    I have some code: - count = 0 - @clients.each do |client| %div{:class => "grid_2#{(" alpha" if (count % 3) == 0) || (" omega push_2" if (count % 3) == 2) || " push_1"}"}= link_to h(client.name), client - count += 1 I want to output an opening div tag right after the each statement if the (count % 3) == 0 and out put the end tag at the end of the block if the (count % 3) == 2 but I can't figure out how to get HAML to do this. Any ideas?

    I'm getting started with RegEx and I was wondering if anyone could help me craft a statement to convert coordinates as follows: 145.00694,-37.80421,9 145.00686,-37.80382,9 145.00595,-37.8035,16 145.00586,-37.80301,16 to 145.00694,-37.80421 145.00686,-37.80382 145.00595,-37.8035 145.00586,-37.80301 (Strip off the last comma and value and turn it into a line break.) I can't figure out how to use wildcards to do something like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

    I'm a JavaScript programmer and new to PHP and MySQL (want to get into server-side coding). Because I'm trying to learn PHP by building a simple online game (more specifically, correspondence chess), I'm starting by implementing a simple user accounts system. Of course, user registration comes first. What are the best practices for: How I should handle the (likely) possibility that when a user tries to register, the username he has chosen is already in use, particularly when it comes to function return values?($result === true is rather ugly, and I'm not sure whether checking the MySQL error code is the best way to do it either) How to cleanly handle varying page titles?($gPageTitle = '...'; require_once 'bgsheader.php'; is also rather ugly) Anything else I'm doing wrong? In some ways, PHP is rather different from JavaScript... Here is a (rather large) excerpt of the code I have written so far.     I am executing the following SQL statement on an indexed SQL Server 2008 R2 database. SELECT * FROM mydatabase WHERE (CONTAINS(ColumnA,'"The Apple is red"')) The problem is that it returns too many entries. It also returns entries where 'ColumnA' contains only one of the words ('Apple' or 'is' or 'red'...) and not only the entries which contains the exact phrase. I've try my effort to change it and test on it,and find out when I set the var compSpec = document.compChooser as a local variable inside the function instead of a global variable,the next statement could be executed. But I thought for a global variable,it is accessible in everywhere on the page and also inside a function.But why now I can't accesses it inside my function??Any idea?? Besides,I stumble upon a weird article while googling,it says that when a global variable is created,it is added to window object.I just curious why this happen??And what's the benefits and uses of it??     Is there any handy tool that can make updating tables easier? Usually I got an Excel file with the original value in one column and new value in another column. Then I write a formula in Excel to create the 'update' statement. Is there any way to simplify the updating task? I believe the approach in SQL server 2000 and 2005 would be different, so could we discuss them both? Thanks.

    Hi, I try to use the SQL statement SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY column via an PDO-Object in PHP. Problem is, that I always get an error (Call to a member function fetchall() on a non-object - that means, the query did not return a PDO-object) when using the names of all columnname EXCEPT for ID. When I query SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY ID it works. ID is the PRIMARY INTEGER KEY, all other columns are TEXT or NUMERIC, neither of them would works with the ORDER BY clause. Any ideas?
