    Hey guys, quick question for any experts out there. I am allowing users to upload and post mp3s so other users can listen to/stream. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for reducing bandwidth, or any tips or methods for streaming mp3s. I currently just reference the location of the file with my flash mp3 player after the file has been uploaded. I would ask about images as well, but I am pretty sure they can be compressed using gzip or mod_deflate

  • Image upload and Manipulation in Django

    I am trying upload images and than create an thumbnail of it and than store both in S3. After the file has been uploaded i am first uploading it to S3 and than trying to create thumbnail but it doesn't work as than PIL is not able to recognise the image. And secondly if I create the thumbnail first than while uploading original image I get EOF. I think Django allows just once for the uploaded files to be used only once....Please kindly tell me a way to do so....Thanks in advance

    I am trying to attach an 8M .wav file to a "story" in drupal. I can attach similar smaller files, but when i try this one and larger sizes i get in HTTP Error 0 message after a minute or to. I have checked all my max upload, Max Mem sizes they are set at well over 8M at 64M and 256M. Anyone else have this issue uploading files ever?

    I have a control for uploading an image and above it is an image control. When User clicks 'Upload' button, image turns to an animated image displaying 'WAIT' message, after the image is uploaded, the image source changes to that image.     I need to allow users to upload files onto a server that has an antivirus program running with real-time scanning switched on. What would be a good design to ensure that infected files are not uploaded to the server. Questions - would large files be copied onto disk and then immediately scanned, or would they be scanned as they are copied and not allowed to appear on disk if infected Should i build a seperate infrastructure around this to specifically ionvoke a scan on the copied file ? this might be an issue if the file is deleted through the real-time scan
