  • Hiding Command Prompt with CodeDomProvider

    Hi All I've just got my own little custom c# compiler made, using the article from MSDN. But, when I create a new Windows Forms application using my sample compiler, the MSDOS window also appears, and if I close the DOS window, my WinForms app closes too. How can I tell the Compiler? not to show the MSDOS window at all?   • Best way to parse command line arguments in C#

    When building console applications that take parameters, you can use the arguments passed to Main(string[] args). In the past I've simply indexed/looped that array and done a few regular expressions to extract the values. However, when the commands get more complicated, the parsing can get pretty ugly. More recently, I built the world's simplest Backus-Naur Form parser in C# to parse the arguments. It does the job, but it also feels like overkill. So I'm interested in: Libraries that you use Patterns that you use Assume the commands always adhere to common standards such as answered here.

    Hi, I am writing a C program. It takes its arguments from commandLine. I want to change the commandLine arguments in the code. As they are defined as "const char *", I can not change them using "strcpy", "memcpy", ... Also, you know, I can not just change their type from "const char *" to "char *".   • How do I grep for entire, possibly wrapped, lines of code?

    When searching code for strings, I constantly run into the problem that I get meaningless, context-less results. For example, if a function call is split across 3 lines, and I search for the name of a parameter, I get the parameter on a line by itself and not the name of the function. For example, in a file containing ... someFunctionCall ("test", MY_CONSTANT, (some *really) - long / expression); grepping for MY_CONSTANT would return a line that looked like this: MY_CONSTANT, Likewise, in a comment block: ///////////////////////////////////////// // FIXMESOON, do..while is the wrong choice here, because // it makes the wrong thing happen ///////////////////////////////////////// Grepping for FIXMESOON gives the very frustrating answer: // FIXMESOON, do..while is the wrong choice here, because When there are thousands of hits, single line results are a little meaningless. What I would like to do is have grep be aware of the start and stop points of source code lines, something as simple as having it consider ";" as the line separator would be a good start. Bonus points if you can make it return the entire comment block if the hit is inside a comment. I know you can't do this with grep alone. I also am aware of the option to have grep return a certain number of lines of content. Any suggestions on how to accomplish under Linux? FYI my preferred languages are C and Perl. I'm sure I could write something, but I know that somebody must have already done this. Thanks!

However, when I attempt to install SQL Server on a machine that already has another instance with components I get the following error: *"A component that you have specified in the ADD_LOCAL property is already installed. To upgrade the existing component, refer to the template.ini and set the UPGRADE property to the name of the component."* I have also tried using the UPGRADE method as per the error message #define SQL_UPGRADE "UPGRADE=SQL_Engine INSTANCENAME=MYSQLINSTANCE" but get the following error: "SQL Server Setup cannot perform the upgrade because the component is not installed on the computer.     I can't figure how to have cmd.exe not interpret something like %PATH% as an environment variable. I know the question I asked is posted many time in this forum. And I have tired all of the solutions available, but no luck I may case I am trying to read a dat file which is basically a msg/feed file having more than 22000 Characters. Every line may or may not be of same length. My requirement is to convert the file to fixed line length character file. I have a logic that work well using vb script, however its pretty slow. I have checked with For f/ but no luck. The only delimiter I have is EOT, which i can see in Textpad but not in notepad. I have tried with \n, token=. Please help me in resolving the issue. I have to develop this patch with a friend of mine and we need to edit the same files on our computers (2-3 PCs). So, we want to use something like a collaborative editor and/or a version control system.     If I wanted to add, let's say, a new .lib to the build only if a particular #define was set, how would I do that? In the MSVC++ 2008 "Property Pages", you would simply add: Config Properties -> Linker -> Input -> Additional Dependencies, but I would like it if something like #define COMPILE_WITH_DETOURS was set, then the particular library would be added to the dependencies, otherwise it would be removed.   • Command line does not execute my parameters

    I have created a batch file to run an application automatically but it seems my CMD does not run it. I typed this (using notepad as an example): CMD /C "C:\notepad2\notepad2.exe" If I run this from Windows Vista it worked. But running this from Windows Server 2008 (64-bit) it just doesn't work. I even try using that line from the Run menu but no go. What do I do? My aim is to run a scheduled task that runs the batch file every now and then.

In ubuntu I might have an interaction like this: acomber@mail:~$ export MY_VAR=i686-linux acomber@mail:~$ echo $MY_VAR i686-linux acomber@mail:~$ echo "$MY_VAR" i686-linux But on RHEL: acomber@mail:~$ export MY_VAR=i686-linux acomber@mail:~$ echo $MY_VAR acomber@mail:~$ echo "$MY_VAR" i686-linux I know this is a ubuntu forum but why the difference? Why do I need to enclose in quotes on RH? There are no spaces in the variable name?

    i'm trying to install the adobe air sdk in linux. i unzip the package downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/products/air/tools/sdk/ into a folder "AdobeAIRSDK", and add the /bin folder into the PATH environment variable. but when i tried to run the adl, it gives me the following error: Error loading the runtime (/home/monuser/AdobeAIRSDK/bin/../runtimes/air/linux/Adobe AIR/Versions/1.0/Resources/nss3/None/libnss3.so: file too short) what's the problem here and how do i get it fixed?
