  • Building resultset using collection object

    - by Bhaskara Krishna Mohan Potam
Hi, I had an issue in building the resultset using java. Here it goes... I am storing a collection object which is organized as row wise taken from a resultset object and putting the collection object(which is stored as vector/array list) in cache and trying to retrieve the same collection object. Here i need to build back the resultset again using the collection object. Now my doubt is building the resultset in this way possible or not? Please let me know asap. Thanks in advance, Bhaskar

  • Is MacBook powerful enough to do Ipad development? or do I need a MacBook Pro?

    - by ronaldwidha
The title probably says it all. Considering an ipad's processor is nothing compared to a macbook, I would think a Macbook should be more than capable to run the simulator. However, not knowing much about iphone/ipad development, I'd like to get some opinions on this. for e.g. how many apps are typically need to be run for ipad dev (editor, debugger, perf monitor, trace log, etc). are these apps resource (memory, cpu) intensive? please do not take into consideration the actual image, 3d, video, sound development. I understand one would need quite a beefy machine to produce these type of creative assets. What I'm looking at is a machine to do code development, physics, putting together the produced assets (images, vector graphics, 3d video, sound, etc).

  • (External) Java library for creating Tree structure ?

    - by suVasH.....
I am planning to implement a tree structure where every node has two children and a parent along with various other node properties (and I'd want to do this in Java ) Now, the way to it probably is to create the node such that it links to other nodes ( linked list trick ), but I was wondering if there is any good external library to handle all this low level stuff. ( for eg. the ease of stl::vector vs array in C++ ). I've heard of JDots, but still since i haven't started (and haven't programmed a lot in Java), I'd rather hear out before I begin.

  • Rotation towards an object in 3d space

    - by retoucher
hello, i have two coordinates on a 2d plane in 3d space, and am trying to rotate one coordinate (a vector) to face the other coordinate. my vertical axis is the y-axis, so if both of the coordinates are located flat on the 2d plane, they would both have a y-axis of 0, and their x and z coordinates determine their position length/width-wise on the plane. right now, i'm calculating the angle like so (language agnostic): angle = atan2(z2-z1,x2-x1); and am rotating/translating in space like so: pushMatrix(); rotateY(angle); popMatrix(); this doesn't seem to be working though. are my calculations/process correct?

  • How to turn off Tomcat logging in Eclipse?

    - by kirdie
I develop a Vaadin project in Eclipse that I start through Tomcat 6 which gets started directly by Eclipse. Tomcat prints an enormous amount of log messages though on each start which makes it hard to see the output of my own Application. I have already replaced all log levels in tomcat6/conf/logging.properties by WARNING (e.g. java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level = WARNING) but I still get many INFO messages. How can I turn this off or restrict the log messages to WARNING? • Projection matrix + world plane ~> Homography from image plane to world plane

    - by B3ret
I think I have my wires crossed on this, it should be quite easy. I have a projection matrix from world coordinates to image coordinates (4D homogeneous to 3D homgeneous), and therefore I also have the inverse projection matrix from image coordinates to world "rays". I want to project points of the image back onto a plane within the world (which is given of course as 4D homogeneous vector). The needed homography should be uniquely identified, yet I can not figure out how to compute it. Of course I could also intersect the back-projected rays with the world plane, but this seems not a good way, knowing that there MUST be a homography doing this for me. Thanks in advance, Ben

  • GIS: When and why to use ArcObjects over GDAL programming to work with ArcGIS rasters and vectors?

    - by anotherobject
Im just starting off with GDAL + python to support operations that cannot be done with ArcGIS python geoprocessing scripting. Mainly I am doing spatial modeling/analysis/editing of raster and vector data. I am a bit confused when ArcObject development is required versus when GDAL can be used? Is there functionality of ArcObjects that GDAL does not do? Is the opposite true too? I am assuming that ArcObjects are more useful in developing online tools versus Desktop analysis and modeling where the difference is more to do with preference? In my case i prefer GDAL because of python support, which I believe ArcObjects lack. thanks!

  • Solr startup script problem

    - by Camran
I have installed solr and it works finally... I have now problems setting it up to start automatically with a start command. I have followed a tutorial and created a file called solr in the /etc/init.d/solr dir... Here is that file: #!/bin/sh -e # SOLR auto-start # # description: auto-starts solr engine # processname: solr-production # pidfile: /var/run/solr-production.pid NAME="solr" PIDFILE="/var/run/solr-production.pid" LOG_FILE="/var/log/solr-production.log" SOLR_DIR="/etc/jetty" JAVA_OPTIONS="-Xmx1024m -DSTOP.PORT=8079 -DSTOP.KEY=stopkey -jar start.jar" JAVA="/usr/bin/java" start() { echo -n "Starting $NAME... " if [ -f $PIDFILE ]; then echo "is already running!" else cd $SOLR_DIR $JAVA $JAVA_OPTIONS 2> $LOG_FILE & sleep 2 echo `ps -ef | grep -v grep | grep java | awk '{print $2}'` > $PIDFILE echo "(Done)" fi return 0 } stop() { echo -n "Stopping $NAME... " if [ -f $PIDFILE ]; then cd $SOLR_DIR $JAVA $JAVA_OPTIONS --stop sleep 2 rm $PIDFILE echo "(Done)" else echo "can not stop, it is not running!" fi return 0 } case "$1" in start) start ;; stop) stop ;; restart) stop sleep 5 start ;; *) echo "Usage: $0 (start | stop | restart)" exit 1 ;; esac Whenever I do solr -start I get this error: "Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap" I think this is because of the file above... Also here is where I have solr installed: var/www/solr and here is the start.jar file located: var/www/start.jar Help me out if you know whats causing this. Thanks BTW: OS is ubuntu 9.10

  • How to correctly calculate address spaces?

    - by user337308
Below is an example of a question given on my last test in a Computer Engineering course. Anyone mind explaining to me how to get the start/end addresses of each? I have listed the correct answers at the bottom... The MSP430F2410 device has an address space of 64 KB (the basic MSP430 architecture). Fill in the table below if we know the following. The first 16 bytes of the address space (starting at the address 0x0000) is reserved for special function registers (IE1, IE2, IFG1, IFG2, etc.), the next 240 bytes is reserved for 8-bit peripheral devices, and the next 256 bytes is reserved for 16-bit peripheral devices. The RAM memory capacity is 2 Kbytes and it starts at the address 0x1100. At the top of the address space is 56KB of flash memory reserved for code and interrupt vector table. What Start Address End Address Special Function Registers (16 bytes) 0x0000 0x000F 8-bit peripheral devices (240 bytes) 0x0010 0x00FF 16-bit peripheral devices (256 bytes) 0x0100 0x01FF RAM memory (2 Kbytes) 0x1100 0x18FF Flash Memory (56 Kbytes) 0x2000 0xFFFF

  • Is there a limit setting a php_admin_value in php-fpm?

I am trying to set a large value in the configuration of a pool in php-fpm, but at some point it just doesn't start anymore. php_admin_value[disable_functions] = dl,exec,passthru,shell_exec,system,proc_open,popen,curl_exec,curl_multi_exec,parse_ini_file,show_source,pcntl_exec,include,include_once,require,require_once,posix_mkfifo,posix_getlogin,posix_ttyname,getenv,get_current_use,proc_get_status,get_cfg_va,disk_free_space,disk_total_space,diskfreespace,getcwd,getlastmo,getmygid,getmyinode,getmypid,getmyuid,ini_set,mail,proc_nice,proc_terminate,proc_close,pfsockopen,fsockopen,apache_child_terminate,posix_kill,posix_mkfifo,posix_setpgid,posix_setsid,posix_setuid,fopen,tmpfile,bzopen,gzopen,chgrp,chmod,chown,copy,file_put_contents,lchgrp,lchown,link,mkdi,move_uploaded_file,rename,rmdi,symlink,tempnam,touch,unlink,iptcembed,ftp_get,ftp_nb_get,file_exists,file_get_contents,file,fileatime,filectime,filegroup,fileinode,filemtime,fileowne,fileperms,filesize,filetype,glob,is_di,is_executable,is_file,is_link,is_readable,is_uploaded_file,is_writable,is_writeable,linkinfo,lstat,parse_ini_file,pathinfo,readfile,readlink,realpath,stat,gzfile,create_function When trying to restart php-fpm it fails with the following message: Stopping php-fpm: [ OK ] Starting php-fpm: [20-Oct-2013 22:31:52] ERROR: [/etc/php-fpm.d/codepad.conf:235] value is NULL for a ZEND_INI_PARSER_ENTRY [20-Oct-2013 22:31:52] ERROR: Unable to include /etc/php-fpm.d/codepad.conf from /etc/php-fpm.conf at line 235 [20-Oct-2013 22:31:52] ERROR: failed to load configuration file '/etc/php-fpm.conf' [20-Oct-2013 22:31:52] ERROR: FPM initialization failed [FAILED] When I remove the last disabled function (create_function) it start again. I also tried with other functions, but this gives the same error so it's not related to the create_function function. The string currently is just over 1KB in size so it looks like I have hit a limit here? Is my assumption correct? Is there a way to overcome this limit? I also tried to add another php_admin_value[disable_functions] underneath it (hoping it would be appended), but that didn't work (it just used the first one).

  • 3 hash functions to best hash sliding window strings for a bloom filter with minimum collisions

    - by Duaa
Hi all: I need 3 hash functions to hash strings of a sliding window moving over a text, to be used later to search within a bloom vector. I'm using C# in my programming I read something about rolling hash functions and cyclic polynomials, they are used for sliding window applications. But really, I did not find any codes, they are just descriptions So please, if anyone have any idea about 3 best C# hash functions to use with sliding window strings of fixed size (5-char), that consume less time and have minimum number of collisions, either they are rolling hash functions or others, please help me with some C# codes or links to hash functions names Duaa

  • How to override ggplot2's axis formatting?

    - by Richie Cotton
    When you choose a log scale, ggplot2 formats the breaks like 10^x. I'd like it to not do that. For example, the code below should display a graph with ticks at 1, 2, 5 etc, not 10^0, 10^0.3, 10^0.69 etc. library(ggplot2) dfr <- data.frame(x = 1:100, y = rlnorm(100)) breaks <- as.vector(c(1, 2, 5) %o% 10^(-1:1)) p1 <- ggplot(dfr, aes(x, y)) + geom_point() + scale_y_log10(breaks = breaks) print(p1) I guess that adding a formatter argument to scale_y_log10 would do the trick, but I'm not sure what to put in the argument, or where the options might be documented.

  • matlab noninteger step indexing

So, I have a vector: k = 1:100; And I want to take 19 elements from it, which are roughly equally-spaced. So I write this: m = k(1:(99/18):end); This works great, except for a tiny problem: Warning: Integer operands are required for colon operator when used as index m = 1 7 12 18 23 29 34 40 45 51 56 62 67 73 78 84 89 95 100 Now, I understand why this comes up, but I'd like to get rid of that warning. Is there a "right" way to do this without a warning?

  • Unable to run cvlc in a script

    - by VxJasonxV
I'm creating a script that issues a few curl commands in order to access a time-protected mms stream link, then set up a relay using cvlc (vlc's command line interface) for my own use on an unencumbered player. The curl aspect of this is working, as I can run as a browser and curl side by side and get the same access url. (It's time locked meaning the stream will work forever, but you have to connect quickly or the URL will time out.) The very end of the script prints the command I will run, which is then followed up by "exec $CMD". When I echo $CMD I get: cvlc --sout '#standard{access=http,mux=asf,dst=0.0.0.0:58194}' mms://[...] But the cvlc execution output says: [0x9743d0] main interface error: no suitable interface module [0x962120] main libvlc error: interface "globalhotkeys, none" initialization failed [0x9743d0] dummy interface: using the dummy interface module... • Linux wireless disconnect every 20 minutes

    - by james
My laptop uses CentOS 6.3 with kernel 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64. My wireless adaptor is Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000. My wireless connection always get off after about 20 minutes. The network applet shows the connection is still on with good signal strength, but I just cannot load any web pages even the configuration page of the wireless router. The problem will continue until I disable and reconnect the wireless. Other devices like my cell phone uses the same wireless network without the problem. Even yesterday I'm using the same laptop with Fedora 17 without this problem. I also searched the internet and someone said running services NetworkManager and network simultaneously may be a problem. But I cannot stop any one of them because: if I stop network and start NetworkManager, the network service will start automatically; if I stop NetworkManager and run network, it says "Device does not seem to be present, delaying initialization." when trying to bringing on the wireless. What shall I do to get rid of the problem? Thank you very much!

  • Using Python tuples as vectors

    - by Etaoin
I need to represent immutable vectors in Python ("vectors" as in linear algebra, not as in programming). The tuple seems like an obvious choice. The trouble is when I need to implement things like addition and scalar multiplication. If a and b are vectors, and c is a number, the best I can think of is this: tuple(map(lambda x,y: x + y, a, b)) # add vectors 'a' and 'b' tuple(map(lambda x: x * c, a)) # multiply vector 'a' by scalar 'c' which seems inelegant; there should be a clearer, simpler way to get this done -- not to mention avoiding the call to tuple, since map returns a list. Is there a better option?

  • Winamp playing sound but no video

    - by Greg Sansom
I am having problems playing video in Winamp (the movie I am trying to play is an AVI - not sure if other formats work). I have installed the K-Lite Codec Pack, and the video does work in Winamp Classic. I can also play the video in Winamp on another machine (although I can't remember the exact configuration details of that machine - and I don't think they're relevant). There are a few symptoms: The content of the Video view is either empty, transparent, or displays rendering from other programs. Opening the Visualization view shows the following error: MILKDROP ERROR DirectX initialization failed (GetDeviceCaps). This means that no valid 3D-accelerated display adapter could be found on your computer. If you know this is not the case, it is possible that your graphics subsystem is unstable; please try rebooting your computer and then try to run the plugin again. Otherwise, please install a 3D-accelerated display adapter. Trying to open streams via the SHOUTCast TV plugin shows Error opening video output, and the video does not open. Opening the file with WMC causes the following error (although the movie still plays): Error creating DX9 allocation presenter CreateDevice failed D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE There are no warnings displayed in Device Manager, although the display adapter is the standard Windows one. Running DxDiag shows no problems (codec for Video listed as XviD 1.1.2 Final). GSpot reports that codecs are installed. System specs: - Windows Server 2008 r2 Standard 64-bit, with latest updates; - .NET 3.5.1 installed; - Winamp v5.6.01 (latest version); - DirectX 11 (Latest version); - K-Lite Codec Pack 7.0.0 (Full); - Machine is HP DC7600 - full specs here. Please comment if there is any more information which will help to diagnose the problem.

  • C++ - dynamic pointer of array

    - by Eagle
Hi to all, first i would like to say i am Newbie in C++. As part of my master thesis i am writing a program in C++ which also get as parameters the variables m and d (both integers). Were d is the power of 2 (this means 2^d elements). Parameter m define the number of possible interactions between one element and the total group (2^d elements). The number of possible interactions is computed as following: \kappa = \sum_{i=0}^m\binom{d}{i} (at present i generate vector of vectors for 2^d x \kappa, but my Prof. would like me to create different statistics to different m's. My first though was to to generate a dynamic array of m arrays of different sizes... Then i though of defining a 3-dim array with the biggest needed 2d array, but also program speed is important (e.g d = 20). i would like to ask for your advice how to define such kind of dynamic array that will also be fast. Regards
