• How do I programatically add an article page to a sharepoint site?

  I've been given the task of content migration from another CMS system to SharePoint 2010. The data in the old system is fairly easy to capture and the page hierarchy is simple so I'm not worried about that. However, I am completely flummoxed about how to even create a page in code. I'm using the Microsoft.SharePoint.Client namespace as I do not have sharepoint installed on my system and am wanting to code this up as a console application and so I'm using I'm using ClientContext. (On the other hand, I am willing to go into other solutions if necessary). My end-game: To get a page uploaded into some folder hierarchy which uses a master page, has the page title in a header web part, and a big ol' content-editable web part in the body so any user can come along and edit the content. Things I've tried so far: Using FileCollection.Add() to add an aspx file to the folder "Site Pages". This renders the html in the browser but doesn't enable any features for the user to edit the page Using ListItemCollection.Add() to add a page to the site, but I didn't know what fields I needed. Also I remember it came up with a runtime error saying I should use FileCollection.Add() Uploading to 'Site Pages' instead of 'Pages' So many others... ow my head :( The only plausible thing I can see on the net is to use the PublishingPage type along with PublishingWeb. However, PublishingWeb can only be constructed from an SPWeb object which requires me to be actually hosting the sharepoint application on my workstation. If anyone can lend a hand that would be greatly appreciated :)

• asp.net ajax toolkit combobox doesn't work in hidden div

  I have a combobox inside a hidden div which I use css display = none to make it invisible, but when I make the div visible by setting display = block, the combobox just show the input and its button and ul list all have css as display = 'none', visibility ='hidden'. I can tell it is done by combobox inbuild javascript because I tried to use javascript to set the css manually with no luck. It is a bug of combobox. Urgent help needed. I spent a week to solve this, and our team put a lot trust on the toolkit. Please help me on this, all javascript gurus, thanks. Below is the code to reproduce the bug.   Hi there, yet another question for recommendations for a book on Silverlight. I look for a book that covers the UI and styling and, if possible, custom drawing and graphics. Very important for me is the style of the book - it should focus on the actual programming and not on where to click in Visual Studio to get things done. Let's take a fictional example for proper usage of the DataGrid control: Bad: To use the data grid, drag it from the toolbox onto the control. You can change the background color by clicking on “Background” in the properties. To define custom columns, click on columns and edit them in the configuration window that opens. Good: To use the DataGrid, you need a reference to the blah dll and declare the namespace in the XAML like this (blah), the data model should be like blah and if you want to define how the columns look like, you need to define them like this (more blah). And if you want to do this in C# because you for whatever reason aren’t able or willing to use XAML, this would look like blah. Bonus points for coverage of topics like how to manage resources (images/fonts) and internationalization. There are quite some snippets on how to do that on the internet but somehow each of them looks like they work but are not a proper way of doing it. cheers Mathias

  I have a number of enums and need to get them as List<string> objects in order to enumerate through them and hence made the GetEnumAsStrings<T>() method. But it seems to me there would be an easier way. • Access reading error when using class member variable

  Hi, I have a class with private member variables declared in a header file. In my constructor, I pass in some filenames and create other objects using those names. This works fine. When I try to add another member variable, however, and initialize it in the constructor, I get an access reading violation. I sent the code to someone else and it works fine on his computer. Any idea what could be wrong? If I type it in it doesn't work and if I look in the function wizard, my addin doesn't show up as a category and the functions are not in the list. I am using excel 2003 on windows 7 x86. I built the project with visual studio 2010. This addin worked fine on windows xp built with visual studio 2008.

• Routing trouble for RESTful API - Rails

  I'm building out an API for web app that I've been working on for some time. I've started with the User model. The user portion of the API will allow remote clients to a) retrieve user data, b) update user information and c) create new users. I've gotten all of this to work, but it doesn't seem like its setup correctly. Here are my questions: Should the API endpoint be users or user? What's the best practice? I have to add the action to the end, which I would expect to be picked up instead by the request type so I don't have to specify it explicitly. How do I get my routes setup properly as not to have to include the method for protected actions? Let me give some examples: Get request for show - want it to work without the "show" curl -u rmbruno:blah http://app.local/api/users/show Put request for update - want it to work without the "update" curl -X put -F 'user[forum_notifications]=true' -u rmbruno:blah http://app.local/api/users/update Create - works with or without 'create' which is what I want for all these actions curl -X post -F 'user[login]=mamafatta' -F 'user[email][email protected]' -F 'user[password]=12345678' http://twye.local/api/users/ How do I structure routes to not require the action name? Isn't that the common way to to RESTful APIs? Here is my route for the API now: map.namespace :api do |route| route.resources :users route.resources :weight end I'm using restful authentication which is handling the http auth in curl.   I'm writing a cross-platform server program in C++ using Boost.Asio. Following the HTTP Server example on this page, I'd like to handle a user termination request without using implementation-specific APIs. I've initially attempted to use the standard C signal library, but have been unable to find a design pattern suitable for Asio. The Windows example's design seems to resemble the signal library closest, but there's a race condition where the console ctrl handler could be called after the server object has been destroyed. I'm trying to avoid race conditions that cause undefined behavior as specified by the C++ standard. Is there a standard (correct) way to stop the server? • Dynamic memory inside a struct

  Hello, I'm editing a piece of code, that is part of a big project, that uses "const's" to initialize a bunch of arrays. Because I want to parametrize these const's I have to adapt the code to use "malloc" in order to allocate the memory. Unfortunately there is a problem with structs: I'm not able to allocate dynamic memory in the struct itself. Doing it outside would cause to much modification of the original code. • Finding the left-most and right-most points of a list. std::find_if the right way to go?

  Hi, I have a list of Point objects, (each one with x,y properties) and would like to find the left-most and right-most points. I've been trying to do it with find_if, but i'm not sure its the way to go, because i can't seem to pass a comparator instance. Is find_if the way to go? Seems not. So, is there an algorithm in <algorithm> to achieve this? • How to get a number closest to the average in c++?

  What I'm trying to achieve is to take the average of the numbers stored in the array and find the number which is closest to it. My code compiles, but has an error just after starting. I think it's something to do with the memory handling (I don't feel confident with pointers, etc. yet) Could some nice guy take a look at my code and tell me what's wrong with it?   I am using NHunspell for checking spelling.I added NHunspell.dll as a reference to my asp.net page.I added the namespace System.NHunspell. The problem i am facing is related to IDisposible. • After drawing circles on C# form how can i know on what circle i clicked?

  I have to represent graphically an oriented graph like in the image below. i have a C# form, when i click with the mouse on it i have to draw a node. If i click somewhere on the form where is not already a node drawn it means i cliked with the intetion of drawing a node, if it is a node there i must select it and memorize it. • Deserializing JSON in WCF throws xml errors in .Net 4.0

  Hi there. I'm going slidely mad over here, maybe someone else can figure out what's going on here. I have a WCF service exposing a function using webinvoke, like so: [OperationContract] [WebInvoke(Method = "POST", BodyStyle = WebMessageBodyStyle.Wrapped, RequestFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json, ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json, UriTemplate = "registertokenpost" )] void RegisterDeviceTokenForYoumiePost(test token); The datacontract for the test class looks like this: [DataContract(Namespace="Zooma.Test", Name="test", IsReference=true)] public class test { string waarde; [DataMember(Name="waarde", Order=0)] public string Waarde { get { return waarde; } set { waarde = value; } } } When sending the following json message to the service, { "test": { "waarde": "bla" } } the trace log gives me errors (below). I have tried this with just a string instead of the datatype (void RegisterDeviceTokenForYoumiePost(string token); ) but i get the same error. All help is appreciated, can't figure it out. It looks like it's creating invalid xml from the json message, but i'm not doing any custom serialization here. The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: Error in deserializing body of request message for operation 'RegisterDeviceTokenForYoumiePost'.
