  • mocking command object in grails controller results in hasErrors() return false no matter what! Plea

    I have a controller that uses a command object in a controller action. When mocking this command object in a grails' controller unit test, the hasErrors() method always returns false, even when I am purposefully violating its constraints. def save = { RegistrationForm form -> if(form.hasErrors()) { // code block never gets executed } else { // code block always gets executed } } In the test itself, I do this: mockCommandObject(RegistrationForm) def form = new RegistrationForm(emailAddress: "ken.bad@gmail", password: "secret", confirmPassword: "wrong") controller.save(form) I am purposefully giving it a bad email address, and I am making sure the password and the confirmPassword properties are different. In this case, hasErrors() should return true... but it doesn't.     I have this code block here and i need to make sure the rankedPlayersWaitingForMatch is synchronized between threads properly. I was going to use synchronize but that i don't think will work here because of the variable being used in the if statement. I read online about final Lock lock = new ReentrantLock(); but I am a bit confused on how to use it in this case properly with the try/finally block. Can I get a quick example?   • Java: file write on finalize method

    In my understanding a singleton object will destroy only when the application is about to terminate. So in C++ I write a Singleton class to log my application and in that Singleton logger's destructor I log the time when my application was terminated. Things worked perfectly in C++. Now I want to have that same logger in Java, as in java there is no destructor so I implemented the finalize method for that singleton logger. But it seem that finalize method actually never get called. So, I add that System.runFinalizersOnExit(true); line, somewhere in my code (though I know it is deprecated) and that finalize method get called every time before termination of the app. But still there is a problem! If I try to write anything on file in that finalize method, It does not work, though System.out work without any problem! :( Can you guys help me on this problem?   • Return type value if RunTimeException has been thrown and not catched.

    I am using Gson to parse Json. What I don't understand what the return type will be if you don't catch the Runtime Exception. I was expecting it to be null, but it is not null when evaluating with a simple if statement. My code looks something like this: public X x() { return gson.fromJson(jsonString, X.class); } then from another function I call the function: public void y() { final X x = x(); if (x == null) { System.out.println("x == null") } } I was expecting x to be null, but it isn't because the print statement is not called? What is the value of x? How can if them. I have my problem by using a catch block in the x() function and returning null. But I am just wondering what the value of function x() is(if any?)? Hopefully I make any sense at all.

    I have an Symfony2 edit form for an entity and one of the fields is for the user's profile picture. I'm trying to theme the Twig file upload widget so that the current picture set for the field is displayed above the file input. My question is how can I get hold of the path to the file? Is there a way to pick it out of the form values for the field? Could I perhaps pass it through as an option to the field? Srz if this is a dumb question, still pretty new to Symfony and Twig..

    I am facing a situation that drives me nuts. I am setting up an update server which uses a json file. Don't ask why or how, it sucks and is my only possibility to achieve it. I have been trying and researching for HOURS (many) because I went ballistic and wanted to crack this on my own. But I have to realize I got stuck and need help. So sorry for this chunk but I think it is somewhat important to see... The file is a one liner and repeating the following sequence with changing values (of course). "plugin_name_foo_bar": {"buildDate": "bla", "dependencies": [{"name": "bla", "optional": true, "version": "1.00"}], "developers": [{"developerId": "bla", "email": "[email protected]", "name": "Bla bla2nd"}], "excerpt": "some text {excerpt} !bla.png|thumbnail,border=1! ", "gav": "bla", "labels": ["report", "scm-related"], "name": "plugin_name_foo_bar", "previousTimestamp": "bla", "previousVersion": "1.0", "releaseTimestamp": "bla", "requiredCore": "1", "scm": "github.com", "sha1": "ynnBM2jWo25ZLDdP3ybBOnV/Pio=", "title": "bla", "url": "http://bla.org", "version": "1.0", "wiki": "https://bla.org"}, "Exclusion": {"buildDate": "bla", "dependencies": [], and the next plugin block is glued straight afterwards. What I now want to do is to search for "plugin_foo_bar": {" as this is the unique identifier for a new plugin description block. I want to replace the first sha1 value occuring afterwards. That's where I keep failing. I always grab the first,last or any occurrence in the entire file and not the block :( "title" is the unique identifier after the sha1 value. So I tried to make the .* less greedy but it ain't working out. last attempt was heading towards: sed -i 's/("name": "plugin_name_foo_bar.*sha1": ")([a-zA-Z0-9!@#\$%^&*()\[\]]*)(", "title"\)/\1blablabla\2/1' default.json to find the sha1 value of that plugin but still no joy. I hope someone knows - preferably a simpler approach - before I now continue with trial and error until I have to puke and freakout. I am working with SED on Windows, so Unix approach might help me to figure out how to achieve this in batch but please make it as one-liner if possible. Scripts are a real pain to convert. And I just need SED and no other solution with other tools like AWK. That is absolutely out of discussion. Any help is appreciated :) Cheers Jan

    Hello, I am trying to develope an application that offers a service via bluetooth. Everything works fine in the emulator but as soon I install it on a real device (6120/X6 Nokia) the service cannot be found. If I search for already registered services such as OBEX they are found. So I think it has something to do with the registration.   • Displaying User Relationships Module Blocks

    I'm unable to display any of the User Relationships' auto-created blocks in any of my sidebars. I have tried enabling all modules and permissions I can think of, with no success. The block I'm most interested in is the block that would allow users to be invited to an existing relationship (e.g. Friend), but as I say this nor any of the other blocks display. Other Drupal blocks and custom blocks display just fine. The blocks do show up in the blocks listing, and I've tried different ways of configuring them. Any help, or even confirmation that someone has been able to do this with the latest stable versions of Drupal and the User Relationships module, would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Howdy all, I'm running into a problem with some InfoPath C# code while trying to remove an attachment from a form. Basically the process is: User opens form User clicks button File attachment is cleared I've tried adding a blank attachment to my schema that never becomes populated, then setting the original field's value equal to that value by the method below. When debugging the form I catch an error: Schema validation found non-data type errors.     The following bits of code do not seem to be searching the entire routine definition. Code block 1: select top 50 * from information_schema.routines where routine_definition like '%09/01/2008%' and specific_Name like '%NET' Code Block 2: SELECT ROUTINE_NAME, ROUTINE_DEFINITION FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.ROUTINES WHERE ROUTINE_DEFINITION LIKE '%EffectiveDate%' AND ROUTINE_TYPE='PROCEDURE' and ROUTINE_NAME like '%NET' I know for a fact that these bits of SQL work under most circumstances. The problem is this: When I run this for "EffectiveDate" which is buried at line ~800 in a few stored procedures, these stored procedures never show up in the results. It's as if "like" only searches so deep. Any tips on fixing this? I want to search the ENTIRE stored procedure for the specified text. Thanks!

    I have a particular type of exception that I would like Visual Studio to not catch with the Exception Assistant. Essentially I would like it just to let my normal exception handling infrastructure deal with it. The exception is an inheritor of System.Exception which I wrote and have the source code for. Any where this is thrown I want VS to not catch it, ie it is not useful to just supress a single throw new BlahException(); in code. This is because the exception is thrown a lot, and I don't want to have to supress every single instance individually. In case it makes a difference I am on Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate, Framework 3.5 SP1.

    I have postgresql table that has somekind of unique constraint. I have ruby script that will update this table. The ruby script should be able to switch to UPDATE instead of INSERT when this kind of error occured: PGError: ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint CMIIW, sequel seems cannot catch this exception??
