  • Adding AJAX call to function triggered popup blocker

    - by jerrygarciuh
    Hi folks, I have a client who wants to open variously sized images in a centered popup. I tried to get them to use FancyBox but they don't want interstitial presentation, so... I initially was opening a generic popup which resized and centered onload based on image size but they don't like the shift so I added a PHP script to echo the sizes and used jQuery to fetch the size info to feed into the pop up call. But it appears the delay this causes is setting off all popup blockers. Here is the JS $("#portfolioBigPic").click(function () { var src = $("#portfolioBigPic").attr('src'); var ar = src.split('/'); var fname = ar.pop(); fname = '/g/portfolio/clients/big/' + fname; $.get("imgsize.php", { i: fname}, function(data){ var dim = data.split(","); popit(fname,dim[0],dim[1]); }); }); function popit(img,w,h) { var features = 'width='+w+',height='+h+', toolbar=0, location=0, directories=0, status=0, menubar=0, scrollbars=0, resizable=1,'; var left = (screen.width/2)-(w/2); var top = 0; features += 'top='+top+',left='+left; bigpic = window.open('portfolioBigPic.php?img='+img, 'bigpic',features); bigpic.focus(); } The only difference between dodging the blockers and failing is that I added the AJAX .get and use it to specify w and h. Any thoughts on how to avoid this? Maybe I should use PHP to get widths and heights of all the big pics and write a JS array of them when this page loads? Am I right that the delay caused by fetching the data is tripping the blockers? Thoughts? Any advice much appreciated. JG

  • identation control while developing a small python like language

    - by sap
    Hello, Im developing a small python like language using flex, byacc (for lexical and parsing) and C++, but i have a few questions regarding scope control. just as python it uses white spaces (or tabs) for identation, not only that but i want to implement index breaking like for instance if you type "break 2" inside a while loop thats inside another while loop it would not only break from the last one but from the first loop as well (hence the number 2 after break) and so on. example: while 1 while 1 break 2 end end #after break 2 it would jump right here but since i dont have an "anti" tab character to check when a scope ends (like C for example i would just use the '}' char) i was wondering if this method would the the best: i would define a global variable, like "int tabIndex" on my yacc file that i would access in my lex file using extern. then everytime i find a tab character on my lex file i would increment that variable by 1. when parsing on my yacc file if i find a "break" keyword i would decrement by the amount typed after it from the tabIndex variable, and when i reach and EOF after compiling and i get a tabIndex != 0 i would output compilation error. now the problem is, whats the best way to see if the identation got reduced, should i read \b (backspace) chars from lex and then reduce the tabIndex variable (when the user doesnt use break)? another method to achieve this? also just another small question, i want every executable to have its starting point on the function called start() should i hardcode this onto my yacc file? sorry for the long question any help is greatly appretiated. also if someone can provide an yacc file for python would be nice as a guideline (tried looking on google and had no luck). thanks in advance.

  • Alternatives to HtmlTextWriter in a System.Web.UI.Control?

    - by Marco Bettiolo
    Hi, Can you use FluentHTML or other alternatives in an web application user control? Can you put a markup file in a System.Web.UI.Control like the System.Web.UI.UserControl but without the burden of the Page object? I would like to reduce the number of lines of the following code: writer.Write(SacrificalMarkupPage.GenerateControlMarkup(new DialogConfirm())); writer.AddAttribute("class", string.Format("ajaxResponse {0}", action)); writer.RenderBeginTag("div"); writer.RenderBeginTag("h4"); writer.WriteEncodedText("Delete selected item?"); writer.RenderEndTag(); //h4 var queryString = new HttpQueryString { {"confirmed", "true"}, {"src", urlReferer.PathAndQuery} }; writer.AddAttribute("href", queryString.MakeQueryString(url).PathAndQuery); writer.AddAttribute("class", "delete"); writer.RenderBeginTag("a"); writer.WriteEncodedText("Yes"); writer.RenderEndTag(); //a.delete writer.WriteEncodedText(" | "); writer.AddAttribute("href", urlReferer.PathAndQuery); writer.AddAttribute("class", "back"); writer.RenderBeginTag("a"); writer.WriteEncodedText("No"); writer.RenderEndTag(); //a.back writer.RenderEndTag(); //div.ajaxResponse.ACTION Thanks

  • Why AQTime slows execution even when profiling is not on, and can anything be done for it?

    - by Antti Suni
    Hi! In AQTime for Delphi, it boasts to be very fast to get to the trouble spots by using areas and triggers etc. But it seems to me, that especially if you have very much code in the areas to profile, then the execution slows down dramatically even when the profiling is NOT on. For example, if I want to profile a specific routine late in the program flow, but don't know what is called there, I'd think to put this routine only as a trigger and the initial status for threads as Off, and then choose "Full check by Routines/Lines". However, when I do this, the program execution slows down heavily already before the trigger routine has ever been hit. For example if the "preparation flow" takes around 5 minutes without AQTime, then when I run it with profiling disabled, it already has been running for 30 minutes and still goes even when I know the trigger has not yet even been reached. I know I can try to workaround this by reducing the amount of routines/lines profiled, but it is not really a good solution for me, since I'd like to profile all of them once I get to the actual trigger routine. Also another, often better workaround is to start the application without AQTime and then use Attach to Process after the "preparation flow" has finished, but this works well only when the execution pauses in GUI in the proper place or otherwise provides a suitable time frame for doing the attaching. In all cases this is not the case. Any comments on why this is so and is there anything else to do than just try to reduce the code from the areas or attach later to the process?

  • Feasibility of using Silverlight for web and windows client with common code base for data intensive

    - by Kabeer
    Hello. Recently in a conversation, someone suggested me to make use of Silverlight if I am targeting a web client and a windows client for the same application. This will cut down my effort for supporting the contrast in both presentation layers. Mine is a product, that will be deployed in enterprises. Both web and windows clients are desirable. With the above context, I have few queries: Is it advisable to adopt the recommended approach and whether this approach is becoming a trend? Besides, some configuration & deployment tweaking, will this significantly reduce effort on the presentation layer? Is there a possibility that my future prospects (for this product) will resist Silverlight footprint? Will I be able to make use of the ASP.Net MVC pattern? Will there be any performance implication for the web client? Will Silverlight support incremental load of controls? If my back-end includes SSRS, will I be able to harness all its front end features with Silverlight? Will I be able to support additional devices with same code base in future? Mine is a very data intensive application from both, data entry and reporting perspective. Is it advisable to use 3rd party controls (like Telerik) for improved user experience and developer productivity? Are their any professional quality open source Silverlight controls (library) available? Further, I seek information of best practices in the context I shared above.

  • Has the recent version of subversion dealt with "Access Denied" errors from windows services that mo

    - by Eric LaForce
    Does anyone know if this subversion "bug" has been dealt with? https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/subversion/tags/1.6.9/www/faq.html#windows-access-denied I'm getting occasional "Access Denied" errors on Windows. They seem to happen at random. Why? These appear to be due to the various Windows services that monitor the filesystem for changes (anti-virus software, indexing services, the COM+ Event Notification Service). This is not really a bug in Subversion, which makes it difficult for us to fix. A summary of the current state of the investigation is available here. A workaround that should reduce the incidence rate for most people was implemented in revision 7598; if you have an earlier version, please update to the latest release. Currently I am experiencing this same behavior in version 1.5.6 when I try and do a SVN switch (I have suspected McAfee as the culprit for a while and when I saw this I feel it validates my suspicions). I read through the link given but it seems pretty old, so I didn't know if this FAQ was just outdated and the issue has actually be resolved. Thanks for any help. Configuration: SVN 1.5.6 TortoiseSVN 1.5.9 Build 15518 Windows XP SP3 32-bit

  • Filtering documents against a dictionary key in MongoDB

    I have a collection of articles in MongoDB that has the following structure: { 'category': 'Legislature', 'updated': datetime.datetime(2010, 3, 19, 15, 32, 22, 107000), 'byline': None, 'tags': { 'party': ['Peter Hoekstra', 'Virg Bernero', 'Alma Smith', 'Mike Bouchard', 'Tom George', 'Rick Snyder'], 'geography': ['Michigan', 'United States', 'North America'] }, 'headline': '2 Mich. gubernatorial candidates speak to students', 'text': [ 'BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. I have tried writing db.articles.find( {'tags': 'geography'} ), but that doesn't appear to work. I've also thought about changing the search parameter to 'tags.geography', but am having a devil of a time figuring out what the search predicate would be.

  • Segment register, IP register and memory addressing issue!

    - by Zia ur Rahman
    In the following text I asked two questions and I also described that what I know about these question so that you can understand my thinking. Your precious comments about the below text are required. Below is the Detail of 1ST Question As we know that if we have one mega byte memory then we need 20 bits to address this memory. Another thing is each memory cell has a physical address which is of 20 bits in 1Mb memory. IP register in IAPX88 is of 16 bits. Now my point of view is, we can not access the memory at all by the IP register because the memory need 20 bit address to be addressed but the IP register is of 16 bits. If we have a memory of 64k then IP register can access this memory because this memory needs 16 bits to be addressed. But incase of 1mb memory IP can’t.tell me am i right or not if not why? Suppose physical address of memory is 11000000000000000101 Now how can we access this memory location by 16 bits. Below is the detail of Next Question: My next question is , suppose IP register is pointing to memory location, and the segment register is also pointing to a memory location (start of the segment), the memory is of 1MB, how we can access a memory location by these two 16 bit registers tell me the sequence of steps how the 20 bits addressable memory location is accessed . If your answer is, we take the segment value and we shift it left by 4 bits and then add the IP value into it to get the 20 bits address, then this raises another question that is the address bus (the address bus should be 20 bits wide), the registers both the segment register and the IP register are of 16 bits each , now if address bus is 20 bits wide then this means that the address bus is connected to both these registers. If its not the case then another thing that comes into my mind is that both these registers generate a 20 bit address and there would be a register which can store 20 bits and this register would be connected to both these register and the address bus as well.

  • Get id when inserting new row using TableAdapter.Update on a file based database

    - by phq
    I have a database table with one field, called ID, being an auto increment integer. Using a TableAdapter I can read and modify existing rows as well as create new ones. However if I try to modify a newly inserted row I get an DBConcurrencyException: OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection(@"Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=Shift.mdb;Persist Security Info=True"); ShiftDataSetTableAdapters.ShiftTableAdapter shiftTA = new ShiftDataSetTableAdapters.ShiftTableAdapter(); shiftTA.Connection = conn; ShiftDataSet.ShiftDataTable table = new ShiftDataSet.ShiftDataTable(); ShiftDataSet.ShiftRow row = table.NewShiftRow(); row.Name = "life"; table.Rows.Add(row); shiftTA.Update(row); // row.ID == -1 row.Name = "answer"; // <-- all fine up to here shiftTA.Update(row); // DBConcurrencyException: 0 rows affected Separate question, is there any static type of the NewShiftRow() method I can use so that I don't have to create table everytime I want to insert a new row. I guess the problem in the code comes from row.ID that is still -1 after the first Update() call. The Insert is successful and in the database the row has a valid value of ID. How can I get that ID so that I can continue with the second Update call? Update: IT looks like this could have been done automatically using this setting. However according to the answer on msdn social, OLEDB drivers do not support this feature. Not sure where to go from here, use something else than oledb? Update: Tried SQLCompact but discovered that it had the same limitation, it does not support multiple statements. Final question: is there any simple(single file based) database that would allow you to get the values of a inserted row.

  • Jasper report exports empty data in PDF format when there is more data

    - by stanley
    I have a report to be exported in excel, pdf and word using jasper reports. I use xml file as the DataSource for the report, but when the data increases jasper report exports empty file in only for PDF format, when i reduce the data content it export the data available correctly. is there any limitation to pdf size? , how can we manage the size in jasper reports from java? My jrxml is really big, so i cannot add it here, i have added my java code which i use to export the content:- JRAbstractExporter exporter = null; if (format.equals("pdf")) { exporter = new JRPdfExporter(); jasperPrint.setPageWidth(Integer.parseInt( pWidth )); } else if (format.equals("xls")) { exporter = new JRXlsExporter(); } else if (format.equals("doc")) { jasperPrint.setPageWidth(Integer.parseInt( pWidth )); } exporter.setParameter(JRExporterParameter.JASPER_PRINT, jasperPrint); exporter.setParameter(JRExporterParameter.OUTPUT_STREAM, outputStream_); exporter.exportReport(); contents = outputStream_.toByteArray(); response.setContentType("application/"+format); response.addHeader("Content-disposition", "attachment;filename=" + name.toString() + "."+format);

  • Input boxes with transparent background are not clickable in IE8

    - by Viliam
    I have an absolutely positioned input box in a form. The input box has transparent background: .form-page input[type="text"] { border: none; background-color: transparent; /* Other stuff: font-weight, font-size */ } Surprisingly, I cannot select this input box by clicking on it in IE8. It works perfectly in Firefox however. The same happens for background: none. When I change the background color: background-color: red; It works fine, so this is issue associated with transparent background. Setting a border makes the input box selectable by clicking on its border only. Is there a workaround to have clickable input box with transparent background working in IE8? Update: Example. Uncomment background-color and the inputbox is selectable. You can also click on the select box, and focus the input box by pressing Shift+Tab. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html><head></head><body> <style type="text/css"> input[type="text"] { border: none; background: transparent; /*background-color: blue;*/ } #elem528 { position:absolute; left:155px; top:164px; width:60px; height:20px; } #elem529 { position:absolute; left:218px; top:164px; width:40px; height:20px; } </style> <img src="xxx.png" alt="" width="1000" height="1000"> <input id="elem528" maxlength="7" type="text"> <select id="elem529"></select> </body></html>

  • iPhone UIView frame animation inconsistent why?

    - by Rick
    I have an app that uses an image loaded in from an UIImagePickerController instance. Once the picker is dismissed so as to reduce the jarring transition from the picker layout to the layout of the next function I initially have the UIImageView for the image fill the whole screen and then when the picker is dismissed the image 'squeezes' up to the top left of the screen. from the initWithFrame... targetPicView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 320.0, 480.0)]; [targetPicView setContentMode:UIViewContentModeScaleToFill]; this in a function called after dismissing the picker... [UIView beginAnimations:@"squeeze" context:context]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseInOut]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.75]; [targetPicView setFrame:CGRectMake(20.0, 20.0, 130.0, 150.0)]; [UIView commitAnimations]; The weird thing is that this works great when the image has been chosen from the library, the view shrinks down with the top left corner in place just as I planned but... If the image comes from the camera then the view shrinks with the top right corner in place instead and appears to come in from the left side of the screen. Can anyone shed any light on this?

  • Numeric Data Entry in WPF

    - by Matt Hamilton
    How are you handling the entry of numeric values in WPF applications? Without a NumericUpDown control, I've been using a TextBox and handling its PreviewKeyDown event with the code below, but it's pretty ugly. Has anyone found a more graceful way to get numeric data from the user without relying on a third-party control?private void NumericEditPreviewKeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { bool isNumPadNumeric = (e.Key >= Key.NumPad0 && e.Key <= Key.NumPad9) || e.Key == Key.Decimal; bool isNumeric = (e.Key >= Key.D0 && e.Key <= Key.D9) || e.Key == Key.OemPeriod; if ((isNumeric || isNumPadNumeric) && Keyboard.Modifiers != ModifierKeys.None) { e.Handled = true; return; } bool isControl = ((Keyboard.Modifiers != ModifierKeys.None && Keyboard.Modifiers != ModifierKeys.Shift) || e.Key == Key.Back || e.Key == Key.Delete || e.Key == Key.Insert || e.Key == Key.Down || e.Key == Key.Left || e.Key == Key.Right || e.Key == Key.Up || e.Key == Key.Tab || e.Key == Key.PageDown || e.Key == Key.PageUp || e.Key == Key.Enter || e.Key == Key.Return || e.Key == Key.Escape || e.Key == Key.Home || e.Key == Key.End); e.Handled = !isControl && !isNumeric && !isNumPadNumeric; }

  • Soft Paint Bucket Fill: Colour Equality

    - by Bart van Heukelom
    I'm making a small app where children can fill preset illustrations with colours. I've succesfully implemented an MS-paint style paint bucket using the flood fill argorithm. However, near the edges of image elements pixels are left unfilled, because the lines are anti-aliased. This is because the current condition on whether to fill is colourAtCurrentPixel == colourToReplace (the colours are RGB uints) I'd like to add a smoothing/treshold option like in Photoshop and other sophisticated tools, but what's the algorithm to determine the equality/distance between two colours? if (match(pixel(x,y), colourToReplace) setpixel(x,y,colourToReplaceWith) How to fill in match()? Here's my current full code: var b:BitmapData = settings.background; b.lock(); var from:uint = b.getPixel(x,y); var q:Array = []; var xx:int; var yy:int; var w:int = b.width; var h:int = b.height; q.push(y*w + x); while (q.length != 0) { var xy:int = q.shift(); xx = xy % w; yy = (xy - xx) / w; if (b.getPixel(xx,yy) == from) { b.setPixel(xx,yy,to); if (xx != 0) q.push(xy-1); if (xx != w-1) q.push(xy+1); if (yy != 0) q.push(xy-w); if (yy != h-1) q.push(xy+w); } } b.unlock(null);

  • GXT Performance Issues

    - by pearl
    Hi All, We are working on a rather complex system using GXT. While everything works great on FF, IE (especially IE6) is a different story (looking at more than 10 seconds until the browser renders the page). I understand that one of the main reasons is DOM manipulation which is a disaster under IE6 (See http://www.quirksmode.org/dom/innerhtml.html). This can be thought to be a generic problem of a front-end Javascript framework (i.e. GWT) but a simple code (see below) that executes the same functionality proofs otherwise. In fact, under IE6 - getSomeGWT() takes 400ms while getSomeGXT() takes 4 seconds. That's a x10 factor which makes a huge different for the user experience !!! private HorizontalPanel getSomeGWT() { HorizontalPanel pointsLogoPanel = new HorizontalPanel(); for (int i=0; i<350; i++) { HorizontalPanel innerContainer = new HorizontalPanel(); innerContainer.add(new Label("some GWT text")); pointsLogoPanel.add(innerContainer); } return pointsLogoPanel; } private LayoutContainer getSomeGXT() { LayoutContainer pointsLogoPanel = new LayoutContainer(); pointsLogoPanel.setLayoutOnChange(true); for (int i=0; i<350; i++) { LayoutContainer innerContainer = new LayoutContainer(); innerContainer.add(new Text("just some text")); pointsLogoPanel.add(innerContainer); } return pointsLogoPanel; } So to solve/mitigate the issue one would need to - a. Reduce the number of DOM manipulations; or b. Replace them with innerHTML. AFAIK, (a) is simply a side effect of using GXT and (b) is only possible with UiBinder which isn't supported yet by GXT. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  • YUI: ensuring DOM elements and scripts are ready

    - by dound
    If I put my inline script after the DOM elements it interacts with, should I still use YUI 3's domready event? I haven't noticed any problems, and it seems like I can count on the browser loading the page sequentially. (I already use YUI().use('node', ... to make sure the YUI functions I need have been loaded since the YUI script is a separate file.) Is there a way to speed up the loading of widgets like YUI 2's calendar? I load the appropriate script in <head> element of my page. I use YUI().use('yui2-calendar', ... to make sure the Calendar widget is available. Unfortunately, this causes a short but noticeable delay when I load my page with the calendar. If I omit the YUI().use('yui2-calendar', ... code then it shows up without a noticeable delay - but I guess this could cause the Calendar to not show up at all if the YUI script doesn't load in time? With regards to #2, is it possible to reduce the visual artifact of the calendar not being present and then showing up? I've made it slightly better by specifying a height and width for the parent div so that at least the space is already allocated = minimal shifting around when it does load.

  • Bubble Breaker Game Solver better than greedy?

    - by Gregory
    For a mental exercise I decided to try and solve the bubble breaker game found on many cell phones as well as an example here:Bubble Break Game The random (N,M,C) board consists N rows x M columns with C colors The goal is to get the highest score by picking the sequence of bubble groups that ultimately leads to the highest score A bubble group is 2 or more bubbles of the same color that are adjacent to each other in either x or y direction. Diagonals do not count When a group is picked, the bubbles disappear, any holes are filled with bubbles from above first, ie shift down, then any holes are filled by shifting right A bubble group score = n * (n - 1) where n is the number of bubbles in the bubble group The first algorithm is a simple exhaustive recursive algorithm which explores going through the board row by row and column by column picking bubble groups. Once the bubble group is picked, we create a new board and try to solve that board, recursively descending down Some of the ideas I am using include normalized memoization. Once a board is solved we store the board and the best score in a memoization table. I create a prototype in python which shows a (2,15,5) board takes 8859 boards to solve in about 3 seconds. A (3,15,5) board takes 12,384,726 boards in 50 minutes on a server. The solver rate is ~3k-4k boards/sec and gradually decreases as the memoization search takes longer. Memoization table grows to 5,692,482 boards, and hits 6,713,566 times. What other approaches could yield high scores besides the exhaustive search? I don't seen any obvious way to divide and conquer. But trending towards larger and larger bubbles groups seems to be one approach Thanks to David Locke for posting the paper link which talks above a window solver which uses a constant-depth lookahead heuristic.

  • Excel 2003 VBA - Method to duplicate this code that select and colors rows

I wanted to select and fill (with any color) every other row, kinda like some of those access reports. I can do it manually coding each and every row, but two problems: 1) its a pain 2) i don't know what the record count is before hand. How can I make the code more efficient in this respect while incorporating the recordcount to know how many rows to "loop through" EDIT: Another question I have is with the selection methods I am using in the module, is there a better excel syntax instead of these with selections.... .Cells.Select With Selection.Font .Name = "Calibri" .Size = 10 End With is the only way i figure out how to accomplish this piece, but literally every other time I run this code, it fails. It says there is no object and points to the .font ....every other time? is this because the code is poor, or that I am not closing the xls app in the code? if so how do i do that? Thanks as always!

  • How can I improve my real-time behavior in multi-threaded app using pthreads and condition variables

    - by WilliamKF
    I have a multi-threaded application that is using pthreads. I have a mutex() lock and condition variables(). There are two threads, one thread is producing data for the second thread, a worker, which is trying to process the produced data in a real time fashion such that one chuck is processed as close to the elapsing of a fixed time period as possible. This works pretty well, however, occasionally when the producer thread releases the condition upon which the worker is waiting, a delay of up to almost a whole second is seen before the worker thread gets control and executes again. I know this because right before the producer releases the condition upon which the worker is waiting, it does a chuck of processing for the worker if it is time to process another chuck, then immediately upon receiving the condition in the worker thread, it also does a chuck of processing if it is time to process another chuck. In this later case, I am seeing that I am late processing the chuck many times. I'd like to eliminate this lost efficiency and do what I can to keep the chucks ticking away as close to possible to the desired frequency. Is there anything I can do to reduce the delay between the release condition from the producer and the detection that that condition is released such that the worker resumes processing? For example, would it help for the producer to call something to force itself to be context switched out? Bottom line is the worker has to wait each time it asks the producer to create work for itself so that the producer can muck with the worker's data structures before telling the worker it is ready to run in parallel again. This period of exclusive access by the producer is meant to be short, but during this period, I am also checking for real-time work to be done by the producer on behalf of the worker while the producer has exclusive access. Somehow my hand off back to running in parallel again results in significant delay occasionally that I would like to avoid. Please suggest how this might be best accomplished.

  • Improving Performance of Crystal Reports using Stored Procedures

    - by mjh41
    Recently I updated a Crystal Report that was doing all of its work on the client-side (Selects, formulas, etc) and changed all of the logic to be done on the server-side through Stored Procedures using an Oracle 11g database. Now the report is only being used to display the output of the stored procedures and nothing else. Everything I have read on this subject says that utilizing stored procedures should greatly reduce the running time of the report, but it still takes roughly the same amount of time to retrieve the data from the server. Is there something wrong with the stored procedure I have written, or is the issue in the Crystal Report itself? Here is the stored procedure code along with the package that defines the necessary REF CURSOR. CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE SP90_INVENTORYDATA_ALL ( invdata_cur IN OUT sftnecm.inv_data_all_pkg.inv_data_all_type, dCurrentEndDate IN vw_METADATA.CASEENTRCVDDATE%type, dCurrentStartDate IN vw_METADATA.CASEENTRCVDDATE%type ) AS BEGIN OPEN invdata_cur FOR SELECT vw_METADATA.CREATIONTIME, vw_METADATA.RESRESOLUTIONDATE, vw_METADATA.CASEENTRCVDDATE, vw_METADATA.CASESTATUS, vw_METADATA.CASENUMBER, (CASE WHEN vw_METADATA.CASEENTRCVDDATE < dCurrentStartDate AND ( (vw_METADATA.CASESTATUS is null OR vw_METADATA.CASESTATUS != 'Closed') OR TO_DATE(vw_METADATA.RESRESOLUTIONDATE, 'MM/DD/YYYY') >= dCurrentStartDate) then 1 else 0 end) InventoryBegin, (CASE WHEN (to_date(vw_METADATA.RESRESOLUTIONDATE, 'MM/DD/YYYY') BETWEEN dCurrentStartDate AND dCurrentEndDate) AND vw_METADATA.RESRESOLUTIONDATE is not null AND vw_METADATA.CASESTATUS is not null then 1 else 0 end) CaseClosed, (CASE WHEN vw_METADATA.CASEENTRCVDDATE BETWEEN dCurrentStartDate AND dCurrentEndDate then 1 else 0 end) CaseCreated FROM vw_METADATA WHERE vw_METADATA.CASEENTRCVDDATE <= dCurrentEndDate ORDER BY vw_METADATA.CREATIONTIME, vw_METADATA.CASESTATUS; END SP90_INVENTORYDATA_ALL; And the package: CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE inv_data_all_pkg AS TYPE inv_data_all_type IS REF CURSOR RETURN inv_data_all_temp%ROWTYPE; END inv_data_all_pkg;

  • Boost.MultiIndex: Are there way to share object between two processes?

    - by Arman
    Hello, I have a Boost.MultiIndex big array about 10Gb. In order to reduce the reading I thought there should be a way to keep the data in the memory and another client programs will be able to read and analyse it. What is the proper way to organize it? The array looks like: struct particleID { int ID;// real ID for particle from Gadget2 file "ID" block unsigned int IDf;// postition in the file particleID(int id,const unsigned int idf):ID(id),IDf(idf){} bool operator<(const particleID& p)const { return ID<p.ID;} unsigned int getByGID()const {return (ID&0x0FFF);}; }; struct ID{}; struct IDf{}; struct IDg{}; typedef multi_index_container< particleID, indexed_by< ordered_unique< tag<IDf>, BOOST_MULTI_INDEX_MEMBER(particleID,unsigned int,IDf)>, ordered_non_unique< tag<ID>,BOOST_MULTI_INDEX_MEMBER(particleID,int,ID)>, ordered_non_unique< tag<IDg>,BOOST_MULTI_INDEX_CONST_MEM_FUN(particleID,unsigned int,getByGID)> > > particlesID_set; Any ideas are welcome. kind regards Arman.

  • Optimal Serialization of Primitive Types

    - by Greg Dean
    We are beginning to roll out more and more WAN deployments of our product (.Net fat client w/ IIS hosted Remoting backend). Because of this we are trying to reduce the size of the data on the wire. We have overridden the default serialization by implementing ISerializable (similar to this), we are seeing anywhere from 12% to 50% gains. Most of our efforts focus on optimizing arrays of primitive types. I would like to know if anyone knows of any fancy way of serializing primitive types, beyond the obvious? For example today we serialize an array of ints as follows: [4-bytes (array length)][4-bytes][4-bytes] Can anyone do significantly better? The most obvious example of a significant improvement, for boolean arrays, is putting 8 bools in each byte, which we already do. Note: Saving 7 bits per bool may seem like a waste of time, but when you are dealing with large magnitudes of data (which we are), it adds up very fast. Note: We want to avoid general compression algorithms because of the latency associated with it. Remoting only supports buffered requests/responses(no chunked encoding). I realize there is a fine line between compression and optimal serialization, but our tests indicate we can afford very specific serialization optimizations at very little cost in latency. Whereas reprocessing the entire buffered response into new compressed buffer is too expensive.

  • Multiplication algorithm for abritrary precision (bignum) integers.

    - by nn
    Hi, I'm writing a small bignum library for a homework project. I am to implement Karatsuba multiplication, but before that I would like to write a naive multiplication routine. I'm following a guide written by Paul Zimmerman titled "Modern Computer Arithmetic" which is freely available online. On page 4, there is a description of an algorithm titled BasecaseMultiply which performs gradeschool multiplication. I understand step 2, 3, where B^j is a digit shift of 1, j times. But I don't understand step 1 and 3, where we have A*b_j. How is this multiplication meant to be carried out if the bignum multiplication hasn't been defined yet? Would the operation "*" in this algorithm just be the repeated addition method? Here is the parts I have written thus far. I have unit tested them so they appear to be correct for the most part: The structure I use for my bignum is as follows: #define BIGNUM_DIGITS 2048 typedef uint32_t u_hw; // halfword typedef uint64_t u_w; // word typedef struct { unsigned int sign; // 0 or 1 unsigned int n_digits; u_hw digits[BIGNUM_DIGITS]; } bn; Currently available routines: bn *bn_add(bn *a, bn *b); // returns a+b as a newly allocated bn void bn_lshift(bn *b, int d); // shifts d digits to the left, retains sign int bn_cmp(bn *a, bn *b); // returns 1 if a>b, 0 if a=b, -1 if a<b

  • Sanitize a string with non-alphanum repetition

    - by Toto
    I need to sanitize article titles when (creative) users try to "attract attention" with some non-alphanum repetition. Exemples: Buy my product !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Buy my product !? !? !? !? !? !? Buy my product !!!!!!!!!.......!!!!!!!! Buy my product <----------- Some acceptable solution would be to reduce the repetition of non-alphanum to 2. So I would get: Buy my product !! Buy my product !? !? Buy my product !!..!! Buy my product <-- This solution did not work that well: preg_replace('/(\W{2,})(?=\1+)/', '', $title) Any idea how to do it in PHP with regex? Other better solution is also welcomed (I cannot strip all the non-alphanum characters as they can make sense). Edit: the objective is only to avoid most common issues. The other creative cases will be sanitized manually or sanitized with an other regex.

  • Business Layer Pattern on Rails? MVCL

    - by Fabiano PS
    That is a broad question, and I appreciate no short/dumb asnwers like: "Oh that is the model job, this quest is retarded (period)" PROBLEM Where I work at people created a system over 2 years for managing the manufacture process over demand in the most simplified still broad as possible, involving selling, buying, assemble, The system is coded over Ruby On Rails. The result has been changed lots of times and the result is a mess on callbacks (some are called several times), 200+ models, and fat controllers: Total bad. The QUESTION is, if there is a gem, or pattern designed to handle Rails large app logic? The logic whould be able to fully talk to models (whose only concern would be data format handling and validation) What I EXPECT is to reduce complexity from various controllers, and hard to track callbacks into files with the responsibility to handle a business operation logic. In some cases there is the need to wait for a response, in others, only validation of the input is enough and a bg process would take place. ie: -- Sell some products (need to wait the operation to finish) 1. Set a View able to get the products input 2. Controller gets the product list inputed by employee and call the logic Logic::ExecuteWithResponse('sell', 'products', :prods => @product_list_with_qtt, :when => @date, :employee => current_user() ) This Logic would handle buying order, assemble order, machine schedule, warehouse reservation, and others
