  • Trying to setup android sdk on PC with windows XP

    When I start setup I get this message: XML verification failed for http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml. Error: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'sdk:sdk-repository'. Failed to fetch URL reason: Unknown Even when I force the download to use http nothing happens. I get no downloads etc for the SDK. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi. I am working on a android project and I need to connect the gPhone with the PC using UDP socket. The same operation, sending a message to from gPhone to the PC, returns different results in different time: Sometimes succeeded and sometimes throws a SocketExcepton(The system call was cancelled).     Hi, In blackberry, we use a timeout to get the location, so that if it doesnt retun location in that much time period, we get to know. But in Android, there is no concept of timeout, can anyone please tell the alternative, that we can find out that after this much time there is no location update from GPS. Thanks

    I have a free app published in Android market. I have lost the certificate used to sign the current version but I want to publish an updated version. Android market refuses to accept my upgrade because it is signed by a new certificate. I realize the users will have to uninstall the current version to get the upgrade but it's not clear how to get the updated version into the market so that the current users will find it.   • Intercepting touch events on activity and button on Android

    I have an Android activity with an ImageButton. I would like to execute some logic when the button is clicked and show a different image for the pressed state, but also receive the touch event on the activity. By default only the button receives the touch event. If I set the clickable attribute of the button to false then only the activity receives the touch event. What's the best way to receive the touch event in both the activity and the button?

  • Get Cell RSSI(Network Signal Strength) on Android 1.5

    Is there any way to retrieve the current cellular Signal Strength (RSSI) on Android 1.5? I know there's a way to listen for signal strength updates through the TelephonyManager, but this seems to only give a "state," not a numeric value. Is using the RSSI field on a neighboring cell fairly accurate? I'm guessing not, but I'm running out of ideas.

Whenever I edit and mark some events via the calendar app, it is stored in the database but if I edit the calendar.db from some outside source the changes made are not reflected in the calendar app. So my question is: Does the calendar app maintain a cache or some other form of database?
