    I have models that belong to some 'group' (Company class). I want to add users, who will also belong to a one group and should be able to edit/manage/add objects with membership in associated group. something like: class Company() class Something() company = ForeignKey(Company) user Microsoft_admin company = ForeignKey(Company) and this user should only see and edit objects belonging to associated Company in the Admin Interface. How to acomplish that?

  • Retrieve every key of a column family in Cassandra

    Hi all, I have found no way to translate a simple select like SELECT * FROM USER into Cassandra. Is it possible to simply retrieve all the keys in a ColumnFamily?   • RODBC sqlSave and column names

    I've a question about using sqlSave. How maps RODBC data in the data frame to the database table columns? If I've a table with columns X and Y and a data frame with columns X and Y, RODBC puts X into X and Y into Y (I found out by trail-and-error). But can I explicitly tell R how to map data.frame columns to database table columns, like put A in X and B in Y. I'm rather new to R and think the RODBC manual is a bit cryptic. Nor can I find an example on the internet.

  • Indexes and multi column primary keys

    Went searching and didn't find the answer to this specific noob question. My apologies if I missed it. In a MySQL database I have a table with the following primary key PRIMARY KEY id (invoice, item) In my application I will also frequently be selecting on "item" by itself and less frequently on only "invoice". I'm assuming I would benefit from indexes on these columns. MySQL does not complain when I define the following: INDEX (invoice), INDEX (item), PRIMARY KEY id (invoice, item) But I don't see any evidence (using DESCRIBE -- the only way I know how to look) that separate indexes have been established for these two columns. So the question is, are the columns that make up a primary key automatically indexed individually? Also, is there a better way than DESCRIBE to explore the structure of my table?

  • small scale web site - global javascript file style/format/pattern - improving maintainability

    I frequently create (and inherit) small to medium websites where I have the following sort of code in a single file (normally named global.js or application.js or projectname.js). If functions get big, I normally put them in a seperate file, and call them at the bottom of the file below in the $(document).ready() section. If I have a few functions that are unique to certain pages, I normally have another switch statement for the body class inside the $(document).ready() section. How could I restructure this code to make it more maintainable? Note: I am less interested in the functions innards, more so the structure, and how different types of functions should be dealt with. I need to query the database dynamically (i.e i have no idea how many values could be seperated by a comma in the web.config) and run a select statement on the table passing these values and getting all that is relevant for example: select * from tablename where columnname = string1 string2 string3 etc etc some strings may only contain 1 guid some may contain 10

  • Embedding existing page in a CakePHP site

    We have an existing PHP page (from an earlier project) which could be described as cryptic and ancient. It basically displays a form, catches the input and runs an external application to process the input and then pipes the output to the user. I would really like not to modify this file any more than is required. Would there be an easy way to just make this file magically work by copying it to some location in the CakePHP's directory and have it receive $POST etc. as usual?

  • Running my web site in a 32-bit application pool on a 64-bit OS.

    Here is my setup: Dev: - Windows Server 2008 64-bit - Visual Studio 2008 - Solution with 3 class libraries, 1 web application Staging Web Server: - Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit - IIS7.5 Integrated Application Pool with 32-bit Applications Enabled In Visual Studio I have set all 4 of my projects to compile to 'Any CPU' but when I run this web application on the web server with the 32-bit application pool it times out and crashes. When I run the application pool in 64-bit mode it works fine. The production web server requires me to run 32-bit application pool in 64-bit OS which is why I have this configured in this way on the staging web server. (I considered posting on ServerFault but the server part seems to be working fine. It is my code specifically that doesn't seem to want to run in 32-bit application pool which is why I am posting here.)

I have a table with 3 fields person, recipe and ingredient person = creator of the recipe recipe = the recipe ingredient = one of the ingredients in the recipe I want to create a query which results in every person who whenever has added carrot to a recipe, the person must also have added salt to the same recipe. More than one person can have created the recipe, in which case the person who added the ingredient will be credited for adding the ingredient. Sometimes the ingredient is used more than once, even by the same person. If this the table: person1, rec1, carrot person1, rec1, salt person1, rec1, salt person1, rec2, salt person1, rec2, pepper person2, rec1, carrot person2, rec1, salt person2, rec2, carrot person2, rec2, pepper person3, rec1, sugar person3, rec1, carrot Then I want this result: person1 Because this person is the only one who whenever has added carrot also have added salt.

  • PHP driven site needs password change.

    I have inherited a website that needs the password changed that accesses the database. I can see that there are two tables within the database but neither of them have username or password info. The previous web guy moved out of the country and can't be reached. I am not up-to-speed enough to figure this out. I have gone through all the files to try and find the answer but can't get it. It's hosted by goDaddy.com and I have changed the passwords there but it didn't change this login info. www.executivehomerents.com/cpanel <-this brings up the prompt for the username & password which I won't give out but the page only gives you 5 choices and none of them deal with changing the password.     I "inherited" an old Database where dates are stored as Int32 values (times too, but dates shall suffice for this example) i.e. 20090101 for Jan. 1st 2009. I can not change the schema of this database because it is still accessed by the old programs. However I want to write a new program using EF as the O/R-M. Now I'd love to have DateTime-Values in my Model. Is there a way to write a custom type and use this as a Type in the EF-Model. Something like a Type "OldDate" with properties: DatabaseValue : Int23 Value : DateTime (specifying the date-part whereas the time-part is always 0:00:00) Is something like this possible with the EF-Model ?
