  • Css aligning/scroll bar problem

    yes another problem with this scroll bar alright so I started the website over again that was mentioned here and I am having problems with this scroll bar again alright so all I have is a single image in a div tag <div align="center" id="SuggestionBox"> <a href="?PageN=2"><img src="images/SuggestionBox.jpg"/></a> </div> this code displays right but when I make the browser window small enough that the full image can not be seen it doesn't give me a scroll bar to see the whole image hopefully this makes sense I am using firefox thanks Good Luck get it?

  • Java HTML parser/validator

    We allow people to enter HTML code on our wiki-like site. But only a limited subset of HTML to not affect our styling and not allow malicious javascript code. Is there a good Java library on the server side to ensure that the code entered is valid? We tried creating an XML Schema document to validate against. The only issue there is the libraries we used to validate gave back cryptic error messages. What I want is for the validation library to actually fix the issue (if there was a style="" attribute added to an element, remove it). If fixing it is not easy, at least allow me to report a message to the user with the location of the error (an error code that I can present a nice message from is fine, probably even preferable).

  • IE7 text align issue

    http://wilwaldon.com/ie7sucks/ If you view this page in anything but IE7 you will see that the spotlight area text is displayed in a column on the right of the image. For some reason it's not showing as a column and I have no idea why. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I'd owe you my first born. Thank you in advance.

  • JQuery Tooltip Plugin from Jorn

    I am thinking someone may have run across this one, but not sure. From a high level, I am trying to roll over a input [type=text] and display a tool tip (with the contained value) using the plugin available at http://bassitance.de. I have to use titles and classes for validation on the specific elements, so I put a blank div to hold the input [type=text] value for the roll over. Issue: It won't hold the value of 2 text boxes at once. Once I put a value in the box on the right, the tooltip on the left goes away. Same thing if I switch it aroun. I can't keep a tooltip on more than one element.   • Eliminate horizontal scrolling in div in favor of horizontal scrolling in browser window

    I have a div, set to 800px wide, that will automatically scroll horizontally if the browser window is resized to < 800px. The behavior I would like, is to have the browser window scroll instead of the div. It would seem simple but for some reason I'm getting hung up on it. Any ideas?     Do you know of any text editor that can be used with a spell checker which is smart enough to ignore XHML/CSS and javascript tags? The requirements would be: It must run in Linux; It must be free and open source; It doesn't need to have WYSIWYG capabilities, but they would be welcome. It must have built in "tag skipping" capabilities or be configurable to skip (X)HTML tags, CSS and embedded Javascript; It doesn't need to have a HTML validator, but if it does it will be a plus; I've tried to use spell checker plugins for Kate, HTML validators for Firefox, Eclipse's HTML editor, but I couldn't find a solution that have a speel checker that ignores hml tags. Thanks! EDIT: Based on the suggestion to check the rest of my html and css. I updated the code above and now it accurately demonstrates the problem. If I take font-size out of #master-container it lines up but then it is not the proper font-size. I tried to add a font-size to ul.inputlist li input but that didn't help. Any suggestions?   • php email html link, but just showing up as html code

    Hi everyone, I'm trying to e-mail a html table, that has links within it. But when I receive the e-mail, it just shows me the html code itself. I'm using PHP pear to send the email. I try constructing a string like so $body = "<table>"; $body = $body . "<tr><td><a href='http://google.ca'>Google</a></td></tr>"; $body = $body . "</table>"; then e-mailing it, but when I receive the e-mail, it comes like this <table><tr><td><a href='http://google.ca'>Google</a></td></tr></table> Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • em vs px... for mobile browsers...

    For desktop browser all modern browser uses Zoom functionality so we can use PX but if same site can be seen on mobile then would px not be good for zooming in mobile browsers. or use of px is also fine for mobile browsers. even if we don't care for IE 6 , should we use em in place of px still if we are not making different site for mobile, same site will be seen on both desktop and mobile phones (iphone, blackberry, windows mobile, opera mini, android etc?

  • JSF Navigation issue Facelets and Beans

    Hi, I have an issue with navigation in my simple jsf system. I have MainBean that has two methods: public String register() and public String login(). I have played with faces-config.xml for several hours and I feel like I miss something very important because I think like I have tried all simple solutions so far :). I have added the mysql connector (jdbc) to Tomcat's lib folder and I am able to register the table to mySQL databse. It even allows my users to log in to the page. The only problem is that I can't use navigation in any other page than login.xhtml. Seems like navigation is only active on this one. I tried to use * but is no joy. I am sure that there is a simple fix for that and someone will come up with correct solution soon. Let's skip all the mysql part and try to fix the navigation issue please. faces-config.xml: http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-facesconfig_1_2.xsd" version="1.2" com.sun.facelets.FaceletViewHandler mainBean dk.itu.beans.MainBean session registerBean dk.itu.beans.RegisterBean session /login.xhtml success /welcome.xhtml failure /login_failed.xhtml sign /register.xhtml /login_failed.xhtml back /login.xhtml Here the last navigation-rule from login_failed.xhtml does not work at all. login.xhtml (which is the main - starting view): login_failed.xhtml: Here I tried many options. I used action="#{mainBean.register})" method that returns "sign" string and none of these worked. There is one more file (not specified in faces-config.xml file, because did not work either - but going from login.xhtml by button works fine. I tried to manage navigation from login_failed.xhtml first, then I will apply the same rool for registration to come back to login page when customer registers his nick name). register.xhtml: Basicaly mainBean.register now calls the database and returns string, but obviously it doesn't navigate to any view (but gives an entry to database). I believe it is simple fix for most of the experienced web developers and any help will be greately appreciated. I use eclipse, tomcat 6 and Widows Vista if that helps :) Thank you in advance.   • Divs being hidden behind content, need to push it down.

    I'm pretty much at wits end right about now and can't seem to figure out why my divs aren't pushing content down on the page. If you go to http://www.wilwaldon.com/itsbroken/template.php you'll notice that the thumbnails on the right side are getting hidden behind the content below them. I'd like the thumbnails to push the bottom content down as opposed to being behind it. Any help would be greatly appreciated and you'd pretty much save my brain from exploding at this point.   • IE7 float/clear bug

    I am having the weirdest behavior in IE7 on this page. I have a clear: left on #moored that makes sure that #content-container will expand to the height of the float: left'd #content. Of course, Firefox and IE8 do it right. The weird thing though, is in IE7, it appears that #content-container is automatically expanding to contain the #secondary-content, which it shouldn't. Even weirder is when I view with IE8 with developer tools, the boundary boxes seem to show the that the #content-container is the expanding to the height of the #secondary-container, even though the background: #fff tells a different story. The background goes to where it should, and the void is now black. I've Googled a bit and came across heaps of similar float bugs, but I don't think I've found one which offers a fix yet for this circumstance. Can anyone please help me?

  • How to disable scrolling the document body?

    I have a HTML which has lot of content and a vertical scrollbar appears as soon as the HTML is loaded. Now from this HTML a full screen IFRAME is loaded. The problem is when the IFRAME is loaded, the parent scrollbar still persists, I want to disable the scrollbar when the Iframe is loaded. I tried: document.body.scroll = "no", it did not work with FF and chrome. document.style.overflow = "hidden"; after this I was still able to scroll, and the whole iframe would scroll up revealing the parent HTML. My requirement is, when the IFRAME is loaded, we should never be able to scroll the entire IFRAME if the parent HTML has a scrollbar. Any ideas?

  • Big text appears for few second on page refresh in IE, How to solve?

    Text always appears in big size for a few seconds when one refreshes the page on IE only, which doesn't look very good. pleas look at IE 7 and try to refresh (I've e.g. been pressing ctrl + F5) to see what i'm facing.
