    CGContextSetFillColorWithColor(g, [UIColor greyColor].CGColor); I'm trying to follow O'Reilly's iPhone Game Development book on page 73 Chapter 3 but I'm running into a compile error that states error: request for member 'CGColor' in something not a structure or union According to the book's errata page this is an unconfirmed errata in the book. I'm hoping that someone could help me replace that line of code to something that works. The example project can be downloaded from sourceforge at this link.

  • sanitation script in php for login credentials...

    What I am looking for currently is a simple, basic, login credentials sanitation script. I understand that I make a function to do so and I have one...but all it does right now is strip tags... am I doomed to use replace? or is there a way i can just remove all special characters and spaces and limit it to only letters and numbers...then as for the password limit it to only letters and numbers exclimation points, periods, and other special chars that cannot affect my SQL query.     I have a Python script that pulls in data from many sources (databases, files, etc.). Supposedly, all the strings are unicode, but what I end up getting is any variation on the following theme (as returned by repr()): u'D\\xc3\\xa9cor' u'D\xc3\xa9cor' 'D\\xc3\\xa9cor' 'D\xc3\xa9cor' Is there a reliable way to take any four of the above strings and return the proper unicode string? u'D\xe9cor' # --> Décor The only way I can think of right now uses eval(), replace(), and a deep, burning shame that will never wash away.

    I need to replace url invalid characters with something url valid then convert it back again. This is for a search page with a url like http://my.site/search/this-is-a-search, the search form POSTS then the user redirected to the new url. Php has functions urlencode and urldecode however these do not work at all, and leave invalid characters in my url. Surely I don't need to reinvent the wheel here.

    My project contains WinForms, WPF, and Windows Service programs running on users' office desktop PCs. I want these applications to periodically check for new versions available at specific URL, automatically download new versions and replace themselves with new versions without attracting any user attention (keeping in mind that users may run Windows from XP to 7 and work using non-privileged account (which can be part of active directory)). Alternatively the whole update package has to be able to be distributed as an unattended-installed MSI package. Any recommendations on implementing this?

I was thinking of this: Use traditional PHP file upload form to upload the file to the server. Put files in a queue folder Move the queue folder to a "process" folder, and replace queue folder after a predetermined limit (time, cronjob, file count, collective file size) Run a command line virus scan on files in process folder Place safe files in holding area for use Is this a good approach?

Is there something about '\b' that might be tripping this up?

    Are there any repercussions using Negative Primary Keys for tables (Identity Increment -1, Identity Seed -1 in SQL Server 2005)? The reason for this is we're creating a new database to replace an existing one. There are similar tables between the two databases and we'd like the "source" of the information to be transparent to our applications. The approach is to create views that unions tables from both databases. Negative PKs ensures the identities don't overlap.

  • Make a Button Appear Focused When Not

    The Find and Replace dialog in Visual Studio is a perfect example of what im trying to accomplish. Notice how the "Find what" text field has keyboard focus but the "Find Next" button appears bluish as if it has keyboard focus also even though it does not. How can I accomplish this myself? I've tried messing with FocusManager and Focus Scopes without much luck. I suspect i may be barking up the wrong tree? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks
