• Missing Required Gems - javan-whenever and cron job in rails

  Hi, I have finally managed to get javan-whenever gem working on my site5 server, and updating the crontab is quite easy, however whenever a cron job is run with the code that is generated, i get a "missing required gems" error where it lists about 8/10 of my gems. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what would the solution be. The funny thing is that when it outputs where my gems are, this is all correct, and the gems are loading fine from within my application. Cheers, Matenia

  i am trying to use viewpager from android support library v4 in intelli j currently i have android sdk 4.1 I copied android-support-v4.jar to my intellij android project under 'libs' in the project settings of intellij I webt to "Modules" = "MyModuleName" = dependencies tab, and add the android-support-v4.jar, by navigating the path to the libs/ folder under my own project I checked the 'export' besides this newly added jar file but i still can't use viewpager in my application i get a crash msg like java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start activity ComponentInfo{com.xxxx/com.xxxx.MyActivity}: android.view.InflateException: Binary XML file line #13: Error inflating class android.support.v4.view.ViewPager

  hi, in my application i have the playvideo page where video will play, below that i have the option for sharing the video like adding to favorite ,playlist and sending mail. when i click on any of the link the page is postbacking and video will start from the first. i place update panel for link button even though it is not working (video is playing from the first i.e., page is postbacking. can u help me. thank you

• How to get a heap dump of a Java process on Windows that's not running in a console

  I have a Java application that I run from a console which in turn exec's another Java process. I want to get a thread/heap dump of that child process. On Unix I could do a "kill -3 " but on Windows AFAIK the only way to get a thread dump is Ctrl-Break in the console. But that only gives me the dump of the parent process, not the child. Is there another way to get that heap dump?

  Do you ever use a separate table for "generating" artificial primary keys for DB (and why)? What I mean is to have a table with two columns, table name and current ID - with which you could get new "ID" for some table by simply locking the row with that table name, getting the current value of the key, increment it by one, and unlock the row. Why would you prefer this over standard integer identity column? P.S. The "idea" is from Fowlers Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture, btw...

  Hi, I'm considering to use WPF for an application running on an iX104 (unfortunately I don't have one of those yet). Do you guys think that this combination would be efficient enough? Or is WPF just to slow for such a machine, so better stick with WinForms? • How do I read and write to a file using threads in java?

  I'm writing an application where I need to read blocks in from a single file, each block is roughly 512 bytes. I am also needing to write blocks simultaneously. One of the ideas I had was BlockReader implements Runnable and BlockWriter implements Runnable and BlockManager manages both the reader and writer.
