• Comparing two java objects on fly (data type not known)

  Hi All, I need to compare different data objects. Can any one tell me how can i do this. I don't know what are the data types i will get priorly. If i need to use any util from apache commons then please give reference to it. At present I am using .equals() for comparing equality of objects .It is working fine when I am comparing quality for two strings. If i am comparing java.sql.date data type then it is showing unequal even though both contains same values. Can any one suggest me on this regard. Thanks, Narendra

  I'm trying to bind a WPF combobox to an observable collection of images. • jQuery Validation using the class instead of the name value

  Hi, I'd like to validate a form using the jquery validate plugin, but I'm unable to use the 'name' value within the html - as this is a field also used by the server app. Specifically, I need to limit the number of checkboxes checked from a group. (Maximum of 3.) All of the examples I have seen, use the name attribute of each element. What I'd like to do is use the class instead, and then declare a rule for that. html This works: <input class="checkBox" type="checkbox" id="i0000zxthy" name="salutation" value="1" /> This doesn't work, but is what I'm aiming for: <input class="checkBox" type="checkbox" id="i0000zxthy" name="i0000zxthy" value="1" /> javascript: var validator = $(".formToValidate").validate({ rules:{ "salutation":{ required:true, }, "checkBox":{ required:true, minlength:3 } } }); Is it possible to do this - is there a way of targeting the class instead of the name within the rules options?   I am in need of a software that is PHP-Based, or similar that can be installed on my server that doesn't offer SVN Perks. It should be somewhat similar to an SVN, however, since the server doesn't support SVN, we'll need another means of doing sort of the same thing. We have a team of Developers and need to accomplish progress in the same way that an SVN does, but without that type of server support. Is there any software that could be installed via webhosting that would be somewhat, if not exactly, similar to an SVN? • Internal compiler error: Could not load type NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration

  I'm referencing the NHibernate dll version 2.1.2-GA, and am unable to compile under Mono 2.8.1. I've tried using NHibernate 3 instead and it compiles fine. A simple example of the code that's failing is NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration cfg = new NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration(); and the error is Error CS0584: Internal compiler error: Could not load type 'NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration' from assembly 'NHibernate, Version=2.1.2.4000, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=aa95f207798dfdb4'. (CS0584) As mentioned it compiles with no problems using NHibernate 3, does anyone have any ideas how to get it working with NHiberate 2.1.2?

• How to check value of stored procedure output parameter

  I have a stored procedure that: A. inserts some rows into a "table variable" based on some joins B. selects all values from column x from that table into a string with comma separated values C. selects all from the "table variable" If I execute the procedure like this: EXEC CatalogGetFilmDetails2 2,111111; a table is returned as instructed per step C above. How can I execute it so that also the output parameter value is displayed? (see point B above). I need to check if it's calculated properly. And since the second parameter is of output type, meaning it's calculated inside the procedure, why is it mandatory to specify a value for it when executing the procedure? I normally use a random value for it, it anyway doesn't matter/impact the result. On the other hand if I try to execute it without the output parameter, it returns an error) Thank you very much!   The standard SQL aggregate function max() will return the highest value in a group; min() will return the lowest. Is there an aggregate function in Oracle to return a random value from a group? Or some technique to achieve this? E.g., given the table foo: group_id value 1 1 1 5 1 9 2 2 2 4 2 8 The SQL query select group_id, max(value), min(value), some_aggregate_random_func(value) from foo group by group_id; might produce: group_id max(value), min(value), some_aggregate_random_func(value) 1 9 1 1 2 8 2 4 with, obviously, the last column being any random value in that group.

I'm trying to create a query that returns records between a specific date range (all records from March 2010) however I encounter a 'data type mismatch in critera expression' message. • How Do I Add Value To All Previous Values In Array

  Lets say I have the following array: my_array = [1, 5, 8, 11, -6] I need to iterate over this array and add the values prior to the current value together. An example will probably be easier to understand. I need to return an array that should look something like this: final_array = [1, 6, 14, 25, 19] I have tried doing something like this: my_array.collect {|value| value + previous_values } But obviously that doesn't work because I can't figure out how to get the previous values in the array. I am a programming noob so this might be easier than I am making it. I am pretty sure I need to use either collect or inject, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

  I am building an application where the user browses certain objects by scrolling and zooming. To change the zoom level I have successfully implemented a "dijit.form.HorizontalSlider" object. Every time the user changes the position of the silder, I can catch the "onChange" call and do something with that. However, the user can also zoom-in by double clicking inside the view zone, at which point the slider should change position automatically to reflect the new zoom level. My question is the following: what function or method should I call in my javascript to update the position of a dojo silder ? It will be for English/Spanish word look-up, where: each value is an array containing all the conjugated verbs in English AND Spanish. each (two) keys contains both an English infinitive (e.g. "to be", "to go") and a Spanish infinitive This way, I can look a word up regardless of language based on the values having two keys per value.   Here I have the following bit of code: private IList<IState> _states = new List<IState>(); private ReadOnlyCollection<IState> _statesViewer; public IList<IState> States { get { return _statesViewer; } } Generally it is preferable to return interfaces than the concrete classes themselves, but in this case, shouldn't I set as the return type of the States property a ReadOnlyCollection? Any user of my library will think it is possible to anything you can do with an IList if I set it as so, and that means adding elements. That is not true and I'm definitely breaking the contract exposing it as an IList. Am I right with this view or there is something else I am missing here?

But when it gets to the HttpPost method, the id value's lost. If switched to public Edit(int? ItemID){ /* Codes */ } [HttpPost] public Edit(Item model){ /* Codes */ } this way ItemID can be persisted in the Item model. But is this a good way to handle it? Will ASP.NET MVC always be able to know that it needs to plug "ItemID" into Item? and are there other ways to persist the ID value? Thanks.

But, now i want to translate text, which key is a value of another variable. For example: I have variable String textToTransl. It`s value is status_booked. In my AppResources is defined, that status_booked means "It is booked!", so, when i am pointing it to #{msg.textToTransl} i need to see "It is booked!" How can i make it work?

  I have a need to convert a string value in the form "YYYYMMDDHHMMSS" to a DateTime. But not sure on how, may be a DateTime.Tryparse can be used to make this happen. Or is there any other way to do it. I can do this using some string operations to take "YYYYMMDD" alone, convert to a datetime and then add HH, MM, SS separately to that DateTime. But is there any DateTime.TryParse() methods that I can use in one line to convert a "YYYYMMDDHHMMSS" format string value to a DateTime value?

• navigation framework in silverlight 3 skipping constructor when usercontrol is of a derived type

  Hi: I am using the NavigationFramework in Silverlight 3, and am running into issues where the constructor of the UserControl in the xaml I am loading is not being called, and I believe this is because the UserControl in the xaml I am calling is actually derived from another user control. I have stepped through the debugger with specific break points and the constructor is being ignored completey. I have MyWindowBlue which is of type uctrlBaseMyWindow. The constructor for uctrlBaseMyWindow is being called when the xaml is 'navigated to' but the constructor for MyWindowBlue is being ignored. This is not the case if I add the user control via markup directly. Anyone else have this issue? The code I am using to navigate to the MyWindowBlue is this.MyContentFrame.Navigate(new Uri("/Controls/uctrlMyWindowBlue.xaml", UriKind.Relative)); Has anyone run into this or could offer any help?   I would like to track the value of a boolean (not Boolean) variable in the Eclips debugger. I need to know when it does change and, for this, i need to track it's value through all the execution; not only when it is in scope. More particularly i have a class (let's call it myClass) with a boolean member variable called isAvailable. My program instantiate 4 or 5 myClass objects. I am expecting that at the end of the execution the isAvailable value of all of my objects is set to true. Contrarily to my excpectation one of myClass objects has isAvailable set to false. I need to know which (in a lot of) methods is setting isAvailable to false.

  Hi! What might be reasons for running in the quoted exception upon a HQL select, when there is actually no NULL value in the respective field in the database? I've checked the database multiple times. I've manually submitted the query statement produced by hibernate (extracted from debug). Null values for the respective field are actually never returned. However, the corresponding row in the database is in fact nullable. Does hibernate care about the data base definition? I know, I could simple change the filed to a wrapper type, but we have a number of such fields in a legacy application and this only occurs upon a single query. I'm just wondering about the actual reason for getting this exception only with a single property. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

  Hello, I am at the end of my knowledge and googled for the answer too but no luck :/ Week ago everything worked well. I did a revert on the repository, recreated the tableadapter etc... nothing helped.
