The javascript is hard-coded into the HTML and not referenced by <script src=".."> Is it normal that this retrieved JS code isn't recognized upon call-time? If so, what is my alternative if I need the JS to change every time the div is update? Now

  I have two classes, both of which need to be able to call the same instance of entitymanager class Engine { EntityManager::Entitymanager EManager; } And I need to add an object to a vector contained by this particular instance of Engine. What I want to do is be able to add a bullet spawned by the player to the vector that contains all my entities. class Player : Entity { void SpawnBullet() {Engine::EManager.Add(BULLET);} } The above returns this error: error: object missing in reference to ‘Engine::EManager’ How do I resolve this? Any help or pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated!

  I have a dynamically generated list of links. Each link will request a different page to load. Depending on the link clicked I want it to fill the div with an ajax .load call. The thing is I want all links to reset and fill the same div. I am having trouble doing this without making a seperate div for each link, which isn't what I'm looking for. What I want to do : 1. as soon as User hits [X] button of browser, need to set there status as logged off in database for which we have a method in Login.aspx file which is within the masterpage. 2. I checked the firebug 'net' tab and indeed i get a succesful response from the server of "jsonp1272724228884( {} );" Any ideas?

• Call center workflow scenario with WF 4

  I need to develop a workflow for a call center. A bot will ask some predefined questions to the caller. Based on the answers the workflow will decide the questions to ask and finally redirect the caller to a representative that has required skills. Based on the scenario above, I have several questions. How can I make the workflow "wait" between asking a question to the caller and receiving response from the caller? Do I have to use HandleExternalEvent? If so do I have to define an event for every question? Flowchart workflow seems to be the best solution but I can't imagine how to handle this waiting issue right now. Any help is appreciated.

  Hi, I want to post some data via javascript to another domain. Something like: http://www.othersite.com/submitfunnyname?name=blah The other site (othersite.com) has a REST interface that you can call (well actually this is a get example) to submit a funny name to them. Can I do this already with javascript? I'm a little confused on this - I know if that service wants to return some data, I'd need to use something like JSON-P - even though here I'm submitting some data, I guess the service will return some message structure letting me know the result, so it would have to be JSON-P, right?   Hi, I've little problem : I'm solving problem with calling function by pointer and passing to it parameters in continuous memory block. My goal is to have function named e.g CallFunc(void * func,void *params, unsigned int param_length); that I'll send function pointer, pointer to function's parameters and eventually parameters length and this calling function will call passed function with it's parameters. I will like write this in C/C++, but if somebody has idea, how this resolve in other language, that supports DLL generation and exportet functions, it will be fine too.   I'm not the most disciplined dev, dont know standards and am self-taught so bear with me. I create stuff very logically and fast but not always using 'programming standards'. I have a mobile app using geolocation API. it gets thousands of places from my db and makes gmaps v3 markers for the ones around the user's current location. there is an ajax call from my JS to an aspx page that calls the database, makes a json string, and sends the json string to the javascript that then creates the google map markers. would i save time if the json string was in a flat file? im not sure if, generally speaking, accessing a sql db from an aspx page is faster than c# file i/o on a flat file with pre-rendered JSON. (of course, using the flat file, it would update everytime the db is updated)

  I need to develop an application where a Java client calls a Java application located on the server with certain parameters, the Java application on the server computes data and sends the data back to the client. Everything needs to go through port 80 on which I have a IIS webserver listening. I cannot open any other port on the server. Is there any way I can do this? The server can write files in a directory that the client can read but I am not sure how to handle the synchronization and I don't know how to call a script on the server from the client through port 80. Every suggestion would be highly appreciated Thanks a lot in advance, this problem is making me crazy

However, the res.view() doesn't work. Likewise for Child2, with a peer of type Child2. The problem is, on the assignment of the peer property in the parent class. I can't construct a new Child class by calling new Child1() because then it wouldn't work for Child2. How can I do this? Is there a keyword that I can use that would refer to the child class? Something like new self()?

  I am trying to add a new member to our DFS topology. We have 3 DCs (VMs - VMware) running Windows server 2012, two servers are located in or Primary site and the third at our DR site. Currently the two servers at our primary site are currently replicating DFS (full mesh) and are working fine. I have tried several times to add the third DC to our DFS topology, every time i configure the replication path e.g E:\MSI and click ok the MMC snap in crashes.   I am starting one POS (Point of sale) project. Targeting system is going to be written in C# .NET 2 WinForms and as main database server We are going to use MS-SQL Server. As we have a lot of POS devices in chain for one store I will love to have backend local data base system on each POS device. Scenario are following: When main server goes down!! POS application should continue working "off-line" with local database, until connection to main server come up again. Now I am in dilemma which local database is going to be most adoptable for me. Here is some notes for helping me point me in right direction: To be Light "My POS devices art usually old and suffering with performances" To be Free "I have a lot of devices and I do not wont additional cost beside main SQL serer" One day Ill love to try all that port on Mono and Linux OS. Here is what I've researched so far: Simple XML "Light but I am afraid of performance, My main table of items is average of 10K records" SQL-Expres "I am afraid that my POS devices is poor with hardware for SQLExpres, and also hard to install on each device and configure" Less known Advantage Database Server have free distribution of offline ADT system. • Reading system.net/mailSettings/smtp from Web.config in Medium trust environment

  Hi, I have some inherited code which stores SMTP server, username, password in the system.net/mailSettings/smtp section of the Web.config. It used to read them like so: Configuration c = WebConfigurationManager.OpenWebConfiguration(HttpContext.Current.Request.ApplicationPath); MailSettingsSectionGroup settings = (MailSettingsSectionGroup)c.GetSectionGroup("system.net/mailSettings"); return settings.Smtp.Network.Host; But this was failing when I had to deploy to a medium trust environment. So following the answer from this question, I rewrote it to use GetSection() like so: SmtpSection settings = (SmtpSection)ConfigurationManager.GetSection("system.net/mailSettings/smtp"); return settings.Network.Host; But it's still giving me a SecurityException on Medium trust, with the following message: Request for ConfigurationPermission failed while attempting to access configuration section 'system.net/mailSettings/smtp'. To allow all callers to access the data for this section, set section attribute 'requirePermission' equal 'false' in the configuration file where this section is declared. So I tried this requirePermission attribute, but can't figure out where to put it. If I apply it to the <smtp> node, I get a ConfigurationError: "Unrecognized attribute 'requirePermission'. Note that attribute names are case-sensitive." If I apply it to the <mailSettings> node, I still get the SecurityException. Is there any way to get at this config section programatically under medium trust? Or should I just give up on it and move the setting into <appSettings>?

• Licensing iPhone apps per user in existing system

  I've been asked by my job to write a iPhone app for an existing system for managing worktasks. This system is proprietary and costs money, so in order to login you need to be a customer. Now, I've got two questions about the legality of licensing iPhone apps with this system: My company would like to be able to sell the app for profit, but not as a one-time payment, but as a added subscription-fee to the already existing one. Is it legal for us (according with the terms of distributing an iPhone app on the Apple App Store) to do this? That way we'll just add another field to the users-database saying weather or not iPhone is enabled for them, and distribute the app as a free app on App Store. If the previous question is not legal, we'd like to just create a free app and distribute it as part of the existing system. In other words, no extra fee for using the iPhone app for the users, but still free distribution trough App Store. Due to our company not being american or having an office in the U.S. at all enterprice account is not an option. Please let me know if there is anything wrong with any of the above approaches.

• What can i use to journal writes to file system

  Hello, all I need to track all writes to files in order to have synchronized version of files on different place (server or just other directory, not considerable). Let it: all files located in same directory feel free to create some system files (e.g. SomeFileName.Ext~temp-data) no one have concurrent access to synced directory; nobody spoil ours meta-files or change real-files before we do postponed writes (like a commits) do not to care recovering "local" changes in case of crash; system can just rolled back to state of "server" by simple copy from it significant to have it transparent to use (so programmer must just call ordinary fopen(), read(), write()) It must be guaranteed that copy of files which "server" have is consistent. That is whole files scope existed in some moment of time. They may be sufficiently outdated but it must be fair snapshot of all files at some time. As i understand i should overload writing logic to collect data in order sent changes to "server". For example writing to temporary File~tmp. And so i have to overload reads in order program could read actual data of file. It would be great if you suggest some existing library (java or c++, it is unimportant) or solution (VCS customizing?). Or give hints how should i write it by myself. edit: After some reading i have more precision requirements: I need COW (Copy-on-write) wrapper for fopen(),fwrite(),.. or interceptor (hook) WriteFile() and other FS api system calls. Log-structured file system in userspace would be a alternative too.
