• How to determine what the Seemingly Unrelated Regression error means in R

  I'm using the systemfit() function to conduct a seemingly unrelated regression and am getting the following error: Error in solve(sigma, tol = solvetol) : Lapack routine dsptrf returned error code 1 Yet, I'm unable to find the meaningful interpretation of what the error suggests is going on. Below is some simulated code that works to show what functions I'm using (the simulated code does not produce an error). • Delphi 7 compile error - “Duplicate resource(s)” between .res and .dfm

  I got a very similar error to the one below: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/97800/how-can-i-fix-this-delphi-7-compile-error-duplicate-resources However, the error I got is this: [Error] WARNING. Duplicate resource(s): [Error] Type 10 (RCDATA), ID TFMMAINTQUOTE: [Error] File P:\[PATH SNIPPED]\Manufacturing.RES resource kept; file FMaintQuote.DFM resource discarded. Manufacturing.res is the default resource file (application is called Manufacturing.exe), and FMainQuote is one of the forms. .dfm files are plain text files, so I'm not sure what resources is being duplicated, how to find it and fix it? If I tried to compile the project again, it works OK, but the exe's icon is different to the one I've set in Project Options using the "Load Icon" button. The icon on the app is some sort of bell image that I don't recognize.

• Jquery ajax request error callback is called instead of success even after response recieved from server

• svnlook always returns an error and no output

When this program run, SVN displays svnlook exited with error 0xC0000135. Current output is: empty I looked up the error 0xC0000135 and it mean App failed to initialize properly although it wasn't specific to svnhook. Why is svnlook help not returning anything? Does it fail when executed through another process?

At first I thought that all magic in that example happened because of object being placed in $error by iteration implements __toString() but it seems no iterations happens at all...

• Android bluetooth socket error

  I am using backport bluetooth api on android 1.6. I am using Google Bluetooth Chat sample app for testing. The app works fine in normal scenarios. In a scenario, when I try to connect to paired device which is in off state, I get following error. 01-04 09:00:11.629: ERROR/BluetoothEventLoop.cpp(84): onGetRemoteServiceChannelResult: D-Bus error: org.bluez.Error.ConnectionAttemptFailed (Host is down) 01-04 09:00:11.729: DEBUG/dalvikvm(128): GC freed 4535 objects / 256008 bytes in 296ms 01-04 09:00:21.880: ERROR/bluetooth_RfcommSocket.cpp(1433): connect error: Host is down (112) But it sets the state as connected. The app is unable to catch the exception. Why does it happen? Or is it the case with backport api? Any help is appreciated as I am struggling a lot to get things run fine.

• No virtual console on ubuntu 12.10

  When I try to do a ctr-alt f(1-6) in ubuntu 12.10 I only get a black screen with a blinking cursor but no login prompt. Any ideas on what could be wrong? • VB6 debugging- doesn't go to error handling code.

  Hi, I'm maintaining a vb6 project(ActiveX DLL). Although I didn't put any break point there, the app stopped there and alerted error dialog saying that "Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method". We had error handling code but the app didn't run to error handling code. It just stopped at the line causing the error and I had to stop the application. Do you have any idea about that?   In VB6, users occasionally receive this error and I am unable to reproduce it. Run-Time Error '5': Invalid Procedure Call or Argument I am referencing the "MSWord 10 Object Library" and sometimes this error occurs at some point after the application has opened MSWord 2002. However, this app has referenced the MSWord 10 Object Library for years, and this error just started occurring in the last few months. I am assuming I have introduced a bug somewhere, but no idea what might be causing it. The error does not occur very often and cannot be reproduced by a user when I am standing there. The error forces the app to totally shut down. Users are running Windows XP

• I can't update my system properly, "no package header" error

  Every time I try to run sudo apt-get update or try running updates from the GUI interface I run into the following problem or something similar: Reading package lists... Error! E: Encountered a section with no Package: header E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_precise_restricted_binary-i386_Packages E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. I've tried purging using sudo rm -rf <filename> where <filename> is the listed file above, and then running sudo apt-get update to fix it (as listed elsewhere in this forum) and no luck, just keep getting this message. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and this is getting really frustrating... I just want a system that runs smoothly and doesn't require it's hand to be held when it comes to updates. • Doesn't boot after installation

  Downloaded Ubuntu 12.04.1-alternate-amd64 Installed to USB stick Integrity check fails on ./install/netboot/ubuntu-installer/amd64/pxelinux.cfg/default but that seems to be a known bug where the file isn't included in the alternative 64-bit ISO and shouldn't affect installation. I ignore it and proceed on. For partitioning on 2 SSD Drives: Partition 300MB and 63GB on both RAID1 the 300MB and 63GBs Set the 300MB to EXT4 on /boot Encrypt the rest as MD1 and set it for LVM Create two volumes from MD1: 4GB swap and 59GB to / I go through the installation and get to the point where it says everything is ready and to take the media out so as to boot from the drives I receive the error "Error: No video mode activated." on startup I've read that this can be solved by running "cp /usr/share/grub/*.pf2 /boot/grub" and then updating grub but I can't get to a place where I can actually run this command. In rescue mode I can get to a shell from installer with /boot mounted to /target. So from there I can run "cp /cdrom/boot/grub/font.pf2 /target/grub/" but can't figure out a way to get it to update grub after that or know how what to change in manually updating the grub.cfg file. If I try other devices to mount the root filesystem I get the error "An error occurred while mounting the device you entered for your root file system". It just sits on the video mode error and doesn't progress further. Googling around it seems like people see the error briefly before it continues booting, not getting stuck on it the way I am which leads me to believe that error may be unrelated to Ubuntu not booting. So any ideas as to what I should try next or what needs to be done to install Ubuntu and get it to boot would be helpful.

• Ubuntu doesn't boot after adding a bootflag to the Windows partition

  I have Ubuntu 10.10 installed on one (physical) hd and on the other one Windows. On both drives grub is installed to boot both operating systems. When I wanted to install SP1 for Win 7 I had to add a bootable flag to the partition from which Windows boots, otherwise the installation of SP1 does not work. I did so by booting into Ubuntu and using gparted to add this flag. After doing so the update for SP1 worked without any problems. When trying to boot back into Ubuntu grub complained that it couldn't find the kernel anymore! I tried to boot into a Ubuntu minimal cd and to restore grub using chroot, update-grub and grub-install which didn't work. I still had the problem that it was Unable to boot Ubuntu putting me in some minimal system called initramfs. It seems however that the uuid of the partitions changed. I guess this happened when I added the bootflag to the windows disk. Next thing I tried was to tell grub not to use the uuid for loading the kernel by uncommenting something in /etc/default/grub. Then I got the kernel booting but it suddenly stops (I guess when it is trying to mount the root file system) saying that the concerning uuid does not exist putting me into initramfs again. The strange thing is that there I coulnd't even manage to mount the root partition using /dev/sdb1 (on which it is in my case). I would be glad if there is a way to restore the system again without having to reinstall it.

• OpenGL textures trigger error 1281 if SFML is not called

  I am using SOIL to apply textures to VBOs, without textures i could change the background and display black (default color) vbos easily, but now with textures, openGL is giving an error 1281, the background is black and some textures are not applied. but the first texture IS applied (nothing else is working though). The strange thing is : if i create a dummy texture with SFML in the same program, all other textures do work. So i guess there is something i forgot in the texture creation/application, if someone could enlighten me.
