Hello,
I'm on shared hosting and today i discovered there are some backdoor script.. in .htaccess and a php file.
So i went to check via FTP, cannot edit nor delete.
So i checked with direct admin.. the file permission(GUID, UID) is set by APACHE
while rest of file is set by my username,
So my question now is.. the trojan did this is originated from my computer or host side?
Hello
I have robots.txt that looks like this:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /system/
Disallow: /admin/
Disallow: /index.php
The obvious goal has been to prevent all the ugly URLs from being indexed, as they all begin with "/index.php".
But for some reason all URLs like /my-beautiful-sef-url-123 are listed under Crawl errors in Google Webmaster Tools with "URL restricted by robots.txt". (When I test such URL it yields Allowed for both Googlebot and Googlebot-Mobile.)
Can anyone help please?
We've been trying to assign a static IP address to an HP LaserJet 4250 Printer. When we click on the networking tab it asks for a username and password, however it says the admin user is Unauthorized.
We've tried IE 8, Firefox, and Chrome and have even updated the firmware to the latest version.
I can login to the local PC and connect to Exchange server - on the same physical network if i log into the domain i cannot connect to the Exchange server.
DNS / DHCP all functioning as expected. User has AD account with Domain Admin rights.
Quite confusing!
You are a System Admin/Consultant and you have to deploy an application working fine on dev machine, but as soon as you deploy it on the production machine it does not work. What is the silliest configuration mistake you ever made?
I created a ldap directory with a number of users and groups. When I query this directory from a remote server with:
ldapsearch -H ldap://ldap.myserver.net/ -x -vvvvvvv -b dc=myserver,dc=net -D cn=admin,dc=myserver,dc=net -W
I get all objects in the directory returned. The result finishes with the following:
# search result
search: 2
result: 0 Success
# numResponses: 85
# numEntries: 84
What do these numbers mean exactly?
In my registry, the entry "Start Page" under [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] was changed to some bad url. And I found that i don't have permission to modify the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main], only got a "everyone" user to access it. I cannot modify any entry below it even as an Admin.
Could anyone help? Thanks.
I want to keep a CSS file in my PC but want to link that file in website and whatever changes I will do in local file that changes should reflect in site.
I'm not logged in as Admin in my PC. Is it possible?
I need any online/offline method Compatible with Windows XP 32 bit
I'm not a sys-admin, but sometimes I play one at work.
I've inherited a virtual server that had MySQL installed from source. I'm gathering as much information about the install as I can (original people who installed it are, of course, not a resource).
How can I find
The default/current location of the MySQL binary files (often stored in a directory named data?)
Any default or custom loaded cnf files?
Looking for solutions that are a bit more sophisticated than a find / -iname '*.cnf' :)
I have been searching google for hours trying to find out whether different virtual servers in glassfish 3.1 could contain different contents.
For example there are two virtual servers named VS1 and VS2. I added a sample application on VS1. Is the sample application I added on VS1 can be edited or seen on the admin console of VS2?
In this feature possible in glassfish?
Any help will be appreciated.
I'm trying to create a registry key with a batch file. I really need to be able to do this via a batch rather than a VBscript or .reg file.
So far by using this guide, I've come up with this. but whenever I try to run it, I don't see it in the registry. (No errors, running as Admin) What am I doing wrong?
REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList /v "MyCustomWorkgroupUsername" /t REG_DWORD /d 0
I have an Domain account with admin priviliges and I need to use that account to run the Hyper-v Machine Management Service. my goal is to use that domain account to create VMs using ISO files that are in a different server within the same domain. I was told that if I use the local account to do this things may not work.
How do I run the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management Service under a domain account?
I'm not sure how to ask this question, since I'm not in the field. Say you're a network admin and you leave your job. How does the new guy know where to start?
I was trying to find where Electrum stored its wallet files, so I went to C:\ and entered wallet.dat in the search bar (top right), which is supposed to search through the entire C drive (right?), but it didn't find anything.
Later, I manually found the wallet.dat file in C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Electrum_SysFiles\1.1\C_\ElectrumPY. Searching for wallet.dat in C:\ still comes up empty. Why is this?
Given two TFS security groups
Admins: Contains a set of Windows users
Friends: Contains a Windows Security Group (which is also used as a mailing list)
However, the people listed as admins are also part of the security group. It appears that when I lock down the Friends group to certain directories in TFS, the people in Admin also lose their privileges.
Is there any way for users to receive the maximum security allowed between multiple groups they are included in? Or have I perhaps setup my TFS security groups incorrectly?
For an Microsoft Exchange server, is it possible to encrypt the email database such that the sysadmin cannot see the emails?
In other words, the admin would be responsible for all aspects of running the Windows server and Exchange process, but would not be able to see the contents of any one email (except those sent to him, obviously). Only another individual (e.g. company owner) would be able to see all emails contained in the database.

I installed Skype when logged on to the (local) admin account. Now, when I log off that, and log on as myname on the domain, I have to click through the intial setup steps (after you've already run the installer) of Skype. So, I have to click next to get through the mic setup/test, and it asks me if I want to take a pic.
How do I get it so that any person who logs in can just open Skype and go straight to the login screen?

Hello guys.
I just formatted my system and I'm having some problems in cleaning up stuff.
I had 2 partitions, formated C: and left with D:
Installed Win7 and I want to delete some of these folders in D:, but it's denying me permission, altought I'm the admin.
How can I clear these old permissions?
Thanks!
What is the best price, best value, for Linux VPS hosting in British Columbia, Canada?

I have solr setup with Jetty on my Ubuntu server.
On any computer now, I can type my_ip:8983/solr/ and the page will show upp to anybody.

How can I manage a domain with the "Active Directory Users and Computers" from a computer that is not on that domain? I realize I'll need some domain admin (or less) credentials, but that's fine.
I have 2 scenarios where I'd like to do this:
From a machine on Domain 1 but I'd also like to manage Domain 2 (the 2 domains are in no way related)
From a laptop that is not a member of any domain.
If we can figure out #2, that will be "good enough" but #1 would be nice too.
We have IIS7 servers sitting behind an nginx reverse proxy.
The reverse proxy is sending the standard "HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR" header with the visitor IP address, but IIS7 logging is only logging the IP address of the nginx server (which makes sense, but it's not what I want).
How can I tell IIS7 to instead log the "HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR" header (or additionally log it)?
(note: I'm a linux admin, not a windows one, so explicit instructions & links are sincerely appreciated)
