I am looking for good, objective ideas and examples of a resume for a Software Engineer. By all means, post a link to your own resume if you are comfortable with doing so.
Mostly I am looking at how it should be formatted and what kind of information should be included (and in what order on the resume.)
I'm working with a shell account in a shared system and I would like to use some version control software for my bash scripts and config files.
It must works on Linux with no dependencies, just unpack it in my home dir. I don't need remote checkout, branching or other fancy tricks. I want to be able to commit my changes and restore them if needed.

Hello every body.
My current career is software testing, but I feel that iam wasting my time, may be because I dont know the future path of this carrer, and to where will I arrive in the future if I continue in this carrer. And I dont know how can I develop my self in this career. And can I have my own job in this field? Please give me good suggestions and openion.

I'm a software developer with a BS in Computer Science. I've been working in the field for 5 years, and I'm looking to develop my project leadership skills (I'm currently not a lead). Does anyone have any suggestions as to which schools / programs I can do? A masters is probably out of the question, due to the time required (and my not so good verbal score on my GRE). A shorter course would be preferable.
I really like how 37signals created a simplified Q&A site (i.e. simplified StackExchange)
http://answers.37signals.com/basecamp
Does anyone know of a free, self-hosted, open-source software implementation that is similar to simplified functionality of 37signals implementation of a Q&A site?
Is there a remote control software or a http-server available, which has a queue implemented, so that one after another client has the chance to control the screen on the host?
Thanks a lot
I'm selling software online and would love to know what everyone else is using for licensing and protection. I know Armadillo is popular, as is EXECrypter, but what else is out there?

I know of Adobe Browser Lab only, and it seems pretty new... Is there any better SW out there?
Thanks
PS: I have a classifieds website (PHP, MySql, Solr, js) developed on local computer using virtual server etc... Now I need to test it on different browsers. It is developed only with Firefox, so it works fine in FF.
The article in Wikipedia seems too verbose.
I understand framework as a well designed set of libraries and tools. The Qt framework provides a set of libraries/tools for cross platform GUIs. The cocoa framework does the same thing for Mac.
What's the practical definition of software framework?
I developed a custom made (.EXE) application to scan document using TWAIN and would like this software to be part of the list of scanners that appear in the Events tab within the Scanners properties window.
does anyone have an idea how this can be achieved?
Could someone recommend a good and inexpensive software synthesizer which generates really good piano sound (sample-based); support for other instruments is not required. OS: Windows or MacOS. Java interface would be a great asset.
A small change in a 1000's of lines of code leads to running the ./configure again on the entire software.
Is there any alternative, where we can compile only the changed file and the files associated with it?
I need to develop a multiplatform software that takes screenshots from opengl games without affecting the game in performance, it will run in the background and will add a watermark to my screenshots.
What language should i use? I thought of Perl / Python.
Anyone can point me out something to start?
Thanks!

or another.
Everybody say Zend Guard. But you can decode/decript zend's files at the page http://www.showmycode.com/
I think, SourceGuardian is good. But I'm not so sure.
I'm looking for real world examples of needing read and write access to the same value in concurrent systems.
In my opinion, many semaphores or locks are present because there's no known alternative (to the implementer,) but do you know of any patterns where mutexes seem to be a requirement?
In a way I'm asking for candidates for the standard set of HARD problems for concurrent software in the real world.

How does one go about properly analyzing the requirements of a client in terms of software and writing down a list of functionalities? Feel free to share your own experiences.
