  • How to display jQuery Dialog on top of YouTube Video/SlideShare PPT?

    We use jQuery modal dialog box to get confirmation from users before they delete an item. The modal dialog works fine as long as there are no YouTube videos on the screen. If there is a YouTube video the dialog box is displayed beneath the video. I tried changing the z-index of dialog to 3999, but no use.   • Is there a Scheduler/Calendar JS Widget library?

    I am looking for some JavaScript based component to be used as a course scheduler which would be a cross between Google Calendar and the login time. I do not know if the right term for this is Course Scheduler but I shall describe this in more detail here. Course Scheduler The widget would be used to enter date and times of a course, as an example if I run a programming course 3 days a week on Mon, Tue and Wed every 7:00 am to 9:00am, 2 hours every day from 1st September to 30th November. I could answer various questions and the course data would be displayed in the calendar. It would also allow for non pattern based timings where each week is different from the other week etc. Question So would I end up creating something from scratch? Would it be sensible to use Google Calendar API for this? I did a Google search for some widgets, but I believe I need better keywords, as I could not find anything close to what I am looking for. Any tips? Commercial libraries would also work for me. Thanks.

  • jquery How to refresh pages when resize happens?

    I have some indicator displays settings which float above a menu. Problem is when someone resizes the 'indicators stays on the same place', the page needs to 'refreshed to position correctly'.     Hi all, I need to make the datepicker show when I click on a link and then send the selected date to a different page through a post call.     Hi, I would like to know how I can improve my development environment. At the moment: I'm using Netbeans as my IDE. My local Dev server runs on a RHEL5 VirtualMachine similar to my production server. My Netbeans project is editing the VM files via ssh (I have mounted the server as a local drive) But: It's slow Files can disapear ( netbeans delete them ? ) I can't use git on it because it's slow. The idea would be to be able to have a shared filesytem between the guest os and the host os.

  • Combinig JQuery datapicker with input field validation /filter

    I am using the JQueryui Datepicker. But it doesn't really affect values entered manually in the input-field. Is there some way I can use the same (client) code to specify mask / validation on the input field (when the datapicker is not used - not just have datepicker output the correct format). What would be the most consistent way to do this in the JQuery framework? Thanks Remarks It seems jQuery put som restraints on input (I.e. I can only enter digits- mask "yymmdd") so the main thing is to get validation.

  • Decoding a jpg in the background in WP7

    I have a bunch of apps in the marketplace, and so far I have been able, by changing my functionality or going the extra mile, to work around the issue of being unable to decode a jpg in the background into a WriteableBitmap. I am finding a situation where I can't think of good ways to "work around" the issue. I need to decode the image I get from MediaLibrary, reduce it's resolution to something managable (800x800), rotate it potentially and save to local storage. By far, the thing that takes the most time (80%) is decoding the bitmap to 800x800 - it takes between 700ms to 1000 ms. A user may add 7-10 images when starting, which translates to ~10 seconds of waiting for the images being added. I tried doing this lazily, but at some point you need to pay the piper and the app essentially stutters for ~1000ms at that point and the experience is not great. Is there an alternative I am missing for loading the image in the background somehow? (Note on why CreateOptions.BackgroundCreation is no good for me: It loads the image into a BitmapImage which is great if you want to just use it, but not so great for what I need to do which is create a copy in Isolated Storage).

  • Fatal Error when using ADODB in VB6 on Windows Server 2003 SP2

    We've got a legacy app (VB6) which works fine on an old Windows Server 2003 box and has been for many years. Recently we've had to move it to a different physical location and in doing this we cloned the box with virtualisation and placed it elsewhere. In theory these two environments should be identical. On the new box however the app falls over when calling the RecordCount method of an ADODB.Recordset. I should say that I can successfully read the ADODB.RecordSet.Properties.Count property with no problem on the line before. The event viewer reports the following: Event Type: Error Event Source: Application Error Event Category: (100) Event ID: 1000 Date: 28/09/2012 Time: 11:15:27 User: N/A Computer: APP01 Description: Faulting application Control.exe, version 1.0.0.6, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.4789, fault address 0x0002c6e4. I can only imagine there is something wrong with using ADODB within a virtualised environment. Any ideas?

    I am using SetCursor to set the system cursor to my own image. The code looks something like this: // member on some class HCURSOR _cursor; // at init time _cursor = LoadCursorFromFile("somefilename.cur"); // in some function SetCursor(_cursor); When I do this the cursor does change, but on the first mouse move message it changes back to the default system arrow cursor. This is the only code in the project that is setting the cursor. What do I need to do to make the cursor stay the way I set it?

  • How to get width of a div in pixels using JQuery (IE)

    Hello there. At first glance it sounds easy... when using JQuery one can use the .width() method to retrieve the width of an element. The problem comes when the DIV element does not have its size in pixels but in words like 'auto' or 'inherit'. When I do this it works nice in Firefox and Chrome even if the size is specified in words: alert($('#id_div').css('width')); // these two sentences does not It returns something like: 96px. But, IE returns the word 'auto'. I need to know the size it has in pixels because I have to do some calculations with that number... so, I've been wondering how to solve this problem.   • GRUB- error: no such partition grub rescue and Error: No default or UI configuration directive found boot > on pendrive

    I have dell inspiron, previously I installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my Windows 7 and made it dual boot. But since I want to upgrade my Ubuntu version and change the partition spacing, I deleted 11.10 partition directly and extended my hardrive space (Windows + Ubuntu) at that moment everything was fine. Then I prepared a 12.04 32bit USB and installed it . It was installed but isn't showing dual boot option like 11.10 and my machine directly boot into Windows 7. So instantly i again deleted my 12.04 partition . Now I login into Windows 7 but whenever I put USB ( with 12.04 ) to boot from it, I am facing error of "no such partition grub rescue" even though I try to put lower version(11.04) it showing another error "Error: No default or UI configuration directive found boot " I have reinstall Windows 7 and reformat all partition, still I am facing same error :(

  • How to select a dynamic datepicker instance in order to extend it with jQuery

    I'm trying to control positioning of a jQuery datepicker element. I like the solution offered at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1818670/how-to-control-positioning-of-jqueryui-datepicker for overriding the _checkOffset fn: $.extend(window.DP_jQuery.datepicker,{_checkOffset:function(inst,offset,isFixed){return offset}}); However, this results in a 'window.DP_jQuery is undefined' error. Upon inspection, I can see that the DP_jQuery object in the DOM gets named with a random string, like so: DP_jQuery_123456. If I use this full name in the above code, it works wonderfully. My question is whether there's a way to exend the _checkOffset fn for a datepicker instance without knowing before-hand what the instance name is? For example, can I use some sort of wildcard to select all datepicker instances that begin with 'DP_jQuery_'? Thanks
