  • Group multiple media queries formed as output of LESS css

    - by Goje87
    I was planning to use LESS css in my project (PHP). I am planning to use its nested @media query feature. I find that it fails to group the multiple media queries in the output css it generates. For example: // LESS .header { @media all and (min-width: 240px) and (max-width: 319px) { font-size: 12px; } @media all and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 479px) { font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; } } .body { @media all and (min-width: 240px) and (max-width: 319px) { font-size: 10px; } @media all and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 479px) { font-size: 12px; } } // output CSS @media all and (min-width: 240px) and (max-width: 319px) { .header { font-size: 12px; } } @media all and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 479px) { .header { font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; } } @media all and (min-width: 240px) and (max-width: 319px) { .body { font-size: 10px; } } @media all and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 479px) { .body { font-size: 12px; } } My expected output is (@media queries grouped) @media all and (min-width: 240px) and (max-width: 319px) { .header { font-size: 12px; } .body { font-size: 10px; } } @media all and (min-width: 320px) and (max-width: 479px) { .header { font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; } .body { font-size: 12px; } } I would like to know if it can be done in LESS it self or is there any simple CSS parser I can use to manipulate the output CSS to group the @media queries.

  • CSS width fills out in IE8 Compatibility mode, works as it should in normal mode

    - by Colin

    I'm using the new API to set the width of my jqGrid like this: $('#grid').jqGrid('setGridWidth', $(window).width() * 0.98); The problem is that in IE7 I'm getting this error: 'p.cellLayout' is null or not an object This only happens in IE7 (IE8, Firefox and Chrome work fine). Has anybody else encounter this problem and fixed it?

    - by camilo
    Hi. A "quicky": how can I get the size (width) of a NSString? I'm trying to see if the string width of a string to see if it is bigger than a given width of screen, case in which I have to "crop" it and append it with "...", getting the usual behavior of a UILabel. string.length won't do the trick since AAAAAAAA and iiiiii have the same length but different sizes (for example). I'm kind of stuck. Thanks a lot.

  • D3 fisheye on width on bar chart

    - by Dexter Tan
    i have been trying to create a vertical bar chart with a d3 fisheye cartesian distortion with only the x-axis being distorted. I have succeeded in distorting the x position of the vertical bars on mouseover with the following code: var maxMag = d3.max(dataset, function(d) { return d.value[10]; }); var minDate = d3.min(dataset, function(d) { return new Date(d.value[1], d.value[2]-1, d.value[3]).getTime(); }); var maxDate = d3.max(dataset, function(d) { return new Date(d.value[1], d.value[2]-1, d.value[3]).getTime(); }); var yScale = d3.scale.linear().domain([0, maxMag]).range([0, h]); var xScale = d3.fisheye.scale(d3.scale.linear).domain([minDate, maxDate]).range([0, w]).focus(w/2); var bar = svg.append("g") .attr("class", "bars") .selectAll(".bar") .data(dataset) .enter().append("rect") .attr("class", "bar") .attr("y", function(d) { return h - yScale(d.value[10]); }) .attr("width", w/dataset.length) .attr("height", function(d) { return yScale(d.value[10]); }) .attr("fill", function(d) { return (d.value[10] <= 6? "yellow" : "orange" ); }) .call(position); // Positions the bars based on data. function position(bar) { bar.attr("x", function(d) { var date = null; if (d.date != null) { date = d.date; } else { date = new Date(d.value[1],0,1); if (d.value[2] != null) date.setMonth(d.value[2]-1); if (d.value[3] != null) date.setMonth(d.value[3]); d.date = date; } return xScale(date.getTime()); }); } svg.on("mousemove", function() { var mouse = d3.mouse(this); xScale.distortion(2.5).focus(mouse[0]); bar.call(position); }); However at this point, applying fisheye on the width remains a mystery to me. I have tried several methods like using a fisheye scale for width however it does not work as expected. What i wish to do is to have the width of a bar expand on mouseover, the same way a single vertical bar is singled out on mouseover with the cartesian distortion. Any clues or help will be much appreciated! edit: http://dexter.xumx.me to view the visualisation i am talking about for easier understanding!

  • Dropdownlist width in IE

    - by NimsDotNet
    In IE, the dropdown-list takes the same width as the dropbox (i hope i am making sense) whereas in Firefox the dropdown-list's width varies according to the content. This basically means that i have to make sure that the dropbox has to be wide enough to display the longest selection possible. this makes my page look very ugly :( Is there any workaround for this problem? How can i uses CSS to set different widths for dropbox and the dropdownlist?

  • Browser size (width and height)

    - by dono
    I'm trying to detect the browser's current size (width and height). I know it's super easy in jquery with $(document).width and $document.height, but I don't want to add the size of the jquery lib to the project, so I'd rather just use built in javascript. What would be the short and efficient way to do the same thing with javascript?

  • Setting column width in Table View

Say, for instance, I have 2 columns and want each column to take up half the screen. How do I do this without explicitly setting the pixels, so that my code can work on multiple screen sizes?

  • Changing multiple objects with a new class name using Jquery

    - by liquilife
    I'd like to click on a trigger and show a specific image. There are multiple triggers which would show a specific image related to it within a set. There are 4 sets The challenge for me is toggling the other images to hide only in this 'set' when one of these triggers are clicked, as there can only be one image showing at a time in each set. Here is the HTML I've put together thus far: <!-- Thumbnails which can be clicked on to toggle the larger preview image --> <div class="materials"> <a href="javascript:;" id="shirtgrey"><img src="/grey_shirt.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="shirtred"><img src="red_shirt.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="shirtblue"><img src="hblue_shirt.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="shirtgreen"><img src="green_shirt.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> </div> <div class="collars"> <a href="javascript:;" id="collargrey"><img src="grey_collar.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="collarred"><img src="red_collar.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="collarblue"><img src="blue_collar.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="collargreen"><img src="green_collar.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> </div> <div class="cuffs"> <a href="javascript:;" id="cuffgrey"><img src="grey_cuff.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="cuffred"><img src="red_cuff.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="cuffblue"><img src="blue_cuff.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="cuffgreen"><img src="/green_cuff.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> </div> <div class="pockets"> <a href="javascript:;" id="pocketgrey"><img src="grey_pocket.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="pocketred"><img src=".png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="pocketblue"><img src="blue_pocket.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> <a href="javascript:;" id="pocketgreen"><img src="green_pocket.png" height="122" width="122" /></a> </div> <!-- The larger images where one from each set should be viewable at one time, triggered by the thumb clicked above --> <div class="selectionimg"> <div class="selectShirt"> <img src="grey_shirt.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectShirtGrey show" /> <img src="red_shirt.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectShirtRed hide" /> <img src="blue_shirt.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectShirtBlue hide" /> <img src="green_shirt.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectShirtGreen hide" /> </div> <div class="selectCollar"> <img src="grey_collar.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectCollarGrey show" /> <img src="red_collar.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectCollarRed hide" /> <img src="blue_collar.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectCollarBlue hide" /> <img src="green_collar.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectCollarGreen hide" /> </div> <div class="selectCuff"> <img src="grey_cuff.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectCuffGrey show" /> <img src="red_cuff.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectCuffRed hide" /> <img src="blue_cuff.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectCuffBlue hide" /> <img src="green_cuff.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectCuffGreen hide" /> </div> <div class="selectPocket"> <img src="grey_pocket.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectPocketGrey show" /> <img src="hred_pocket.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectPocketRed hide" /> <img src="blue_pocket.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectPocketBlue hide" /> <img src="green_pocket.png" height="250" width="250" class="selectPocketGreen hide" /> </div> </div> How can jQuery be used to change a class of an image to "show" and ensure that all other images in that same div are set to a class of "hide"? First time posting here. I'm very efficient with HTML and CSS and have a basic understanding of jQuery. I'm learning and this just seems a little bit beyond my abilities at the moment.
