  • An html input box isn't being displayed, Firebug says it has style="display: none" but I haven't don

    I have placed a form on a page which looks like this: <form id="editClassList" name="editClassList" method="get" action="EditClassList"> <label> <input name="class-to-add" id="class-to-add" size="42" type="text"> </label> <label> <input name="save-class-btn" id="save-class-btn" value="Save Class(es)" type="submit"> </label> </form> But when it get's rendered by a browser it comes out like this: <form id="editClassList" name="editClassList" method="get" action="EditClassList"> <label> <input style="display: none;" name="class-to-add" id="class-to-add" size="42" type="text"> </label> <label> <input name="save-class-btn" id="save-class-btn" value="Save Class(es)" type="submit"> </label> </form> For some reason style="display: none;" is being added, and I cann't understand why. This results in the text box not displaying.

  • Signed_request lost in ASP.NET session, confusing my website

    I have an ASP.NET MVC 3 website which is available both from a specific public url, and I'm also making be available as a Facebook App. Inside my website logic, in some places I have to determine whether the current request is from the Facebook-app, or from the public website, because I want to display content based on this environment. So, for eg. if the user is using my site as a facebook-app, then I want to display a picture, and if the user is using my site normally, then I don't wanna display a picture. To determine whether I'm from a Facebook app, I check the "signed_request" in the HttpContext.Request, and store it in the HttpSession to be available for my other actions, not just for that action (url) which is defined for my Facebook app. So when a child-action is executed, I can determine based on the Session, that the website is used as a FB-app or not. The problem happens, when the Session times out, because then althought the logic is still running inside Facebook, my logic thinks it's not inside Facebook. Any advice?

  • 2 Web Servers, 2 Domains, 1 WAN IP configuration

    The Problem: I have 2 domains, 2 web servers, 1 WAN IP. This is on a home network, so I don't have any crazy router or anything with the right tools, at least I don't think I do. I have a Dlink DIR-655 router. I need to be able to forward the website to the right box. 1 server is hosting www.site1.com, and the other should be hosting, www.site2.com. I forwarded the domain, to a port that is forwarded to that box. wanip:1235, 1235 is then forwarded to the internal IP of site2's server. But when I go to www.site2.com I get the 404 page of www.site1.com. I need www.site2.com to go to the right server. Is this something I can do in the virtual hosts of www.site1.com or is it something else. Also, if this isn't entirely possible, or if its a big process, I can just move www.site1.com to the www.site2.com's server, and use virtual hosts, that is an option that I would be okay with.

To view this form my view script is: <?php echo $this->form; ?> This all works just fine, with fully functional dojo form elements (datepicker, timepicker, etc) and successfully saving the data. However, now, I want to format the form that is generated with css. Such as grouping some elements and floating left or right, making some input text fields wider/narrower, etc. How? I realize I can modify the view script but it seems like that defeats the purpose of using Zend_Dojo_Form or Zend_Form. Is that a correct assumption?

  • Is there a Form.Invoke() method?

    Hi, I am new to multithreading (and also to C#) so I hope this is not obvious: In my Form (WinForms application, .NET 2.0) I subscribed to an event that is raised by another object, and on handling this event I wish to change several Controls on my Form. As this event is raised in another thread than the main (UI) thread I want to marshal the call to the Form's thread. I understand I could use the Control.Invoke() method on any Control that I want to change, but as there are several of them I do not wish to do that. When searching the internet I found hints that the Form class itself provides an Invoke() method. See for example: http://marioschneider.blogspot.com/2008/04/invoke-methode-fr-multithread.html (Sorry, as I am I new user I can't seem to post more than one link. I will add more links as comments if possible.) With that, I could just wrap my event handler and then use it as if it was called on the UI thread. However, this doesn't seem to be defined in my environment, and in MSDN's System.Windows.Forms.Form documentation there's also no sign of it. Does this method exist in the .NET-Framework? I find it hard to believe that Form would not supply such a method, as it uses the same message queue the Controls on it do. (Or am I missing something here?)

    This question already has an answer here: Can you help me with my capacity planning? 2 answers I currently have VPS server and I pay around $75 per month and I get: 40GB HD 2Gb RAM 100GB BW 6 core cpu (but i dont use much) I have only one live website running and traffic is only max 100 user visit per day. I mostly do the my testing stuff and some of my inter sites for playing with coding. But I do need one server. I am thinking of moving to Amazon EC2 if the price diff is not so much because then I can learn some more stuff. I am thinking of getting the 3 years Heavy utilization Reserved instance because my server will be running all day and night. I tried their online caluclator with Medium Instance Heavy reserved for 3 years for EC2 it comes $31 per month(effective price) and for EBS and S3 , I think even if thats it $40 for all other stuff. I will be at no loss for what I am getting at present. Am i correct or I missed something?? Now In my current VPS I have Apache for PHP sites and MOD wsgi for python sites. I am not sure if I will be able to do all that stuff in Amazon EC2. Can I host python and PHP sites both in Amazon EC2 instance using Named Virtual Hosts and Ngnix

The problem is in IE8, I cannot delete checked rows from the table; whereas in other browsers such as FireFox3.6, Opera10, Safari4 and Chrome4, this action is all right.     Here's what I've got going on. I have one .jsp file. However, I have two forms with multiple inputs inside those forms. What is the best way to detect that one form was submitted but not the other?     Hello, Im using Django 1.2.3. I have login functionality in my site using django.contrib.auth.views.login. The user is able to login after entering correct username and password. But, form.has_errors is not working i.e. if the login credentials entered are incorrect i dont see the error message.   • Domain name is bringing up wrong site

    I have a VPS that hosts several domains. I have set up Apache in the following manner: First VirtualHost /etc/apache2/sites-available/somedomain.com <VirtualHost somedomain.com:80> ServerName somedomain.com ServerAlias www.somedomain.com ... </VirtualHost> Second VirtualHost /etc/apache2/sites-available/someotherdomain.com <VirtualHost someotherdomain.com:80> ServerName someotherdomain.com ServerAlias www.someotherdomain.com ... </VirtualHost> Then I symlink the config files from sites-available to sites-enabled and all is well. I had a need to 'turn off' someotherdomain.com, so I removed the symlink to /etc/apache2/sites-available/someotherdomain.com from sites-enabled and the site no longer shows up... BUT typing someotherdomain.com into a web browser brings up somedomain.com!!! I need it to not resolve at all. Does somethiing need to be done in the VirtualHost to just automatically return a 500 or something along those lines. I really don't want people to reach one website from a different domain. Thanks!   • Alias wordpress folder from within another website

    I have a little dilemma. I wrote a custom PHP MVC framework and built a CMS on top of it. I decided to give nginx+fpm a whirl too. Which is the root of my dilemma. I was asked to incorporate a wordpress blog into my website (yah.) It has much content and it's not feasible in the short amount of time I have to bring all the content into my CMS. Because of using Apache for years, I'm, admittedly, a little lost using nginx. My website has the file path: /opt/directories/mysite/public/ The wordpress files are located at: /opt/directories/mysite/news/ I know I just need to setup location(s) that targets /news[/*] and then forces all matching URI's to the index.php within. Can someone point me in the right direction perhaps? I'm hoping that the SO community will help me out here :P I've seen a number of examples of Ajax.BeginForm on the internet, and it seems like a very nifty idea. E.g. you have a dropdown where you select a customer - and on selecting one it will load this client's details in some placeholder on the page. This works perfectly fine. But what to do if you want to tie in some validation in the box? Just hypothetically, imagine an article page, and user comments in the bottom. Below the comments area there's an ajax-y "Add comment" box. When a user adds a comment, it will appear in the comments area, below the last comment there. If I set the Ajax.BeginForm to Append the result of the call to the Comments area, it will work fine. But what if the data posted is not valid? Instead of appending a "successful" comment to the comments area I have to show the user validation errors. At this point I decided that the area INSIDE the Ajax.BeginForm will be inside a partial, and the form's submits will return this partial. Validation works fine. On each submit we reload the contents inside the form element. But how to add the successful comment to the top? Other things to consider: The comment form also has a "Preview" button. When the user clicks on Preview, I should load the rendered comment into a preview box. This will probably be inside the form area as well. I was thinking of using Json results instead. When the user submits the form, the server code will generate a Json object with a Success value, and html rendered partials as some properties. Something like { "success": true, "form": "<html form data>", "comment": "successful comment html to inject into the page" } This would be a perfect solution, except there's no way in MVC to render a partial into a string, inside the controller (separation of context, remember?). So.. what should I do then? Any "correct" way to implement this?

    Hi, I'm trying to use the markitup editor on my site and I'm having a problem trying to figure out what I need to do to submit the text area to my server side script. I'm guessing there is something simple that needs to be done but my lack of JS/JQuery knowledge is making it really hard to find a answer The editor works fine, I just want to use my own form and submit button with it, however when I try to submit the form I don't get any of the textarea data in my script. Any idea what I need to do? This is the min that works (before submit) In the Head of my HTML <script type="text/javascript" > <!-- $(document).ready(function() { $("#markItUp").markItUp(mySettings); }); --> </script> And the body: <form id="postpreview" name="newpost" action="/someurl" method="POST" /> <input type="hidden" name="key1" value="val1" /> <input type="hidden" name="key2" value="val2" /> <textarea name="text" id="markItUp"></textarea> <input id="SubmitPost" type="image" value="Continue" name="Doit" class="preview" src="/img/somimage" /> </form> As I said, everything prior to the submit works but once I submit I don't get anything for the form data element "text". I tried doing this in the head: <script type="text/javascript" > <!-- $(document).ready(function() { $("#markItUp").markItUp(mySettings); $("#SubmitPost").click(function(){ data = markItUp.textarea.value; $.post("scripturl",{ key1: "value1", key2: "value2", text: data }); }); }); --> </script> I've also tried: <script type="text/javascript" > <!-- $(document).ready(function() { $("#markItUp").markItUp(mySettings); $("#postpreview").submit(function(){ var data = $("#markItUp").html(); $.post("live",{ func: "posting", text: data }); return false; }); }); --> </script> And I have no luck - the last attempt above just disabled the form (so clicking on the submit or preview buttons did nothing). Any ideas? I guessing its really simple to use my own form but I have no clue how to do it. TIA!
