    I'm working with: seam 2.2.2 + hibernate + richfaces + jboss 5.1 + postgres I have an module which needs to load some data from the database. Easy. The problem is, on development it works fine, 100%, but when I deploy on my production server and try to get the data, an error rise: could not read column value from result set: fechahor9_504_; Bad value for type timestamp : [C@122e5cf SQL Error: 0, SQLState: 22007 Bad value for type timestamp : [C@122e5cf javax.persistence.PersistenceException: org.hibernate.exception.DataException: could not execute query [more errors] Caused by: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: Bad value for type timestamp : [C@122e5cf at org.postgresql.jdbc2.TimestampUtils.loadCalendar(TimestampUtils.java:232) [more errors] Caused by: java.lang.NumberFormatException: Trailing junk on timestamp: '' at org.postgresql.jdbc2.TimestampUtils.loadCalendar(TimestampUtils.java:226) I can't understand why it works on my machine (development) and why not on production.   • Solr DataImportHandler configuration

    I want to get data from mysql database with the help of DataImportHandler so i can create indexes. Now I've configured my Solr instance so that it works on Tomcat (the example admin page), but if I try to change the sorlconfig.xml file i'll get the error message. I'm working with Solr 3.6 So my configuration is: In solrconfig.xml i added: <dataDir>${solr.data.dir:/usr/share/tomcat7/solr2}</dataDir> to specify my working directory and then <requestHandler name="/dataimport" class="org.apache.solr.handler.dataimport.DataImportHandler"> <lst name="defaults"> <str name="config">/usr/share/tomcat7/solr2/conf/data-config.xml</str> </lst> </requestHandler> to specify new request handler. Theese two are my lib directives for DIH.   • Wicket, Spring and Hibernate - Testing with Unitils - Error: Table not found in statement [select re

I've been following a tutorial and a sample application, namely 5 Days of Wicket - Writing the tests: http://www.mysticcoders.com/blog/2009/03/10/5-days-of-wicket-writing-the-tests/ I've set up my own little project with a simple shoutbox that saves messages to a database. I then wanted to set up a couple of tests that would make sure that if a message is stored in the database, the retrieved object would contain the exact same data. Upon running mvn test all my tests fail. The exception has been pasted in the first code box underneath. I've noticed that even though my unitils.properties says to use the 'hdqldb'-dialect, this message is still output in the console window when starting the tests: INFO - Dialect - Using dialect: org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect.     I have a Logic layer that references Silverlight's System.Xml.Linq dll and a GUI that is in WPF (hence using the non-Silverlight System.Xml.Linq dll). When I attempt to pass an XElement from GUI project to a method in the Logic project, I am getting (basically) "XElement is not of type XElement" errors. To complicate matter, I am unable to edit the Logic layer project. The Non-Silverlight DLL is at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\v3.5\System.Xml.Linq.dll THe Silverlight DLL is at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Silverlight\v3.0\Libraries\Client\System.Xml.Linq.dll I am new to C# but I'm fairly sure my issue is that I am referencing different DLL's to access the System.Xml.Linq namespace. I attempted to replace my non-Silverlight System.Xml.Linq.dll with the Silverlight's System.Xml.Linq.dll, but received assembly errors. Is there any way to resolve this short of scrapping my WPF GUI project and creating a Silverlight project?

    This is a fragment of my code from a view: if form.is_valid(): instance = form.save(commit=False) try: instance.account = request.account instance.full_clean() except ValidationError, e: # Do something with the errors here... I don't know what the best thing to do here is, but I certainly don't want to do it 180 times. This is an utter mess. Who would want to handle validation errors manually in every view. If you're not modifying the instance after save(commit=False), you don't have to worry about this, but what about in my case where every model has a foreign key to account which is set behind the scenes and hidden from the user? Any help is really appreciated.

    Hi, I'm using VS2008 to create a Compact Framework application for a Windows CE 5.0 device (Datalogic Kyman). I'm using SQL Server Compact 3.5 in my application. However, I'm debugging on a Kyman that still has Windows CE 4.2 installed (attached via USB using Mobile Device Center). My problem: VS2008 does not recognize that SQL Server Compact is already installed on the device and asks me to install SQL Server Compact every time I'm running my application from the IDE. The installer shows me a warning about the SQL Server Compact CAB file not being suitable for this device, but installation works without errors, also the application works without errors. I've unchecked the box "Always deploy latest .NET version" (don't know what it's called in English exactly, using German VS2008), but that doesn't help. How can I tell Visual Studio not to install the SQL Server before launching my application every time?

    The Overview I am working on a Continuous Integration build of a MFC appliction via CruiseControl.net and VS2010. When building my .sln, a "Visual Studio" CCNet task (<devenv/>) works, but a simple MSBuild wrapper script (see below) run via the CCNet <msbuild/> task fails with errors like: error RC1015: cannot open include file 'winres.h'.. error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'afxwin.h': No such file or directory error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'afx.h': No such file or directory The Question How can I adjust the build environment of my msbuild wrapper so that the application builds correctly? (Pretty clearly the MFC paths aren't right for the msbuild environment, but how do i fix it for MSBuild+VS2010+MFC+CCNet?) Background Details We have successfully upgraded an MFC application (.exe with some MFC extension .dlls) to Visual Studio 2010 and can compile the application without issue on developer machines. Now I am working on compiling the application on the CI server environment I did a full installation of VS2010 (Professional) on the build server. In this way, I knew everything I needed would be on the machine (one way or another) and that this would be consistent with developer machines. VS2010 is correctly installed on the CI server, and the devenv task works as expected I now have a wrapper MSBuild script that does some extended version processing and then builds the .sln for the application via an MSBuild task. This wrapper script is run via CCNet's MSBuild task and fails with the above mentioned errors The Simple MSBuild Wrapper <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Project ToolsVersion="4.0" DefaultTargets="Build" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003"> <Target Name="Build"> <!-- Doing some versioning stuff here--> <MSBuild Projects="target.sln" Properties="Configuration=ReleaseUnicode;Platform=Any CPU;..." /> </Target> </Project> My Assumptions This seems to be a missing/wrong configuration of include paths to standard header resources of the MFC persuasion I should be able to coerce the MSBuild environment to consider the relevant resource files from my VS2010 install and have this approach work. Given the vs2010 msbuild support for visual c++ projects (.vcxproj), shouldn't msbuilding a solution be pretty close to compiling via visual studio? But how do I do that? Am I setting Environment variables? Registry settings? I can see how one can inject additional directories in some cases, but this seems to need a more systemic configuration at the compiler defaults level. Update 1 This appears to only ever happen in two cases: resource compilation (rc.exe), and precompiled header (stdafx.h) compilation, and only for certain projects? I was thinking it was across the board, but indeed it appears only to be in these cases. I guess I will keep digging and hope someone has some insight they would be willing to share...

After I installed new Xcode 3.2.3 (for iPhone OS 4), all my projects started to spit out the "referenced from:" errors. I noticed that in new Xcode all the iPhone SDK versions earlier than 3.2 removed. But I have a projects that built perfectly for iPhone SDK 3.2 on the Xcode 3.2.2 but has errors building for iPhone SDK 3.2 on the Xcode 3.2.3. Thanks in advance!!!

    Using PHP's Image and GD functions you can use the following method to finally output the php image imagepng($image); Sometimes, for whatever reason the image may not be displayed typically the error is not with the image but with the actual php functions not executing successfully. However this causes a blank image to be returned which doesn't help me.   • Rails Resque workers fail with PGError: server closed the connection unexpectedly

    I have site running rails application and resque workers running in production mode, on Ubuntu 9.10, Rails 2.3.4, ruby-ee 2010.01, PostgreSQL 8.4.2 Workers constantly raised errors: PGError: server closed the connection unexpectedly. My best guess is that master resque process establishes connection to db (e.g. authlogic does that when use User.acts_as_authentic), while loading rails app classes, and that connection becomes corrupted in fork()ed process (on exit?), so next forked children get kind of broken global ActiveRecord::Base.connection I could reproduce very similar behaviour with this sample code imitating fork/processing in resque worker. (AFAIK, users of libpq recommended to recreate connections in forked process anyway, otherwise it's not safe ) But, the odd thing is that when I use pgbouncer or pgpool-II instead of direct pgsql connection, such errors do not appear. So, the question is where and how should I dig to find out why it is broken for plain connection and is working with connection pools? Or reasonable workaround?

If I remove the App_Browsers folder everything works perfectly. Any help would be appreciated.

    I am using Word's Spell Check in my in house WinForm app. My clients are all XP machines with Office 2007 and randomly the spell check suggestion box pops up behind the App and makes everything "appear" frozen as you cannot get at it.     Hi Does anyone know if there is a way to get a list of controls that have the ErrorProvider icon active. ie. any controls that failed validation. I'm trying to avoid looping all controls in the form. I'd like to display some sort of message indicating how many errors there are on the form. As my form contains tabs I'm trying to make it apparent to the user that errors may exist on inactive tabs and they need to check all tabs. Thanks Barry

When I try to add references to my project, the imported projects say "incompatible target framework: v2.0". I can change version to 1.0, 3.0, or 3.5 with the same results. If I add the .dll to the monotouch project I get a compilation error - monotouch failed with no output 134. Any suggestions?
