• TeamCity Multi-Part Build - How to checkout the code just once

- by Jeff D
I am trying to create 1 package with multiple build configurations. The first will checkout the code, build it (Solution File configuration), and run nunit tests. If that succeeds, another will then build in release mode. If that succeeds, a final script witll package up the output, and mark it as an artifact. The problem I'm having is that I don't know how to tell TeamCity not to create new directories for each step, and as a result, the steps are failing. Is there a setting for this? It seems like the dependencies tab would be an appropriate place to look, but I don't seem to understand the instructions, and my tinkering so far has been fruitless.

• mysql query using global variables

- by Carlos
I am trying run a query to active the users account. I am not sure if I am having problem with the query itself or if there's something else that I dont know about. here is the code: if($_SESSION['lastid']&&$_SESSION['random']) { $check= mysql_query('SELECT * FROM members WHERE id= "$_SESSION[lastid]" AND random = " $_SESSION[random]"'); $checknum = mysql_num_rows($check); //$checknum = mysql_query($check) or die("Error: ". mysql_error(). " with query ". $check); if($checknum != 0) // run query to activate the account { $acti= mysql_query('UPDATE members SET activation = "1" WHERE id= "$_SESSION[lastid]"'); die('Your account has been activated. You may now log in!'); }else{ echo('Invalid id or activation code.') . ' lastid: ' .$_SESSION['lastid'] . ' random: ' .$_SESSION['random'] ; // die ('Invalid id or activation code.'); } }else{ die('Could not either find id or random number!'); } this is the warning I am getting from mysql: Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /hermes/bosweb26b/b2501/servername/folder/file.php on line 30 but when I echo the variables out, I get the same values that are stored in the database.... Invalid id or activation code. lastid: 2 and random: 36308075 could someone please give me a hint? thank you.

• sql query --need some suggestions

- by benjamin button
I have a table with list of cycle codes.CYCLE_DEFINITION. each and every cycle_code has 12 months entries in another table(PM1_CYCLE_STATE). Each and every month has a cycle_start_date and a cycle_close_date. i will check with a particular date(lets say sysdate) and check what is the current month of every cycle.additionally i will also get the list of future 3 more months of that particular cycle. the query i have written is as below: SELECT cycd,cm,sd,ed,ld FROM (SELECT pcs.cycle_code CYCD,LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+0 CM, pcs.cycle_start_date SD,pcs.cycle_close_date ED,ld.logical_date LD FROM pm1_cycle_state pcs,logical_date ld WHERE ld.logical_date BETWEEN pcs.cycle_start_date AND pcs.cycle_close_date and ld.logical_date_type='B') UNION SELECT cycd,cm,sd,ed,ld FROM (SELECT pcs.cycle_code CYCD,DECODE(LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+1,13,1,14,2,15,3,LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+1) CM ,pcs.cycle_start_date SD,pcs.cycle_close_date ED,ld.logical_date LD FROM pm1_cycle_state pcs,logical_date ld WHERE ld.logical_date BETWEEN pcs.cycle_start_date AND pcs.cycle_close_date and ld.logical_date_type='B') UNION SELECT cycd,cm,sd,ed,ld FROM (SELECT pcs.cycle_code CYCD,DECODE(LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+2,13,1,14,2,15,3,LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+2) CM ,pcs.cycle_start_date SD,pcs.cycle_close_date ED,ld.logical_date LD FROM pm1_cycle_state pcs,logical_date ld WHERE ld.logical_date BETWEEN pcs.cycle_start_date AND pcs.cycle_close_date and ld.logical_date_type='B') UNION SELECT cycd,cm,sd,ed,ld FROM (SELECT pcs.cycle_code CYCD,DECODE(LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+3,13,1,14,2,15,3,LTRIM(pcs.cycle_month,'0')+3) CM ,pcs.cycle_start_date SD,pcs.cycle_close_date ED,ld.logical_date LD FROM pm1_cycle_state pcs,logical_date ld WHERE ld.logical_date BETWEEN pcs.cycle_start_date AND pcs.cycle_close_date and ld.logical_date_type='B') This query is running perfectly fine. This will result in all the cycle_codes with exactly 4 rows for current month and future 3 months. Now the requirement is if any of the month is missing.how could i show it? for eg: the output of the above query is cycd cm 102 1 102 10 102 11 102 12 103 1 103 10 103 11 103 12 104 1 104 10 104 11 104 12 Now lets say the row with cycd=104 and cm=11 is not present in the table, then the above query will not get the row 104 11. I want to display only those rows. how could i do it?

• Multi-Select Dropdown with size of 1

- by Thomas
Is there any way of creating a combo box () with a size of 1? All the examples I can find allow for multiple selects but with a number of options visible at any one time. If this cannot be accomplished with bog standard HTML is it possible in a JS library such as JQuery?

• MySQL "OR MATCH" hangs (very slow) on multiple tables

- by Kerry
After learning how to do MySQL Full-Text search, the recommended solution for multiple tables was OR MATCH and then do the other database call. You can see that in my query below. When I do this, it just gets stuck in a "busy" state, and I can't access the MySQL database. SELECT a.`product_id`, a.`name`, a.`slug`, a.`description`, b.`list_price`, b.`price`, c.`image`, c.`swatch`, e.`name` AS industry, MATCH( a.`name`, a.`sku`, a.`description` ) AGAINST ( '%s' IN BOOLEAN MODE ) AS relevance FROM `products` AS a LEFT JOIN `website_products` AS b ON (a.`product_id` = b.`product_id`) LEFT JOIN ( SELECT `product_id`, `image`, `swatch` FROM `product_images` WHERE `sequence` = 0) AS c ON (a.`product_id` = c.`product_id`) LEFT JOIN `brands` AS d ON (a.`brand_id` = d.`brand_id`) INNER JOIN `industries` AS e ON (a.`industry_id` = e.`industry_id`) WHERE b.`website_id` = %d AND b.`status` = %d AND b.`active` = %d AND MATCH( a.`name`, a.`sku`, a.`description` ) AGAINST ( '%s' IN BOOLEAN MODE ) OR MATCH ( d.`name` ) AGAINST ( '%s' IN BOOLEAN MODE ) GROUP BY a.`product_id` ORDER BY relevance DESC LIMIT 0, 9 Any help would be greatly appreciated. EDIT All the tables involved are MyISAM, utf8_general_ci. Here's the EXPLAIN SELECT statement: id select_type table type possible_keys key key_len ref rows Extra 1 PRIMARY a ALL NULL NULL NULL NULL 16076 Using temporary; Using filesort 1 PRIMARY b ref product_id product_id 4 database.a.product_id 2 1 PRIMARY e eq_ref PRIMARY PRIMARY 4 database.a.industry_id 1 1 PRIMARY <derived2> ALL NULL NULL NULL NULL 23261 1 PRIMARY d eq_ref PRIMARY PRIMARY 4 database.a.brand_id 1 Using where 2 DERIVED product_images ALL NULL NULL NULL NULL 25933 Using where I don't know how to make that look neater -- sorry about that UPDATE it returns the query after 196 seconds (I think correctly). The query without multiple tables takes about .56 seconds (which I know is really slow, we plan on changing to solr or sphinx soon), but 196 seconds?? If we could add a number to the relevance if it was in the brand name ( d.name ), that would also work

• Multi-Column Join in Hibernate/JPA Annotations

- by bowsie
I have two entities which I would like to join through multiple columns. These columns are shared by an @Embeddable object that is shared by both entities. In the example below, Foo can have only one Bar but Bar can have multiple Foos (where AnEmbeddableObject is a unique key for Bar). Here is an example: @Entity @Table(name = "foo") public class Foo { @Id @Column(name = "id") @GeneratedValue(generator = "seqGen") @SequenceGenerator(name = "seqGen", sequenceName = "FOO_ID_SEQ", allocationSize = 1) private Long id; @Embedded private AnEmbeddableObject anEmbeddableObject; @ManyToOne(targetEntity = Bar.class, fetch = FetchType.LAZY) @JoinColumns( { @JoinColumn(name = "column_1", referencedColumnName = "column_1"), @JoinColumn(name = "column_2", referencedColumnName = "column_2"), @JoinColumn(name = "column_3", referencedColumnName = "column_3"), @JoinColumn(name = "column_4", referencedColumnName = "column_4") }) private Bar bar; // ... rest of class } And the Bar class: @Entity @Table(name = "bar") public class Bar { @Id @Column(name = "id") @GeneratedValue(generator = "seqGen") @SequenceGenerator(name = "seqGen", sequenceName = "BAR_ID_SEQ", allocationSize = 1) private Long id; @Embedded private AnEmbeddableObject anEmbeddableObject; // ... rest of class } Finally the AnEmbeddedObject class: @Embeddable public class AnEmbeddedObject { @Column(name = "column_1") private Long column1; @Column(name = "column_2") private Long column2; @Column(name = "column_3") private Long column3; @Column(name = "column_4") private Long column4; // ... rest of class } Obviously the schema is poorly normalised, it is a restriction that AnEmbeddedObject's fields are repeated in each table. The problem I have is that I receive this error when I try to start up Hibernate: org.hibernate.AnnotationException: referencedColumnNames(column_1, column_2, column_3, column_4) of Foo.bar referencing Bar not mapped to a single property I have tried marking the JoinColumns are not insertable and updatable, but with no luck. Is there a way to express this with Hibernate/JPA annotations? Thank you.

• magento category tree menu query being called on every page

I have this query being called on every page in Magento CE 1.6.2, to find out where is it being called from, I have disabled all modules, removed the customizations done but it's still being called, this query is slowing up the page loading time and am at my wit's end trying to find out how can I stop it from being executed. The query is given below, for simplcitiy, I have removed lot of category id' to keep the sql short, it would be great if I could get solutions or hints to stop this query being called. • Strategy for developing a multi function asp.net web application

- by user247023
I'm about to start a new project and want some advice on how to implement. I need a web application which contains a booking module for reserving timeslots, and a time management module which will enable employees to clock in / clock out. If I am writing an update to the time managment module, I don't want to disrupt the booking engine availability by releasing a new solution containing both modules. to make things more difficult, there is some shared functionality like common users, roles and security. Here's a suggestion I've gotten, which sounds a bit cruddy, but may be functional. Write a 'container' web application which consists of basically a frame, and authentication / security features. This then has links which, will load the 2 independantly built and released web applications into the frame. I can see that say, if I wanted to update the time management module, I would only need to build and release this separately, and the rest of the solution would be 'untouched' Any better alternatives?

• How to implement multi relationship in SQL Server?

- by Ethan
I’m trying to design a database to use with ASP.net MVC application. Here is the scenario: There are three entities and users can post their comments for each of these different entities. I just wonder how just put one table for Comments and link all other entities to it. Obviously, Comments table needs 3 references (foreign key) to those tables but as you know these foreign keys can’t be null and just one of them can be filled for each row. Is there any better way than implementing three different tables for each entity’s comments?

• django simple approach to multi-field search

- by Scott Willman
I have a simple address book app that I want to make searchable. The model would look something like: class Address(models.Model): address1 = models.CharField("Address Line 1", max_length=128) address2 = models.CharField("Address Line 2", max_length=128) city = models.CharField("City", max_length=128) state = models.CharField("State", max_length=24) zipCode = models.CharField("Zip Code", max_length=24) def __unicode__(self): return "%s %s, %s, %s, %s" % (self.address1, self.address2, self.city, self.state, self.zipCode) class Entry(models.Model): name = models.CharField("Official School Name", max_length=128) createdBy = models.ForeignKey(User) address = models.ForeignKey(Address, unique=True) def __unicode__(self): return "%s - %s, %s" % (self.name, self.address.city, self.address.state) I want the searching to be fairly loose, like: Bank of America Los Angeles 91345. It seems like I want a field that contains all of those elements into one that I can search, but that also seems redundant. I was hoping I could add a method to the Entry model like this: def _getSearchText(self): return "%s %s %s" % (self.name, self.address, self.mascot) searchText = property(_getSearchText) ...and search that as a field, but I suppose that's wishful thinking... How should I approach this using basic Django and SqLite (this is a learning exercise). Thank you!!

- by wheaties
Generally don't do OO-programming in Python. This project requires it and am running into a bit of trouble. Here's my scratch code for attempting to figure out where it went wrong: class trial(object): def output( func, x ): def ya( self, y ): return func( self, x ) + y return ya def f1( func ): return output( func, 1 ) @f1 def sum1( self, x ): return x which doesn't compile. I've attempted to add the @staticmethod tag to the "output" and "f1" functions but to no avail. Normally I'd do this def output( func, x ): def ya( y ): return func( x ) + y return ya def f1( func ): return output( func, 1 ) @f1 def sum1( x ): return x which does work. So how do I get this going in a class?

• Iterating Over Using jQuery + Multi Select

- by Kezzer
This isn't quite as straight forward as one may think. I'm using a plugin called jQuery MultiSelect and multiple <select options using XSLT as follows: <xsl:for-each select="RootField"> <xsl:for-each select="ChildField"> <xsl:value-of select="ChildField"/> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:for-each> The accompanying JavaScript is as follows: var selects = document.getElementsByTagName("select"); $.each(selects, function() { $(this).multiSelect(); }); This allows me to apply the multiSelect(); function to every single <select on the page. The behaviour is quite strange, every other <select is being changed into the dropdown list (all the even ones anyway). I can't see anything wrong in my JavaScript to cause this issue as it would iterate over every single one. To make it more clear, the only lists that have that JavaScript applied to it are ones in position 2, 4, 6 and 8 (out of the 9 which are on the page). Any ideas?

• SQL wont work? It doesn't come up with errors either

• Multi-module Maven build

- by Don
Hi, My project has a fairly deep graph of Maven modules. The root POM has the following plugin configured <plugins> <plugin> <groupId>org.jvnet</groupId> <artifactId>animal-sniffer</artifactId> <version>1.2</version> <configuration> <signature> <groupId>org.jvnet.animal-sniffer</groupId> <artifactId>java1.4</artifactId> <version>1.0</version> </signature> </configuration> </plugin> </plugins> If I invoke this target from the command line in the root directory via: mvn animal-sniffer:check Then it works fine as long as the current module extends (either directly or indirectly) from the root POM. However there are many children (or grandchildren) of the root module, which do not inherit from that module's POM. In this case, the goal fails because it cannot find the necessary configuration [ERROR] BUILD ERROR [INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [INFO] One or more required plugin parameters are invalid/missing for 'animal-sniffer:check' [0] Inside the definition for plugin 'animal-sniffer' specify the following: <configuration> ... <signature>VALUE</signature> </configuration>. When configuring this plugin in the root module, is there any way to exclude a list of sub-modules either by name, or by packaging type? Thanks, Donal

• Keeping DB Table sorted using multi-field formula (Microsoft SQL Server)

- by user298167
I have a JOB table, with two interesting columns: Creation Date Importance (high - 3, medium 2, low - 1). A JOB record's priority calculated like this: Priority = Importance * (time passed since creation) The problem is, every time I would like to pick 200 jobs with highest priority, and I don't want to resort the table. Is there a way to keep rows sorted? I was also thinking about having three tables one for High, Medium and Low and then sort those by Creation Date.

• c# multi inheritance

- by user326839
So ive got a base class which requires a Socket: class Sock { public Socket s; public Sock(Socket s) { this.s = s; } public virtual void Process(byte[] data) { } ... } then ive got another class. if a new socket gets accepted a new instance of this class will be created: class Game : Sock { public Random Random = new Random(); public Timerr Timers; public Test Test; public Game(Socket s) : base(s) { } public static void ReceiveNewSocket(object s) { Game Client = new Game((Socket)s); Client.Start(); } public override void Process(byte[] buf) { Timers = new Timerr(s); Test = new Test(s); Test.T(); } } in the Sock class ive got a virtual function that gets overwritten by the Game class.(Process function) in this function im calling a function from the Test Class(Test+ Timerr Class: class Test : Game { public Test(Socket s) : base(s) { } public void T() { Console.WriteLine(Random.Next(0, 10)); Timers.Start(); } } class Timerr : Game { public Timerr(Socket s) : base(s) { } public void Start() { Console.WriteLine("test"); } } ) So in the Process function im calling a function in Test. And in this function(T) i need to call a function from the Timerr Class. But the problem is its always NULL , although the constructor is called in Process. And e.g. the Random Class can be called, i guess its because its defined with the constructor.: public Random Random = new Random(); and thats why the other classes(without a constructor): public Timerr Timers; public Test Test; are always null in the inherited class Test. But its essentiel that i call other Methods of other classes in this function. How could i solve that?

• Efficient algorithm for Next button on a MySQL result set

- by David Grayson
I have a website that lets people view rows in a table (each row is a picture). There are more than 100,000 rows. You can view different subsets of the rows, and you can view them with different sort orders. While you are viewing one of the rows, you can click the "Next" or "Previous" buttons to go the next/previous row in the list. How would you implement the "Next" and "Previous" features of the website? More specifically, if you have an arbitrary query that returns a list of up to 100,000+ rows, and you know some information about the current row someone is viewing, how do you determine the NEXT row efficiently? Here is the pseudo-code of the solution I came up with when the website was young, and it worked well when there were only 1000 rows, but now that there are 100,000 rows I think it is eating up too much memory. int nextRowId(string query, int currentRowId) { array allRowIds = mysql_query(query); // Takes up a lot of memory! int currentIndex = (index of currentRowId in allRowIds); // Takes time! return allRowIds[currentIndex+1]; } While you are thinking about this problem, remember that the website can store more information about the current row than just its ID (for example, the position of the current row in the result set), and this information can be used as a hint to help determine the ID of the next row. Edit: Sorry for not mentioning this earlier, but this isn't just a static website: rows can often be added to the list, and rows can be re-ordered in the list. (Much rarer, rows can be removed from the list.) I think that I should worry about that kind of thing, but maybe you can convince me otherwise.

• Implementing a multi-state planner

- by MoominTroll
I've been asked to develop a system wherein employees can mark on a form their availability on a given day of the week - for instance an employee could mark themselves as available on a given time on a given week, and unavailable on some other time. It looks a little like this: Currently this works by rendering checkboxes within the table, picking up click events in each cell and marking the checkbox and hence the cell appropriately. I'm using the JQuery "click n drag checkbox" plugin from here. However, I've been informed that there could well be more than two states for a given cell (for instance available, unavailable, available in a given circumstance), in which case binding to a checkboxes checked value isnt going to be a lot of help. I've never used javascript or asp.net before and am unsure as to the best way to approach this problem. Ideally I could stick a data structure behind each cell which I could update to a certain state and then get my cell colour by binding to this - however I'm at something as a loss as how to best achieve this.

• Multi-Part HTTP Request through xcode

- by devsri
Hello Everyone, i want to upload image, video and audio files to a server. I have read this thread on the similar topic but wasn't able to understand completely the flow of the code. It would be great if you can suggest me some sample code or tutorial to start with. I am using the following code to connect without any media to the server [UIApplication sharedApplication].networkActivityIndicatorVisible = YES; NSString *url =[[NSString alloc]initWithFormat:@"%@",[NetworkConstants getURL]]; NSURL *theURL =[NSURL URLWithString:url]; [url release]; NSMutableURLRequest *theRequest =[NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:theURL cachePolicy:NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringCacheData timeoutInterval:0.0f]; [theRequest setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; NSString *theBodyString = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"json1=%@&userID=%@",jsonObject,[GlobalConstants getUID]]; NSData *theBodyData = [theBodyString dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; [theRequest setHTTPBody:theBodyData]; NSURLConnection *conn = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:theRequest delegate:self]; if (conn) { NSLog(@"Successful in sending sync"); } else { NSLog(@"Failed Connection in sending sync"); } [conn release]; It would be really convenient for me if anything could be done editing this part of code. Any form of help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

• XSLT for-each from query results

- by Ben Record
I've been on a hunt for a while trying to find a solution to this but I cannot find anywhere that addresses this problem. I'm running a SQL query through XSLT which will return three rows. Here is the query: <query name="OrderedProductNames" rowElementName ="OrderedItem"> <sql> select OrderedProductName, Quantity from Orders_ShoppingCart where OrderNumber = 101689 // Hard coded order number for testing purposes. </sql> </query> Ideally, I would like to iterate through each row returned and do a choose when which is tested on a variable from the current row being inspected in the for-each loop, but I am not entirely sure thhis is possible. My secondary thought would be to use the for-each loop as a way to inject hidden HTML input elements with the values I would need, then I could write a javascript function to complete what I'm trying to do. Any suggestion on how I would go about completing either task would be greatly appreciated.
