In Python 2.6.4: >> Decimal('0') > 9999.0 True From the answer to my original question I understand that when comparing objects of different types in Python 2.x the types are ordered by their name. But in this case: >> type(Decimal('0')).__name__ > type(9999.0).__name__ False Why is Decimal('0') > 9999.0 == True then?     Hello, in my Rails 3 App, I'm posting with jQuery the following: http://0.0.0.0:3000/topics/read_updater?&topic_id=101&read=true In my controller: def read_updater current_user.topics.where(:topic_id => params[:topic_id]).update_all(:read => params[:read]) render :json => {:status => 'success' } end params[:conversation_id] works great, but params[:read] is inserting empty values in the DB, even though jQuery is posting either a true or false. Ideas? I want rails to update the DB with either true or false. Thanks

    I have a SharePoint list I converted to XSLT to do some additional grouping and counting and percentages. I need to return the number of items = true within my nodeset, I have: <xsl:value-of select="count($nodeset/@PartnerArrivedAtCall)"/> (which returns the count of all the nodes) I have tried <xsl:value-of select="count($nodeset/@PartnerArrivedAtCall [@PartnerArrivedAtCall = 'Yes'])"/> (returns zero) and <xsl:variable name="ArrivedYes" select="$nodeset/@PartnerArrivedAtCall [@PartnerArrivedAtCall='Yes']"/> (also returns zero) Can you please give me a good example of how to count only the true values (in my XML, true = "Yes") Thanks!

  • Configure ApacheDS 1.5 with accessControlEnabled=true for authenticated access

    I need to set up an apacheDS instance. I am using standalone 1.5.5 on Linux. I have removed the example partition and added two of my own, each with their own suffixes. I have imported LDIFs for the two partitions and everything looks correct data-wise. I need to configure ApacheDS to disallow anonymous access. I was able to do that by following some of the directions here: http://directory.apache.org/apacheds/1.5/145-enable-and-disable-anonymous-access.html http://directory.apache.org/apacheds/1.5/32-basic-authorization.html Now only the administrator account (uid=admin,ou=system) can log in and make queries. I need to establish an admin account, and a "regular user" account which can read and write only certain entries within each partition. I tried to read the above docs and I got nuthin'. The second page "basic authorization" is completely incomprehensible to me. When I tried to add a "prescriptiveACI" to it using Apache Directory Studio, I get: Administration point 2.5.4.11=abc,2.5.4.10=efg does not contain an administrativeRole attribute! An administrativeRole attribute in the administrative point is required to add a subordinate subentry. where my partition is "ou=abc,o=def". I have no clue what is going on and the docs are really not helping, I am at a complete loss here. How can it possibly be this hard to just restrict access? P.S. can someone with proper rep please change the tag "apache" to the new tag "ApacheDS"?

  • Emails not sending from outlook / OWA - Not even hitting the mail queue in exchange

    We are having an issue this morning where we can receive external emails but cannot send internal or external ones from Outlook or OWA. If I use: Send-MailMessage –From <[email protected]> –To <[email protected]> –Subject “Test #01”-Body “Just a test message.” –SMTPServer <Server-Name> –Credential <domain\user> the email is sent correctly which makes me think there is a connection issue with OWA and Outlook. However, outlook is reporting as Connected with exchange. I have checked the message tracking in exchange tools and emails sent via outlook and OWA do not appear. Nothing has changed on the server on the weekend so I don't really know where to start debugging this issue. We are using Windows SBS 2011. We only have one send connector which isn't using Smart Hosts and is set to use DNS MX records. Use external DNS is not checked and I can ping google.com etc so doesn't appear to be a DNS issue (plus the email sends from the console anyway). EDIT It appears that users using IMAP can send emails correctly, its only ones that rely on the normal exchange connection type that don't work. EDIT Emails from IMAP are hitting the email queue's where as emails from the normal exchange accounts aren't. EDIT It seems that some of the emails we tried to send yesterday sent at about 1am but now it won't work again..

  • Google MAIL not arriving - relay not allowed

    I have a server with sendmail, hosting my domain mind-zone.nl, i changed the MX records to point to the server. When I use Hotmail or any other client the email arrives and everything is fine. ONLY mail from GMAIL server is bounced and gmail returns "relay denied". I have set all the virtual server host settings etc, from command line I can send mails as well, hotmail works, etc. Just not gmail. The strange thing is, this is what gmail returns: Look at the lower part: "Received by" it returns some IP address which is not mine and has absolutely nothing with my domain. While when I do a NSLOOKUP and change to google's DNS server it will state that the IP Address for my domain is correctly pointing at my server. Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error.   • What git branching models actually work - the final question

    In our company we have successfully deployed git and we are currently using a simple trunk/release/hotfixes branching model. However, this has it's problems, I have some key issues of confusion in the community which would be awesome to have answered here. Maybe my hopes for an Alexander stroke are too great, quite possibly I'll decompose this question into more manageable issues, but here's my first shot. Workflows / branching models - below are the three main descriptions of this I have seen, but they are partially contradicting each other or don't go far enough to sort out the subsequent issues we've run into (as described below). Thus our team so far defaults to not so great solutions. Are you doing something better? gitworkflows(7) Manual Page (nvie) A successful Git branching model (reinh) A Git Workflow for Agile Teams Merging vs rebasing (tangled vs sequential history) - the bids on this are as confusing as it gets. Should one pull --rebase or wait with merging back to the mainline until your task is finished? Personally I lean towards merging since this preserves a visual illustration of on which base a task was started and finished, and I even prefer merge --no-ff for this purpose. It has other drawbacks however. Also many haven't realized the useful property of merging - that it isn't commutative (merging a topic branch into master does not mean merging master into the topic branch). I am looking for a natural workflow - sometimes mistakes happen because our procedures don't capture a specific situation with simple rules. For example a fix needed for earlier releases should of course be based sufficiently downstream to be possible to merge upstream into all branches necessary (is the usage of these terms clear enough?). However it happens that a fix makes it into the master before the developer realizes it should have been placed further downstream, and if that is already pushed (even worse, merged or something based on it) then the option remaining is cherry-picking, with it's associated perils... What simple rules like such do you use? Also in this is included the awkwardness of one topic branch necessarily excluding other topic branches (assuming they are branched from a common baseline). Developers don't want to finish a feature to start another one feeling like the code they just wrote is not there anymore How to avoid creating merge conflicts (due to cherry-pick)? What seems like a sure way to create a merge conflict is to cherry-pick between branches, they can never be merged again? Would applying the same commit in revert (how to do this?) in either branch possibly solve this situation? This is one reason I do not dare to push for a largely merge-based workflow. How to decompose into topical branches? - We realize that it would be awesome to assemble a finished integration from topic branches, but often work by our developers is not clearly defined (sometimes as simple as "poking around") and if some code has already gone into a "misc" topic, it can not be taken out of there again, according to the question above? How do you work with defining/approving/graduating/releasing your topic branches? Proper procedures like code review and graduating would of course be lovely, but we simply cannot keep things untangled enough to manage this - any suggestions? integration branches, illustration please?     I followed exactly what I thought I understood the steps to be in the iPhone Programming Guide for specifying that my app requires telephony (I opened MyApp-info.plist, added a new key called UIRequiredDeviceCapabilties, set the key type to Dictionary, added a new row with key set to "telephony", type Boolean, value YES), and sent my app off to Apple. Lo and behold, eleven days later, I get a message from Apple that it's been rejected for not using the UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities key. WTF? How are you actually supposed to implement this?

  • How to actually use Swing Application Framework?

    Hello, I'd like to learn how to effectively use Swing Application Framework. Most of the the examples I've found are blog entries that just explain how to great it is to extend SingleFrameApplication and override its startup method, but that's about it. Sun's article is almost two years old, as is the project's own introduction, and there has apparently been some evolution since then. Are there any recent and thorough tutorials/HOWTOs available anywhere? There is JavaDoc of course, but it's hard to get the big picture from there. Any pointers are appreciated. Update: I realized that there's a mailing list archive at the project's site. While somewhat clumsy (compared to StackOverflow ;) it seems to be quite active. Still it's a pity that there are no real tutorials anywhere. The information is scattered here and there. Update 2: Let me clarify - I'm not having trouble using Swing (the widget toolkit) itself, I'm talking about its Application Framework, which is supposed to ease things like application lifecycle (startup, exit and whatever happens between them), action management etc. - that is, things that most Swing applications will need. It's cool to get such framework to be standard part of Java. The only problem is to learn how it's intended to be used. Update 3: For the interested, there was just some discussion at the project's forum regarding the current state and future of JSR 296. Shortly: the current version 1.03 is considered to be quite usable, but the API is not stable and it will change to the final version in Java 7. The package name will also change so Java 7 will not break current applications made on SAF. Update 4: Karsten Lentzsch stated at the above mentioned forum: "I doubt that it can be included in Java 7; and I'll vote against it.". I would rather not question the sincerity of this great guru, and it's certainly wise not to let anything flawed to slip into the core JDK, but frankly it's a strange situation - he is the author of JGoodies Swing Suite which is partly a commercial competitor of JSR 296, and he is sitting in the committee that will decide whether this JSR will be included to standard Java. It was the same thing with JSR 295 Beans Binding which I wrote about earlier. Given the current state of SAF, I think the best solution is to wrap the current implementation into a "homebrew" framework, which can then accommodate possible changes to the existing API.

Any thoughts about why the threads seem to be afraid of the Invoke?
