• AJAX POST problems with CKFinder

  We're using CKFinder for one of our sites, which has been working fine for us until we moved to a new dedicated server (which is similar but not exactly the same as the old server). Now we cant upload, the AJAX request simply never finishes. From monitoring it in Firebug it attempts to POST to here: http://www.site.com/temp/ckfinder/core/connector/php/connector.php?command=FileUpload&type=Files&currentFolder=%2F&hash=4f9cdbbb1e295966&langCode=en&= but never gets a response. This is the same CKFinder install on both WIMP servers, one works fine one doesnt. any idea where we should be looking to fix this problem? php.ini maybe? any help would be great as we havent a clue at this stage.   I have an ExpressionEngine site at http://example.com and a WordPress blog at http://example.com/blog ...the problem is, any WP pages that don't map directly to an index.php end up being handled by ExpressionEngine, which results in a 404. For example, http://example.com/blog and http://example.com/blog/wp-admin both work fine as they both directly use an index.php in those folders, but http://example.com/blog/category/tag/something gets handled by ExpressionEngine. So how can I modify the ExpressionEngine .htaccess file to tell it to ignore anything in the /blog directory?   Okay, I'm sorry that this is pretty complicated, but it shouldn't be that hard to solve... Here's what I want to do. I have an HTML form that I want to upload to MySQL with PHP. That part's easy, but the thing is I want the submit button to be a Flash object. Somehow I need the Flash button to submit the form, but I think I can figure that out. The tricky part is that I need it to set another PHP variable before submitting the form. The variable will be determined by a bunch of stuff, but I can code that in actionscript later. I just need to figure out how to pass the variable back to the webpage. A $_POST variable would probably be fine. Thanks!! Let me know if I need to clarify more...

  I have a web service to which users upload python scripts that are run on a server. Those scripts process files that are on the server and I want them to be able to see only a certain hierarchy of the server's filesystem (best: a temporary folder on which I copy the files I want processed and the scripts). The server will ultimately be a linux based one but if a solution is also possible on Windows it would be nice to know how. What I though of is creating a user with restricted access to folders of the FS - ultimately only the folder containing the scripts and files - and launch the python interpreter using this user. Can someone give me a better alternative? as relying only on this makes me feel insecure, I would like a real sandboxing or virtual FS feature where I could run safely untrusted code.

• Best way to cache resized images using PHP and MySQL

  What would be the best practice way to handle the caching of images using PHP. The filename is currently stored in a MySQL database which is renamed to a GUID on upload, along with the original filename and alt tag. When the image is put into the HTML pages it is done so using a url such as '/images/get/200x200/{guid}.jpg which is rewritten to a php script. This allows my designers to specify (roughly - the source image maybe smaller) the file size. The php script then creates a hash of the size (200x200 in the url) and the GUID filename and if the file has been generated before (file with the name of the hash exists in TMP directory) sends the file from the application TMP directory. If the hashed filename does not exist, then it is created, written to disk and served up in the same manner, Is this efficient as it could be? (It also supports watermarking the images and the watermarking settings are stored in the hash as well, but thats out of scope for this.)

  I have a Python module that I would like to upload to PyPI. So far, it is working for Python 2.x. It shouldn't be too hard to write a version for 3.x now. But, after following guidelines for making modules in these places: Distributing Python Modules The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Packaging it's not clear to me how to support multiple source distributions for different versions of Python, and it's not clear if/how PyPI could support it. I envisage I would have separate code for: 2.x 2.6 (maybe, as a special case to use the new buffer API) 3.x How is it possible to set up a Python module in PyPI so that someone can do: easy_install modulename and it will install the right thing whether the user is using 2.x or 3.x?

• Using .htaccess to server files from Amazon S3 CloudFront

  My ideal setup would be to take a current clients site, upload a .htaccess with a regex inside, that would match the URI, and if it finds a certain file extension, it would use the same path, but with an altered domain. ie. Normal path: http://www.domain.com/something/images/someimage.jpeg http://www.domain.com/assets/js/jquery.js .htaccess translated would turn the above into: http://mycdn.other.com/something/images/someimage.jpeg http://mycdn.other.com/assets/js/jquery.js I googled this for hours in a row, no luck. Again, this is for actually making use of Amazon's CloudFront. S3 is already mounted to the website for backups and storing files using s3fs, but this doesn't solve the issue since it's using S3 directly, not using the CloudFront.

  I got an image upload function working, but there's 4 images required in this image. And my current function is simply just overwriting the image despite the number. I'm wondering how I would insert (preferably) a letter into my foreach function. $uploads = array($this->uploads->data()); foreach ( $uploads as $key[] => $value ) { $imagename = $cleaned . '-s' . $value['file_ext']; //outputs clean-name-s.ext } By the time all is said and done, 4 images will require this function. Leaving me with clean-name-sa.ext, clean-name-sb.ext, clean-name-sc.ext, and clean-name-sd.ext (numbers work as well). The form does require that all 4 fields are filled out before submission, so would I just create an array of my desired identifiers and create a foreach loop that outputs 4 different $imagenames? Or is there a simpler, more logical approach to this.

I have tried this reading the documentation but seems to getting error: image = models.ImageField(upload_to='uploads/', height_field=258, width_field=425) Secondly, when adding an item via admin panel, I want my image's file name to be renamed as same as slug, if any issue arises (like if such named image already exists, add "_" to the end as it used to do. IE: My slug is i-love-you-guys , uploaded image such have i-love-you-guys.png at the end.

  One of the biggest issues I have, from a UI standpoint, when building a new website is figuring out what colors I will use and of those colors, do they actually work well together. I found this site that has really helped me out and I figured I would share it with all of you and also get some responses back about either sites similar or other ways that you get/figure out your color schemes. Here is the site that I currently use: http://kuler.adobe.com/ With Adobe Kuler, you can chose a base color and it will suggest 5 colors, including your color, that go well with one another. You can, of course, modify the colors it chooses. Also,one of the main features I use, is the image color matching. You can upload an image and it will determine a color scheme based on the colors of the image. So if you have a logo and want to use the colors of the logo, then this works perfectly for you.   I get the following error when I try to upload the application on iTunes Connect: "Binary file names cannot contain a space. Please rename your binary file and try again." If I try to Validate the Application in XCode, I get: "My Application.ipa: filename may not contain whitespace" So I guess I have to find a way to rename this .ipa file. I stumbled across a .Mac framework from Apple but it hasn't been updated in years, so I don't want to use it due to possible compatibility problems it may cause. • AJAX: how to get progress feedback in web apps, and to avoid timeouts on long requests?

  This is a general design question about how to make a web application that will receive a large amount of uploaded data, process it, and return a result, all without the dreaded spinning beach-ball for 5 minutes or a possible HTTP timeout. Here's the requirements: make a web form where you can upload a CSV file containing a list of URLs when the user clicks "submit", the server fetches the file, and checks each URL to see if its alive, and what the title tag of the page is. the result is a downloadable CSV file containing the URL, and the result HTTP code the input CSV can be very large ( 100000 rows), so the fetch process might take 5-30 minutes. My solution so far is to have a spinning javascript loop on the client site, which queries the server every second to determine the overall progress of the job. This seems kludgy to me, and I'm hesitant to accept this as the best solution. I'm using perl, template toolkit, and jquery, but any solution using any web technology would be acceptable.

  Hi there, I have a page where a user can upload a file along with some other input. Because I wanted this to be AJAX-like, I resorted to using an iFrame to accomplish this. After the file is uploaded and an iFrame is loaded with a response page, I need to update a DIV outside of the iFrame with an AJAX call. The reason for separate updates, is that the result of the outside DIV depends on the input that the user provided with the file input. Can this be done? Am I approaching this the wrong way?   In my Google Appengine application I have defined a custom exception InvalidUrlException(Exception) in the module 'gvu'. Somewhere in my code I do: try: results = gvu.article_parser.parse(source_url) except gvu.InvalidUrlException as e: self.redirect('/home?message='+str(e)) ... which works fine in the local GAE development server, but raises <type 'exceptions.SyntaxError'>: invalid syntax (translator.py, line 18) when I upload it. (line 18 is the line starting with 'except') The problem seems to come from the 'as e' part: if I remove it I don't get this exception anymore. However I would like to be able to access the raised exception. Have you ever encountered this issue? Is there an alternative syntax?

• FTP OVER SSL - Invalid Token Error

  I am trying to implement FTP over SSL to upload encrypted files. I've created a SSL certificate and send it to the vendor. But I couldn't make a FTPS connection to the server. When connecting via FTPS, I'm authenticating using my private key file. I have tried .NET FTPWebRequest, SmartFTp,CuteFTP Pro. I am getting the following error:- A call to SSPI failed. See inner exception. • Cocoa Memory Usage

  I'm trying to track down some peculiar memory behavior in my Cocoa desktop app. My app does a lot of image processing using NSImage and uploads those images to a website over HTTP using NSURLConnection. After uploading several hundred images (some very large), when I run Instrument I get no leaks. I've also run through MallocDebug and get no leaks. When I dig into object allocations using Instrument I get output like this: GeneralBlock-9437184, Net Bytes 9437184, # Net 1 GeneralBlock-192512, Net Bytes 2695168, # Net 14 and etc., for smaller sizes. When I look at these in detail, they're marked as being owned by 'Foundation' and created via NSConcreteMutableData initWithCapacity. During HTTP upload I'm creating a post body using NSMutableData, so I'm guessing these are buffers Cocoa is caching for me when I create the NSMutableData objects. Is there a way to force Cocoa to free these? I'm 90% positive I'm releasing correctly (and Instruments and MallocDebug seem to confirm this), but I think Cocoa is keeping these around for perf reasons since I'm allocating so many MSMutableData buffers.

  Hey all, i have this peice of code that allows a user to select a jpg image, resize it and uploads it to the server driectory. The problem being is that it reloads the aspx page when it saves the image. My question is-is there any way to do this same thing but with ajax so that it doesn't leave the page after submitting it? I've done this pleanty of times with classic asp pages but never with a aspx page. • Type of object returned by an input from a web page

  I'm attempting to upload a file into a jsp and then use the file in some other code. My problem is that it comes into the servlet as an Object via the request.getAttribute() call so I don't know what to cast it to. I have this code so far to try and test what it is but I'm getting a NullPointerException. PrintWriter out = response.getWriter(); out.println(request.getAttribute("file1").getClass()); Is my understanding of whats going on flawed or am I just coding it up wrong?
