Hi! I am creating site with php.
On localhost all works good.
On my hosting all looks good too, but on top of page i see "?". In my code these symbols are absent.
What is this?
The IP addresses logged in by the Drupal 6 core "Statistics" module are not being displayed by the AW statistics displayed by my hosting server (hostgator). I am not able to comprehend why and which statistics are more reliable ? Also I would request some light to be shed on the best practices to monitor a Drupal 6 website. Thanks for your help people.
Hi! I'm writing a little website (webapp) in php+codeigniter, I'd really like to make it open source (to attract collaborators and to have a free VCS hosting).
Is that a good practice?
This mine security?
Which are the best tools to change important data before uploading? (like config files with db names and passwords used for testing etc..)
I am using ankhsvn with VS2008. I am using a free repo hosting on the web. I am not using a svn client for this repo, but managing everything with ankhsvn (including adding solution file and project files to the new repo).
I want to add the svn:needs-lock preperty to these files. I wonder if I can do this task using ankhsvn, or if I need to get another svn client for this purpose.
Hi. I have an app that reads in a plist file from the resources folder. I have looked for about 5 hours for a solution to hosting my plist file on my freewebs acount and have the application update the plist file on launch. Can anyone help me please.
I will post my code if you ask. I am just not sure what you need to see now.
With the current issues with Network Solutions sites being hacked, I'm in need of a tool (preferably freeware) that I can install into my site and it will email me the second a file change/update occurs.
Any recommendations welcome :)
This site is on a shared server hosting package.
I develop websites using PHP and MySQL. What resources would a seasoned web developer recommend that would cover server-specific information relevant to the job of a developer.
If it helps, I work specifically with an Apache server (through my hosting company).
How to export / import database in mysql through comman line,
mysql system config ,
WAMPSERVER server installed .
OS WINDOWS
The advise for my local host , not an live hosting...
Thanks
I put the code
RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("md", "page1.html/{zxc}", "~/withmaster/page2.aspx");
at golbal Application_Start event .At masterpage link_event
Response.Redirect(Page.GetRouteUrl("md", new { zxc = "data" }));
Everything ok at local and iis7. The problem is that when i run this on the hosting
The access to requested URL has been denied.
Do i need some more thing to use url routing ...
Hi all, I just set up Mercurial on our main webserver, hosting repositories via hgwebdir.cgi. The problem I'm having now is when I run hg push from my local machine to the server's repository, it takes an absolutely ridiculous amount of time to push a very small directory, with only a single changeset. Is it possible that I've set something up wrong? I keep getting HTTP Error 502: Bad Gateway.
Thanks!
Does anybody know a clean PHP-based solution that can backup remote web sites using FTP?
Must haves:
Recursive FTP backups
Possible to run through a cron job
Easy to configure (easy adding of multiple sites)
Local storage of backup files is sufficient
Would be nice:
Backed up sites are stored as zip files
A nice interface to manage things
Provides notification when backup has succeeded or failed
Does incremental backups
Does MySQL Database backups
I need this to be PHP (or Perl) based because it's going to be used on shared hosting packages that do not allow usage of the standard GNU/Linux tools available.
I've got a couple of different projects that I'd like to post up as open source. I've been trying to decide which of the three big open-source project hosting sites makes the most sense, or if I should just host it myself.
Are there any inherent drawbacks or benefits to these three? Is there a "best" place to host a project? Do different sites make more sense for different kinds of projects?
Hi!
I would like to create some kind of open free "group" posting of photos with geotags
First I thought about Panoramio, but seems there is no API for photos upload.
By now I can see only two ways:
Flickr - there are groups but you have to approve group membership anyway, or use tags for grouping which is bad for maintenance
Custom server solution which will cost efforts and hosting
Can you suggest other free photo services with geotags functionality, or opensource solutions?
Thank you!
One of my friend's site's users getting this error.
Oops! This link appears to be broken in Google Chrome

Can he do something with their hosting to ensure users of his site will not get this error.
Since there are 1500+ questions for google-app-engine, I was wondering:
what are people actually using it for?
are they doing something for their companies or startups?
are they just playing around with it because "the cloud is cool"?
are they using it because it's the "java free hosting"?
(answers from actual GAE users are preferable, but logical assumptions from others are welcome)
Update: I was asking (as tagged) about the Java aspect of GAE.
I started a new project and created a local git repo with "git init" and now I have a few branches and everything works great.
However, since my webhosting company offers git hosting (details if you're curious), I'd like to push my entire repo to their servers to have a backup in the cloud in case something bad happens to my local repo.
How can I make the remote repo the "origin" since the repo was started locally?
I just got my free web hosting set up (trigoblocks.comuf.com), I connected via FileZilla FTP and uploaded my files. The error I get is "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/a3639879/public_html/header.php on line 1".
Header.php line 1-2:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
I do not get this error while on localhost with XAMPP.
If someone is hosting something in Azure and a new KB comes along and requires the .net framework to be updated, how is this handled in Azure? Do they automatically update it for you or give you the option to remain at the older version?
I'm more interested in how the versioning is handled, rather than uptime etc. Do they force you to stay at the most up to date version of a given version number? As in, the most up to date version of 3.5, etc.
I am creating a social networking site and one of the requirements is to have the subdomain like URL for each user. For example, for the user1 his profile page will be user1.mysitename.com and for the user2 profile page will be user2.mysitename.com.
Can it be done using url aliasing? basically user1.mysitename.com should be www.mysitename.com/profile.aspx?username=user1
I will be hosting this in windows 2003 (IIS6), any help is highly appreciated.
HI,
I used to have PHP websites and using url rewriting on picture to have SEO friendly urls,
On php I had links like
/image/blablablabla-1234-blablabla
rewriting to:
/image/1234.jpg
by using a url rewrite rule on apache .htaccess file.
Now I totally switched to ruby on rails and I would like to know what is the best way to do that on RoR? I am hosting websites on apache with passenger.
Thanks in advance
So I am from the UK and have hosting in the US.
I contacted my host and said that my server time is set 6 hours behind GMT.
They said I need to alter this in my CMS.
How would i go about doing this?
Whenever i put now() i am getting the wrong time.
Never seen this before, could anyone offer any suggestions?
Lately I've asked this question. But the answer doesn't suit my demands, and I know that file hosting providers do manage to limit the speed. So I'm wondering what's the general algorithm/method to do that (I do mean downloading technique).
Is it possible to require the user be authenticated (logged in) when downloading ZIP files from my site? Note that I don't have direct control of IIS7. (I'm on a shared hosting account.)
I can't simply alter the access for a particular directory because many directories are involved and most contain other files that can be accessed freely.
I've Googled this a bit and found similar questions. But I've been unable to find this exact question.
I need to dinamicaly generate pdf from html, but i have PDF Support disabled on my hosting, so is it possible to do without PDFlib GmbH library.
Thanks
Is there any lightweight mvc webframework which is not necessary to install to the server?
I need something simple, that i could just copy to the shared hosting. And it must handle urls other that localhost/test.py, something like this localhost/Blog/test
