However, when I replace MyDynamicString in the Where clause with the full left(left(etc.. function, it works as expected. Can I not reference this string later in the query? Do I have to build it using the left(left(etc.. function each time in the where clause?

    I have a VB6 app. I am trying to figure out what command line parameters got passed into the application. If I type in ? Command$ into the Immediate window, it prints out the command line params fine. Same, if I place Command$ into the Watch window. However, if I assign the Command$ function to a string: Dim s as string s = Command$ the s variable will be empty. What am I missing here? I should mention that the code in question is located not in the main form, but in a DLL 2 levels down (e.g. the form calls DLL1, then DLL1 calls DLL2).

    Hi, I'm performing a little database optimisation at the moment and would like to set the column lengths in my table through JPA. So far I have no problem setting the String (varchar) lengths using JPA as follows: @Column(unique=true, nullable=false, length=99) public String getEmail() { return email; } However, when I want to do the same for a column which is of type Long (bigint), it doesn't work. For example, if I write: @Id @Column(length=7) @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) public Long getId() { return id; } The column size is still set as the default of 20. Are we able to set these lengths in JPA or am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks, Gearoid.

I started with what I think is the obvious: $('#main-menu li a').on('click', function(event) { event.preventDefault(); var pageUrl = $(this).attr('href'); )}; and have tried find and animate but then I don't know how to reference the article with data-url="http://example.com/about.html".   • Cursor while loop returning every value but the last

    Hello, I am using a while loop to iterate through a cursor and then outputing the longitude and latitude values of every point within the database. For some reason it is not returning the last (or first depending on if I use Cursor.MoveToLast) set of longitude and latitude values in the cursor.     I'm working on a php web api that was handed to me with a lot of code that needs to be refactored. The ones that wrote the code wanted to include a static configuration class to an api resource and then get an instance of that class something like this: <?php $obj = "User"; $confObjectSuffix = "_conf"; $confObject = $obj.$confObjectSuffix; if ($confObject::inst()->checkMethod($method)) { ..... This gives the error "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in ....." since $confObject is a string and not a object. I don't want to rewrite more than necessary.

    I have a DataGridView, without visible row or column headers, and bound to a BindingList. No matter what I try the top left cell (Rows[0].Cells[0]) is always empty. The cell's Visible property is true, but it never displays its contents. If I make some rows and columns invisible, it's still the top left of the visible cells that isn't displayed.

    hello. I'm working on program which dynamically(in runtime) loads dlls. For an example: Microsoft.AnalysisServices.dll. In this dll we have this enum: namespace Microsoft.AnalysisServices { [Flags] public enum UpdateOptions { Default = 0, ExpandFull = 1, AlterDependents = 2, } } and we also have this class Cube: namespace Microsoft.AnalysisServices { public sealed class Cube : ... { public Cube(string name); public Cube(string name, string id); .. .. .. } } I dynamically load this dll and create object Cube. Than i call a method Cube.Update(). This method deploy Cube to SQL Analysis server. But if i want to call this method with parameters Cube.Update(UpdateOptions.ExpandFull) i get error, because method doesn't get appropriate parameter. I have already tried this, but doesn't work: dynamic updateOptions = AssemblyLoader.LoadStaticAssembly("Microsoft.AnalysisServices", "Microsoft.AnalysisServices.UpdateOptions");//my class for loading assembly Array s = Enum.GetNames(updateOptions); dynamic myEnumValue = s.GetValue(1);//1 = ExpandFull dynamicCube.Update(myEnumValue);// == Cube.Update(UpdateOptions.ExpandFull) I know that error is in parameter myEnumValue but i don't know how to get dynamically enum type from assembly and pass it to the method.     Hi, This might be an easy one, but I'm not really experienced with sql. I have a table with two user_id columns, user1 and user2. This table contains some compared values between the two users. I want to send in an user id, and return all the id's from the other user when the sent user is either user1 or user2. I guess some sort of if test would do the trick, but I don't know how to do this in SQL. Cheers

    I need to generate a random alpha/numeric to give to users that they come to the site to enter. I dont' know much about random numbers and such, I know there are seeding issues and such, but I'm not sure what they are. So, I used this: select substrING(md5(concat_ws('-',md5(username_usr), MD5(zip_usr), MD5(id_usr), MD5(created_usr))),-12) from users_usr Is this safe? I used concat_ws because sometimes zip is null, but the others never are. And yes, I know this is kinda short, but 1. They have to enter the last 4 of their social, 2. It's 1 time use, 3. There's no private data displayed back in the application and 4. I may use captcha, but since there's no private data, thats probably overkill. THanks
