  • XSD: xs:sequence & xs:choice combination for xs:extension elements of a common base type?

    Hi, My question is about defining an XML schema that will validate the following XML: <rules> <other>...</other> <bool>...</bool> <other>...</other> <string>...</string> <other>...</other> </rules> The order of the child nodes does not matter. The cardinality of the child nodes is 0..unbounded. All the child elements of the rules node have a common base type, rule, like so: <xs:complexType name="booleanRule"> <xs:complexContent> <xs:extension base="rule"> ... </xs:extension> </xs:complexContent> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="stringFilterRule"> <xs:complexContent> <xs:extension base="filterRule"> ... </xs:extension> </xs:complexContent> </xs:complexType> My current (feeble) attempt at defining the schema for the rules node is below. However, Can I nest xs:choice within xs:sequence? If, where do I specify the maxOccurs="unbounded" attribute?   • representing an XML config file with an IXmlSerializable class

    I'm writing in C# and trying to represent an XML config file through an IXmlSerializable class. I'm unsure how to represent the nested elements in my config file, though, such as logLevel: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <logging> <logLevel>Error</logLevel> </logging> <credentials> <user>user123</user> <host>localhost</host> <password>pass123</password> </credentials> <credentials> <user>user456</user> <host>my.other.domain.com</host> <password>pass456</password> </credentials> </configuration> There is an enum called LogLevel that represents all the possible values for the logLevel tag. The tags within credentials should all come out as strings. In my class, called DLLConfigFile, I had the following: [XmlElement(ElementName="logLevel", DataType="LogLevel")] public LogLevel LogLevel; However, this isn't going to work because <logLevel> isn't within the root node of the XML file, it's one node deeper in <logging>. How do I go about doing this? As for the <credentials> nodes, my guess is I will need a second class, say CredentialsSection, and have a property such as the following: [XmlElement(ElementName="credentials", DataType="CredentialsSection")] public CredentialsSection[] AllCredentials; Edit: okay, I tried Robert Love's suggestion and created a LoggingSection class.   • is it possible that a greasemonkey script can work on one computer but not on another?

  • scala: Adding attributes (odd and even rows) to xml table

    In a Lift application, I’d like to add a special tag which takes the <tbody> part of the next table and adds odd and even classes (for example) to each <tr> tag. Alternating, of course. While I have found a way to add another attribute to all <tr> tags, there are still a few problems left (see code below). First, it doesn’t work. cycle.next is called too often, so in the end, everything is an odd row. Other problems are that the code doesn’t exclude inner tables (so a nested <tr> would be transformed as well) and that it also affects the <thead> part of the table. Ideas to make this code work?   • AuthenticationForm - cookie cross site

    I've 2 web site, the first one myFirst.domain.com and the second one mySecondSite.domain.com. They stay on two different web server and my goal is allow a cross site authentication (my real need is shared authenticationForm Cookie). I've correctly setted web config (machine key node, forms node). The only different is about loginUrl where on myFirstSite appears like "~/login.aspx", instead on mySecondSite it appears like "http://myFirstSite.com/login.aspx". Note that I've not a virtual directory, I've just 2 different web apps. The problem: When I reach myFirstSite login page from mySecondSite I never get redirect from login page, it seems like if cookie doesn't being written.   • How to reflect over T to build an expression tree for a query?

    Hi all, I'm trying to build a generic class to work with entities from EF. This class talks to repositories, but it's this class that creates the expressions sent to the repositories. Anyway, I'm just trying to implement one virtual method that will act as a base for common querying. Specifically, it will accept a an int and it only needs to perform a query over the primary key of the entity in question. I've been screwing around with it and I've built a reflection which may or may not work. I say that because I get a NotSupportedException with a message of LINQ to Entities does not recognize the method 'System.Object GetValue(System.Object, System.Object[])' method, and this method cannot be translated into a store expression. So then I tried another approach and it produced the same exception but with the error of The LINQ expression node type 'ArrayIndex' is not supported in LINQ to Entities. I know it's because EF will not parse the expression the way L2S will. Anyway, I'm hopping someone with a bit more experience can point me into the right direction on this.   • Drupal - Hide a single page from search index

    Hi, I've taken over an existing Drupal installation and have been asked to remove a single page from the site search results. I know about the lullabot tutorial through this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1748837/hide-drupal-nodes-from-search, but that talks about excluding a class of content when I really just want to exclude a single page. I've tried manually deleting the node from the search_index table, but that didn't seem to work either. Any recommendations for excluding a single regular content page from the search index?

  • Prevent <xsi:nil="true"> on Nullable Value Types when Serializing to XML.

    I have added some nullable value types to my serializable class. I perform a serialization using XmlSerializer but when the value is set to null, I get an empty node with xsi:nil="true". This is the correct behaviour as I have found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ybce7f69%28VS.80%29.aspx Is there a way to switch off this option so that nothing is output when the value type is null?
