  • Use Automapper to flatten sub-class of property

    - by Neil
Given the classes: public class Person { public string Name { get; set; } } public class Student : Person { public int StudentId { get; set; } } public class Source { public Person Person { get; set; } } public class Dest { public string PersonName { get; set; } public int? PersonStudentId { get; set; } } I want to use Automapper to map Source - Dest. This test obviously fails: Mapper.CreateMap<Source, Dest>(); var source = new Source() { Person = new Student(){ Name = "J", StudentId = 5 }}; var dest = Mapper.Map<Source, Dest>(source); Assert.AreEqual(5, dest.PersonStudentId); What would be the best approach to mapping this given that "Person" is actually a heavily used data-type throughout our domain model.

  • Pass variables to current tab via chrome extension

    - by iamthejeff
I am writing my first chrome extension, and I want to pass a variable to the currently opened tab and manipulate the DOM with it. My extension has a button, and when clicked, is executing this code: chrome.tabs.getSelected(null, function(tab) { chrome.tabs.executeScript(tab.id, { file: 'tabscript.js' }); }); This works fine, but I see no way to pass a variable to tabscript.js so it can be used on the opened tab.

  • Scala class to implement two Java Interfaces - how?

    - by puudeli
Hi, I have just started learning Scala and I'm now wondering how I could implement two different Java interfaces with one Scala class? Let's say I have the following interfaces written in Java public interface EventRecorder { public void abstract record(Event event); } public interface TransactionCapable { public void abstract commit(); } But a Scala class can extend only one class at a time. How can I have a Scala class that could fulfill both contracts? Do I have to map those interfaces into traits? Note, my Scala classes would be used from Java as I am trying to inject new functionality written in Scala into an existing Java application. And the existing framework expects that both interface contracts are fulfilled.

  • Setting variables in shell script by running commands

    - by rajya vardhan
    >cat /tmp/list1 john jack >cat /tmp/list2 smith taylor It is guaranteed that list1 and list2 will have equal number of lines. f(){ i=1 while read line do var1 = `sed -n '$ip' /tmp/list1` var2 = `sed -n '$ip' /tmp/list2` echo $i,$var1,$var2 i=`expr $i+1` echo $i,$var1,$var2 done < $INFILE } So output of f() should be: 1,john,smith 2,jack,taylor But getting 1,p,p 1+1,p,p If i replace following: var1 = `sed -n '$ip' /tmp/list1` var2 = `sed -n '$ip' /tmp/list2` with this: var1=`head -$i /tmp/vip_list|tail -1` var2=`head -$i /tmp/lb_list|tail -1` Then output: 1,john,smith 1,john,smith Not an expert of shell, so please excuse if sounds childish :)

  • Cross-reference js-object variables when creating object

    - by Ivar Bonsaksen
    Summary: I want to know if it is possible to do something like this: {a: 'A',b: this.a} ...by using some other pointer like {a: 'A',b: self.a} or {a: 'A',b: own.a} or anything else... Full question: I'm trying to extend MyBaseModule using Ext.extend, and need to cross-reference values in the extension object passed to Ext.extend(). Since I'm not yet in context of MyModule, I'm not able to use this to reference the object (See example below line 12). Is there any other way to reference values like this without creating the object first? 1 MyModule = Ext.extend(MyBaseModule, { 2 dataStores: { 3 myDataStore: new Ext.data.Store({...}) 4 }, 5 6 myGridDefinition: { 7 id: 'myGridDefinitionPanel', 8 bodyBorder: false, 9 items: [{ 10 xtype: 'grid', 11 id: 'myGridDefinitionGrid', 12 store: this.dataStores.myDataStore 13 }] 14 } 15 }); Or is the following the only solution? I would like to avoid this if possible, as I find it less readable for large extension definitions. 1 var extensionObject = { 2 dataStores: { 3 myDataStore: new Ext.data.Store({...}) 4 }, 5 6 myGridDefinition: { 7 id: 'myGridDefinitionPanel', 8 bodyBorder: false, 9 items: [{ 10 xtype: 'grid', 11 id: 'myGridDefinitionGrid' 12 }] 13 } 14 }; 15 16 extensionObject.locationsGrid.items[0].store = extensionObject.dataStores.locations; 17 18 MyModule = Ext.extend(MyBaseModule, extensionObject);

  • JQuery UI question, how do you add variables into the dialog box

$('.openDialog').click(function(event){ var width=$(this).attr('width'); var height=$(this).attr('height'); alert(width + ' ' + height); event.preventDefault(); $("#dialog").dialog({autoOpen: false, modal: true}); $('#dialog').dialog('option', 'width', width); $('#dialog').dialog('open'); $('#dialog p').load('http://pagetoload.com/page.html .content'); }); As you can see above i'm trying to open a dialog box with a passed in parameter of width and height, however when I try and pass in the value of width on this line: $('#dialog').dialog('option', 'width', width); it doesn't work, any ideas why or how to get around that? Thanks

  • Linq to SQL gives NotSupportedException when using local variables

    - by zwanz0r
It appears to me that it matters whether you use a variable to temporary store an IQueryable or not. See the simplified example below: This works: List<string> jobNames = new List<string> { "ICT" }; var ictPeops = from p in dataContext.Persons where ( from j in dataContext.Jobs where jobNames.Contains(j.Name) select j.ID).Contains(p.JobID) select p; But when I use a variable to temporary store the subquery I get an exception: List<string> jobNames = new List<string> { "ICT" }; var jobs = from j in dataContext.Jobs where jobNames.Contains(j.Name) select j.ID; var ictPeops = from p in dataContext.Persons where jobs.Contains(p.JobID) select p; "System.NotSupportedException: Queries with local collections are not supported" I don't see what the problem is. Isn't this logic that is supposed to work in LINQ?

  • Passing variables to callback functions

    - by mickyjtwin
I am trying to write a jQuery plugin, that can be applied to a selector. Within this plugin, there are multiple calls to webservices, where callback methods are required. The problem I am having is maintaining the current context item in the each loop of the selector. (function($){ $.fn.myMethod = function(){ return this.each(function(){ var c = $(this); $.api.methodToCall("", CallbackFunction); }); }; function CallbackFunction(data, result){ // do stuff based on c } })(jQuery); Normally, you would provide the callback function straight away, which allows me to access c, however within the callback function, there potentially is another api call, so it would start to get messy. Is there any way to do this?

  • .NET Framework - Possible memory-leaky classes?

    - by Robert Fraser
Just the other day I was investigating a memory leak that was ballooning the app from ~50MB to ~130MB in under two minutes. Turns out that the problem was with the ConcurrentQueue class. Internally, the class stores a linked list of arrays. When an item is dequeued from the ConcurrentQueue, the index in the array is bumped, but the item remains in the array (i.e. it's not set to null). The entire array node is dropped after enough enqueues/dequeues, so it's not technically a leak, but if storing only a few large objects in the ConcurrentQueue, this can get out of hand fast. The documentation makes no note of this danger. I was wondering what other potential memory pitfalls are in the Base Class Library? I know about the Substring one (that is, if you call substring and just hold onto the result, the whole string will still be in memory). Any others you've encountered?

  • Smart pointer class predeclaration

    - by tommyk
I have a header file: class A { public: DeviceProxyPtr GetDeviceProxy(); }; DeviceProxyPtr is defined in a different header file like this: typedef SmartPtrC<DeviceProxyC> DeviceProxyPtr; I don't want to include DeviceProxyPtr definition header. If a return type was DeviceProxy* I could simply use predeclaration class DeviceProxy. Is there any way to do the same with my smart pointer class?

  • Math with interpolated variables?

    - by Idan Gazit
    Consider the following sass: $font-size: 18; $em: $font-size; $column: $font-size * 3; // The column-width of my grid in pixels $gutter: $font-size * 1; // The gutter-width of my grid in pixels $gutter-em: #{$gutter / $em}em; // The gutter-width in ems. $column-em: #{$column / $em}em; // The column-width in ems; $foo = $gutter-em / 2; // This results in a value like "1em/2". :( $bar = ($gutter-em / 2); // this doesn't work either, same as above. How can I generate a $foo that works, and that I can reuse further in other expressions?

  • How to generate makefile targets from variables?

    - by Ketil
I currently have a makefile to process some data. The makefile gets the inputs to the data processing by sourcing a CONFIG file, which defines the input data in a variable. Currently, I symlink the input files to a local directory, i.e. the makefile contains: tmp/%.txt: tmp ln -fs $(shell echo $(INPUTS) | tr ' ' '\n' | grep $(patsubst tmp/%,%,$@)) $@ This is not terribly elegant, but appears to work. Is there a better way? Basically, given INPUTS = /foo/bar.txt /zot/snarf.txt I would like to be able to have e.g. %.out: %.txt some command As well as targets to merge results depending on all $(INPUT) files. Also, apart from the kludgosity, the makefile doesn't work correctly with -j, something that is crucial for the analysis to complete in reasonable time. I guess that's a bug in GNU make, but any hints welcome.

  • jquery noob problem with variables (scope?)

    - by aharon
I'm trying to retrieve data from a php file named return that just contains <?php echo 'here is a string'; ?> I'm doing this through an html file containing <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.min.js"></script> <script> var x; $.get("return.php", function(data){ x = data; }) function showAlert() {alert(x);} $(document).ready(function(){ alert(x); }); </script> </head> <body> <input type = "button" value = "Click here" onClick="showAlert();"> </body> </html> When the button is clicked it retrieves and displays the code fine, but on the $(document).ready thing, it displays "undefined" instead of the data in return.php. Any solutions? Thanks.

  • Java variables -> replace? RAM optimization

    - by poeschlorn
Hi guys, I just wanted to know what happens behind my program when I declare and initialize a variable and later initialize it again with other values, e.g. an ArrayList or something similar. What happens in my RAM, when I say e.g. this: ArrayList<String> al = new ArrayList<String>(); ...add values, work with it and so on.... al = new ArrayList<String>(); So is my first ArrayList held in RAM or will the second ArrayList be stored on the same position where the first one has been before? Or will it just change the reference of "al"? If it is not replaced...is there a way to manually free the RAM which was occupied by the first arraylist? (without waiting for the garbage collector) Would it help to set it first =null? Nice greetings, poeschlorn

  • id vs class selection benchmark

    - by zaf
Has anybody bench marked selecting elements with id's and class's from CSS and javascript? It would make sense that an element with an id is faster to select than if it had a class even if it was the only element with that class. Do I really need to be concerned?

  • Why GLatLng() doesn't receive variables?

    - by David
Hi, i have the following code to update a google map: function updateit(c1,c2){ alert(c1+"-"+c2); // This works map.setCenter(new GLatLng(c1, c2), 13); // But this doesn't } updateit(37.4419, -122.1419); The alert is working and show the two coordinations, but i think the GLatLng() doesn't receive them, so the map is not updated unless i directly declare them as strings : function updateit(c1,c2){ map.setCenter(new GLatLng(37.4419, -122.1419), 13); // This works } How to fix this problem? Thanks

  • Applet class loader cannot find one of the classes in the jar

    - by Chry Cheng
I get the ff. error in Java Console occassionally: Exception in thread "thread applet-my.package.MyApplet-10" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: another/package/SomeClass at my.package.MyApplet.init(MyApplet.java:95) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: another.package.SomeClass at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(Unknown Source) ... 3 more Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed:https://myserver/mycontext/applets/another/package/SomeClass.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.access$000(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) ... 7 more My applet tag is as follows: <applet codebase="../../applets" code="my.package.MyApplet" class="invisible" id="myApplet"> <param value="value0" name="param0"/> ... <param value="valueN" name="paramN" /> <param value="folder/myApplet__0.0.1177.jar,folder/commons-io-1.3.2__0.0.1177.jar,..." name="cache_archive"/> <param value="0.0.1177.0,0.0.1177.0,...," name="cache_version"/> </applet> It is important I stress the word "occasionally". Sometimes the applet is initialized without a hitch. This also means that, often, when the browser is restarted, the problem goes away. SomeClass and MyApplet are in the same jar and the page is being accessed locally.

  • Missunderstanding js variables

    - by meo
I have a little problem: slideHelpers.total = 4 for (i=1;i <= slideHelpers.total; i++) { $('<a href="#">' + i + '</a>').bind('click', function(){ alert('go to the ' + i + ' slide')}).appendTo('.slideaccess') } the alert gives out 5 what is logic, because when the function click triggers i is actually 5. But i would like to have the same i as in my <a> tag. What is the best way to handle this? I could put i in the data() of the <a> tag for example but i am sure there is a easier way.
