  My extension works on an application, which requires user login. Once the user has logged in, I need to read the cookies and use them in my XMLHttpRequests. So initially I need to check if the cookie is set, if not, I direct the user to the login page. Once logged in, I need to read the cookies and send it as part of my further requests. How do I read cookies from a XMLHttpRequest or otherwise (if we don't even know the name of the cookie) There is to function as getRequestHeader.. but what I need is something like that.

• VBScript Catching Erroring Varialble Value

  I have a VB Script (.vbs file) that is just a simple directory listing of a drive. It will the base of a drive back up script. But when running it as it is below, I am getting a Permission Denied error on some folder. What I need to find is what that folder is so I can figure out what the problem is with the folder. The line that is giving the error is "For Each TempFolder In MoreFolders". So what I am trying to figure out is how to WScript.Echo the current path (objDirectory) if there is an error. I am not sure if it matters much, but just in case, the error that I am getting is Permission Denied 800A0046 on line 12. So some folder, I do not know which one, is not letting me look inside.   There is a column in database which contains comma seperated values like: 0.00,12.45,14.33 and so on. I need to sum this inside a stored procedure. One way which I can think of is to split and convert it into a table using a function and then sum it. Any other ideas?

• Decimal Value is Zero when it should be 0.0x

  If this was previously talked about, I'm sorry, I had a hard time searching on this. I am calculating a depreciation rate. One portion of our calculation is 1/life in months. My table stores this data in a decimal field. I tried test = 1 / estimatedLife; but the result of the calculation of test (which is defined as a decimal) is 0. Say the estimated life is 36 months. So 1/36 should equal 0.02777778. Any thoughts of what I am doing wrong? BTW, I changed the test to a double and had the same result.

  Hi, i'm buidling a very simple email based website that users can, when registering list out all the stocktickers they're intersted in following. The program then on a daily basis goes and fetches that information and sends it out to every user. i have the portion which fetchs the information from the stock websites, but i'm looking for an "infrastructure" that allows: (a) a user to send an email to [email protected] with the subject "Subscribe" and with the body containing stockticker values, (b) user to send email to service@... with subject "unsubscribe" and body containing similar values. Looking for code in php please. Any insights?

  The IETF recommends to use base64 encoding for binary cookie values. http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-httpstate-cookie-07 So I use setrawcookie(..) but I don't know what variable to use to get the cookie back because $_COOKIE[..] still uses the URL decoding that matches setcookie(..).   I have created a Money class to save money values in different currencies. The class uses 3 letter ISO symbols to store currency types: public class Money { public decimal Amount { get; set; } public string Currency { get; set; } } Is there a way in C# to use this information, say 100.00 USD, and format it as "$100.00"? Only way I know of requires CultureInfo like this: Amount.ToString("C", CultureInfo.CreateSpecificCulture("en-US")); However this does not work with my Money class. Is there another solution? I am open to changing my Money class. I have searched this site for similar questions (such as this), but couldn't find one that answers the above question.

• Asp.Net Cache, modify an object from cache and it changes the cached value

  Hi, I'm having an issue when using the Asp.Net Cache functionality. I add an object to the Cache then at another time I get that object from the Cache, modify one of it's properties then save the changes to the database. But, the next time I get the object from Cache it contains the changed values. So, when I modify the object it modifies the version which is contained in cache even though I haven't updated it in the Cache specifically. Does anyone know how I can get an object from the Cache which doesn't reference the cached version? i.e. Step 1: Item item = new Item(); item.Title = "Test"; Cache.Insert("Test", item, null, DateTime.Now.AddHours(1), System.Web.Caching.Cache.NoSlidingExpiration); Step 2: Item item = (Item)Cache.Get("test"); item.Title = "Test 1"; Step 3: Item item = (Item)Cache.Get("test"); if(item.Title == "Test 1"){ Response.Write("Object has been changed in the Cache."); } I realise that with the above example it would make sense that any changes to the item get reflected in cache but my situation is a bit more complicated and I definitely don't want this to happen.

  I’m trying to build a simple application that will recognize the values of two 6-sided dice. I’m looking for some general pointers, or maybe even an open source project. The two dice will be black and white, with white and black pips respectively. Their distance to the camera will always be the same, but their position on the playing surface will be random. (not the best example, the surface will be a different color and the shadows will be gone) I have no prior experience with developing this kind of recognition software, but I would assume the trick is to first isolate the faces by searching for the square profile with a dominating white or black color (the rest of the image, i.e. the table/playing surface, will in distinctly different colors), and then isolate the pips for the count. Shadows will be eliminated by top down lighting. I’m hoping the described scenario is so simple (read: common) it may even be used as an “introductory exercise” for developers working on OCR technologies or similar computer vision challenges.

• Problem inserting android.text.format.Time.toMillis value into SQLite DB on droid

  I'm writing an app for Android OS, and I need to store some time values in the SQLite DB. I have been using android.text.format.Time to store the time values in the app, and then inserting the values as millis into the DB as REAL values. On the SDK emulator, everything works perfectly. On the sole phone I've had the opportunity to test my app (so far), my duration code doesn't work as expected. Some relevant code: private static final String DATABASE_CREATE = "create table " + DATABASE_TABLE + " (" + KEY_ROWID + " integer primary key autoincrement, " + KEY_START + " REAL, " + KEY_STOP + " REAL, " + KEY_DUR + " REAL );"; ... private SQLiteDatabase mDb; ContentValues timerValues = new ContentValues(); ... timerValues.put(KEY_START, stime.toMillis(false)); timerValues.put(KEY_STOP, etime.toMillis(false)); timerValues.put(KEY_DURATION, stime.toMillis(false)-etime.toMillis(false)); int result = mDb.insert(DATABASE_TABLE, null, timerValues); I pull this data from two separate functions with slightly different bits of code, both using Time.set(long millis), both giving incorrect results: The start and stop values come back correct, but the duration comes out 17 hours too large. Am I missing something about calculating durations or does this just seem like there's something "special" about this particular droid? I'll have another droid to test on Monday, but any ideas are appreciated.

  Here is a list of blittable types. It contains Int32 and Int64. But I don't see just plain "int" on the list. How does C# treat the plain "int" type? Does it just get replaced with Int32 or Int64 depending on the system? Or is there a subtle difference? Will using "int" ever cause a performance hit for marshalling?
