviously, I want to replace {PAGE_TITLE} and {PAGE_HEADER} with something I set with PHP. Like this: <?php $pageElements = array( '{PAGE_TITLE}' => 'Some random title.', '{PAGE_HEADER}' => 'A page header!' ); ?> And I'd use something like str_replace and load the replaced HTML into a string, then print it to the page? This is what I'm on the path towards doing at the moment... does anyone have any advice or a way I can do this better? Thanks.

  • cURL gets response with utf-8 BOM

    - by Reshat Belyalov
    In my script I send data with cURL, and enabled CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER. The response is json encoded data. When I'm trying to json_decode, it returns null. Then I found that response contains utf-8 BOM symbols at the beginning of string (). There is some experiments: $data = $data = curl_exec($ch); echo $data; the result is {"field_1":"text_1","field_2":"text_2","field_3":"text_3"} $data = $data = curl_exec($ch); echo mb_detect_encoding($data); result - UTF-8 $data = $data = curl_exec($ch); echo mb_convert_encoding($data, 'UTF-8', mb_detect_encoding($data)); // identical to echo mb_convert_encoding($data, 'UTF-8', 'UTF-8'); result - {"field_1":"text_1","field_2":"text_2","field_3":"text_3"} The one thing that helps is removing first 3 symbols: if (substr($data, 0, 3) == pack('CCC', 239, 187, 191)) { $data = substr($data, 3); } But what if there will be another BOM? So the question is: How to detect right encoding of cURL response? OR how to detect what BOM has arrrived? Or maybe how to convert the response with BOM? Thanks.

  • Relative XPath node selection with C# XmlDocument

    - by lox
    Imagine the following XML document: <root> <person_data> <person> <name>John</name> <age>35</age> </person> <person> <name>Jim</name> <age>50</age> </person> </person_data> <locations> <location> <name>John</name> <country>USA</country> </location> <location> <name>Jim</name> <country>Japan</country> </location> </locations> </root> I then select the person node for Jim: XmlNode personNode = doc.SelectSingleNode("//person[name = 'Jim']"); And now from this node with a single XPath select I would like to retrieve Jim's location node. Something like: XmlNode locationNode = personNode.SelectSingleNode("//location[name = {reference to personNode}/name]"); Since I am selecting based on the personNode it would be handy if I could reference it in the select. Is this possible?.. is the connection there? Sure I could put in a few extra lines of code and put the name into a variable and use this in the XPath string but that is not what I am asking.

  • Contact-app like scrollinglist on android

    - by Alxandr
    I'm writing my first android app (I'm a noob at android, but decent at java). The first screen of the app consists of a huge list (about 1.5K items) of Manga-objects. The code I use is as following: main.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/LinearLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <ListView android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:id="@+id/android:list"></ListView> <TextView android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:text="@string/list_no_items" android:id="@+id/android:empty"></TextView> </LinearLayout> row.xml: <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/LinearLayout01" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeight" android:padding="6dip" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <ImageView android:id="@+id/icon" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_marginRight="6dip" android:src="@drawable/icon" /> <LinearLayout android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="0dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> <TextView android:id="@+id/toptext" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="0dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:gravity="center_vertical" /> <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="0dip" android:layout_weight="1" android:id="@+id/bottomtext" android:singleLine="true" android:ellipsize="marquee" /> </LinearLayout> </LinearLayout> Then I have a adapter which basically takes a Manga-object and puts it's name in the rows toptext, and it's latest updated date in the bottomtext. However, (this might be caused by the virtualization of the unit though), the result is really slow. Scrolling the list takes forever and you can only scroll small peaces of the time. How can I make the list work like the one in the contacts-app? So that when you start scrolling a handle pops out at the right side of the screen, and when you drag it letters shows up as of how far you've scrolled (the list is sorted alphabetically), and also, is there a way I could improve the performance of the list?

  • Fluent NHibernate is bringing ClassMap Id and SubClassMap Id to referenced table?

    - by Andy
    HI, I have the following entities I'm trying to map: public class Product { public int ProductId { get; private set; } public string Name { get; set; } } public class SpecialProduct : Product { public ICollection<Option> Options { get; private set; } } public class Option { public int OptionId { get; private set; } } And the following mappings: public class ProductMap : ClassMap<Product> { public ProductMap() { Id( x => x.ProductId ); Map( x => x.Name ); } public class SpecialProductMap : SubclassMap<SpecialProduct> { public SpecialProductMap() { Extends<ProductMap>(); HasMany( p => p.Options ).AsSet().Cascade.SaveUpdate(); } } public class OptionMap : ClassMap<Option> { public OptionMap() { Id( x => x.OptionId ); } } The problem is that my tables end up like this: Product -------- ProductId Name SpecialProduct -------------- ProductId Option ------------ OptionId ProductId // This is wrong SpecialProductId // This is wrong There should only be the one ProductId and single reference to the SpecialProduct table, but we get "both" Ids and two references to SpecialProduct.ProductId. Any ideas? Thanks Andy

  • Unit testing Monorail's RenderText method

  • Implement DDD and drawing the line between the an Entity and value object

    - by William
    I am implementing an EMR project. I would like to apply a DDD based approach to the problem. I have identified the "Patient" as being the core object of the system. I understand Patient would be an entity object as well as an aggregrate. I have also identified that every patient must have a "Doctor" and "Medical Records". The medical records would encompass Labs, XRays, Encounter.... I believe those would be entity objects as well. Let us take a Encounter for example. My implementation currently has a few fields as "String" properties, which are the complaint, assessment and plan. The other items necessary for an Encounter are vitals. I have implemented vitals as a value object. Given that it will be necessary to retrieve vitals without haveing to retrieve each Encounter then do vitals become part of the Encounter aggregate and patient aggregrate. I am assuming I could view the Encounter as an aggregrate, because other items are spwaned from the Encounter like prescriptions, lab orders, xrays. Is approach right that I am taking in identifying my entities and aggregates. In the case of vitals, they are specific to a patient, but outside of that there is not any other identity associated with them.

  • Fluent NHibernate, dynamically change Table of mapping?

    - by Steffen
    Hello, with fluent nhibernate, is there a way to dynamically switch the table of a mapping at runtime? For example: public class XYClassMap : ClassMap<XY> { public XYClassMap( ) { Table("XYTable"); Id(d => d.Id).GeneratedBy.Identity(); Map(d => d.Value); (...) Given that there are multiple plugins, each of them uses this one class, but they need to work with different tables. I am looking for something like this: public class XY { public string Tablename {get; set;} } public class XYClassMap : ClassMap<XY> { public XYClassMap( ) { Table(Tablename); Id(d => d.Id).GeneratedBy.Identity(); Map(d => d.Value); (...) So every action method could work with the same class and only would need to set this one property "Tablename". Thanks for any help, Steffen

    I'm trying to internationalize a test application with GWT following the instruction and I have: com.example.client.MyConstants.java com.example.client.MyConstants_en.properties com.example.client.MyConstants_fr.properties com.example.client.MyAppEntryPoint.java In this code I have: public interface MyConstants extends Constants { @DefaultStringValue("HelloWorld") String hellowWorld(); } And public class MyAppEntryPoint implements EntryPoint { public void onModuleLoad() { MyConstants constants = GWT.create(MyConstants.class); VerticalPanel mainPanel = new VerticalPanel(); mainPanel.add(new Label(constants.hellowWorld())); RootPanel.get("myContainer").add(mainPanel); } } For MyApp.gwt.xml I have: <module rename-to="myModule"> <inherits name="com.google.gwt.xml.XML" /> <inherits name="com.google.gwt.i18n.I18N"/> <inherits name='com.google.gwt.user.theme.standard.Standard'/> <!-- Specify the app entry point class. --> <entry-point class='com.example.client.MyAppEntryPoint'/> <extend-property name="locale" values="en,fr"/> </module> In the html I have: ... It all seems to work as long as I don't include in the xml file. As soon as I do, I get the following exception: [ERROR] Generator 'com.google.gwt.i18n.rebind.LocalizableGenerator' threw threw an exception while rebinding 'com.example.client.myConstants' java.lang.NullPointerException: null ... Any help would be greatly appreciated on why it's throwing the exception. -

  • IIS: No Session being handed out, but only in production

    - by Wayne
    I've reproduced this in a simple project - details below. It's a WCF service in ASP.NET compatibility mode. What I'm seeing is that when run on the dev machine (Win7), a HTTP session id is available inside the service operation (HttpContext.Current.Session is non-null). But when deployed to the server (Win2k8R2), I get "No session". On both machines the app is configured to use the classic app pool, and the app pools themselves are configured identically as far as I can tell. The only differences I can discern between the two applications is that on the dev box, under "Handler Mappings", ISAPI-dll is disabled (not on the server), and on the server there's a spurious handler called "AboMapperCustom-7105160" (does not exist on the dev box). What should I be looking at next? Am I missing something head-slappingly simple? Service is this: [AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode = AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)] public class Service2 { [OperationContract] public string DoWork() { if (HttpContext.Current != null) { if (HttpContext.Current.Session != null) { return "SessionId: " + HttpContext.Current.Session.SessionID; } else { return "No Session"; } } else { return "No Context"; } } } Config is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <configuration> <configSections> <section name="log4net" type="log4net.Config.Log4NetConfigurationSectionHandler,log4net, Version=1.2.9.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b32731d11ce58905" /> <sectionGroup name="system.web.extensions" type="System.Web.Configuration.SystemWebExtensionsSectionGroup, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"> <sectionGroup name="scripting" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingSectionGroup, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"> <section name="scriptResourceHandler" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingScriptResourceHandlerSection, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" requirePermission="false" allowDefinition="MachineToApplication" /> <sectionGroup name="webServices" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingWebServicesSectionGroup, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"> <section name="jsonSerialization" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingJsonSerializationSection, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" requirePermission="false" allowDefinition="Everywhere" /> <section name="profileService" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingProfileServiceSection, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" requirePermission="false" allowDefinition="MachineToApplication" /> <section name="authenticationService" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingAuthenticationServiceSection, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" requirePermission="false" allowDefinition="MachineToApplication" /> <section name="roleService" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingRoleServiceSection, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" requirePermission="false" allowDefinition="MachineToApplication" /> </sectionGroup> </sectionGroup> </sectionGroup> </configSections> <log4net> <appender name="LogFile" type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender"> <file value="C:\Temp\Test.log4net.log" /> <rollingStyle value="Once" /> <maxSizeRollBackups value="10" /> <layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout"> <conversionPattern value="%d{ISO8601} [%5t] %-5p %c{1} %m%n" /> </layout> </appender> <root> <level value="DEBUG" /> <appender-ref ref="LogFile" /> </root> </log4net> <appSettings /> <connectionStrings /> <system.web> <compilation debug="true"> <assemblies> <add assembly="System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B77A5C561934E089" /> <add assembly="System.Data.DataSetExtensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B77A5C561934E089" /> <add assembly="System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" /> <add assembly="System.Xml.Linq, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B77A5C561934E089" /> </assemblies> </compilation> <!-- The <authentication> section enables configuration of the security authentication mode used by ASP.NET to identify an incoming user. --> <authentication mode="Windows" /> <!-- The <customErrors> section enables configuration of what to do if/when an unhandled error occurs during the execution of a request.   • EclEmma JAVA Code coverage - Unable to coverage service layer of RESTful Webservice

    - by Radhika
    I am using EMMA eclipse plugin to generate code coverage reports. My application is a RESTFul webservice. Junits are written such that a client is created for the webservice and invoked with various inputs. However EMMA shows 0% coverage for the source folder. The test folder alone is covered. The application server(jetty server) is started using a main method. • WCF/MSMQ Transport Security with Certificates

    - by user104295
    Hi there, my goal is to secure the communication between MSMQ Queue Managers – I don’t want unknown clients sending messages to my MSMQ server. I have spent many hours now trying to get Transport security working for the net.msmq binding in WCF, where MSMQ is in Workgroup mode and the client and server do not have Active Directory… so I’m using certificates. I have created a new X.509 certificate, called Kristan and put it into the “Trusted people” store on the server and into the My store of Current User of the client. The error I’m getting is: An error occurred while sending to the queue: Unrecognized error -1072824272 (0xc00e0030).Ensure that MSMQ is installed and running. If you are sending to a local queue, ensure the queue exists with the required access mode and authorization. Using smartsniff, I see that there’s no attempted connection with the remote MSMQ, however, it’s an error probably coming from the local queue manager. The stack trace is: at System.ServiceModel.Channels.MsmqOutputChannel.OnSend(Message message, TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.OutputChannel.Send(Message message, TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.OutputChannelBinder.Send(Message message, TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel.Call(String action, Boolean oneway, ProxyOperationRuntime operation, Object[] ins, Object[] outs, TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannelProxy.InvokeService(IMethodCallMessage methodCall, ProxyOperationRuntime operation) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannelProxy.Invoke(IMessage message) The code:- EndpointAddress endpointAddress = new EndpointAddress(new Uri(endPointAddress)); NetMsmqBinding clientBinding = new NetMsmqBinding(); clientBinding.Security.Mode = NetMsmqSecurityMode.Transport; clientBinding.Security.Transport.MsmqAuthenticationMode = MsmqAuthenticationMode.Certificate; clientBinding.Security.Transport.MsmqProtectionLevel = System.Net.Security.ProtectionLevel.Sign; clientBinding.ExactlyOnce = false; clientBinding.UseActiveDirectory = false; // start new var channelFactory = new ChannelFactory<IAsyncImportApi>(clientBinding, endpointAddress); channelFactory.Credentials.ClientCertificate.SetCertificate("CN=Kristan", StoreLocation.CurrentUser, StoreName.My); The queue is flagged as ‘Authenticated’ on the server. I have checked the effect of this and if I turn off all security in the client send, then I get ‘Signature is invalid’ – which is understandable and shows that it’s definitely looking for a sig. Are there are special ports that I need to check are open for cert-based msmq auth? thanks Kris
