  • PHP MySQL JavaScript or AJAX Image Slideshow

    Hi all, i have searched Google and also searched Stack Overflow to no avail. I am looking for a PHP / MySQL driven dynamic image slideshow. One similar to 'lightcyclers.com', i have information stored in the DB and i just want to display random or popular content etc. I am also not interested in coding one myself as i am busy working on other features.     HI.I searched this question inform and I found solution to change column property Unique Index.Now If I try to insert same record cmd.ExecuteNonQuery() gives error that record exist ,but how can use this exception to give user a message that record exist and must enter new one ? I am trying to make some thing like if(cmd.ExecuteNonQuery() !=true ) { MessageBox.Show("User Exists"); } But I dont know what returns cmd.ExecuteNonQuery() ? Or I must get records using reader in table and compare them with text in Textfiel?

    When I am grabbing data from my table that require permissions, should all the permission be done there? Such as checking for an admin or if they can view the data (in MySQL)? Or should I grab it if they have a record at all, then check the specific actions (such as view, add, edit, delete) on the PHP side?

  • passing LIMIT as parameters to MySQL sproc

    I'm creating a paging class and need to pass in two parameters to my MySQL stored procedure for the LIMIT clause. I'm passing them in as INTs and trying something like this SELECT * FROM `MyTable` LIMIT MyFirstParamInt, MySecondParamInt it gives me an error when I try and save the sproc though. Is there a way to do this that I'm just missing? Or am I going to have to EVAL the whole query and EXECUTE it?

    Is there a way to only show the items that are older than a certain date in a php mysql array? I'm using this query method and sorting by lastpost_cl: $query="SELECT * FROM properties ORDER BY lastpost_cl"; $result=mysql_query($query); $num = mysql_num_rows ($result); mysql_close(); and I was thinking the way of checking the time would be: if (time() <= strtotime($lastpost_cl)) { } How can I combine the two and only show lastpost_cl that are older that the current time?

After reading the docs it seems that you can change the format of the master on the fly. Will the slave automatically adapt to whatever type of binary log it is sent? Do I have to make any changes to the slave or master to get ready for switching or can I simply modify the binlog_format variable on the master?

I know that delete does not reclaim the memory space, but as i found in a description of DELETE command, inserts may reuse the space deleted In MyISAM tables, deleted rows are maintained in a linked list and subsequent INSERT operations reuse old row positions. I am interested if LOAD DATA command also reuses the deleted space? UPDATE I am also interested how the index space reclaimed?

    i am using mysql database i have a table called sales its primary key is sales_id ------------------------------------- sales_id | invoice_id | ------------------------------------- 1 | 147 2 | 148 3 | 150 for sales-id 3 the invoice is supposed to be 149. i want to know which numbers are missing from invoice_id (i start invoice_id is 147 and end invoice_id is 4497). The invoice_id had no relation with sales_id is it possible to know which numbers are missing from invoice_id, using some queries??
