    Hi, I'm looking for a solution that'll automatically sync file system changes in "/folder1" to "/folder2". Any change should be synced (deleted files, new folders etc.) without any confirmation. Preferably the changes will happen to "/folder2" instantly. "/folder1" is on my hdd "/folder2" is on a server on the LAN (can be accessed via SSH or NFS) I'm on OS X 10.6. I can't seem to find just the right tool. Does anyone

You can access your server immediately via SSH2, using following details: IP-Address: *.*.*.* Login: "login" Password: "password" So, I'm trying to connect to this server in this way: ssh login@*.*.*.* Then I input my password, but it gives an error "permission denied".   • how can I code a recursive query in an Entity Framework model?

    Hi, I have a model which includes NODES, and RELATIONSHIPS (that tie the nodes together, via a parent_node, child_node arrangement). Q1 - Is there any way in EF / Linq-to-entities to perform a query on nodes (e.g. context.Nodes..) to find say "all parents" or "or children" in the graph? Q2 - If there's not in Linq-to-entities, is there any other way to do this other than writing a method that manually goes through and doing it? Q3 - If manual is the only way to do it, should I be concerned about the number of database hits that will be going out to the database as the method keeps recursing through the data? Or more specifically, is there any EF caching type feature that might assist here in ensuring the method is performance from a "number of database hits" point of view? thanks thanks

The only way I can think of to emulate this line is to do the following: add an extra field with identical value to all my data points if, but this seems to be a waste and plus I don't want to show the dots that comes with the line. is there anyway to add an average line to my existing chart?

  • Which ORM to use with SQL Azure?

    Just wondering what everyones thoughts on what ORM to use for SQL Azure? I'm fairly comfortable using LINQ-to-SQL and I believe it is possible to get it working with SQL Azure. However, from my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong), no further improvements will be made to Linq-to-SQL in future releases of the .NET framework? Alternatively, there is the entity framework... and further afield from the Microsoft Camp is NHibernate. Ideally, any additional suggestions made should be free or open source. I have seen Telerik's ORM but this of course, is a commercial product. I can get the definitions/benefits of each ORM myself by doing a Google search, but I was just interested in peoples opinions as to which ORM seems to work best for them (even if it is none of the above).

I could go: foreach (var key in errorKeys) { string msg = ModelState[error].Errors[0].ErrorMessage; errorList.Add(msg); } But thats doing it manually - surely there is a way to do it using LINQ? The .ErrorMessage property is so far down the chain that I don't know how to write the LINQ...

    Hi, I am trying to write a small app to connect and manipulate some data on an SQL 2008 Express database. The database is on my local machine but I can see it on the network. I am trying to use LINQ to SQL in my app. I am trying to connect to the database so I can add database model to use with LINQ but the problem is I can not see any databases inside the SQL Server, which is on my machine. I tried using Windows Auth and also tried SQL Server Auth with no luck. Can someone please assist me? What am I missing?

    I'm working on a album viewer. At the top I want a horizontal container of all the image thumbnails. Right now all the thumbnails are wrapped in a div with float:left. I'm trying to figure out how to keep these thumbnails from wrapping to the next line when there are too many, but rather stay all in one horizontal row and use the scrollbar. I need to transform the data and output it to a Json array (format show at bottom).     Hi, I've managed to save ListView items to a System.Collections.Specialized.StringCollection property settings using this LINQ one liner: My.Settings.Property1.AddRange(ListView1.Items.Cast(Of ListViewItem)().[Select](Function(a) String.Join(Convert.ToChar(Keys.Tab), a.SubItems.Cast(Of System.Windows.Forms.ListViewItem.ListViewSubItem)().[Select](Function(s) s.Text).ToArray())).ToArray()) Now, I want to do the opposite, ie load the ListView1 from the My.Settings.Property1. It's fairly easy to do using a For Each loop, but I wonder if someone can show me a similar LINQ query.     Is there a method call in Linq that will apply a expression tree directly on a List<V>? For instance, if I have a expression tree that is built on Order type, and i have a collection of List<Order> items on which i need to apply this expression. I am looking something similar to: class OrderListStore : IQueryable<V>, <other interfaces required to implement custom linq provider> { List<Order> orders; public Expression Expression { get { return Expression.Constant(this); } } IEnumerator<V> IEnumerable<V>.GetEnumerator() { //Here I need to have a method that will take the existing expression //and directly apply on list something like this .. Expression.Translate(orders); } } Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
