  • Setting of IIS memory settings for ASP.NET

    We are running an ASP.NET app on a web server with 4GB+ of memory in IIS 6. After reading many articles, it states that we need to set the "maximum memory used" for the Application Pool to 800mb to eliminate the "out of memory exceptions" that are happening for us. However, what should the "maximum virtual memory" in the Application Pool be set to? I can't find information as to what that should be set to.

    I have a databound Listbox bound to a generic list as follows (Provider is a very simple class that just includes a single property (Name). ProviderList = new List<Provider>(); //Populate list Providers.ItemsSource = ProviderList; I can save the selected item with no problem but I can't manage to set the selected item from code afterwards. I am trying to do so as follows: int x = Providers.Items.IndexOf((Provider)_Settings["provider"]); However IndexOf() is always returning -1. If I inspect both Providers.Items[1] and _Setting["provider"] at runtime using the immediate window they both return {StoreRetrieveData.Provider} Name: "Greenflag" Am I doing something wrong (well clearly I am)?

  • OpenCV: Getting and Setting Camera Settings

    I have been searching around and can't find an example of how to get and set the camera capturing settings. For example the capturing resolution, fps, color balance, etc. I have only seen examples of how to change the settings when saving the captured video but I want to be able to find all the camera's capturing modes and choose which one I want. For example, I am using the PS3eye webcam and in the test program it allows you to change the settings (320x240 at 15,30,60,120 fps, 640x480 at 15,30,60,75 fps). So is there a function in OpenCV for getting all the camera's capture modes and choosing one? I remember in OpenFrameworks there was a function to change these settings but I would like to know how to do it in OpenCV.     Is it possible to set a password textbox text to text that the user could not reproduce on their end? Like are there special characters that can only be set from the server? For instance, one way to do this would be to use javascript to prevent typing of *'s, and to set the textbox text to be all *'s. But that's hacky. The motivation is to be able to tell on the server if the user changed the password at all, but not to restrict them from having a password of all *'s, for instance.

  • Removing dotted border without setting NoFocus in Windows PyQt

    There are a few questions on SO about this, all of which seem to say that the only way to remove the dotted border is to set the focusPolicy on widget/item in question to NoFocus. While this works as a temporary fix, this prevents further interaction with said widget/item in the realm of other necessary focusEvents. Said border in question: Here's an example of why this doesn't work. I have a Non-Modal widget popup, think a lightbox for an image. I want to detect a mousePressEvent outside of the widget and close the widget as a result. To do this, I should catch the focusOutEvent. However, if a vast majority of widgets in my program are set as NoFocus (to remove the border issue), then I cannot catch the focusOutEvent because, you guessed it, they have no focus policy. Here's another example: I have a QTreeWidget that is subclassed so I can catch keyPressEvents for various reasons. The QTreeWidget is also set as NoFocus to prevent the border. Because of this, however, the widget never has focus and therefore no keyPressEvents can be caught. A workaround for this (kludgy, imo) is to use the widget's grabKeyboard class, which is dangerous if I forget to releaseKeyboard later. This is not optimal. So then the question is, is there a way to remove this weird (mostly just ugly) dotted border without turning off focus for everything in my app? Thanks in advance!

    What is the main difference between these following two ways to give a method some fake implementation? I was using the second way fine in one test but in another test the behaviour can not be achieved unless I go with the first way. These are set up via: IMembershipService service = test.Stub<IMembershipService>(); so (the first), using (test.Record()) //test is MockRepository instance { service.GetUser("dummyName"); LastCall.Return(new LoginUser()); } vs (the second). service.Stub(r => r.GetUser("dummyName")).Return(new LoginUser()); Edit The problem is that the second technique returns null in the test, when I expect it to return a new LoginUser. The first technique behaves as expected by returning a new LoginUser. All other test code used in both cases is identical.

    Here's a function to calculate the digital sum of a number in J: digitalSum =: +/@:("."0)@": If I use b. to query the rank of this verb, I get _ 1 _, i.e., infinite. (We can ignore the dyadic case since digitalSum is not dyadic.) I would like the monadic rank of this verb to be 0, as reported by b.. The only way I know of to do this is to use a "shim", e.g., ds =: +/@:("."0)@": digitalSum =: ds"0 This works great, but I want to know whether it's the only way to do this, or if there's something else I'm missing.

    I have an MSVC Makefile Project in which I need to set an environment variable before running NMAKE. For x64 builds I needs to set it to one value, and for x86 builds I need to set it to something else. So for example, when doing a build I would want to SET PLATFORM=win64 if I'm building a 64-bit compile, or SET PLATFORM=win32 if I'm building 32-bit. There does not appear to be an option to set environment variables or add a pre-build even for makefile projects. How do I do this? EDIT: Running MSVC 2008

Such data include database file settings (database.yml) and some other files that have secret API keys. When I deploy to heroku, how can I deal with files that are not under revision control. When I use Capistrano, I can write some hook methods, but I don't know what to do with Heroku.

    I'm trying to create a Django model that handles the following: An Item can have several Names. One of the Names for an Item is its primary Name, i.e. the Name displayed given an Item. (The model names were changed to protect the innocent.) The models.py I've got looks like: class Item(models.Model): primaryName = models.OneToOneField("Name", verbose_name="Primary Name", related_name="_unused") def __unicode__(self): return self.primaryName.name class Name(models.Model): item = models.ForeignKey(Item) name = models.CharField(max_length=32, unique=True) def __unicode__(self): return self.name class Meta: ordering = [ 'name' ] The admin.py looks like: class NameInline(admin.TabularInline): model = Name class ItemAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): inlines = [ NameInline ] admin.site.register(Item, ItemAdmin) It looks like the database schema is working fine, but I'm having trouble with the admin, so I'm not sure of anything at this point. My main questions are: How do I explain to the admin that primaryName needs to be one of the Names of the item being edited? Is there a way to automatically set primaryName to the first Name found, if primaryName is not set, since I'm using inline admin for the names?

  • Setting Up TFS Server outside of a domain

    Hi Im trying to set up TFS 2010 on a machine that is connected to a network, but not on the domain. I am trying to connect this to a SQL Server that is also connected to the network and also not on the domain. When I run through the TFS configuration Wizard and try to connect to the SQL Server, it fails with a message "A connection can not be made...." which looks like it cant see the Server. However when i connect through SQL Management Studio it works when i use SQL Authentication (not Windows Auth). I beleive its failing because TFS needs to connect using Windows Authetication (please correct me if im wrong). I can not add the Windows Authentication for my TFS machine onto the SQL machine becuase they are on different domains (again, pleas correct me if I'm wrong). Does anyone have any suggestions?     I'm uisng a RichTextArea to display my html content in SL 4,I want to underline the content displayed by the control ( without modifying the html) and also attach an event of Onclick on the text . I tried different options i.e using RichTextArea in the content template of a Hyperlinkbutton but as the content of RichTextArea cannot be set directly, this was ruled out. Any suggestions ?

    I usually set the layout like this where I specify the gap inside the VerticalLayout tag <s:Group> <s:layout> <s:VerticalLayout gap="10"/> </s:layout> </s:Group> I'm trying to specify the layout as a property of the Group like this <s:Group layout="{new VerticalLayout()}"> </s:Group> but not sure how to specify the gap in this case. Couldn't spot something in the documentation to show if it's possible to include gap as a parameter when creating new VerticalLayout or what its position would be.

I have to output very precise results, near the precision of the double variable, and I'm using the iomanip setprecision(int) for that. The problem is that I have to put the setprecision everywhere in the output, like that: func1() { cout<<setprecision(12)<<value; cout<<setprecision(10)<<value2; } func2() { cout<<setprecision(17)<<value4; cout<<setprecision(3)<<value42; } And that is very cumbersome. Is there a way to set more generally the cout fixed modifier? Thanks
