• How to open new subwindow from another subwindow in vaadin?

  Hi, I want to open one subwindow from another subwindow.That is, i m having one popup subwindow in that window i placed one button.If we click that button another popup subwindow should open. When i am trying this i m getting error that "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: You can only add windows inside application-level windows." Can anyone tell me how to solve this in vaadin.

  Hi, I was wondering if some of you know about a library in php so that I can pass a date and a cron expression and it tells me wether the date satisfies the cron expression or not.   I have worked with random functions in python,ruby, MATLAB, Bash and Java. Nearly every programming language has a function to generate Random numbers. However, these apparently random sequences are termed as pseudo-random number sequences as the generation follows a deterministic approach, and the sequence seems to repeat (usually with a very large period). My question, can an algorithmic/programming process ever yield true random numbers ? The questions probably is more of theoretical computer science than just programming !

  With a scripting language like python (or php), things are not compiled down to bytecode like in .net or java. So does this mean that on every request, it has to go through the entire application and parse/compile it? Or at least all the code required for the given call stack?

  I wrote a program in java that rolls a die and records the total number of times each value 1-6 is rolled. I rolled 6 Million times. Here's the distribution: #of 0's: 0 #of 1's: 1000068 #of 2's: 999375 #of 3's: 999525 #of 4's: 1001486 #of 5's: 1000059 #of 6's: 999487 (0 wasn't an option.) Is this distribution consistant with random dice rolls? What objective statistical tests might confirm that the dice rolls are indeed random enough?

  I have been programming for about 10 years: 7 years C++, 3 years MFC, 2 JSP/Servlets, and the last year .NET (since there was some overlap the total won't add up).
